Having taken the green beast out to an event at Sanatorium Lake, good time to finish off new caches in the area. A lovely day to be out in the bush, it smells so clean and fresh. This was my backyard in my youth and it was lovely to explore the area again, finding roads Id never ventured down. Lot of unlove on this baby couldnt find it but will check coords again and I will return
It’s been a bit of a strange day that led to us (Ghihash and I) doing 2 night caches in Macedon.
We came down from Bendigo to have dinner with Ghihash’s brother and wife and to pick up some furniture. And when we left it was dark enough to begin with this cache.
At wp1 we quickly found what we were looking for and moved on.
Wp2 I quickly spotted the reflector and we had out starting point; but got a little side tracked with the reflective historical tree markers. Ghihash refocused us and we went back to looking for the tacks. When out of the darkness the call comes in that he sees 2 racks together and “what does that mean?” Time to search we found what we were looking for and added the

Heading down from Bendigo K9team and I were determined to do the 2 night caches around Macedon. This cache being our first for the night.
Wpt1 was an easy enough find however the coords for wpt2 are becoming fragile.
At wpt2 we quickly found the first fire tack and on our way to the 2nd before getting stuck. Expanding the search area logic eventually prevailed and took the most likely path before spotting the next fire tack. This method soon brought us to the cache. Unsure if some markers were missing or we didn't spot them from new growth in the area.
Finaly spotting 2 tacks on the one tree we quickly had the cache. Cache is in good order.
Thanks to the CO's for organising this cache.

Found with TeamRobbie and TeamRobbie. Took a bit to find our bearings but got there in the end. TFTC
We had allowed a whole night for this but it turned out to be a lot easier than we thought. TFTC
Nice walk during lockdown and a good start to my lockdown cache blitz near the fams house. TFTC
Maintenance undertaken for WP1 and trail confirmed to GZ. Please consider your health and that of others as you cache (as well as abide by the law).
Awesome cache! My first night cache!
WP1, the container was full of water and the co-ordinates to WP2 were wet and barely readable.
Trekking through the Bush was great and the fire racks can be seen from miles away when you get the torch angle right.

Wow!! This was my very first night cache! Wasn't to hard to follow and find. Thanks heaps for putting this put there, signed the log and returned where found.
Thanks for the find. All in good order.. moon looks amazing tonight but sadly phone can't take a pic of it haha.
Had good moonlight tonight so I thought it would be a good night to give this cache a shot..
Cache looks all to be in good working order. Some of the firetacks were getting loose so I pushed them back in and they are good for the next cacher.

This Night cache had been on my to do list for along a time, and tonight we were in the area and the Geo-wife said lets go. The hint for WP1 was a bit miss leading but got it after a brief search. The co-ords are a little faded but still readable. Off to WP2 and with a bit of walking around with a dodgey torch it was back to the Geo-mobile and luckily a better light source was found. Anyway under the watchful eyes of a few Kangaroos I made my way to GZ. A quick find. A favorite point given for our first Night cache. I must come back and check this place out in day light.
Thanks **AussiePuschacks**

I headed out with SteMicMitSar to Mount Macedon to do some more work on a 'project' cache and also to attempt two nearby night caches. I don't know what to say about this cache. Prior to tonight, I had completed 58 night caches. It took us less than 9 minutes to walk from Steve's car to GZ, sign the log and return to the car.
Certainly it was very much easier going than the night cache that we had just completed further up the mountain.

Today I headed out with biggles1024 to target a couple of night caches and also work on a project cache over at Mt. Macedon.
Having now arrived at Mount Macedon we set about continuing with our project cache and once that was done it was time to find so others in the area before the sunset for the night caches.
This was the second of two night caches targeted tonight and compared to the first one, this one was straight to the point and over and done with in what seemed a matter of minutes which was good after spend hours on the other one but I'm not sure of the significance for waypoint 1 and why we went there just to start the trail somewhere else.

After finding the nearby creatures in the night, a small group of us headed off to do this one. Arriving at the start location, we quickly gathered the first bit of information. About to go to WP2 when a car pulled up, the young guy asked if we were ok. We told him were geocaching, and his response was “what’s that?” After showing him the free app on my phone, and bringing up the details of a cache, he exclaimed, “I know where that is”. A quick introduction explaining how to get started, telling him to get the free app, sign up to a free account, and he was off. Arriving at our next location, we quickly spotted what we were looking for and off we went. In no time at all we were at the end of the reflector trail. Spotting an obvious hiding spot with the cache being revealed shortly after. Adding our names to the log book with everyone, then going their separate ways. Thanks for a great night cache.

After completing another night cache at Macedon our group gathered at Baringo for this one. We were warmed up by now, and with eyes tuned in we made short work of getting through the waypoints and making our way to GZ.

Out with a few others doing a few in this area tonight.
After doing a cache nearby we came and did this one. Well the first part was found quickly by myself, and after finally getting the minute' info, we headed off insearch of a few reflectors, 1 by 1 we got closer and then we found our treasure. SLTNLN.

After a successful large group attempt at the Mt Macedon Hidden Creatures night cache, it was asked if there was any interest in doing this night cache as well. As i had already come from Ballarat to do the other one i thought why not do one more while I'm here.
So a smaller group travelled in convoy to get here, some in the know parked at the entrance to the reserve while others made their way to the posted coords to grab the initial waypoint.
Following a steady trail of reflective tacks we were soon at Gz where the cache was found nice and dry. While this one was much simpler than the other night cache we did this evening our group had no less fun doing it.
Thx to both COs for placing a cache here for us to find.

This was second cache of the night after completing Creatures in the Night nearby. This one was a quick one and end up with second finds for the night. Thanks Aussiepuschaks & Unicornnikita for the fun and great cache.
You know what's impressive?
A 2009 nightcache! These things never have that long a shelf life.
A confusing start location with a distance apart, however quiet enjoyed the simple reflector trail and nice easy hide at the end. Glad I hung on and did this one in the day. A cool little cache this side of town. The schoolbus used to come past here as a kid - not much happening in Baringo.
Cheers

Not satisfied with just one night cache, a number of the group that completed the one just below Mount Macedon made their way to Baringo.
The hardest part of this one was getting that sheet of paper back into its tiny container. And then there was the delay caused by the concerned local asking if we were OK, which turned into a marketing opportunity for one of our number.
Anyway, we took a stroll, and, with a bit of a hunt, found the first firetacks, which are showing their age. The further firetacks are better protected from the elements, so shone far brighter.
All too soon, the trail ended for our second night smiley.
Aussiepuschaks & Unicornnikita, I've been looking at this cache almost since I took up this pastime, as it's just up the road from the in-laws. Thanks for the fun, and the cache.

Found with counterpoint409 (after a bit of persuasion). The first waypoint had giant spiders galore!
After we had waypoint 2 we went off into the bush where we encountered a loud, unidentifiable animal scurrying in the bush. It freaked is out but with some courage we continued on with Counterpoint409 at the helm with the torch. Once at GZ cache was easy to find. We had a bit of trouble with the pen, it might need replacing soon.

Found on a hot, humid night (Probably not the best night to go wandering in the bush). Word of warning, most of the grass in this location is quite thick and about 5'. In places there was no way through, so we had to locate each fire tack and then find a new way to it. Think we may have ended up doubling the distance for the walk in. The walk out was easier as we may a beeline for the road and wandered back to the car well clear of any wriggle sticks that may have been out on this lovely night.
This cache has been on my radar for a while, as it is only a few kilometres from the home depot. Great concept and has inspired me to seek out other spots for setting up another.
I had my geowife (Malipara) and geodaughter in tow on a very hot humid night. The bugs were swarming around the light of our torches and the grass was about head high in parts, making lining up the fire tacks a little difficult. We have had an incredible year for growing grass. It also made finding our way around the hidden logs and holes a challenge, but that's what a good cache is all about.
It is a petty that other cachers don't seem to have followed the etiquette of swaps, so we topped the cache up a little.
Good work and thanks for the experience AussiePuschaks.

Had a great time finding this one a little while ago whilst on camp out this way with some friends. There really aren't enough night caches around, thank you for this one!
Got this one bang on midnight last night. Took my mates on this for their very first geocache! Fair to say I was not keen in doing this one by myself.
It did not let us down. Fantastic cache, found it no worries.
It was a bit spooky when cars went past as it was very foggy so it filled the night with a real creepy vibe.
So super stoked I got this one. Thank you guys very very much!
The car trip home was also interesting, not only was it filled with the telling of ghost stories, the fog got real thick to the point we could pretty much see nothing.
What a perfect night to tackle it I reckon!

Travelling around Australia and we are currently staying in Woodend.
Well with fine weather forecast we decided to head out to Hanging Rock and Mt Macedon.
Wow what beautiful scenery, and some great history shared with us too. It wasn't an easy day with many walks!
A truly rewarding caching day.
This was the last for the day and we struggled at the start due to not quite dark enough but finally common sense prevailed and we found the cache!
The first fire tack we spotted was 80metres away and we never found the original starting 3. May pay to run a check when you can.

Thanks for this very cool night cache. Found tonight with ST37E, wozzle68, Glanville Girls and McLookers. I enjoyed the adventure and was lucky enough to make the find.
A nice walk in the dark tonight with Tomstache, Glanville Girls, wozzle68 and ST37E, there was not much moonlight. The signals were clear and we made our way to the final where Tomstache made the find. Thanks AussiePuschaks, we enjoyed the hunt.
A little bit of rain but it did not dampen our spirits tonight after all we had driven from Ballarat to do this cache especially. The cache was very well done and straight forward, I enjoyed it thanks. The cache is in good order
We made the trip from Ballarat tonight with McLookers, ST37E, Tomstache and Wozzle68 to find this clever night cache. Thanks for the hide AussiePuschaks.
This had been on my radar for quite some time but I have never been out night caching alone. When sorceysal suggested to try for it last night I was all for it.
As a result sorcerysal, bogonghazy, mudbrick and I made our group assault on this much forgotten cache.
Eagle eyes bogonghazy spied the first way point and we collected the necessary numbers.. It was off with our head torches blazing to tackle the fire trail. I was surprised how short the night walk was. A good thing because the grass was longish with plenty of obstacles in the way.
The signal that we were at GZ appeared in a blaze of white lights and of course bogonghazy found the cache. Our duty completed we headed back out to the car and then home for a drink.
It was an enjoyable experience. Thanks for the ribaldry on our travels everyone.

Apparently it was decided we were doing this cache at the same time it was decided I was driving this mottley crew tonight. We'd done the So Sleepy cache earlier, and although I didn't have this on my GPS, I was able to make the find at WP1 with the headtorch making the container glow. We then drove to the new coords and spotted the first firetack. It was then an easy trail to follow the 'glows' to GZ where an easy find was made. It was uncovered and upside down, and judging by the wombat poo in the tree, we guessed he had been the muggle.
Thanks AussiePuschaks for this great little adventure.
Thanks AussiePuschaks for this great little adventure.
Found this cache with 6hinemoa2, bogonghazy & sorceysal. This was the first of this type that I had sought out, it was a bonza night, with a good group of fellow cachers. I quickly learned that my piddley torch was manifestly inadequate. Bogonghazy's searchlight was, however, a beauty. Consequently we scurried after him as he fairly leaped from tree to tree. He found the cache. Thank you AussiePuschaks for the entertainment. TNLN
After spending all arvo in meetings, it was great to get an invite from 6hinemoa2 to find a nearly nearby night cache in the Pyrete ranges. I had this cache on my radar but had never been night caching before so this was my chance for a new experience. So after completing "So Sleepy" we headed off to find this one.
Arrived at the first WP and bogonghazy quickly had the co-ords for WP2. 6hinehmoa2 wanted to walk from here but the rest of us out voted her and decided to see if we could drive closer, which we got to about 60 metres. Bogonghazy charged ahead of the rest of us and quickly spied the required markers and thankfully it was only a short walk as the grass is rather long and after recent snake sightings (I think we would have scared them off anyway) we didn't want to walk too far. The cache was a quick find and quite possibly the home of a local wombat going by all the pooh around gz.
It is a pity this cache isn't found more often as it is about 15 months since last found. We will have to spread the word.
Really enjoyed my first experience at night caching and then it was off to sample some of 6hinemoa2's hospitality.
Thanks AussiePuschaks

This cache was found during a Monday night cache run with Blacklegend, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts (TDC) as well as Poynts95 who came down with BL. for the nights run. Plenty of kilometres travelled during the run, with us starting early afternoon around Rebels home turf and finishing in the wee hours of the morning in Heathcote. A great variety of caches found with some really nice hides. Many thanks to the cache owners for placing the caches we found.
Found on a caching run with the TDC..... I was lucky enough to be able to cache with my local caching mate, Blacklegend, and the rest of The Demolition Crew on this occasion. I had a great night, lots of good conversation and great to again catch up with the TDC. My thanks to all the cache owners for their hides on the night. I don't think I can say a lot more than the others already have about the finds on the night. There were some fantastic hides amongst the caches, and some fav points will be given.

Every week I look forward to exploring new areas with The Demolition Crew, and this Monday nights run brought us from Eric's place in Kilsyth through to Gisborne, Macedon and finally Heathcote. A long night of caching these areas, with a few nice walks and a few drivebys as well. Many thanks to the CO's for their efforts in placing and maintaining their caches. Unfortunately we were only able to replace one of the two scheduled cache replacements as we ran out of time.

Seeing as it was night time as I left the Macedon area, I thought I'd try to knock off some of the last remaining caches from the area. Parked in the empty parking area. There was a good amount of reflectors still in the trees, I saw 1 that had fallen off, which I pinned back in. A short walk that lead to a cache in a spot that stood out clearly.
Just after signing the cache, a local pulled into the parking area and turned his lights off. I didn't think too much of it at the time, but then on my way back to the carpark, a ute drove past (whilst I hid behind a tree) and then pulled in next to the occupied car. Not sure what they were doing there, talking about stuff while I got into my car and tried to avoid contact. I think the locals are bored and might park there looking for things to do, hopefully it doesn't involve mucking with other people or their cars.

Attended cache last night together with TeamPPSS, spurred by the previous cachers log and removed one skeleton of a wallaby from the trail. Also removed many branches of a fallen tree to help create a path through to GZ. Cache intact and well hidden. Happy caching.
Heading home after grabbing some long solved puzzles in the Castlemaine area (and grabbing a heap of caches on the way) with dark setting in as I was heading home, this would be a good time to get this night cache so headed directly here. Drove straight past the published coords looking for somewhere safe to pull over, when back tracking found a suitable spot and wandered over. The micro was found quickly and the coords gathered and entered into the GPSr. Drove to the start location and started following firetacks into the bush. Disturbed a kangaroo (heard not seen) and by the sound, mut have been a big one! Got to GZ in short order and hunted for a few minutes befoere the craftily hidden cache was found. Thanks to AussiePuschaks for this one.
A big weekend away up north west was had which took in just over 100 caches, including 4 First to Finds, about 1000 days towards the Unloved Cache Challenge (GC3KWWQ) and some really fun adventures both solo and with new and old friends. Topped off with a great well attended event cache at Wedderburn.. (with yummy food too) Thanks to all the various cache owners along the way and my apologies upfront for the copy / paste style logging of those 100 odd caches.. Some of the Caches hadn't been found for between 6months and 18months which added greatly to my 15 years required for GC3KWWQ.. Thanks..
Many of the caches were a blur and thus there isn't too much I can add from an individual cache log point of view, my apologies to the cache owners who each have put a lot of effort into their respective hides..
I always like a night cache, i was just a little too far past it on my way up friday, however this time I'd already programmed it into the GPS and tired or not I wasn't going to let it get away again.. Thanks Aussie Puschaks for the cache.

Found this while enjoying a lovely crisp evening caching with Tom & Hayley. We would definitely suggest a strong torch be taken as one of ours slowly went flat throughout the night. We have been meaning to do this one for a while and we're glad that we finally did. TFTC AussiePuschaks!
Great cache and good fine with friends (Dean and Kylie) and use a strong torch
Very cold night under a full moon.
Thanks, Tom & Hayley
Very cold night under a full moon.

Thanks to TeamPPSS the first waypoint is back in business with a contact covered sheet glued into the micro container, containing the coordinates to WP2.
Happy caching.
Happy caching.
This cache formed a pat of my weekend away. We came up Kyneton for the Saturday / Sunday to watch some racing at the Kyneton car club. There was lots of time in between to do some caching. My first cache for the night. This one was on my must do list while up here. I am a fan of night cachers. When we got to WP1 and found the film container it was empty. So we had to find the start of the fire tack trail on our own. Simply yeh ? I looked on the map to work out where a good place for a fire tack trail was and soon had an idea. A quick drive and walk around. Looks like I was in the right place. After about 200 meters I found my first firetack and before I knew it we had the cache in hand. The cache was exposed with the pen out of it. I place it back a little more hidden with the pen in the container. TFTC. This cache will need a new WP1.
Found this one @ 2240 Hrs after catching the train back from Bendigo & trying to keep my daily average up!
Thankfully, my caching pack was in the car & i was able to strike out & collect this night cache!
Strange the things that you hear when you are out by yourself on a quiet, still night (GULP)!
Anyhow, managed to avoid the imminent dangers & perils & locate the cache!

My first night Cache.
My first night Cache.
This one has been on my must find list since I commenced caching and finally an opportunity arose to make the attempt. Arriving at WP1 after civil twilight had ended the 'cache' to get the starting co-ordinates was found after 'tangling' with a myriad of spiders who seemed intent on interdiction (too the grass was high so a caution on snakes etc might be in order at present).
At the starting co-ords an 'expedition' assembled consisting of 'The Morphoist', 'Dylan 7a', 'Metro Menance' and thine. Torches were switched on, Indiana Jones hats worn (though the shorts some wore seemed 'curious') and a GPSr set on 'backtrack' least we all get lost - quite a possibility if you saw this ramshackle crew. Into the 'wilds' we plunged, eyes straining for the firetacks. Slowly, we ran the trail along, shaking at the spidery encounters we met (not a fan of spiders) and the multitude of bugs drawn to our lights, though the bugs did not eat as much 'flesh' as spiders, so I had 'convinced' myself. Eventually, after falling over, cussing and laughing aplenty the sharp eyes of 'Metro Menance' claimed the cache.
After filling in the log it was 'back that way' towards a setting crescent Moon and 'base car-camp'. Never has a soft drink tasted so delcious - you'd reckon we had trekked across half of Victoria! Bear Grylls you ain't got nothing on us!
Enjoyed this caching experience - something out of the ordinary - and a hoot to undertake. Thank you 'AussiePuschaks' for the effort in setting up this multi, the caching notes and of course the 'trek' itself. TNLN.

Arrived in daylight to locate WP1 then down to the start of the Fire Tack trail. I was a little concerned that it was going to be difficult to locate the fire tacks due to the amount of trees with small silver metal tags nailed to them, I located a few fire tacks in the daylight and my fears were alleviated. Then it was off to a nearby town to grab something to eat before returning when it was dark to complete this task. Following the trail of fire tacks soon had me at the cache container. log signed and pathtag grabbed. TFTC
Conducted a walkthrough of this cache the night before new years together with Teamppss and assessed that all firetacks are still visible and in place. Also checked on the cache and removed the geocoin that had been in there for several months, to assist in moving it on. Today we went and checked on WP1 and found it was again missing, so a new container has been included to provide the coordinates for WP2 and the start of the night cache search.
Back up and running after the council cleared out the previous cache during a clean up activity. New cache is a sistema container with Geocaching sticker markings. Thanks to TeamPPSS for their assistance in keeping an eye on this for us. Dropped of Pilot 172 Geocoin for circulation around the area.
Well I had done this one before in a previous light(no pun) and tonight I thought we'd take the kids out for a quick hunt under torchlight. WP1 was out of it's hidey hole and it's growing mould on the inner cork. We replaced it where it should be. Starting at WP2 we picked up the trail of the tacs which we could see easy enough. When we got to GZ there was no cache to be seen.. muggled it looks like. I'd be here before so pretty sure I was looking in the right place and for the right thing - but nothing to be seen.
Don't reckon I saw any groups of 3 firetacs which I seem to recall also.. some might have gone missing over time.
either way, a nice idea.. thanks for a fun night anyways.

Wouldn't want to disappoint anyone during a night cache visit, so have temporarily disabled until I can verify the presence of the cache or muggles.
Just a quick note to confirm on behalf of Aussiepuschaks that the previous visitors Echo & Spice have returned the WP1 container to its original hide with many thanks, strange how it moved but lucky that it was found again.
12-02 1st find of the day at 21:36 and 873rd find in total.
We were in the area tonight so we thought that being dark we might have a crack at this one.
Got to the WP1 co-ords without a problem but that is where the easy bit ended. We spent quite a while searching the area with no luck, so we cracked the hint which confirmed where we were looking but didn't help us anymore than that. We read the previous log but were unable to see the added fire tack, so we headed back to the car.
Now the fun starts again. On the way back to the car, about 20m down the road from WP1 in the drainage ditch we spotted something shiny which turned out to be the missing container which had obviously floated loose from it's hiding spot. So we entered in the next set of co-ords and returned the container back to the area we thought it should have been.
The rest was a walk in the park. The tack trail was easy to follow and before we knew it we were at GZ with the cache in our hands.
(''\(OoO)/'') Thanks AussiePuschaks for the caching fun!

Cache is back up and running with a new micro at WP1, complete with firetack to help find it in the dark. Thanks to TeamPPSS for positioning the new WP1 micro for us; very much appreciated.
The first clue appears to have gone AWOL. A new container is enroute for repairs. Sorry for the delay.
Found 9:36PM. I've been meaning to do this one for ages. Finally got set for it & it nearly didn't happen. After much searching we couldn't find WP1! I used the clue & even got bitten by ants! I had to revert to "phone a friend" for help to WP2. I t appears WP1 is missing.
Anyhow the reflector trail was found & soon lead us to the cache. We too found a cheapie LED light was far more useful than my trusty maglight.
Thanks for the night cache. no swaps made.

I've got a soft spot for night caches, so I definitely had to come and do this one. Was a bit surprised when, just as I was warmed up, it was already over. Maybe I should have read the whole description ...

Loved this type of cache. Liked the way you start with a micro in the dark, which makes it more challenging, then you follow fire tacks to a cache. Also caching in the dark is always exciting.

Staying at the local guide camp for the weekend to help celebrate a birthday combination. Found some time to do a bit of caching with pprass.
Its good to take time out and remind yourself of the country darkness, and the wonders of night. Really enjoyed the stroll through the picnic area and surrounds searching, after a great meal.
thanks for bringing me here

Found in the company of xambo4u GAFF2. We were staying at Minda Killara for the weekend with a huge family group for a combined birthday party, so this cache was very convenient to do as it was not that far away.
We love these fire tack caches and love the excitement of finding the trail.

Geez I'm glad I never read that log about the long hike before now or I'd have really lost interest fast! . We walked it all from the point where the micro is hidden, (and we could have driven a fair whack of it), and I doubt it took us longer than half an hour. No trouble seeing the reflectors and an easy find at the end. All good really except that it was absolutely freezing and I'd forgotten to bring a jacket.
Thanks indeed Aussiepuschaks & Unicornnikita

Parked at WP1 and walked to the start of the reflectors. Had to leap over a few pony jumps, but the paths were fairly direct. Followed the heaps of reflectors through the bush to an easy big find.
We recognized the park as somewhere we had been before.
Thanks, Robmc.

I've done a couple of these before -- one in the east, and one down in Tassie -- and I've been looking forward to having one out this side of town. This is nicely executed: a lovely patch of bush, a clear trail, and a nice big cache at the end. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks to TaylorBrats for the company. I'm not sorry that we drove here this time instead of repeating your epic walk of the other night (crazy, crazy, crazy!!!!). Yes, TeamRubik, TaylorBrats really DID turn it into a three hour walk, because they were quite a long way from GZ when they set out ... on foot ... even sort of knowing that they had a long way to go. I got asked to come too that night, but my tent was a much more appealing location given my weariness at the time, despite my enthusiasm for doing this cache! That's why I came back tonight. Finally, thanks to AussiePushchaks and Unicornnikita for a good fun experience.

I'm not sure the previous finders actually found this cache, or whether they logged it incorrectly, but this certainly didn't involve a 3 hour hike!!
I couldn't foresee a time when I'd be here in the night to be able to do this cache, so I stuck around this evening until dusk to give it a go. The first micro was very cleverly hidden but found without too much trouble, and so I headed off not sure what to expect.
The first thing I discovered was my torch needs new batteries, it threw off just enough light to get around the waypoints but really struggled. I was glad you were generous with your fire tacks, it certainly helped me out!
Once at GZ I was glad to see another ammo can used, big caches are always preferred!
Well done on a fun night cache, I'm sure others will enjoy it as much as I did.

We set off on the 12th, but found it on the 13th.
Were camping nearby, and despite the weather forecasts, we had a near perfect weekend, and the night skies were beautifully clear - so how could I NOT do this Cache?
Am not the fittest hiker, and the hills nearly killed my poor old knees, so Cache involved a 3+ hour round trip hike, and was quite tired by the end owing to the fact we'd waited til the little ones were in bed before beginning, but I found it utterly worth the effort!
Had hoped to do this one with Sam Carter, but they had other concerns to deal with (and the lure was too great to wait!), so I dragged another fellow camper (Paula) along for her first Cache find.
She seemed to enjoy it! Although I dont know that she thanks me for the hill climbs haha
Cache might need some more camo - replaced one piece, but wasn't too keen on reaching in and fiddling in the dark.
Signed the log.

Thanks very much for the cache - will probably do this one again with some other folks in the not too distant future.

took the kids back out to this one tonight, FYI for other cachers, there is a recent tree down between the first set of fire tacs and the second, this meant we couldn't see the next point from the first. Just step to the side a bit while looking and you'll see them easy enough. enjoy - great cache.
Found in company with VK3JAP after another of our night bushwalks up Mt Macedon. Particularly enjoyed this one and had been eager ever since the notification came up. Firetacks worked a treat and took us right to GZ where we were rewarded with an ammo can. TNLNSL TFTC Hope to see more like it
Found by Teleturnbull and I at 10pm. We'd just come back from GC:Mokoda and were keen to give this one a try. Found it easy enough, the fire tacs are fun and something different. We were both a bit perplexed about the relationship between WP1 and the start point for the fire tac trail but we found everything ok still.
Thanks for a good cache..

I received notification so late tonight that I almost didn't make the 14th! Anyway the earlier rain had mostly cleared off and featherdwon and I went off to find this closest to home cache.
I have done a few of these before but I would have to say this one was very generous with the firetack placements as we had no trouble whatsover finding them and the cache.
A really good addition to the local cache collection.
Well done and thanks.

We saw this pop up on the email and waited until dark to have a go at it. It was good fun and we used a combination of a strong standard torch for finding the markers in the distance and an LED headlamp when up close. We did notice the metal tags on the trees which seem to be some sort of identification but managed to follow the firetack trail without any trouble. This night cache was a first for us and I hope a few more pop up as a result of this one. TNLNSL TFTC
We saw this one pop up and noted there were no logs yet. Being a cold, wet, night we thought that we would finish watching the movie on the TV before setting out with the belief that no one would be out on a night like this. So we casually drove out to WP1 and on to WP2 to complete the course. The moon was full and the stars were bright. Not a cloud in sight. The markers guided us to GZ and wouldn't you know it there was a log already in the book! We missed out by about 1 hour.
Anyway, we had to settle for 2nd to find on our first night cache.
