So I found it. It looked like it has been muggled as it was tossed in a hollow log near the foot bridge. It was completely empty with no log. Just an opened container. I believe this cache is abandoned. I messaged the owner close to a month with no reply.
I first logged this as DNF back on the 16 July 2017, I messaged the CO the same day asking to have the coordinates checked, to date I have not received a reply. Today after spending an hour looking for the cache, I found it, opened, empty and it looks like it has just been tossed into an open log, (I think it has been muggled).
Due to the no reply to my message, I believe this cache is abandoned.

Today, after earlier communications with EDF, I stopped off at the cache's final GZ and can confirm that the cache container is definitely NOT where I had found it previously. Checked all around in similar spots, and around the ground, but nothing was found.
Came after dark last week and gathered the clues except the elephants, which ironically are the hardest to miss. Had a guess at the number of elephants which was wrong and could not find it in the dark anyway. Came back today in the daylight but even with the right number of elephants and the offset I failed to come up with it. I will return!
Wonderful walk around park. Thank you to previous loggers too for adjusted coords. Great cache thank you
After finishing Oh the Botany! I collected the clues for this one. Soon found myself back in some familiar territory. Used the corrected coordinates in a previous log and fairly soon had cache in hand. Then realised I had lost my pen somewhere in the bushes, though I doubt I could have signed the wet log anyway. Can provide photo of container if desired.

Found with TaurusSix. Thanks to an earlier log. I still count myself luck for poking the right spot.
This one took awhile after we all contributed to calculating gz; thank goodness someone read some previous logs. Also saw some nice water dragons on the way. TFTC shod.
A great little series this morning, thanks for the efforts of placing this series so accessible for so many, cheers TFTC
We were looking for a cache for our 1300th (unofficial) Milestone and this one looked to be a good prospect, being close to my work location and at a park that sounded worthy of exploration. So last Sunday I visited Sir Joseph Banks Park and had a very pleasant stroll around it’s numerous pathways, collecting the required information as I went. And with all of the information found, and the final GZ coords calculated, it was off to find the prize.
Well that’s where the trouble started, as I failed to locate the cache container. Looked for a while but then started to doubt my calculated coords, thinking I must have missed something, and decided to call it quits for the day.
The following day I contacted the cache’s previous finder and asked them for a check of my calculated coords, as there was no geochecker available on the cache web page, and they confirmed my coords to be correct. So back to the park I went, searching all around GZ for over half an hour, but once again finding nothing. Again contacted the previous finder, who kindly supplied me with an extra hint, and so it was to be yet another trip back down to the park for yet another look.
At this point I was very suspicious of the accuracy of the GZ coords and, as I had now thoroughly searched a distance of about 20 metres around the GZ coords, I started looking at 20+ metres from the coords. And within a couple of minutes of searching I uncovered the hide, some 24 metres from the GZ coords, with the Garmin 62s indicating an offset of **- 0.007° (from the southings) & - 0.012° (from the eastings).**
The cache container was quite wet inside, but I still managed to sign the soggy log sheets, and then replaced the container as found. Was unable to dry it out due to today’s wet weather. Also picked up the wet & lonely TB, which I will move on to a cache on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Thanks for the interesting historic park and cache **Shod**, and thanks **Brother Colin** for all the help.

Find #1300
I have recently moved into the area to house sit for a few weeks.
So today I took the dog for a walk again to find a few of the caches in the park.
I answered a few of the questions the other day while here and got the final answer or two today. [^]
GZ proved a little tricky to get to as a tree has fallen over but we got there in the end.
A quick fine once at GZ because the cache was on the ground. Unfortunately it was also full of water. I carry a lttle rag just for these occasions. So I sat on the fallen tree and proceeded to dry the container and the log book as much as possible. [^] Re hid it according to the hint with a little extra cover to protect it from the rain.
Thanks for the cache.

Found today after some huntng around at GZ - low on the tree, not within a branch as per clue. It was an easy spot after I foud the right tree (not exactly at the co-orindates, so had to search a number of trees).
Collected the clues as we went on various walks with the geokids (mainly to the playground!) and worked out the approx length of turtles in the park based on the other clues, but I did get it slightly wrong! Thanks for this cache, a nice walk around the park, particularly in the evenings in this hot weather.
TNLNSL, all in good order.

Found lying on the open ground. Placed under cover at base of a nearby tree. Not sure if that was original location.
Found it right out in the open. Put it back where I suspected it was originally, but will call for maintenance just in case. Thanks for the adventure
Not sure what went wrong here, couldn't see the log, will bring geowife next time with her better eyes. I wanted this one to complete the botany park. Never mind, it was a lovely day walking around doing the other ones.
Attending a birthday picnic in the park with a group of families, plenty of food, played croquet, lots of fun. Took time for a walk and a quick cache grab ( we found the rest of the series before, collected the clues for the mystery cache and for this one but didn't have time to get them all). Today I found Sir Joseph and the Joseph Banks Park Mystery Cache. Sir Joseph was close to GZ tucked in the loose paperbark at the base of the tree rather than wedged in between the branches of the tree, but close enough!
Did the walk and found all the relevant signs well and worked out gz from the numbers we had. Once at GZ doubted those numbers a few times, but in the end made the tricky find!

This is a really great park ( with a great amount of caches too!)
We visited at the weekend and did the leg work, collecting the info from the signs but didn't have time to head over to GZ.
Fast forward a couple of days and we were back in the area so made the quick grab.
Really enjoyed the walk and learning all about the park, it's history and it's inhabitants

Nice easy one to work out but much harder to find as the clues don't match the hide. Found with geofriend Bluewattle, TFTC
TFTC Found info and solved GZ when we came and did the Joseph Banks Park series, only got back today to get this CIH & SL. My calculated GZ was close to where I found the GC, but it was on the ground in plain view but behind the trees (possibly not visible from path). It did not match up with the Hint. I left it at the same place I found it but better hidden in the tree still partially visible if you are close to it. i took the Cornish Flag TB to move it on. A great park with a good number of GCs to make a good outing there, especially for GeoFamilies including GeoDogs.
Hi- could the next finder of this cache confirm whether our TB is in the cache or not- there has been no mention of it since it was dropped off in June. It is a Cornish flag- black and white. It has survived being lost before- getting washed up on a beach like all good pirates should. Thanks
8/12/14. 3:15 PM. Cache #2059. Streak day #169. 3rd cache for the day. With the car parked near "Mill Stream Planespotting", I had found that cache and come to this park on foot, via "Contain Your Excitement". Luckily the storm front had bypassed the area and the rain had stopped, but it was now very humid.
It was easy enough to find the plaque with numbers for sand and hectares, and to find the standing elephants, but then my searching hit a brick wall and I couldn't find any details about black swans or turtles on any plaques. After doing a couple of laps of what I thought was likely to be the limit of plaqued area (not the whole park, but I turned around after I hadn't seen any plaques for ages), I sat down to rethink my strategy.
I googled black swans and NSW freshwater turtles (hoping that I had picked the right species), and came up with a possible set of numbers. I went to this new location and had a quick, half-hearted search (not being confident that my numbers were correct). After a while, I sort of gave up and started heading back towards the walkway over Foreshore Drive, to move on. But while I walked back, I texted a past finder and thankfully they got back to me quickly and confirmed that my coordinates were right. Google for the win!
Back to my calculated GZ I went, but now with the confidence of knowing that it was right. With more help texted back to me by my helper, I still took a while, but eventually made the find. Not the nicest part of the park, really, is it. Glad that I could clear this one. I also took a photo for smirkwood. Then back on foot to the car at "Mill Stream Planespotting", and then drove on a bit further to look for "The Maze". TFTC }:)

This was the first cache Mandalf and I attempted today. We really enjoyed walking around the park looking for the plaques - the trepidation that came with spotting a plaque and not knowing whether or not it would be one that we were looking for. Unfortunately, however, we didn't understand GZ. The past logs really confused us - Is the hint still valid or is it actually near the base of a different tree now, 1m away? Why you would move a cache to a different hiding spot, I do not know, maybe they had a legitimate reason. Anyway, I will keep an eye on this one...
Fortnuately I had my bike on this one ^^ his park in wonderful and the final is a bit risky haha. I will need new shoes.
Thank you for getting me there

Got all the clues on an earlier visit. Day off during school holidays. Nice trek off the beaten track. Nearly fell in the water. TFTC
Very much enjoyed the walk around the park collecting the information to solve the puzzle!! The gully near GZ was full of water after all the rain we've been having lately, so approached from a slightly different angle. Have to be honest, this wasn't really the nicest spot to go looking for a cache, with catchy vines everywhere Found it eventually, more by accident than anything (heard an unusual noise when poking around with long umbrella). Replaced cache about half a metre from where we found it, near the base of the nearest tree. TFTC
Enjoyed this one with Felix the spy, Arwen21, monkeydoodle_k, her parents, and Amy the geodog. Certainly makes you do some walking. GZ is best approached from downhill! My phone had GZ about 3m further into the tangle than its actual position. TB "Return to Roserrow" dropped off. TFTC!
I had a little trouble getting to it but it was easier than we thought it was.

After dropping my son and a friend at the airport very early I came over to this great park to find the couple of caches I didn’t have time to get last visit.
I started gathering the information concurrently for this one and “Ahh the Botany” and also popped over the footbridge and along the shared path to pick up “Mill Stream Planespotting”.
After returning from Mill Stream I stumbled across the last bit of information I needed for this one. I did my calculations and was soon at GZ, which I managed to do without getting my feet too wet. It’s not the most pleasant of places with all that Lantana about but it’s probably a safe place to hide a cache.
It’s an excellent multi/mystery, thanks Shod.

Great multi to find out more of the fascinating history of this park. At the cache, met the obligatory spider webs before a quick find. Thanks.
Yebo, what a great day to walk I'm this park! Got all information and strolled along - ahem wrong path, doubled back and picked the most likely one heading to GZ - ahem wrong again, doubled back and took the last option to see GZ about 3 m away, water in my way, so doubled back again ( face palm) and had cih - pew but it's worth it
I really enjoyed this park, the many planes overhead, and the traffic just far away enough

Phew that was a good walk in the park. Must say raindoctor and I spent a fair while at GZ, luckily the gully wasn't too wet today. Again my caching partner in crime came up with the goods - thanks for doing all the dirty work and clearing the path of spider webs. Thanks shod for bringing us here, learnt a whole heap of new facts bout the wildlife of the park
And just a side note, a rabbit also dashed across our path on the way to GZ, I couldn't find its burrow though!

Luckily for me and misspalot we found the answers without too much trouble albeit using a car between some of the plaques. Misspalot did the calculations which made life easy for me and then in my usual fashion I took the lead with getting to GZ and... Of course lead her the wrong way. After back tracking we got to GZ (where misspalot wanted to go originally!). It took a bit of searching and a few spider webs but we got there in the end. Yay!

Glad to get this one scratched off after a few years of looking (not constantly).
Could've sworn I'd checked there.

TFTC shod,
At long last I can log a find (Joint find with nana nel) for this cache. The saga started ever so long ago now with descriptive signs missing and the wrong answers obtained from the web. When I finally had the end location worked out, the cache was missing and a wait began. Then there was a false alarm when a cacher loged the wrong cache and removed the entry. This morning I received notification that the container was in place and I returned to see how scratched I could become again in an attempt to finish with a find. In the end it was so easy. Thanks shod for bringing me here. The location is now a regular part of my cycle programme.
Visited a group of trackables and swaped one.

I have this on my watch list and an email came in to tell me it had been found.
That was enough to send me back and again after a good 1/2 hour searching, still no luck. Checked all the info panels and am sure I am at the correct location.
Did another cache in the area to get a good feeling for myself.
Having a look at the cache this afternoon, there is no found log and checking the finders details, the find listed this morning has been removed. It was a false alarm.
Look forward to the CO advising it is OK.

I tried to locate this cache some time ago but failed when I was not able to locate the information for the Swan.
Everything was in place today when we returned with Mugggle friends for a walk in the park.
Unfortunatly, even with the coordinates taking me to GZ and an obvious set of paths where people had searched, it wasn't going to be a walk in the park for me today. The ground was dry under foot and I was able to approach GZ from both directions which helped me to reinforce in my mind that I was looking in the correct location.
After a good half an hour searching within 10M from where my GPS indicated GZ to be and both nana nel and myself suffering as a result of scratches from the Lantana, we gave up.
Lets hope the CO does a check and advises what the status is. I will place it on my watch list.

Found all coordinates but couldn't find it. Wasn't really prepared for having to get into lantana. Hope the recent rains and flooding didnt wash it away. Will try again one day.
I tried for this one several weeks ago and did the circuit to collect the required info. but missed out on one plaque. As it was getting dark and cold I decided to come back another day. Well, today was the day and after another circuit I found the missing plaque, did some calcs and then it was off to the final GZ. I tried several different approaches before reaching the GZ and must have walked right over the container a couple of times before I finally spotted it. Thanks shod for showing me this lovely park and a bit of Sydney's history. TNLN. By the way, did I mention that I hate lantana?
Drove down from my hotel in Bondi to spend a morning in the Botany Bay Area.
Really enjoyed the stroll around the park, although missed the plaque with the sand used on the first circuit!
Having solved the puzzle I made my way to the GZ. Being from England and not being a big fan if spiders I didn't enjoy the trek through the undergrowth but I was determined to get the cache after all the time and effort put in.
Sure enough, despite the webs and skittery lizards I soon had the cache in hand, log signed and then retreat!
Thanks for bringing me here and for the entertaining cache.

Definitely no good accessing from the southwest. I ended up taking a longer path from the northwest.

Somehow i am known around my friends as the geocaching expect. I dont like calling myself that but after this cache i can see why they call me that. All the hard work had been done for me on this one and all we had to do it find the geocache. They led me to the GZ and within a few seconds of digging around the cache was in hand. I couldnt help but laugh.

I had such a great cyclo-caching outing when I last visited, decided to introduce a friend and a geo-newbie to this cache. Was a bit concerned about the two recent DNFs but figured it'd still be a great day out cycling in a nice park ... so off we went. See Smigglepot's log for their (unassisted, of course!) find.
On Lonely_Rooster's suggestion, we came cycling in the park. After collecting all the hints, we worked out GZ quite quickly. LR suggested approaching from the North as it has been dry for weeks and we could watch our bicycles while searching. After a lot of scrub-brushing, finally found the cache. SLTNLN TFTC.
After confirming GZ with maintainer I spent about 20min in the area looking but found nothing.
After frustratingly attacking the bush from both sides, still no sight of the cache...
The logs suggested a long distance around to the cache, so came on an MTB.
The clues were reasonably straight-forward and made for a nice cycle tour of the park. Did get distracted about the elephant clue having a 'false pachyderm sighting' at first.
On the way to the calculated coordinates, decided to ride to as close as I can get, so approached from the 'unrecommended' direction. Luckily, it has been a dry spell.
The vegetation made the GPS dance all over the place. So got seriously scratched up and spiked by the creepers and crawlers while searching. I kept replaying in my head the Sleeping Beauty story, the bit where all the princes that came looking were snared by the brambles and briars and died very slow deaths.
Was chucking it in and on the way back to the bike when I literally tripped over the cache. It was less than a metre from where I parked the bike!
Log a little moist but container seems in reasonable condition.
Thanks for a nice cycle ride out to an excellent park.

Thanks for clearing the area out, I'd never have known where to get in otherwise.
Tip for new cachers (like me): don't try and use BODMAS to work out the coordinates!

The kids thought the treasure hunt was great. After skateboarding accidents and the resulting grazed elbows and knees we had got to the point where optimism had faded. Through the bush thankfully(for my reputation) was the cache. The GPS on the iphone seems to take some time to update which adds its own challenges. Thanks for the entertainment.
I must have gathered all this info about twelve months ago and my first attempt at finding the cache was foiled by dense bushland. It was time to have another go so with a little time to spare before a plane flight, I wandered back to where I calculated GZ. This time I approached differently and got to within 8m and then I noticed the "new path". I was able to scurry into GZ and find the cache safely hidden. Signed the log and returned as found. Thanks shod for a very well thought out Puzzle cache. TFTC

Day 1: A pleasant late-afternoon stroll around the park provided most of the information we needed, but with darkness approaching, we decided to leave it for another day and headed home.
Day2: Mr Ozjeeper headed off by himself to grab the last remaining piece of information and having obtained it, found our previous notes were still at home. With the sun once again sinking slowly in the West he headed off home cacheless once again.
Day 3: We had read previous logs about a nearby bakery and with the information gathered and the mathmatics completed, we headed off on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning planning to have a leisurly breakfast and then do some caching. The bakery was extremely busy and the queue was out the door so we decided to cache first and breakfast later. We headed off towards GZ. With no access from the North, we proceeded to try and approach the cache from every other compass direction that we could, failing to get within about 15 meters of where we needed to go to. Scratches, thorns on Mrs Ozjeepers hand and spider-webs all over us forced us to eventually retreat for a much-delayed (and not really all that great) breakfast.
Day 4: With our calculated coords for the cache confirmed by the cache owner, Mr Ozjeeper once again ventured out by himself to give it a go - only to be once again thwarted by inpenetrable bush and prickly vines. At least this time he returned home injury-free.
Day 5: With an email from the cache-owner indicating that the lantana near GZ had been cleared away to provide a less-painful access to the cache site and a hint as to what to look for, we decided to give this one another try. With continual AFL broadcasts on the TV, Mrs Ozjeeper could not be coaxed out of the warmth of our house so Mr Ozjeeper braved the strong winds for a final solo attempt. The cleared pathway to the cache site was obvious and this time around a quick find was made. His GPSR still put the calculated GZ some 30 meters away from where he was actually standing.
Thanks Shod for your encouragement and assistance. It's a well-executed cache that takes you to a park that you might not oherwise perhaps not visit. You get to learn some fascinating local history and some facts about the local wildlife. The container is well-placed out of obvious direct access by other people using the park . This one is definately worth a visit

Worked out the coordinates for this one a couple of weeks ago but the cache eluded us. After confirmation from the CO that it was actually still there we went back today for a speedy find. Funny how you sometimes
miss these things first time around! Thanks for checking this one for us. Great location. Use to play here as a child. Was great to come back here with my own children. They got to see where mummy first learnt to ride a bike! This was definitely one of my favourites TNLN SL TFTC!!

All good. Just checked. A lot of Lantana had grown over, making it prickly and hard to get to. The recent rains has filled the area nearby, so make sure you approcah from the west end of the water. I have cleared our a lot of the Lantana, to make the cache more accessible.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
Just went to check on the cache .
1. The creek next to it is flooded. So had to clamber through lantana/spiders to the spot
2. I could not find it.. though I didn’t have the actual cords on me.
3. The whole area is far more overgrown now.. maybe with all the rain in the past few mths.
I will go back with actual coords.. so I take the change to the scenary out of the equation.
If lost ill create Sir Joseph .. the sequel.

Was looking for this one half a year ago at my early days of geocatching. The Coord's were correct, now with a little bit more experience an easy find. TFTC for showing me that park, close to one of my favorite breakfast spots in Sydney, Artisan bakery at Botany Road.
Thanks your mystery. Nice was walking around lakes and search correct numbers.

Brilliant cache - spot on location - quite hard to get to but no chance of being found by muggles. Cheers.
This was a most enjoyable mystery cache. I loved walking around the park collecting all the information. Certainly was a walk in the park!! Once I calculated final co ords set off to GZ. I found I was on the wrong side of a small stream, which I don't think I could make the jump without getting wet feet so I chose to go by the dry side. Quite a bit of bush bashing required from that side, but even with the tree cover, co ords are spot on at GZ. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Visited here after work last week and soon realised - this is a bike cache. Returned today with the family and bikes & had a great ride around collecting the clues. Some confusion with the final cache location but found it in the end. Thanks for bringing us to a nice park. Kids loved the playground.
This one took us two laps of the lake and all sorts of rude words were said at our stupidity!?!
Soon we had some likely co-ordinates and we soon found a dry way in and found the cache.

Great little treasure hunt! On foot today, we did a lot of walking but learned a lot about the park and local history. First representative rugby league game played here in 1908 between South Sydney Possibles and Probables. Who knew! Collected the required information and headed to GZ. Eek! As per previous logs, lots of lantana. Not really keen to plunge through in shorts. So this time we used our heads. Found a way in behind the lantana and without having to cross the creek and there it was!! We suspect that the terrain may have roughened up a bit since the cache was first set. Thanks for the nice day, Shod. TN L the Sea to Shining Sea TB and a small Canadian flag pin SL TFTC Cheers........Gaztek
Rode here on our bikes after doing a nearby cache ( Mill Stream Planespotting). We all enjoyed finding all the plaques and the general history of the area. We had never been to this park before and although we knew there was a park here had no idea the wetlands etc were there. All in all a fun morning. We found getting all the info was the easy part but took a bit of a hunt to actually find /gz. Made some swaps here. TFTC and for bringing us here.
It was fantastic to finally complete this one. Like others the elusive Turtles evaded us the first time here several months ago. Today I was back to hide a GCA-Gnome in the park and parked at a different location from last time and to my surprise what was the first sign spotted but that elusive Turtles sign. I had already had narrowed the location of GZ down to 5 options, using Goggle Earth, so finding the sign confirmed which one was correct. Off to GZ and the water was a little deeper than I thought so now had one wet foot! Checked around GZ and was hoping that the tree cover was messing up my GPS just enough to keep me out of the lantana. Sadly that wasn’t to be so in I went and was rewarded with a quick find. Thanks Shod really enjoyed finding this one and exploring parkland with so much history attached to it. TNLN thanks.
Went round the lakes a couple of times but could not find the plaque with the information about swans. We're either going blind or council has removed it for repairs or something. We used Wikipedia plus a guess for the missing information and must have got it right because the cache was right where we guessed. Left a key ring, picked up a little torch. Thanks!
2nd try - the rain and wind stopped me last time.
Today was warm and sunny, and there were quite a few muggles around as I wandered.
An interesting wander, and worth the stop, will bring the kids next time.
This was the first time I had struck a systema with GEOCACHE moulded into it.
Found a spot to leave a new cache nearby on the way home too.
Thanks.

Enjoyed wander around this area with help skyejam - she showed me around so beauty big park... Found the container - all good. No swap SL. Thanks for organising the puzzle and hunt.
This was an enjoyable walk around the park. As we were closing in on GZ Mr H was looking for the best approach in when a runner stops and asks if he was geocaching! Turns out it was a cacher that hadn't managed to find the cache yet. Fortunately, we were a bit luckier and spotted it after a few minutes. Remember doing a cache here a couple of years ago and reading the sign about the turtles then.

It's all so simple when you put the numbers in the right places! This has become one of my favourite walks. Hardly a soul around and great facilities. Thanks for bringing us here Shod. SL and Left finger torch for any night cachers out there. They're handy for signing logs in the dark!
Worked out GZ but a couple of council muggles working nearby made it impossible to search. Oh well, maybe next time! Always a good walk here with great coffee and pastries at Brasserie Bread to undo all the efforts thanks
