After doing all the other caches along the beach this oen was added at the last minute, it is a pre 2010 cache afterall. This was the first trip to the mainland for this group of Tasmanians in a while, we flew over on the 24th and left early on the 3rd. With 4 days in Goolwa followed by 4 in Glenelg we managed to get some caching done in different areas and pull in a select list of caches we all almost all needed, old caches were on the list as normal but also some different D/Ts with some high fav pointed cache making up the remainder. The trip didn't start well with Qantus losing a bag which made us rearrange a couple of days but we got some 4WDing in and a even some driving on the beach to get a couple of different caches, boat trip to Adventure Island was a great start on the day of the Mega too.All caches were stamped "Team Tassie" which consisted of myself, gooseandegg, Budgietas and Tassie TrekkersFound on 27/02/2024 at 14:23:00 thanks to Allchin for placing this cache for me to find. A very quick find at the end of the road after coming down to look at the barrage. Thanks Southern Cross CachingThe usual trio of myself, stainless steel rat and Budgietas was joined by Tassie Trekkers for The Great Leap Forward trip. We decided to cache down south around Goolwa, Victor Harbour and extended reaches for a few days, before basing ourselves in Glenelg for the second half of the trip where we cached around the city, the hills and the Barossa Valley with a highlight being a couple of hours on Adventure Island. Many thanks to the Mega Committee, all the helpers and many local COs who kept up busy and entertained. Most logs were stamped with Team Tassie.
After completing the drive along the beach we relaxed and had a lunch at the accomodation before going out and finding a few more caches. This was one on the pre planned list and a few off the list. A couple of corker caches amount these that will get favourite points. Tftc
Today is day 4 of our SA Great Leap Forward Mega adventure. Based at Goolwa, Mr T, Gooseandegg , Stainless-Steel-Rat and Budgietas concentrated on finding caches with appropriate D/T 's to fill their Fizzy Grids and this was one of them. We signed the log Team Tassie. We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty.Enjoyed caching in this area, cache and contents were in good condition. Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
#2803 This is my day 265, and the longest physical cache find streak so far. I want to see how far I go. I am on a family vacation in Australia. After visiting Brisbane and Tasmania, now we are in South Australia.Today, we roamed around Goolwa and found some caches in the area.I drove to the end of the road just to see what was over there besides the cache. Thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan @ February 24, 2024 13:58:13
Spending the weekend down on the Fleurieu Peninsula to take a break from the city. Warm weather but it was enjoyable to explore new places while letting geocaching be my travel guide. A quick park and grab. All good here. Thanks for the cache Allchin.# # #14025 # #
Continuing my South Australian adventure, I came to this cache. I still had time to find "just one more" before heading back to my accommodation. Since I hadn't yet driven out this way, I decided to come to have a look at the barrage too. I continued down the road to this cache. A quick find was made and my name added to the log. With everything returned as found, I continued on my way. TFTC
Caravan trip away to Victor Harbor, Deep Creek and surrounds.

House/dog sitting near Goolwa. Took a drive today to the Goolwa Barrage. About a dozen seals were sunning themselves on the beams. We then went onto this spot where boats are launched. I checked my phone there 20 metres away was a cache. I jumped out of the car & had it in hand very quickly. Tftc
Out for a date with the hubby in Goolwa, thought we wound find any caches we haven’t yet. Nice easy find, beautiful drive TFTC
Naughtybunny and I enjoyed the drive down to this area. I thought we were at the spot but we were actually at the barrage car park and didn't notice the turn off a hundred metres before here. A short drive later and we were there. There were lots of people walking around and heading to the beach. Luckily we had a break in the foot traffic and managed to find and replace the cache quickly. TNLN. Cheers.
Found with Chookster on a caching trip to Goolwa and surrounds. This one was spotted by Chookster while I wandered aimlessly around the area. Lots of Muggles with buckets and spades passing by on this very hot New Year's Day.

Stopped off for a day, but have now been in the area for a week caching in Victor Harbour Port Elliott & Goolwa, enjoying the area and variety of caches. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Southern Cross Caching
