The water was low enough that we were able to cross it by walking on stones. The cache was wet inside and the lid has a hole in it. I replaced the container upside down to limit new water getting in. The log is clean and dry in the plastic bag. TFTC
River was up today so the crossing was unpassable.

I took the goat track down to this one and I did slip of a slimey rock and got a boot full of water when crossing the creek.
I had been to this park quiet a few years ago and did not know about the ruins so I was glad to come back and find them.
After having a look at the ruins, I soon located the cache, signed the log and was soon on my way.
I’m taking the walking track so I can find a couple of earth caches on the way back to the Geowagon.
A favorite goes out to you for bringing me back here to see this.
Thanks Hypo_Mix TFTC.

Made the most of our beautiful weather and lack of rain for the last month or two. The creek was very low and an easy rock hop to the other side. Didn't even get the soles of my shoes wet. Once across just stay on the vehicle track, it takes you right to GZ and the ruins. The ruins are just another amazing feature to see here, real Pioneer stuff. The cache container lid needs some TLC. Gave the contents a plastic zippy bag to help protect it.
Thanks **Hypo_Mix**

The geo tribe made it through the nettles, over the log above the creek (staying more or less dry) and finally up the steep track to arrive at the ruins and the cache. No-one here. Good fun and a great little adventure so close to Melbourne TFTC
An exciting river crossing with the geo family! Thanks for the fun adventure
Thanks for this - I would never have known to look at the ruins otherwise! Waded the river in barefeet - it was only ankle deep today - see photo. Cache is all good
Visited the NP but the river was a tad too high for me to try today. Wil return!
Found for some Easter caching. The river was running kind of high, but not too bad. There was a skinny log and I thought I had a chance of getting across with dry feet... but only a few steps out I knew that wasn't going to be the case. Two wet feet, but a cache found
Out journey starts at the creek.
We arrived and could see that the creek water had covered the shallow Ford across. "Uh-oh! That's the end then? "
"Nope!
I think we can just make it across these rocks" I said hopefully, and stepped tentatively on to rock number one. It wobbled precariously.
I tentatively walked across and was relieved to get to the other side, went to check that there was a path through ... about 76% snakey, but it was there, so I came back. The older two children were confident they could go across alone, but I wanted to be sure they were safe, so I grabbed a support stick and went over again, ferrying each child, carefully across the rocks. The last one was scared and it didn't help much when I wobbled and leant too hard upon the stick, which snapped and caused me to lose my balance and my foot slipped... splosh! into the water.
I regained my balance and footing and took her across.
We walked across the snakey bit, and then onto the main track with much relief.
We went up the hill to the ruins which looked very interesting. The children observed that it would take a while to get home from the shops "all the way out here".
I took some photos and told them "if you fall in that well you will be in trouble" with my best stern eyebrow wiggling, to make my point.
I went to find the cache and it was unfortunately open. Someone had stuffed a large sanitary protection device in there which had swelled with moisture and popped the lid. I cito'd the Sani-pad and some other rubbish, and popped the lid on as well as I could.
We went back down to the creek finding a couple of good sticks on the way, and I ferried all of the children back across the creek.
In a move that I can only presume was due to being dizzy with the relief of making it across, my younger son tipped out about a litre of our drinking water onto the floor. I did get a bit frustrated with that.
We all walked back up the hill and tried to pick out where the ruins were from a vantage point - to be honest we couldn't!

DAY 8
I have visited this national park Organ Piper after the busy city sightseeing tour. It was 34 degrees and beautiful weather.
I have visited all geological interesting spots on the way and have solved the questions.
Great nature.
I had to cross the little river here with a nice view to find this cache.
I will give a favourite point here.
Thank you and best greetings from Germany
Team sissifalke
What an adventure! Too bad someone has dumped rubbish here
Thanks for taking us to this secret place!

While travelling with Mutex I’ve found a lot of caches all over Australia. You know, I like the discovering, especially in nature, but am not that much intopcs and internet ..and logging. So we spend a whole day together to indicate all the caches we found together out of his list. Hope you don't mind the standard text aslazy me has to log quitea few now. HopefullyI'm gonnawork on that
Thanks!

At the moment Pfote and me are on a work and travel backpacking trip through the world. After I've spent a full year in Australia Pfote joined me for my second year down here. We will definitely try to collect a lot of boxes and all the special things in every state all around and through the middle.
Today Pfote, Theatralis and me made a trip to the Organ Pipes National Park. Found three of four earthcaches and the traditional on a nice walk through this area.
TFTC and greetings from Germany.

Found after steep climb recoved cache out in the open and placed back where the clues refeered. Tough place to live back in the day
Steep walk with the geokids. Found cache in the open placed back where the hints indicated
Kids back to school so I thought I'd venture out on my own. Loved the walk and beautiful area. TFTC
This cache is super easy to find, pretty steep hills bit of a trek on a hot day. Left me pretty exhausted. The ruins are really cool and worth having a look
Last day for our holiday in Melbourne today and before we came we checked out the Calder park raceway ! Super cool and definitely worth walking around the thunder dome. Then after I dropped my trackable I brought from cairns and dropped it off here

Quick find with laird_au, geovegies and trek4ward. Very nice walk and cache site! TFTC
After a week of walking around seeing sights in Melbourne, we (trek4ward, C Yeo Later and laird_au) decided to head out here. If it wasn't for the cache, I would've given the hill a miss this time! Two geokids were more than over walking, by the time we crossed the creek. TFTC though!
Very picturesque old ruins here, although better now that the national park can be kept free of human habitation as far as possible. Found the cache with no difficulties, TFTC.
A trip to Organ pipes NP as soon as the rain stopped.
A bit muddy and slippery on the way here
Amazing number of interesting geological features in such a small area.
Thanks for the Cache

Great area for caching. Yes the residents had departed. All quiet here today. TFTCSL
After work tonight I did a run from Kielor to Hiedelberg to Plenty, grabbing what I could before the sun went down.
Arrived here at 4pm, and with gates closing parked at the very start. Managed to get all earthcaches and this one under 40min.
A fantastic spot here that i have never been to, however am very familiar with Jacksons creek, a creek I swam in at many different places of different ages.
Cache found in good condition. Nice views here. Cheers

I recently set myself a goal of making The Melbourne Event 2015 my 100th event and in order to do this, I have to attend almost every nearby event. I arrived for the Geocaching Melbourne Event about an hour early to enable me enough time to do the circuit walk down and back around, picking up the remaining earthcache and the only traditional in the park. Last cache for me down here before heading back up the hill to the event. A nice quick find, I grabbed the trackable out while I was here.

I was here at the Organ Pipes National Park for the event marking international earth cache day so only appropriate that we should tackle the other caches here in the park. The youngest Tarbit had lost interest by this stage so stayed with Mum on the other side of the creek whilst I jogged off to find this one. As I approached the cache I caught up with the party for the event which made it the easiest find possible for me. I had to make my excuses to the group as I headed off again to catch up with the family. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited a bunch of trackables that I'm taking to the Melbourne mega event next month. Thanks for the cache Hypo Mix.

Today being International Earthcache day 2015 I headed a long long way from home (40km away) to the event in the Organ Pipes National Park.
After a nice chat a small group of us traversed the whole park doing all 5 caches in the park.
We did come across an unexpected creek crossing on the way to this one but it didn't prove too much trouble and no one got wet.
I tried to be smart and headed off on a short cut but hadn't locked in the right cache so ended up going the same distance as the others that took the easy track route to the cache.
A nice easy find was made on arrival and a quick look around the ruins before heading back to the cars.
Thanks Hypo_Mix for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Found with a group after attending the event up at the top and then walking around getting the answers for the 4 Earthcaches in this park. I was hesitant to cross the river but got given a sturdy hand to hold and was away. Poo the smell over the other side of the crew was strong. Something dead there but didn't see anything obvious. Yuck. A nice walk up the road to the cache and log signed. Pretty hot work. At least it's downhill for a bit until we have to go back up to the cars. Glad to have made the day worthwhile. 6 smileys in an afternoon. Tftc
Stupid me, followed Spiffy up the steep hill.. I loved the ruins.. Thank goodness we had several kind gentlemen to help me cross the stepping stones. TFTC and the walk!
Found while doing the Earthcaches for Earthcache Day. Watched some bat folk climbing up ladders to check the bat boxes attached to the trees on the way. Another group were coming back across the stream as we approached so we watched them cross and tried to remember which rocks to stand on and which were wobbly. In the end it didn't help much LOL, but I got across safely with help from geodaughter.
Passed the stinky (dead animal) spot we'd been warned about, then to the hill. The hill was not my favourite part, especially since I knew we had another even steeper and longer one to get back to the car. Once at the top, despite the heavy breathing the cache was soon spotted after viewing the ruins, but we stayed away from the well after being warned about the stink.
Back over the creek and past more bat people, then up that never-ending hill to the picnic tables for a long drink and a rest before looking around the visitor centre.
Thanks for being part of our great day out on this beautiful Spring afternoon.

Today was International Earthcache Day 2015 so after attending an event and collecting the earthcaches in the park, a group of us headed to this cache. The creek crossing was rather treacherous for some but we all got across without anyone splashing. The smell at the creek was awful and the water level was quite high. We walked along the trail to GZ and once there, we made a quick find. The ruins were interesting and I was wary of the well. Left here very pleased that all the caches in the park have been found.

This was a fun cache to get to as I had to cross a small stream over some rocks. The ruins looked awesome and I found my first pathtag while signing the log book. TFTC
Moving today from Woodend to Berwick decided to stop here in the National Park for lunch.
After collecting the info for the Earthcaches, Mr felix was farewelled as he crossed the creek (without getting wet) whilst Mrs Felix trudged back towards the car and caravan.
He did manage to get wet later in a puddle though!
Cache located log signed, photos taken, and then the trudge back.

The small stream to get to the cache was a challenge with the water level up above the rocks and also slippery, then the walk up the hill made this a well earned find. An interesting spot for a building.
Be very careful in this area, especially with kids as there is an open well a few metres from GZ.
Thanks for the cache Hypo mix

I had previously done all the earthcaches nearby. Today it was time to revisit the OPNP, and pick up some trads. After crossing the creek (starting to flow a little stronger at this time of year) I was soon on my way uphill to the historic site.
The generous hints are a great idea in this particular location.
Even in the cool weather I had worked up a sweat by the time I got back to the car with ThePacgirl and TheSnoopy.
Thanks, Hypo_Mix.

Being international Earth day micaparamedic and ourselves decided it would be a good day to pick up some earth caches. We headed off to Organ Pipes National Park and while here could not pass a traditional so close.
Unfortunately about 120mts from GZ we came across a gate with “Conservation Area Keep Out” so we missed this one.

You weren't wrong about that hill! A very easy find while I was in the park working on the Earthcaches. I covered the cache up a bit more as it was quite exposed. Nice view from up here actually. TFTC.
My first cache was so much fun to explore the area and also watched a heard of kangaroos hop on by...just after giving us a death stare!

While in the Organ Pipes National Park today, I made the detour to come to this spot. And what a another great spot in the park this was. The old ruins was great to see. The creek was still low so a bit of rock hopping had me on the track and up the hill. By the time I made it, I was quite warm. Cache was found quickly. Stamped and returned as found.

Nice part of the valley, away from the crowded area. Easy to find but be prepared for a steep walk back.

I flew into Melbourne for the weekend to compete in a rogaine near Castlemaine. On the way there I dropped in at the Organ Pipes National Park, to stretch the legs and find a few caches. A fascinating place to visit. Managed to cross the stream with dry feet. Cache soon located. Took TB. TFTC.

Suscoe headed north today for a clean up the Western side of Melbourne caches outing.
A delightfully cool day greeted us as we headed around the various caches.
This was our 5th find of 23 for the day.
A delightful walk around this amazing location.
No music here today but there were plenty of planes taking off.
The creek was up a little and the stepping stones came in handy.
The crimson rosellas were delightful walking companions for a while.
Thanks to Hypo Mox for the cache out here.

I missed doing this one when I was in the park last weekend doing the earthcaches, so I decided to pick it up on the way home from work today.
I used the small track from behind the toilets to get down, rather than the main bitumen path. It was a small goat track on the side of the steep hill. A lot of fun, but definitely not for the kids.
The creek was running fast and wide due to the recent rain, so I had to use stepping stones to get across, hoping I wasn't going to end up swimming in my work clothes. Then on to the ruins and an easy find of the cache.
Nice cache Hypo Mix. Cheers!

great cache, the kids loved the creek crossing and the exploring , certainly watch out for the well. good that someone has added a log so that if anyone falls in they can get out, hopefully. i left a pencil at the cache
A nice walk through the park and a little rock hopping to cross the creek, but made it to the cache dry

The creek crossing was a little challenging today, the rocks are just about under water after the rain we have had for the last two days, the geokid thought it was great! The ruins are interesting but watch the geokids around this area as there is quite a large disused well with the opening at ground level. Made a swap and moved on quickly as the clouds were rolling in again for another down pour. TFTC
Battling the clock on this one a little bit before the park closed for the night but managed to hop across the creek and drag myself up the hill. After a quick stop to admire the scenery and to catch my breath I located the cache and was quickly back off on the walk back to my car. TFTC
Thanks for leading us up to this old ruin. Quite fascinating. No problems crossing the creek, across the stepping stones. Found cache after a short search. TFTC
Found with Eminor93 after a quick hop across the creek and a hot walk up the hill. Thanks for showing us a place that most visitors to the park wouldn't come across.

Never would have come here otherwise. Made for a great side journey from the main park.

That’s one more find for me! Thanks so much for hiding this geocache.
Found after a short walk through the park, and a little splash in a creek. Beautiful views from this area, and spotted a hawk too. TFTC
