We were in the area so we decided to venture to the GZ to enjoy the views and grab the cache. After a short look the cache was in hand. As reported by the previous finder, the container bottom is missing however the log is in good condition. TNLN. TFTC.
TFTC.....frilk and I were enjoying our walk in the Wanniassa Hills so much, saw this one on the map and figured let's have a look for it while we were in the area. Lovely walk along the fire track to the highest point in that area and once again the views were stunning. After scrabbling around amongst all the rocks, found the cache, signed the log and then took advantage of the photo opportunities.
Was a little concerned about this one on approach, given it hasn't been found in almost 18 months. Unfortunately, the cache was lying out in the open, with the contents strewn about and the container with multiple holes. Not sure how long it's been like this!Container needs some TLC - didn't have anything to hand that would allow me to do repairs. Returned it to what I think is it's authentic home, which provides quite a bit of cover.TFTC!
On approach to GZ I was expecting to be looking a few metres away, but GPS was playing nicely today and coordinates were almost millimetre perfect. Another in the series for the files. Thanks Sol de lune!
This is a cache I picked up originally picked up in 2017... but never logged at the time. I came back here today. It's a really lovely park, one of my favourite of Tuggeranong's inner city hills.
Sighted my previous log (and dated it again!). Thanks for the cache!

So cool to get another one of these. The walk is epic but views have been awesome. Still need a few more. But so good to be out in the fresh air and scenery.

Found on a walk over Mt Waniassa with a small group. Great views from gz and really enjoyed being out walking some trails.
Thanks for hiding this cache Sol de lune

Beautiful views all around me.. well actually the dump probably not so much. Love this area though! Cache is in great condition, everything dry and was well hidden.
If the geokids would stop taxing all the swag from my bag I could leave something as the cache is of great size with lots of room.
Took about 5 minutes to find.
Tftc!

This one took me a little longer with the GPS wandering around a bit... eventually found it when looking back up the hill from the downhill side (clearly a good technique for me!). A lovely bit of the hills that I hadn't visited before. Thank you!
Such a helpful hint!! Always make me laugh! Luckily for me the coords were spot on. TFTC Sol de lune.
Wow this cache is now more than a decade old! No maintenance ever needed either, and I am now the 150th finder, woohoo!
Looks like it has had a good life up on Wanniassa Hill, a great spot for it too! Enjoyed the walk and climb with many other objectives along the way.
Thanks Sol de Lune, great to get another ticked off in this series, and from your hides in general!

Nice walk to the GZ. Thanks for the cache. I signed the log DSD or DARKSIDEDAN
Found on a nother day caching in ATC, it was a bit colder to day but still a nice day.
Wandering the trails on route to Mt Wanniassa.
Stopped here to take in the views.
Signed log and continued on our way
Thanks Sol de Lune

I was keen to head up into the area for a needed cache to help fill a spot in my jasmer, with GreyHams also needing the same cache after a few changes in plans things fell together to make a trip of it. Although not the nicest of days with the wind and cold not the worst and just thankful really that there was no sun, it was warm enough walking up all those hills! GreyHams had a number of puzzles solved in the area making a decent morning of it, and although I was able to contribute to a few he didn't have, a lot of the solves today were his with some bonus Traditionals found along the way. Thanks for the cache Sol de Lune, this was one of the bonus caches along the way that I have been wanting to get to for a while now, my last in this series and would like one day to get out to the bonus, one day!
Bumped into Aquilus1 at the event yesterday, we mused at the idea of going out on sunday, but then that plan got torpedoed by me needing to take my girls to the movies in the morning, in the end I couldnt get tickets to the session we wanted so I could go out... so here we are, on Wanniassa hills where we have solved many, many puzzles. There seems like a critical mass solve so that makes going out worthwhile.
This was the twelfth of the day and the going was going along a lot nicer know... mostly downhill. I think I only have one of these to go now.

Took some time out of my day to finally make the climb to another NN cache. Loved the views from GZ, nice location to spy the solar farm near hume too!
Cache is in great condition and as usual I sat on the rock before I made the find.
Thanks Sol for another great vantage point.

After what has been a long drought between cache missions in Canberra, we had the time today after a birthday lunch to collect a few caches and an opportunity to walk lunch off.
This one was in our sights and the view from the top was a great reward for our efforts.
Thanks Sol de Lune for placing this one, it was a nice walk up a small hill.

Nice walk from the last cache to here. No big hills, just a pleasant walk along the toad. Found all safe and sound. Tftc!!!
The Omnia Monday evening walk took place on the ridge to Mt Wanniassa so I arrived early and sought out two geocaches. This one was a straightforward find, being more or less on the coordinates. Thank you Sol de Lune for installing and maintaining this cache.
Accompanied with All7.. very cold cold decide to head out here and that hill argh, log in nice cache TFTC Sol de Lune
#2168 Out walking with Duffco again on this cloudy 12 degree afternoon. This walking track really does give some great views. Cache was found after a quick search of GZ. TFBUH Sol de Lune.
Missed the multi on the other side of the track so this was a nice reward for the rock scramble. Added a few items to the cache for little ones. PJCAUS
We were walking in this area today, and found another "neighbourly neighbour" that was only 250 metres from where we were . A quick walk to GZ, some spectacular views and a cache in hand meant that we had found 2 of these in the last 4 days. Nice!
Thanks Sol de Lune,
Domsky

This evening, geohound and I parked on Long Gully Rd and had a fun walk/run for an hour, collecting 20.5 DT points in four caches - not a bad walk and plenty of smells (for geohound!).
This was the third cache. A scramble up the east side of the hill to the ridge, dividing the mob of kangaroos as we went. On arrival at GZ, the cache was soon discovered and signed. In good condition. TFTC SDL

While enjoying a nice morning stroll through Farrer Ridge and Wanniassa Hills I was suprised to see this one come up on my map as I thought I had done all those around here. But I realised I had not been down this track since before I started geocaching. I really do like these hills and their views, and this is in a nicely tucked away part of them. An easy find and a good opportunity to stop for a quick bit of morning tea. TFTC

With nothing better to do on a hot, sunny afternoon I headed to the south side. My goals were to fill in the suburb gaps for the Canberra Mapping Challenge, find the rest of the Neighbourly Neighbours series and get some exercise. This one was quickly found after a hot slow and steady walk up the hill. Took GC. TFTC.

Whilst out finding another Cache I notice this one wasn't far away so though why not.
It was a beautiful time of the evening with a great sunset to boot.

Waited until 2:00 pm for the fog to lift before a walk up Wanniassa Hill and a quick find.
Please see the note at the top of the listing re the evening closure of the GZ area due to the on going Kangaroo Cull....
1pm - our 6th (and last) for today.
OK I think Ridgeo-pup is over it now.
She sat in an ants nest and did a weird little dance as the little pests bit her.
A surprising view on the way I didn't expect on this walk, out over Long Gully Way towards Jerra and beyond. And a really nice track to follow. This was our last for today and we took a slightly rougher, smaller trail back towards Faddon. We ignored Noikmeisters "Namadji" cache. And then followed a bitumen track (almost a road) round the back of the houses back to the car. I think just finding this cache will have burnt up the necessary calories for me, because although it was an easy walk there was plenty of up and down. I've never seen Faddon before, its quite magestic settled in a valley of its own with such views of the Brindies.

Today my grandad and I did a few caches around Fadden on this fine Australia Day. After a disappointing DNF nearby, we walked over to this cache. I found it pretty quickly, signed the logbook and replaced. Great view from GZ!
Thanks SDL for taking us here!

Waniassa hills, a familar and favourite place of mine. This cache is actually the first ever cache that got me interested in geocaching. TFTC
10th of 10 for the day, found during a wander around Waniassa Hills.
This was a must do, given we've accumulated 4 other caches in the series by virtue of exploring the southside reserves. Quick find on dusk with the sun over the hills. After signing the log we followed a animal trail/pad northerly, down to the bitumen road/path thing to loop back to the car (ending our clockwise circuit of the park).

Only one more to go for this series. This one was nearly going to be a DNF, there are so many rocks! Found it in the end, TFTC!

Today Me & my dad did a Geocaching trip around the Fadden hills it super duper FUN!

A nice little bimble up from the Fadden side. Wonderful views at the top, and despite the light rain I sat and took it all in for a while after doing log signing duty.

The GeoSchnauzers and I have just been to "Return of Wattle Magic". This ridge is the site of some of the favorite walks of my late wife and myself, with earlier versions of GeoSchnauzers. So I decided the current GeoSchnauzers and I decided to walk up to this one. It's a decent day for it, a little cool,a bit of wind and no sunlight. So we walked up, and grabbed the cache. It turned out to be placed near one of our favorite resting places on this walk, with good views and nice rocks to sit on. Thanks for the cache.
Our third for the day, and approached it from the wrong direction so made the climb a little more interesting than it needed to be. TNLN TFTC.
597 [348] Was expecting to take ages to find the cache at GZ. After two minutes or so, I had the cache in hand. Yippee! Tks SDL!
I came down off the hill near Richter Cl and looked at my GPS - "oh, only 394m" to another cache. I've got 30min before I need to leave this area". So off I headed straight up the hill after scaling the a nearby bluestone wall. I found the cache after 5-10 min hunting and had left myself 15 min to get back to my car which I had left in the western arm of Sparkes Cl. Wow! As the crow flies it was nearly 1km back to the car. By the time I had followed the path back to the car I almost didn't have enough time to drive and pick the kids up from school.

Missed this one a few years ago when I did a sweep through this area, took me awhile to come back TFTC
Found this cache uncovered and muggled... some notes added about sex for sale but cache seems to have been left otherwise unmolested.
replaced suitable covering but muggles may return again

One of a number of caches found this chilly, windy day. Muggles have found this cache and written in the log. See sample photograph. There are several more pages like this. The cache seemed okay, besides this, although it was uncovered. Perhaps it should be moved to stop a return muggle visit. TFTC.
big mob of roos passed us as we walked up the western face of this hill, nice! tftc and the scenery
While I was admiring the views and remarking how pretty it was the_proton informed me I was looking at the dump and that soiled things somewhat. The cache was peeking out at us making the find a bit easier so we returned it to its hide. TFTC.
On our way through the nearby A Little Taste of Namadgi multi we took a detour to pick up this cache. A nice quick walk from where we were to the other side of the peak provided some nice views over the valley (although one of the main features is the tip, but nice views nonetheless!). The cache was sitting out from its hide so that when shinydragon asked how large it was I looked down and said "about that large" pointing at the cache. We tucked it back in its hidey hole, hopefully to stay in there this time.
Thanks for the cache Sol de lune.

Sunday 21 October - a warm windy day for a 7km walk around the Waniassa Hills. Great catching up with old friends and walking the beautiful dogs. Thx Roche, Jen and Pete and canine friends.
461. Cache took a while to get to, as there was no real path. Clue noted, thanks again, Sol de lune.
A nice spot! This part of the ridge has a bit of an alpine feel to it. Nice trees, rocks, paper daisies etc.
Found after a bit of a look around at the various rocks. Thanks

A quick find. I'll always have a soft spot for Wanniassa as I spent my formative years here. TNLN TFTC!
Out for a quick stroll with MadRummager on a lovely almost-spring morning.
More great views from up here too! We were lucky enough to spot a big eagle making the most of the thermals. Beautiful.

It amazes me how much impact geocachers have. You can see the trampled grass all around the area and a path from the fire trail. Nice spot and on an almost windless sunny winter morning, just awesome. TFTC
