A day around Ayr combining caching and running in my new bike.
355k done and another area cleaned out.
I wasn’t really prepared for this and the thick motorcycle jeans made it hot going but the ammo can near the top was worth the effort.
Thanks for placing this. Have a favourite point.

Top spot in more ways than one. We enjoyed the hike up. Thanks and fav point alloc

Tftc HDSpringer, BL made the climb with lizandbruce while JL sat this one out.
Took the TB that was here.

02-Jul-20
A lovely walk with a very visible path to follow once on your way. Beautiful view at the top, and didn't take long to find once there but was a bit hesitant to grab the cache haha!

04-Jan-20
Found with orth71 who thought they were having a heart attack.
Bloody long walk.

Exploring the area we picked up a few caches and this was one of them.

A nice walk to the top, great views on the way up. Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

The hill looked steep but it was not as bad as I thought it would be. I skidded on the gravel a few times though especially on the way down. The cache was found no problem. More great views here.

11-Jul-19
Lovely view of an afternoon looking at all the cane fires!

25-Jun-19
Nice steady climb to grab this one. Nice vistas from many vantage points on the trail up. Thanks for placing the cache and bringing me up here.

28-Dec-18
Walked through the bush not the track on the way up, harder but not impossible - have a spider wacking stick handy.

19-Nov-18
Great walk up the track.
Thanx 4DÇ!

This type of cache is right up our alley - we love exploring out-of-the-way places with a bit of a climb thrown in. And we always love finding well-stocked ammo tins. Once at the top we were rewarded with a stunning view of the sugar cane fields below. Thanks HDSpringer for making our stay in Home Hill just that little bit more exciting. A well-earned fave from us. Cheers from Bindair Dundat and Princess Madelyn.

30-Jan-18
After work adventure. This cache made me sweat. Please remember to take some water on this trek. Lovely views on the way, even nicer then the lookout below. The guard got us as well

09-Aug-17
I have found this one previously but the view was worth another hike

15-Jul-17
This was a great cache to find, but i almost got in a fight with a wallaby.Tftc favourite point from me.

29-Apr-17
Omg sooo many spiders we were horrified the whole way bit found it lol

08-Apr-17
Wow! What a hike. It seemed like the trail hadn't been used for a while and was overgrown in places, we got hit by numerous grasshoppers, and there where spiders and webs all along the way (in brushing a very large spider out of the way, the wind caught it and it landed on my beautiful wife...after few terrified screams she was fine).
We finally reached gz and the difficult journey made finding it all the more exciting.
It really was a lot of fun and the views were wonderful.

12-Mar-17
Found it! Lots of spiders but a stunning view of the Burdekin. Thanks for the cache!

On a two day road trip to Townsville and return from Mackay.
Saw some very interesting and intriguing caches on my journey.
Sorry for the cut and paste logs but many caches were found.

Thanks to all CO's for hiding such a wide variety of caches.

Found while in town for work. Came up here to find the GCA trig point and noticed there was also a GC cache as well. great views if you walk up to the top. no TB in cache

Great hike to the top. Thanks for the hide

Couldn't find track markers but some bush savvy got us onto it eventually. Great walk for some PT! TFTC

10-Oct-15
TFTC. Nice view, very dry.

This is my second attempt at this cache. Last time i went home and read all the logs and took the
co ords for start of trail. I would never have picked this as the start point. I am thankful that i had joggers on. This is a good one to show me just how unfit i really am. It was worth all the scratches i had on my legs afterwards. There were no trackables at this location. TFTC

01-Aug-15
Tacked this other one today as well, after collecting the FTF on the birthday cache Smile. Wow how unfit are we....huffing and puffing up the hill. Had some issues finding the right track as there are different possible options on how to get to the top...got to within 80m and decided to bush-bash it. Of course once at the cache we found there was a trail on the other side of the hill.....like usual Smile
The view was beautiful from up there! TFTC sl tnln

01-Jul-15
Geo Dad and Geo Girl made it to the top and the view. 'Found' our own path for the last 100m or so up but was able to follow a easier path back down. Quick find and cache in good nick, swapped a slinky spring for a toy pen. S.L. Thanks for another interesting cache HD Springer - no way we would have come here otherwise!

08-Jun-15
Bit of an off road trek with 3 cachers under 7. Enjoyable though-good wild life.

04-Jan-15
Last find for the day, a hot walk up here in the early afternoon.
Good track all the way and the hide was in good condition even as it is more than 6 months since the last find.
Cooled off in the overflow from the water tank
Thanks for this cache

9:53:00 AM. Saw this one when we did the one close by. Back in the area to sse about work and decided to tackle it. A nice short hike had us at GZ and an easy find. At least the morning was cooler and the track fairly easy to follow. Great views up here. Thanks HDSpringer.

What a climb!!!
Lost the track a few times but eventually found it. It was a tough climb in the heat.

This cache is the largest I've seen so far since starting caching. Collected TB (N-JOYO). Other 2 listed TB's were not present.

Found what I set out to achieve today, spectacular views of the area, nice cloudless day with a nice wind....found a track for 80% of the way which is a record for me....ha! The other 20% was fighting of lantena but its all in the journey and what a fun story to tell later on Very Happy Droped of TB...

I detoured from the riverside and headed for a hill that sprouted quite a few antennae [:o]
Surely there is a road up there.
Well, there is, but you can't drive up it unless you have the keys Big Grin
So a walk up a hill was in order.

That's far more fun anyway [^]

I set off from the 'lookout' at the bottom of the hill.
And bounced an bounded over the rocks and gravel upwards.
I disturbed a lot of wallabies as I bounded Smile
And I soon found meself at the top, with still half a can of fizzy cola in me paw [:o]

The views across the patchwork landscape stretch on forever and I could even see the sea Big Grin
Last time I saw the sea I was in Wyndham, WA Smile

The cache was a nice easy find and is doing fine.

TFTC, the views, and of course the drive by cache Wink
(yes, I 've cached in the ACT too and can feel your pain)

Early finish at work today so I thought I'd come and pick off a few caches down this way while I had the time. Now this is the sort of place that only caching would have taken me. A big thumbs up from me.

what a mission but part of the alphabet road trip....... no turning back. 11 th to discover this hidden gem . we have never been here before and what a great hide , but what else would we expect from HDSpringer Wink sl. tnln. TFTC. [^]
best way to access this one is from the car park . instead of turning right down the road go left and up!!!Big Grin

What a great walk. Why do spiders build their webs at face height? Thanks for bringing us up here. Cheers

05-Jan-11
Try as we did for a week, we couldn't find a way to the top in our fourby. Sad The service road has recently had locks put on it, so we had to resort to the old 'foot falcon' . We certainly chose a hot day to do it....This was made a bit more challenging due to the fact that we had the geotoddler in the pram (for a short while) before ditching it and carrying him for most of the way up. [XX(] [XX(]
It was all worth it to get this rarely seen cache and see some great views. Saw a couple of rock wallabies on the way Smile Took blue marble, left caribena. No sign of the trackable! Thanks for the adventure HDSpringer

Good thing my dad knoew how to drive to top so we didn't have to hike as it was so hot. Found it straight away!

We could here voices ???????????

Two blokes working up on the tower.

The track is very good and the climb was pretty easy. Plenty of water and enjoy the views.

Thanks for placing this one.

With visitors from Denmark with found this just before dark. 5 more minutes and it would have been a NO FIND........

29-Aug-09
Surprise, surprise we have been here before to find Kelly's Veiw by Burdair. Took the track to start with but then Bubbles decided to follow the GPS, not such a good idea as there were some pretty nasty shrubs there and we both have the scratches to prove it. The goat track is pretty mild compared to the track we do on Castle Hill, so we wouldn't rate it as difficult. Took tattoo's and MF mirror left keyring, vegemite note book and magnet.Took Not another Micro TB, Left Lukes Shark TB and The green mean travelling Machine. TFTC.

Was going to give this one a pass but since running into burdair and he volunteered to show us the track up, I think he wanted an excuse to 4WD in the new car, well we drove up to the top of the hill and grabbed the cache, grabbed tb left swaps and TB not again yet another micro

06-Jun-09
For some unknown reason Mr Burdair was in a bit of a day dream this morning and missed the turn off to Mt Kelly which meant by accident we busted tigersden doing one of the nearby caches. We then doubled back with them to Mt Kelly as we wanted pick up a coin that had been placed in our cache. Tigersden were going to give this cache a miss as they had their cub with them but Mr Burdair was quick to mention there was a road up to the top of the hill. So up we went. Mr Burdair really enjoyed the drive up and tigersden were able to park super close to GZ so the cache was quickly found. It was great revisiting this cache as the views are definately impressive and it was nice actually meeting up with a few fellow cachers. Lovely way to spend the morning.

Well.......being an ACT cacher, and having been out an all day hike with the Geoson, I think this is a neat little climb. Maybe not as long or tough as some of the hills in Namadgi, but certainly not a driveby either. WinkWink

I took my time and after arriving at the top, soon had the cache in hand. From there it was a little further on to take a few photo's and then started the trip down.

Thanks HDSpring, nice to meet you.....virtually speaking of course. A fun walk and hunt. Left T/B and my pathtag.

Photo's attached.........

Finally had a chance to grab this one. It probably wasn't the coolest of days but we had heaps of water with us. The path certainly gives you a variety of views on the way up and everything is lovely and green after ALL the rain we have had recently. The sky was full of birds and dragonflies and we encounted a few rock wallabies but none of them willing to sit still long enough for a photo. The cache itself was an easy find. We only briefly enjoyed the views at the summit as it was pretty clear there was a lot of rain heading our way. We sort of lost the track on our way down but we were obviously heading in the right direction as we eventually found it again. TLNLSL Thanks for the cache.

Yet another FTF for me in the Burdekin, which is strange because i live in Cairns. I just seem to be passing through at the right time, or not passing through as the case is this time.
Decided to go caching today as i am trapped here by floods!! This is my third day stuck in Home Hill with no end in sight for the road closures. Oh well... What a beautiful place to be stranded, & the Burdekin River in full flow is an amazing sight to behold!

Took AFP badge & geocoin, left Louisiana magnet & pencil.
Great hide with a beautiful view!
TFTH! Smile
