Yep coords are definitely a bit misleading! We had to broaden our search and found it quite easily thenTFTC
Found 7/5/24 @ 1:28PM.Apologies for the very late logging (I'm terrible at the logging side!)A quick find here today on our way back into Alice Springs after a few days in East Macs. What a stunning area! Thanks 2 Lost Souls for the cache.
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Peppa is allowed in this National Park. Carpark, so she waited whilst we explored. Stunning spot and a cute container. Tftc
Streak Day #3849 - Whilst in town with Dave8153, we dabbled a little geocaching and exploring. Quick find for us today. TFTC

We had a little spare time this afternoon so we headed out this way to see some sights and find a few geocaches. We poked around a little until I spotted a likely candidate which upon investigation, turned out to be GZ.

Wasn’t too hard to find once we were in the right spot. Beautiful place.

After checking out the gap, I went to find this cache. Trying to access the cache was a bit hard as a rock was wedged very nicely. Thanks for the cache!
No luck here today. We spent a while searching but, while following the no climbing guidelines for the area, we weren't willing to explore further.
Ahhh, our first gap! Nice tin.
For others.....look for the big rock...not near the trees.

Aquilus1 & I are on a 24hr lightning visit to Alice Springs (or Mparntwe) just because it sounded interesting as well as grabbing a few of the LGA's in the middle of the country.
This time it was my crazy idea, but Aquilus1 was willing and able to do 'crazy' at short notice.
We got to the airport at an ungodly hour, and then two planes later we landed in Alice. We flew past half of Cathay Pacific's entire fleet during the landing....no rusting out here I guess!
We had a great day doing multiple gorges and 'gaps', driving on the old highway north to get some great D/T hides and various lab caches before heading in to the city.
We saw first hand the new takeaway alcohol rules as well as all the broken windows in town. The pizza place we went to (Roberto's Pizza) did the BEST PIZZA'S I have ever had....I am serious! It's a shame someone had smashed four of their windows, as they provided great service to us & all the locals that came in.
Thank god for air-con, as due to that I had a good night sleep. We slept in of course (due to me stuffing up the alarm and the long day we had previously), but it all worked out. We finished with the 'Heritage' labs which happened to be where the 'Invasion Day' protests were occurring.
We got every cache & lab we wanted, I feel we saw most (if not all) of the sights, we saw some cultural & political happenings..... what a way to spend 24 hours!!! Thanks to all the CO's for placing.

This took a really good search, eventually the coords pointed the way but it took a harder look to spy the well concealed container unable to access as a rock covering the opening had wedged firm blocking access. GH had what was needed though, no easy feat moving it but great to have it out and signed.
With GreyHams we set of for a short 24hour visit of Alice Springs. Certainly there is an element of crazy in only staying such a short time but what a great trip and place to visit, so worth it. I have been seeking the red outback dirt for a while now and for the past few opportunities have been greeted by lush greenery hiding that iconic red dirt! Still, it was stunning and I feel the green just made the scenery look more stunning highlighting the red rock formations. Loved the gorges, little waterways, dry creek beds and the chirpy little budgies at the gorges.
With temperatures forecast to be up around the low 40's it was a little culture shock! On arriving at the airport and collecting our reliable little SUV we hid in its lovely aircon and made the scenic drive out to Trephina Gorge. Perfect location and first stop... and the flies, SO many sticky little flies!
With a select number of caches on our list the gorges and stops on our way back into Alice highlighted the areas Geology and locations of interest as we cached our way back into town. Some short walks, fun little tracks and much variety in our list of types, LGA's, and DT among others.
After checking into our little villa, sorting out its aircon we set off for one of the little tracks that tested out our little car but carefully we made it through its eroded surface and water filled crossings. AL's, more EC's and some local about town caches gave us a good experience of being in this little town and I feel the caching showed us all we could see for the full experience.
The recent alcohol restrictions brought in we experienced first hand, all well organised and regulated. With the evening sorted it was onto Roberto's for the BEST pizza. Highly recommend the food and the friendly service offered to us and the locals while we were there, don't let the broken and boarded windows in the area put you off, it's worth trying.
The following morning we used to finish off the last of our list, with the multi, letterbox, WIG's and final AL's. The AL's took us to a little park where an invasion day rally was in place, a public holiday the streets were busy... the temperature 38C by 10am!
Many thanks to all the COs for your caches that led us on a great little trip of Alice and its highlights.

Found while visiting The Alice, Travelled from SA along the Birdsville Track to the Big Red Bash, across the Simpson Desert and up the Binns track to Alice. TFTC.
Visited today with the in laws, had a lovely picnic on-site and after packing up went for a look. Saw some kids hunting for the cache and confirmed with their folks - then stood back and waited while they excitedly made the find - one of their firsts! Popped my name in the cache and then they carefully replaced it back where they found it. A lovely day and interaction, so will leave a favourite point for the good experience had here.
TFTC great spot to admire some ancient art.
Also found it amazing how the rock walls magnify the sound of approaching cars, we were able to be in and out without muggles even nearby!

Sir_spectre and I went on a long overdue holiday to the Northern Territory. We had some great experiences and saw some amazing natural wonders. Not all went to plan - covid closures, flood effected roads, renovations, hot weather, some car troubles and not forgetting the huge jump in fuel costs
Any caches that needed repairs were fixed and numeous logs were replaced or added too.

The clue wasn't helpful. I found the cache 10 meters from the listed co ords. Mogni spotted the cache. Still a short search. nice locationj
Mogni and myself went to the Northern Territory for a 10 day holiday. We drove 5478 km's in those 10 days. The plan was to go up the Sturt highway and then go via Ayers Rock, King's Canyon and then through to Alice Springs stopping at the gorges/chasm/gaps along the way. As you can expect nothing goes to plan. Day 1 Adelaide to Cooper Pedy, made it just before the Roxby Downs turn off and blow the side wall on the tire of the 4x4, 193 km detour just to get a tire and even then it was the second tire place that had the tire the correct size. We had camels come in to the campsite in Erldunda Roadhouse, they even left hoof prints 1/2 a foot from the tent, at King's Canyon we had dingo's come through the camp ground both nights we where there and at Alice springs we had a mouse move in under the tent in their campground. Some of the aboriginal towns we passed where in lock down because of covid 19 so no going in to get fuel there, that changed some plans. The floods where way worse up in Northern Territory than i realized. Some creeks/rivers i could see the debris over 2 meters from the river bed and down one 4x4 track it washed the road away completely, the hole was 3/4 the length of the 4x4 and over 6 foot deep. The temp was 33 to 36 for 9 of the 10 days and finally cooled down for the drive home. We got 7 different caches types in the N.T. plus every different cache size. It was a good trip but not the one we planned. To many of the roads in the N.T. where damaged and not repaired ( still closed ) so that cancelled plan A but that's just a excuse to come back isn't it. Come back and see what you missed last time when the roads are fixed. We came with 19 regular " geocaching size " containers and a milk crate of small containers by day 7 all the regulars where used as replaced caches and by day 8 the smalls where gone. It was the UV rays a lot more than the floods that killed the caches and almost all the log books where saved, the micro containers seemed to have constantly full log sheets so they where replaced too.

TFTC. Spending some time sightseeing around Alice Springs, and we have enjoyed geocaching along the way.
Alice Spring to Adelaide Road Trip
Day Two: Alive Springs
With six days to get to Adelaide, I figured I had enough time to linger in the Alice Springs region a bit longer. After lunch I did a bit of aimless wandering around Alice.
I came to this spot for the Earthcache, and this one was too close to pass by.
Thanks 2Lost-Souls.

After visiting Emily's Gap, we moved on to Jessie Gap. The cache was found quickly and easily after a short search. Interestingly this is a 'Mans' place with a womans name. Curious!
Another great spot, and more caterpillars to look for... lol
Had lunch here, with all the budgies playing around us.

TFTC. Interesting walk on the way to the East MacDonalds . Would have been difficult but the Gio wife is getting good at identifying Suspect rock piles
I just had to find this cache as my former caching name was justjessie! Our youngest daughter's name is Jessie and for her entire life we are always saying "her name is just Jessie, not Jessica". TFTC
A lovely morning exploring bought us past this lovely spot and the cache. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache 2 Lost Souls.
I used the hint which helped and from there it was openly exposed. I have hid this a little better and enclosed a travel bug. TFTC
The boys have been doing burnouts on the corner. At least four tyres shredded.
The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Dr Owl is in town for a few days which means I had a go at playing tour guide and a chance to see things in a different light.
We made short shift of this search, thanks 2Lost-Souls.

Owl and Eagle are in Alice Springs on a train expedition, so collected the temporarily-resident Sushilord and headed west... then east... then south. Fun was had, along with some spectacular scenery and out-of-the-way adventures. Then they realised they had a little bit of time up their sleeve for an additional cache, fortunately quickly found.
Took 2 goes as GPS had us scrambling up too high, and muggles also about in this crazy 39 degrees. Waited for a few to go then tried again much lower. Enjoyed the scenery as less flies than Emily.
Another beautiful sandy gap with rock art. More caterpillars I presume. We are now getting used to being very wet. A month of rain in one day. Cheers!
Our next stop as we headed eastwards, this one took a while, but got it in the end.
Visiting all the nice places in the East MacDonnell area and at the same time collecting caches, tftc
Day 2 of our *Red Centre Adventure*... having purposely hired a 4WD so we could get off the bitumen, we headed out to the Arltunga Historical Reserve for the day. On our way back, I stopped off for caches along the way. Quite late in the afternoon we stopped at Jessie Gap for a wander around. After gathering the necessary information for the Earth cache that is here, I went and found this cache as my last find for the day.
Thanks **2 Lost Souls** for putting this Earth cache together.

TFTC out visiting the area with Crack n Lee Lee. This is our 1200th find and I'm glad it was at such a beautiful place
A beautiful gorge. Reminded us of driving around the southern Grampians in Victoria.
Out with 2beez being a few least caches before we head off.

I was out this way again this afternoon, continuing on from yesterdays geos. Glad to say that there were no muggles to wait out here today. Geo was quickly found. Then I went for a wonder through Jessie's Gap after. TFTC
I was heading up to Alice Springs from Adelaide on my own to meet up with FeatherWaite and decided to deviate a little to make the journey
I ended up travelling via Lambert Centre, Finke, the Old Ghan track, Chambers Pillar, the Hugh River Stock Route, Rainbow Valley, Owen Springs Reserve and a trip out to Ruby Gap for good measure, finding a few caches along the way. It took me a few days longer, but was well worth it.

Heading out to Ross River in the East MacDonnell Ranges on this part of my great trip up the middle with a couple of muggle friends.
Just picking up random caches while I can without upsetting them to much.
Visiting all of the sights and enjoying getting out of the car and going for a walk to view wonderful sights.
