Lost our pen on the journey but great find! Left a cheeky present in there for any norse enthusiasts out there tftc
Visiting from Adelaide to see family for the festive season, and today its time to tackle more caches in the Mt Taylor area including the Adventure Lab, some puzzles solved in 2021 that I havent had a chance to get to and some challenging multis. Found this cache and signed the log. A little scratched near GZ, but well tucked away off the beaten track. Many thanks for the placement and the ongoing maintenance!
Second find in this series! Clambered up this side of Taylor which I’ve not done before and took a little bit of effort to work my way into ground zero.
Quick find once I got there, log signed and cache replaced as found. Thanks!

This took some effort
Buckoraider decided to go the hard way, and I circled to it on the long way, but 5 metres away from it I got on super spiky spot, and despite seeing the cache it took me few mins to go through it.
Very well guarded cache
We then ventured through the mountain to TankEngine’s D5 hide through the bush. Only consider if you are willing to bushbash a bit
It wasn’t prickly but it was dense
Thanks!

Last minute decision for a drive to Canberra. Left last night after work and slept in the car near Ginninderra. This morning a few quick caches and then a Parkrun. Weather better then last night luckily. After the run slowly worked my way to central and also started to pick up some adventure labs.

What an adventure to get here! I took the goat track from lookout 2. Now to find my way back to the car!
I thought I had descended to roughly the correct elevation but alas I had to climb again. Cache located, log signed and clue retrieved. Cheers.
Really good spot utill night log of us got cut but really fun just really numb
Found it this time!! I came in from a different direction which helped second time round looking for this. Tftc!
Great coordinates, good view and a nice dry hide combine to make this a highly enjoyable experience.
Out for my Wednesday after work constitutional to regain fitness after knee replacement surgery.
Great afternoon!
I am Grumpy!

I think I took the prickly way and took 10 mins to find it but for in the end. Great hide.
A short walk around this side of Mt Taylor today, on a mission to clear out the remaining unfound caches I have on here. This was a short slog through the bush, although i didn't find a path so got prickled many times by the sharp bushes on the way.
Soon arrived and after a short search the well hidden cache revealed itself! It has been well sheltered and covered since it was placed so it is still in good condition after all this time
Thanks Sol de Lune
P.S. I dropped a TB and picked up another TB which was in the container

TFTC nice scramble cross country to this one whilst picking up a few others in the area.
As expected, great view on a fine winter’s morn. Cache in good nick. Replaced the plastic bag.

Scrub was awful, maybe my GPS was a little off, but could not see an easy way to get to where I thought it might be
E E E E EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE [Found!] at 3:56pm
The start of clearing Mount Taylor happened today. Using the advantage of a public holiday. We spent around 4 hours walking up and down the mountain. Until we had to stop.
Wow. This cache was so covered in foliage that I reckon the terrain should be higher. At the point of giving up I saw the container. Log signed and container replaced. All in good order. TFTC Sol De Lune

I finally found this one today with my children and their friends. It didn’t take too long to find but the walk up was a little scratchy. Thanks for the cache.
Finally summer is back, so it seemed like a good idea to climb a mountain, and earn some caches. So we grabbed the hound, jumped in the car, and headed over to Mt Taylor. It's been a while since I've been here, and I'd forgotten about how steep it can be in places - but today I was surely reminded.
We approached from the top, and at first it was a nice easy stroll with great views - but it didn't take long to get steep, rocky and slippery - the hound had it good though with four leg drive.
Once in the zone it took a little bit of manoeuvring to find out way into the actual hide location, but we did it and the cache was quickly located and the log signed.
Unfortunately, I forgot to get the code under the lid - rookie mistake - I guess I'll just have to go back - but not today...
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Sol de Lune - it's a great little spot.

Enjoying a sunny and unusually warm Canberran winter's day trekking around Mt Taylor.
This cache dragged me back up the mountain so thank you for the welcome exercise.
Oops - forgot to get the clue, so I guess I'll be back for a return trip soon!

Found on a nother day caching in ATC, it was a bit colder to day but still a nice day.
I've dropped my lady's youngest off for her dance class, and I've got four dogs needing a walk. The back of Mt Taylor is close, not too steep, and there are caches. Unloaded the dogs, picked the nearest cache, and off we went. For half a kilometer, the walk took a long time. Four dogs on dogstrings do not make nfor easy traverses through scrub. Lots of going around, until the vry end. Tied them to a tree at that point. Found the cache, looked at the views, and back to the dogs, then the car, then the dancer. Thanks, mate.
Found with Kittykatch clearing out caches in the side of Mt Taylor. Fantastic views and a fav for getting me up here. Cache in good condition. TFTC
Found this nice Cache together with Dino and Flintstones. Thank you for putting it out and maintaining it Sol de Lune.
The whole family with Betty and the two dogs were up for a short hike and so we picked Mt Taylor with its many awesome caches on the eastern side. Found all cache which were all really good and had a great time with nice views on this warm day.
This was the high point of the hike today and very nice too.
We enjoyed the view for a bit before moving on. In fact this was a particularly nice view for us, seeing Mt Painter and The Pinnacle in the distance. We see that very same ridge from home (from Belconnen) only from the other side so it was quite fun to spot the same features from the south side.
Thank you Sol de Lune for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Tftc Sol! A top location for a cache. I like Mt Taylor and I picked up 6 today. I bashed lots of bush to some of them, but this one was gold. Stay in the short stuff and it’s good
Waramanga dog walk up from powerlines FT. Some Bush bashing required but an easy enough find. Thanks.
After I had extracted myself from the 'Grey Ghost', I thought I had seen the last of the bush-bashing for the day but no, the last few metres of approach to this cache saw me getting reacquainted with my old friend Bursaria.
The co-ordinates were spot-on which helped ease the stings and scratches, and in no time I was on my way back to the car (or to anther cache as it turned out).
TFTC, Sol de lune

We came from the top of mt taylor and went a very steep way down, some scratchy bits but a lot of fun! Thanks for the find!
06/05/2018 though little spot, full of over growth, the view is worth all the effort.
Nice to find one slightly off the beaten track. Have not walked this side of the mountain before - tftc
Called in on the way home from work. The last NN for me so, with all the numbers, I'm off the Namadgi National Park sometime soon. TFTC.
Ouch ouch ouch!! Scrapped, scratched and fumbled through to find this one. Loved every minute tho
4 hours up, around and down Mt Taylor, all in a early Sunday mornings cache hunt. Nippy to start but when the sun broke the over the trees it was just the wind that kept reminding me that it was still Winter. TNLNSL TFTC
Found while visiting Mt Taylor with Ellrav. This is the first of the series I've found, so will have to look at finding the rest sometime. Thanks for brining me here Sol de Lune.
After going up to the top of Mt Taylor we decided to look for a few caches on a different side of the mountain. Don't think we followed the easiest path from the top, but it was an easy find once we were in the right area. Found with legocacher. TFTC!
Had a great time wandering around the old stomping ground finding a few caches and lots of memories. Used to wave to mum on the back verandah from here! TFTC
Had to fight the bursaria to get to this one deep in the scrub. Well hidden - left a plastic stag. TFTC
Walking back down to the car park from the top of Mt Taylor after collecting a few caches and made the walk across. Bit of a push through the bushes at times and I never will be a fan of the prickly bushes but not to bad. Nice views from GZ and enjoyed the walk through the area, thanks for the cahe Sol de Lune.
More bush bashing to this one. Luckily it is cool this afternoon. Quickly found and signed them back thru the bush to the main path. Tftc!!!
Fresh from yesterday's success under the streets of Tuggeranong, this morning my adult geoson and I tackled the lofty heights of Mt Taylor. We proceeded to Chifley for morning tea and returned to Kambah around the western side of Mt Taylor and in the process nabbed five geocaches. All were straightforward, although this one was well-protected by scrub, and a couple impressed us. A good morning out and about.
Thank you Sol de lune for this cache.

How did i know without reading the clue this was going to be under a rock? Nice walk though I'm wondering how many times you had to get list to find all these beauties. Of cause I had to leave my pen in the car didn't I. Grrr. Well found for now and will have to come back which won't be a huge issue. I haven't yet climbed to the top of this mountain. Tftc
We logged this as a DNF some many months ago, and today, back out on the mountain, we decided to head up and have another look. Within minutes we had found it, and so now we wonder what on earth we were missing first time. Nice to collect this one, and we did love the views from GZ.
Thanks Sol d Lune,
Nice to finally change that sad blue face into a yelow smilie,
Domsky
Really enjoyed the scramble up to this one. A beautiful, peaceful spot on a Sunday afternoon. TFTC Sol de lune
I had and hour or 2 so decided to start looking at the caches on Mount Taylor - I love a challenge (and for me Mt Taylor will be one - I'm 72 yo and not too fit). Anyway this challenge enough today - ended up bush bashing my way since I don't know the trails - thanks Sol de lune
#4781 - 15:05; After spending most of the day inside working on the computer, the beautiful weather lured me outside for a spot of caching. I decided the slopes of Mt Taylor would be a good place to add to my tally, so I headed south. I collected two a bit further down the slope before deciding to make my way to this one. Parked near an access gate and headed over for a reasonably gentle stroll until the last 70 metres or so, when I had a bit of a slope and some shrubbery to content with. Made it to GZ and a quick find was enjoyed. Picked up a TB to continue its travels as well as adding my name to the log. Nice views too! TFTC Sol de lune
Great spot, Nice little hike. I've left a trackable who would like to get to Sydney

Another day of caching for us (love being on holidays!) and today took us back to Mount Taylor to grab the caches we missed last time we were here. The Woofer was excited to come with us today and encountered a few roo friends (one giant dead one included!) and got some more "Cache Hunting" practice. We found some incredibly cool caches today...well worth the blisters.
A bit of a bash from our previous cache, but a nice easy find at the end. Thanks Sol!!

Last find on Mt Taylor today. No water and very thirsty. Time to head back.

I've finally got around to another "Neighbourly Neighbours" cache... and this was the last on Saturday's trek, as I had to rush back down the hill to my bike before the storm came thundering down on me. I almost made it back home dry, to...

A great hill climb walk. I followed the powerlines up from the South side and then another good little track to GZ. What a pretty little grotto. I tied the RP up while I scrabbled around until I found the blighter. She's all hot under the collar about nearby skippies and can't wait til I'm not paying attention and she can go chase them. An army of ants came out to defend the fort and one of them stung me, fair cop, I guess . Thanks for the cache Sol de lune

Decided to head to Mt Taylor with Army_Stealth for some caches, This one (as well as a few others) offered great views, TFTC
Did some caching around Pearce today with injuryman
Specifically mount Taylor
Unfortunately we did not have time to find them all but we will be back!
On the upside, injuryman reached the milestone of 1000 cache finds!
Glad to have another of the Neighbourly Neighbours caches under my thumb

Headed out on a geocaching mission with TikvaNZ to do some caches around Mt Taylor. As it transpired, we went over the top, down the other side, and half up again before finishing off a few caches around the base. Over the course of 4 hours, I collected 10 / 10 caches - which definitely put a hole in my caches yet to be found in this neck of the woods. I am enjoying sitting down to log - it rests my feet!
We decided to head cross country to get to this cache - which probably upped the terrain by 1/2 a point. GZ was a bit tricky to access with all the fallen trees. TikvNZ made the find while I was still getting to the finding point. Thanks Sol de Lune!

I hadn't yet decided where to cache for today when AngelG27 contacted me and suggested a few caches on Mt Taylor. That sounded good to me, so we met up at 1300 to find Taylor's Torment. The plan was to drop down to find a few caches on the lower slopes, but after finding the multi, we decided to visit Taylor's Terrace, and then the top looked inviting so over the top we went, down the other side and back via the lower slopes. A wonderful afternoon's jaunt with great views. We traversed the northern slopes from McPhans Half Century to get to this one, with some scratchy bush bashing at the end. Cache easily found along with a lovely small lizard. We found an easier way out from the cache. TFTC.

Today we reached 1000 days continuous caching and as such wanted to make our caches today memorable for this milestone. We had collected others and thought why not get to the top and take in some views. FFLL no 1 remembered running up Mt Taylor in her schooldays for the cross country and PE, it used to take her only 10 minutes back then. Today it took us a little bit longer.
We both took a different route to this one, FFLL No 1 had the better choice. Found the container signed the log and then we continued our descent.

Found on a nice little stroll up from the cute little Kambah satellite suburb off Sulwood Drive (and via another failed attempt at Gassy Bombshanks, but let's not talk about that).
Enjoyed a bit of mild rock scrambling to find this one. A beautiful spot to watch the sun disappear and the suburban lights begin to glow. Left behind a fierce looking but attractively coloured purpley-grey beetle (one of those ones with the big pincers out the front).
TFTC, SDL - I think that's 18 of yours for my weekend

I thought it was about time to visit Mt Taylor after many years. Second to last cache of the day. I misjudged my traversal from "McPhan’s Half Century" and found myself havng to head uphill again. A bit of the bash though to gz, but found it without too much trouble. The view is a bit obstructed by all the trees these days.

I don't think I came in the easiest way to this one but my first for the day. Out to get my 500th cache... yay!!!... tftc!! Such a beautiful area =]
There is a well-worn walking track to the top of Mt Taylor 35m to the south of this cache with great views of Weston Creek. Great cache.
Difficult bushes and we went in circles for a while. Eventually found it and felt good.

I was in the mood for an after work geohike so I decided Mt Taylor would be the place to visit today
Moving right along on my geohike after finding a couple of others and this one was next to target. Up, up I went Looks like someone may have visited nearby for some special "alone time" judging by the "reading material" left behind
Anyway, after passing that, it wasn't long at GZ until I made the nice, easy find Signed log and replaced the torn log bag as I had a spare on me. Great views!
Thanks for the hide, Sol!
