Called past today to confirm that neither the cache nor the sign that inspired it were there. So archiving.
Quick find, though no sign of the cow cockies humorous sign! Thanks for the cache.
A quick detour from the main road for a smiley. Cheers.
ANZAC weekend, time for a wee road trip. Saturday to Nelson.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Soon after catching the geocaching bug, NZDi and I came out to Pelorus Bridge to see how we could go in the bush environment. We discovered geocaching took a lot longer than in the open and didn't get a chance to finish off the area. We also logged our first DNF out here and today was the day we decided we needed to clear up some unfinished business. As we have a few more caches under our belts now, we didn't expect this exercise to take too long so we planned to collect a few more caches along the road between Pelorus Bridge and Havelock, then do some caching around Havelock before heading home. In the end we got 32 caches and managed to swap the three trackables that have been in our possession for a while for three new ones.
After caching out the Pelorus Bridge Scenic Reserve earlier this morning, it was now time to head back to Havelock and do a few around there. Of course there are a few caches that will make the trip take a little longer and this was the second. From previous logs, I see the sign has been removed. I remember when this piece of legislation was first proposed and the derision it received from all but the Green Brigade.
The remnants of the sign were still visible but I was amused to discover the cache was not near them. A QEF PnG anyway.

Enjoyed the peaceful countryside here, and also interested to see the Te Araroa walkway pass by here. Thanks for this one SoBad.
QEF just off the main road. Very quiet spot today. Replacement log still nice and dry.

Off to the Blenheim branch office today, so a chance for some caching on the way.
Needing a make up a little time now, I fast-forwarded through Rai and Pelorus but this cache, with its amusing back story deserved a visit.
I guess the Tax in question has been repealed now (or perhaps it was just a lot of hot air!) as there was no sign of the sign, I think, but the cache remains waiting to be found.
Thanks SoBads

Replaced log in a plastic bag... Owner needs to dry out cache. An easy wee find on way to nelson. Tftc!
Got this one on the way to Blenheim. The logbook was very wet, so logged our visit on a piece of scrap paper, which we wrapped in "glad wrap".

[green] Got invited to a road trip with Taybee and TaybeeNZ, and Taybee had cleverly worked out a route neither of us had been on - 40 caches worth! Picton, Queen Charlotte Drive and Pelorus. Long day.
Last cache of the day, and none found with hints. Yay!!

we didn't see the sign mentioned, but did get the cache. very nice area. TFTC!
For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

We had already seen the sign last Easter when we were here while the cache was disabled due to it being missing, so we were glad to finally pick up this smilie. There was abit of water in the container but the log is safe and dry. Thanks for the cache

Thanks to StokesNZ and KrisnKen for the maintenance.
We will check this out on our next visit to the area. With the sign gone it may be archived.

Found with KrisnKen.....a wet soggy logsheet so decided to hijack whole cache and take "home" to dry out in front of fireplace. Returned the next day (dried and cleaned) as we did another afternoon of geocaching. Further maintenance may be required if weather continues to be wet!!
Isnt funny how FAR you will go out of your way for a cache and other times the ones that require a very SHORT detour get ignored. I dont know how many times I've driven along the main road and thought "I must get that one" but I never have ... until today and as promised it was a very each cache. Thank you

Isis 58 said this cache very funny. Great theme but would be funnier with the sign.
What a pity that the sign is AWOL. Easy cache find, though and hint still works. NINO TFTC
This had been our first trip to New Zealand. We spent three weeks here in this amazing country, which is unfortunately quite a short time. We saw a lot of gorgeous places, met very friendly people, could see the different landscapes like deserts, rain forests, glaciers and oceans. And of course animals like Kiwis (never thought that they are so big), dolphins, seals, glow worms, penguins (I love the blue ones). It was hard to say good bye and go back to the winter in Europe.
We hope to come back one time...Greetings from Germany / Switzerland.
A nice drive-in, thank you!
Thank you for maintaining the cache.

Makka pakka 2 went out to day to see what he could see and there it was just for me
We will definitely be replacing this cache within the month. Sorry for the delay, but we have not been in the area recently.

TFTC. Merle Lutz comes from Germany and it was necessary for a brief political explanation to take place, then it was great entertainment as we read the public notice.
Great humor and a favorite vote from me.

Knew this one was there but always seem to drive past on main road, this time we found it on way further out. TFTC. Nearly got wet from irrigator retrieving.
Oh, that's funny! Took a photo, which will be going on Facebook, and appreciated the sense of humour. I don't think the copulating snails I disturbed on the cache saw the funny side, though . TFTC, SoBad. =^.^=

Was glad the cache enticed me to drive over this bridge for the first time. Enjoyed the humour [^] ,cache was found and signed without difficulty.
This was a funny cache. COuld smell the country smell as soon as the door was opened. Really enjoyed this cache on a mission with friends. THanks
