Sneaky spot, spent far too long looking for this one! But it's always fun exploring rocks so I can't complain. All in good condition. Tftc
Found after an unnecessary climb when I spotted it while going thr right direction. Hohum. I'd enjoyed the climb anyway. TNLN-TFTC!

Heading north with richlink on our way to Darwin and beyond enjoying the spectacular scenery and finding a cache or two along our route.
As richlink had previously found these caches, they headed back to camp while we negotiated the tracks conducting maintenance where necessary. Thanks Bushies2

A late log...
We decided to park the geovehicle roadside and adopt the sandy walk option, good choice, pretty rugged tracks...
We enjoyed our afternoon walk through these spectacular rock formations, the sun highlighting the Kimberley red, searching for the clever cache containers, we managed to find all 5 in the vicinity, too much unlove on this cluster of geocaches, TFTC's Bushies2

I was just about to give up. I told myself I’d look in one more spot and there it was! Epic hunt, beautiful scenery. Thanks!
Beautiful area and spent a bit of time looking for it. But my muggle friends not very patient so gave up.
Beautiful scenery in a slightly remote spot. Expect to walk through long grass and rocks.
The last one to do in the city if ruins. This was a nice sized container with some goodies in it. Added a goody, took the TB and a path tag. It was dark by now so we were glad we had finished the set. TFTC
Find 4 of 17 with 1 DNF on an action packed day, with a whirlwind tour of Kununurra and then out to Emma Gorge for a fabulous walk/swim/meal and return under the stars.
Set off walking to join these 5 caches up together and even though it was only about 9am it was pretty warm. This was much tougher than we expected but we did it, with a lot of scratchy bush bashing and not much track walking. Amazing landscapes all around and some good finds. Took a while to get the right spot. Just about avoided a huge web, Dropped off a TB.
TFTC Bushies2!

Out for a morning of caching in the City of Ruins. Beaut spot but sheesh, she’s a bit warm.
Found all the caches ok and ended up going for a quick dip at Ivanhoe with the locals. Gee, it was nice but I wasn’t in there for long.
Dropped off a TB here.

We got up early this morning to try for these before the heat of the day. So pleased that we made the effort. TFTC Bushies2 Left a pathtag
Coordinates were spot on for this one so we located it relatively quickly. Great hiding spot. Enjoyed the unusual rock formations in the area. TFTC
Outnabout and having some success with these. Lucky find in a great hide. TFTC
TFTC - bit of effort when in to this one. Left a trackable in this cache to be moved on.
Continuing on with my trip around the top end finall y got to Kununurra.
Dropped the camper off in the park and time to do a tour of the town
Found this one on the way back from the Hoochery.
Note to one self don’t drive a near new cruiser in here if you don’t want bush pinstriping on it.
Intersesting formations to look at but not fun to be walking around in 40 degree heat.
Thanks Bushie2 TFTC.

Almost gave up on this one, but my amazing wife made it her first official find. ( I’m officially not married to a maggot any more!!!!!
The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 14. A morning in and around Kununarra was followed by a Ord River crossing as the Ivanhoe crossing and a back roads trip to Wyndham for dusk.
These two ruins caches presents so many rock holes and crevices that they both took way too long and I decided to skip the rest for another visit.
Thanks.

My last day in Kununurra before heading back to Canberra in the afternoon. I had been planning to use the morning to gather some caches, so was glad of the lack of rain. I wasn't about to test my hired soft roader on the tracks (especially after rain) so enjoyed a good walk instead.
This of course was the logical starting point and pretty much set the scene for what was to come. A quick find than onto the tracks proper. TFTC

We headed off this morning towards Kununarra to have a couple of night with friends there and of course the journey wouldn't be the same if we didn't stop for a few caches along the way.
After coming to a dead end on the first one we attempted we found another way in and followed it around to gz. It was a little bit sandy in places and we started thinking that we should have left the camper and come back without to look for these but we were committed now so pushed ahead. We got close to gz and went for a walk in amongst some great looking rocks which allowed for some great pictures to be taken. The cache took a little while to find and when we did it was right where the GPSr was pointing, it was just a matter of cache blindness.
Again many thanks bushies 2 for the cache.

Trudging along the fine sandy track then bush bashing came up with this one with Juju54 TFTC
Tftc. Thought we would snap up this set before doing the dinner shopping tonight. 2/6
We have taken the little purple thong and will continue its journey onwards. Will log it out when we can sit down
Hi there Bushies2 - while stopped in Kununnura during our 2016 Northern Adventure TWO decided to let me have *another* day out by myself to pick up some caches that were too rough for her to accompany me. This was our find number 4134 - SL. Thanks to Bushies2 for the cache.
Out early before it gets too warm! Enjoyed the hunt for this one .... Thanks Bushies2 for bringing us here
At last an opportunity to visit this location. Found 2 but will return another year when I am more mobile. Very intriguing place

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which was to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. We then spent a few days in Sydney with geocaching friends efore flying on to the Gold Coast for the fourth leg of our travels, that included visits to Lamington National Park, Noosa and an overnight trip out to Fraser Island. We then flew from Brisbane to Cairns, where we spent a couple of nights before heading out to the birding hotspots of Yungaburra and Daintree. Following on from a visit to Cape Tribulation we turned to Port Douglas. After a day out on the Great Barrier Reef we returned to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs and the fifth leg of our travels, which was a wonderful week driving the circuit to and from Ayers Rock in our 4x4 camper. On returning to Alice Springs we then flew on to Darwin, where we picked up another 4x4 camper. We are currently making our way towards Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
Once again geocaching took us to another fabulous location - this time the "City of Ruins", that we wouldn't have visited or even known about had it not been for geocaching. We also had a great deal of fun on the 4WD tracks, having successfully disabled the highly restrictive big brother tracker in our 4WD hire vehicle that Britz has untold boundaries, for despite their so called "No Boundaries" logo - to the degree that we wonder why on earth they rent out 4x4's when they don't want the vehicles to do what they are built for or go where they are made for! - still, always nice to break the rules and use our 4WD hire vehicle for what we had hired it for! This was a nice quick find at Ground Zero. Thanks so much for the cache.

As part of our huge WA 4WD trip we had a few days to explore Kununurra and surrounds following the Gibb River road crossing.
This was an excellent place to visit to add to so many other excellent places. We searched for a little bit as the GPSr tried to settle while but managed to spot the prize fairly quickly.
TFTC yet again Bushies2

Today we visited the City of Ruins a stunning location that we would have visited if it was not for geocaching. We enjoyed the cache containers and adding to our favourites. Took TB.
Thanks Bushies2 for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Great hide. Took a little while as my gps is about 20 Metres off. Lucky for photos. Left a trackable!
Found after a slight rock climb - not bad for an oldie with a bad knee. Geo hub was more interested in taking pictures of these amazing rock formations.
Took whistle, left medal, hero card, fridge magnet and a one hundred dollar note.
Thanks for the cache bushies2
Wombat the Anthus laptop Geocoin visited, as did Runcible's Grasshopper!

Found after a bit of a scramble around! These rocks must affect the gps as it was all over the place. Found by following the most consistent indication!

After a roadside encounter with the city, I continued along the track that I had found.
And being the lazy sort of cacher that I am, I couldn't be bothered dropping the tyre pressures on the geomobile to tackle what looked like a short stretch of sandy track
Gawd !!
I hope I don't meet somebody coming the other way !!
We will both be stuck !!
But hey the fun had begun and I was thankful of all my years of 4WD experience to navigate the huge bulk of the Hilux around the twisty, sandy tracks
And soon, lo and behold was a spot with rocks to park on !!
From there I launched my foray into the ruins to find me a cache
Hey !! Nice easy find thanks to a keen geocaching eye [^]

This was our 6th cache find in a caching run of 8 Finds & 0 DNFs today.
We found it at 10:33 so this now makes our total find count 6955.
[blue]
The Geo-Jeep handled the sandy terrain very well. Our concern was that the tracks we traversed weren't on any maps or in the GPS. The tall grass didn't help visibility either. Google satellite view did help though.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Around 2 metres).
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge

Just like a city of ruins, never know what's around the corner. Could easily get lost in here. Retrieved the TB. TFTC Bushies2:)
After a short walk Geodad had this one in hand. Interesting formations. They reminded us of The Lost City at Litchfield National Park.

This one was a bit quicker than #2 for me. The coords were pretty good too, thanks Bushies2.
Thanks for the cache! Sending Raymond off on his next leg of his journey after 5 months in the aircon!
Having had success with the first cache hunt in the area, we headed off for the next one. It didn't take long on "shank's pony" to get near GZ but it took as about 20 minutes of scrambling and searching to locate this one. When we did find it, our reaction was "Why did this take us so long?". Then off to the next one. TFTC Bushies2
Found at 12.20pm GAFF1. We certainly made that a lot more difficult than we should have! We followed the GPS and looked at the terrain rating of a whopping 3.5 so thought we were on the right track - but in the end the cache was found in a very simple spot.
Fascinating scenery and absolutely no one around.
Thanks Bushies2.

Thanks to Bushies for bringing me to the great & interesting area, this cache and the nearby caches. Dropped my pathtag into the cache.
Looks like I will not get time to do any of the out of town caches on this trip, maybe next time.

Walked in to get this one in the cool of the early morning, I couldn't see the city, but these formations are still very impressive. Things are starting to grow back now after the fires, to add another colour to the mix Great spot nice hide.
