Thanks for the cache, a nice and easy find after walking from suggested parking area on a recent adventure. Cache in good condition.
In the area for work, I decided to nab this cache on my way home. Great location for a cache. TFTC Solomonfamily
bunadoorian and I came here as I needed a cache and bunadoorian was after a large cache to leave a couple of trackables. We found the cache in good condition but was a few meters from GZ. TFTC and for bringing us back here Solomonfamily.
I've wanted to look for this cache for several years and today I was in the locality with icw. The bridge may be old and rotting today, but one has to admire the abilities of the 19th century 'bush engineers' who built it. Tftc.
Out on the area today on this glorious spring day gathering caches on my day off work … and whilst the kiddos are at school. I wouldn’t want to walk over this bridge either. Great spot for a cache however. Thanks for bringing me here.
It was me! I found it! Lovely old bridge. Out "treasure hunting" with the grandkids. TFTC
Previously lived in the area for about 5 years. Passed the old bridge many times but never stopped until today. Still reckon Burke's fish & chips is the best TFTC
As the home of my dear grandparents, I visit Hurstbridge often. I, however, have not found myself exploring the charms and quirks of the township until this cache sent me on a wander up Arthur’s Creek Road. It is truly a remarkable part of Melbourne, and nearly impossible to consider it is a mere 30km from the CBD, and is underpinned by some remarkable history. The tale of Burke’s Bridge may be one never set in stone, however, the endearing (albeit run down) bridge will be set in stone as a Hurstbridge icon. I thoroughly enjoyed this cache. TFTC.
Thank you Solomon Family. We're now living in the area and love the opportunity to explore and learn.
Always very interesting going to historic sites and learning more about it. Unfortunately on our short walk to this one we found a dead echidna
Thanks for the cache Solomonfamily!!

i was wondering given the current flood levels if this cache has been washed away. it was there but the container was broken. replaced container. quick find. That is one old bridge. New vic LGA for me
The JAMS team ( JJ52,Allister w, Mogni, and sir_spectre minus mitchell&hound ) we where out for there usually monthly caching adventure. This time it was to Victoria for the Whittlesea Mega. We left thrusday morning and came back monday We targeted as many Vic LGA's on the journey there and back plus trying to get some extra's around the " melbourne CBD ". A few letterbox D/T's that don't exist in S.A. where stamped and selected D/T's in victoria for our fizzy grid only using victorian caches ( 11 to go before this trip for me ). Where possible old caches where targeted in the missing LGA's ( 2000 or 2001 ) or caches with high fav points. This filled holes in some of the teams Jasper grids. The recent rains caused localized floods that caused a few road closures that slowed our team down and meant we didn't get all LGA's targeted, we where also slowed down by the parks that have turned in to marshes with the rain. Also one tree was climbed which was a record low for the team. It was good to catch up with some teams we have seen for many months or a year or two at the mega and meet some new teams as well.

The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) crew went on a MEGA adventure. We all managed to get a 5 day weekend so we made the most of our trip out of state. Our main targets were old caches, different LGA's and those that have lots of favourite points plus of course the MEGA and all the caches put out in celebration
Thanks to all those who have placed, hosted events and kept all the other caches alive for us to find.
All caches signed as JAMS.
Thanks to solomonfamily from mogni

Managed to make a beeline for this cache in between showers. Interesting story and history lesson, TFTC!
Found with the JAMS crew on our Whittlesea Mega weekend. I got to met a lot of great people.
The JAMS team (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) have hit the road again, this time heading to the Wittlesea Mega event caching along the way. We had various goals that we wanted to achieve on our 5 day road trip concentrating on old caches, LGA's, unusual D/T combinations and caches with lots of favourite points. [^]
We covered a lot of ground and had a fun time touring around Victoria. We also really enjoyed the Mega and caught up with lots of people, some we hadn't seen for quite a while. There was plenty to see and do at the showgrounds and we managed to fit events, labs and the maze while we were there before heading out to find more caches.
We were lucky with the weather, which turned out to be much nicer than what was forecast and we were able to get out there and find the caches we had targeted. All in all a great 5 days.
Today we continued finding more of the TWC caches and the Puzzles for Beginners series and others we came across on our travels.
Thanks for the cache solomonfamily.

Found strewn around GZ, gathered log pieces and closed up cache. Messaged owner; cache needs a clean-out from dampness etc.
We love a bit of a history lesson and a good cache placement as well. Thanks for showing us something we would have ordinarily just driven past. Thank you solomonfamily for placing and maintaining It Wasn't Me for us to find today.

I liked the Burke/Bourke story, and the bridge. Thanks for bringing me here Solomonfamily
What a cute little bridge! Thanks for a little history lesson so close to home.
This was our first find after discovering Geocaching. It was such a buzz to locate this little box that had been in its location for 12 years. We are hooked as a family.
Thanks for the Cache. It could do with a bit of a clean to be honest. Inside has a bit of dirt inside it
**Find #3421**
Out enjoying an evening of caching with the Geo-wife. A quick find, and great place to visit. Nice old bridge and great history.
Thanks **solomonfamily**

Found easily enough. Tip for future finders is that the clips can be stubborn. Make sure it is closed properly. Items were spilling out when I arrived.
Cache is older than quite a few kids in this activity! Thanks!

Great site. Cache was open unfortunately. We closed it up again. Read for next seekers.
Unfortunately the log book is destroyed as someone has left container open
Couldn’t find it. Had to leave though as it was starting to get dark. Would like to come back.
That one was on my radar for a while, so close to our friends place. I enjoyed reading about the history and telling the story to the kids and the old bridge didn't disappoint!
The cache was eventually spotted. Cool little adventure!
Tftc!

Great little explore there. The kid’s loved it. Just a word of advice though for anyone who brings kids with them - keep them close by as there’s a serious slip hazard into the river. Great cache to find on a drizzly day. Thanks!
A great day for caching, with a reasonable quick find, Loved reading the History
re this bridge, it's a pity that one day it will be gone along with its history.
Thanks for bringing me here Solomonfamily.

It's almost five years since we found our last Solomonfamily cache. Must get out this way more often.
Cruising through today with +Wife and our GeoMutts, EveTheStaffy and MaxTheCollie.
What a grouse old bridge this is.
Yet another relic highlighted by geocaching.
We noticed that tomorrow is the 11th anniversary of this cache too.
Well done. Thank you.

IT certainly WASN'T ME as I was at work but it was the other half of the team enjoying a day out in the Hurstbridge area caching with good mates. He loves old bridges so nothing would stop him from exploring and taking several photos before getting down to business and finding the cache.
Thanks Solomonfamily for the placement.

Never mind Burke - what about Shaggy?
Unlike music, in caching there is no streaming. Unless you count the stream under this dodgy bridge.
Shaggy only had 3 hits and they were "Boombastic", "Oh Carolina" and his biggest hit "It wasn't me!" So he releases a greatest hits 'Essential' album in 2012, and *It wasn't me* wasn't on there . Were the other songs that good? Nah, just goes to show that music is subjective and when record studios put together a hits compilation they sometimes obviously ignore the charts and sales figures.
Nothing subjective about caching, though - only 1 GZ, only 1 logbook. We signed it.
Thanks solomonfamily.

Man, do not walk over this bridge. Sketchy as hell!
A nice spot to check out on a midweek adventure day. Thanks for placing this for us to find.

Cache notes: do not walk over this bridge. What do we do? Walk straight over. Sketchy as hell b it fun challenge to make the cache that much harder. Maybe we are just idiots. Who knows? Tftc
Was pretty good to find the location was a bit off but managed to find! With bec8989 and rob.
Cool old bridge! Found with queenasha and muggle Rob, and also my 3 year old son, took something left something.
Imagine the different vehicles that would have crossed that bridge. Great cache. Thanks for helping us see some history of the area

Travelling home from from work in a very much round about fashion but on such a nice afternoon, it's nice for it to not be dark, come on Summer, just around the corner now
It's an interesting concept, it's not save to go on top of the bridge but it is safe to go under the bridge
**Thanks for placing this cache Solomonfamily**

This was the team's forth find of the day after liberating Dreamy Bear and he wanted to visit some bridges so we did. Cache was a quick find as it was in the open. Log was duly signed and cache duly rehidden and covered over. The Inspector may or may not of crossed over the bridge whilst looking for this cache as dreamy wanted to take on some adventure . Anyway TFTC from the inspectorrexteam
Found the cache on the way home from the op shop. What a lovely spot this is and I loved learning the history of this spot.

I met King & Queen Solomon yesterday whilst visiting with friends. He encouraged me, if we had time, to come visit one of his caches, which we did We then decided then to make a quest to visit all the solomonfamily caches today before I left for home. I enjoy visiting places like this and thinking of the history that goes along with it. Thanks, solomonfamily. for the cache and the history lesson. 1:40 pm
Had a spare day so I picked an area on the map that I have not visited before.
I visited Yan Yean Reservoir Park first for a walk then went off in search of a few caches that this area had to offer.
So is anyone really sure who this bridge is named after.
I don’t think much traffic has used if for awhile.
Thanks for the history lesson about the area.
Thanks Solomonfamily TFTC.
