Found on a short overnight trip to Binna Burra with RovingWombat and we decided to go out at night to find this one. Heard a few creatures moving about but only spotted a lethargic skink. Thanks happyharries for placing this and showing us this beautiful forest.
Had to look hard for this one pervious photo and hint couple that look alike helped a lot
Co ordinates are well and truly off found it best scrolling back to an old hunt photo showing some rocks then we were able to locate as the previously written extra hint co ordinates were not loading correctly on our phones. Tftc
A stunning place for a walk. Well worth the visit. Thanks @1MinnieMoo for the coords. I think I would have spent a long time getting tangled up in spikey plants without them
I hadn't visited Binna Burra for about 60 years. After some scones, jam and cream, I decided to look for a cache. This was the nearest one. Unfortunately it was raining steadily, so I managed to pick up a couple of leeches. The coordinates seemed a bit off, so I was looking around all trees in the general area. The new log container is doing a great job of keeping it dry.
Quick little walk to the cache and back before a coffee and a scone.
The cache took a little searching and the hint photos in the logs wouldn’t load! Few moments of pausing behind trees as muggles went by. I also got hooked by spikey bushes a number of times. I tripped and fell too lucky the leaves made soft landing. Nice fresh new log signed and popped back into place. There’s no need to search under debris and leaf litter TFTC, found with Ali.

Was out and about today with 1MinnieMoo, SaintsMadHouse and KBreeAHH. Finding it was easier as a clue gave us information about the rocks.
1/5/2023 Find #6073
A fun day out with some of the gang today. SaintsMadHouse, KBreeAHH, Ponchomon11 and I had made a plan to head to Binna Burra and grab a particular selection of caches.
One of the tracks we were wanting was of course closed today, despite SaintsMadHouse checking just yesterday. This track however was fine, and would be the start of our hiking adventures today.
Arriving at GZ we began our search, then had to resort to SaintsMadHouse’s log for further information. With that in mind, we made the find, but not before 3 of us had all been snared - hilariously enough by the exact same wait-a-while plant. Contents were sadly extremely wet, but SaintsMadHouse had thankfully come prepared, so has put a preform container with a new log here and we have removed all damaged contents and left the old container upended to dry out.
Alternate coordinates taken by us today had the cache at S28°12.142' E153°11.286'
Thanks for the cache happyharries.

Previous pic helped heaps! Container full of water and unable to log. Dried out as much as possible. Good spot tho! TFTC
Same as other, log book wet and unsignable, and I only found with the help of an earlier picture posted...
Needed the previous photo to help us get the prize. The GPS had us closer to the track Junction and we searched around here before we looked at the previous logs – ithen the photo wouldn’t come up because of poor reception but eventually it did and we manage to find the cache - it was still full of water but we did manage to sign it and then emptied the water out. A very pleasant walk around the loop track. TF to C.
Found @ 1258 with Gumboot_Adventurer and Squirrel_joe - What a hiding spot. GPS is not on the money. With out the photo in a previous post I would not have found it. Cache is full of water and needs maintenance. TNLNSL TFTH
Found with help of previous finder’s photo. Alas, log is 100% wet and cannot be signed.
Visited here today with goldielover. Took heaps to find even though I had already found it. The co ords seem to be out quite a bit. I seem to be 15m away. Have put a photo up that may help narrow down your search. Find the tree next to the path. 8 metres to your right you should spot a likely looking couple. 1 may hold what you are seeking. I hope this may save the forest a bit.
Lovely older cache on the way out to the target cache. GPS was playing games with me and I ended up a good 15m away for 5 minutes before eventually being led back to the good stuff. Log was very damp, but still able to be signed. Thanks for the history and taking me to this aamzing place.
Quick find but agree would be better closer to the track to avoid too much foot traffic into the forest
Log wet and needs replacing, sorry didn’t bring a new one

Has to wait a while at one stage. GPS was all over the place but as we broadened our search hubby found it. Log is wet as previously stated. TFTC
This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed south to O'Reilly's for the weekend, where we completed a few hikes, and enjoyed the scenic views and waterfalls. We also participated in a few activities, including the watching of the Stinson aircraft documentary, bird watching and animal shows.
Today, the objective was walking the border track. After getting a bus transfer from O'Reilly's to Binna Burra, I departed the 21 km trail at 09:30 hr, and ended up taking closer to 30 km with a few detours arriving back at O'Reilly's at 16:00 hr. My route ended up following the Coomera Circuit past the many waterfalls and joining back into the Border Track, and then headed in the opposite direction east and visited Mount Hobwee. I then retraced my steps and visited Mount Merino, where I then largely followed the Border Track and stopping at the various lookouts. We finished out the day with a tree top walk.
This was my first cache of the day, and I didn't think it would be too bad, but as it turned out, that wait-a-while plant made this rather tough! I ended up using a few notes from past logs to get me in the right approach, avoiding the majority of that wait-a-while ivy, and it took a few minutes in searching around, before eventually making the find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, although the logbook was a little damp. Thanks Happyharries for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

It is so good to finally have this one in the bag. I think I've made multiple attempts over the years, bur family pressures meant that I couldn't dedicate the time to widen the search.
So happy that there are some explicit instructions in the logs, now.

Well like everyone else went in the wrong way and got caught in the waiting awhile and have scratches to prove it. No luck gps bouncing. So went to logs thanks to SaintMadHouse Sept post for a much better path description. Dropped off travel bug.
Day trip for Mrs Tinda and myself. It’s been a few years since I last visited here and of course the bushfire and rebuild has largely come and gone.
Nice coffee and lunch in the teahouse and then out with the walking poles.
This rainforest circuit is certainly an easy warmup or warmdown. Before we knew it, we were approaching the all-important signs and steps and my notes from previous logs were being re-read.
Remarkably, a tree has fallen at almost exactly the ideal point to leave the trail, so I stayed on one side and headed up, making the find at the second of the two most likely candidates.
The log is just slightly damp, but I think it will survive for a while yet.
TFTC and thanks to earlier loggers for helping us all to avoid too much damage to the environment here.

Doing a few walks in Binna burra and passed by this one. A previous finders description was perfect and made for a quick find with minimal trampling. Tftc
Got this one on the way to the coomera falls.
A wet day, but well worth it.
Thanks to the other loggers. We would never have got this without their helpful guides.

Needed the clue in the activity log as the GPS was erratic and we got sick of being caught in Wait-A-While (spiky vine).
Very nice. Loved looking at the scenery and this guy was a bonus cache on our adventure
After a methodical search and some help from the previous logs we came up with the goods tftc
We spent a few days at Binna Burra 2 weeks ago and I forgot to log this cache. We had a wonderful time there and hiked some of the trails.
Walked the Davies creek circuit and a detour to Upper Ballunjui Falls today. A good walk in varied forests.
As a previous finder has said, look for the 3rd row of rocks above the stairs, turn 90deg uphill from the track and you will find it.
Just after this cache we came to a redbellied black snake that needed some encouragement before leaving its sunny spot on the track.
Thank you for placing this geocache Happyharries

The gps was all over the place so not much help. We found this one by trial and error looking in the general area. The cache and log were in good condition. TFTC
Our group were very weary by the time we got to this cache having already walked over 30 klms during the day and were so looking forward to getting back to the carpark and get the boots off. Once at GZ the cache was eventually found by Team Tyrrell after we were all searching in every other direction, possibily due to the cloud cover. Now looking forward to getting back to Binna Burra to relax and grab a cool beverage.

Another of the great hike's ticked off today. A very early departure from Brisbane ( 0430 ) had us at Binna Burra , kitted up and ready to go at 0630. First stop Mt Hob Wee then onto Mt Merino. We decided to head back to Binna Burra via the waterfall track ( Coomera circuit ) which showed us some great waterfalls and swimming holes. This track was far more challenging with the ups and downs and creek crossings but well worth the effort. Back at base we had covered more than 30 km's but still had a little bit of energy to find this cache. I got caught up a few times in the " wait a while " vines whilst looking for this one and my legs have the scars to prove it Log was soon signed and replaced.
Thank for the cache CO.
Thank for the cache CO.
Come for a walk he said, you’ll enjoy it he said. What was a planned 22k walk turned out to be 30k. I will admit it was a great walk and I will be feeling the effects for a few days to come.
We started at 6.30am with a gradual climb to MT. Hob wee then over to Mt. Merino, some nice trails and some spectacular views along the way. There was the usual banter and a lot of laughs to be had as the trails did not really push us much on the way up. We found the info for Hob Wee and worked out the finals.
Over at Mt. Merino we could not find the tag and message the CO. Then started our return to Binna Burra, the paths we took were via a very stunning waterfall track (the Coomera circuit) and this was an amazing walk, but with all downs there has to be an up and sure enough the ups soon started and zig zagged up the mountain side. The distance away from GZ was 1.8k’s however that was by geobird and not by trails and that 1.8 took what seemed like hours.
Reaching a junction in our walk we bumped into the CO’s who kindly helped us with the information we needed for the finals for Mt. Merino.
It was truly a rewarding day and I must go back, those waterfalls are really awesome. A big thanks to those who organised the day, our tour leader Beardman75 and the CO for replacing the caches in time for us to find.
We grabbed this one on the way back, all good with this cache.

Great day to venture this part of the world. Took us 9 hours to reach this one. We first went to visit the waypoints of Mt Hob-Wee, then Mt Merino. Then followed the long and winding scenic route to this cache.
We walked past beautiful waterfalls and lookouts. The scenery was awesome. Took lots of photos and videos. Heaps of laughs along the way. Everyone was supportive of each other. Such a good company. It was a long walk but one we will never forget in a hurry.
Thanks for the cache and taking us here Happyharries. Coords were off on this one. Teamtyrell found it following instructions/waypoints from previous logs.

A fun find with lots of cute things inside the box! The coordinates are out a little bit so thanks for those hints from last finder !
Binna Burra and this section of the National Park is open, HOWEVER, Check with the website for some tracks access as half of the paths are still closed. The cafe is being rebuilt up here at the carpark so eat in Beechmont or bring a picnic. NO SHOP OPEN at the moment up there.
It is the first anniversary since the 2019 Bushfire started that tore through the Binna Burra, Sarabah, Illinbah, Canungra, O'Reillys areas. One year ago today the world as we know it in this area burned hotter than Hell. More about that later. Late yesterday I was alerted to the re-opening of the National Park here so I made a plan to head up and do a bit of a recon for future travellers. The roadworks are ongoing and cause an extra half hour to be added to the drive with delays at abut 12 sites along the road. I chatted to a sign guy who said that anyone doing the caves circuit - won't be able to use the road to get back to their vehicle - no foot traffic permitted along most of the road within the National Park due to the massive roadworks. I got to the top, parked and saw the cafe being rebuilt still. so bring a picnic and all supplies you need with you. Picnic areas are lovely!. The walk did take me about a half hour and the cache about 10 minutes to find, as suggested I started by walking along the Border Track and cleaned my shoes as I went in - make sure you do this. If you walk this way my description for the find makes more sense.
My GPSr had me at S28*12.148 E153*11.286 for where the actual box was. To make the find a bit easier turn uphill into the bush about 15m BEFORE the T-Junction at the signs and steps. This turning uphill at the third row of rocks before the stairs will lead you straight up to the tree it is behind. Like people before me I wish that it was hidden at a closer tree, I was extremely careful where I stood both in and out of the cache hide. Some muggles wandered by as I was completing the logbook and trackable drop so I simply stood perfectly still behind the tree and they were none the wiser. I grabbed a pathtags and left one of mine - I also dropped in a trackable to continue its journey.
I took a few photos and videos today and really enjoyed the walk - I can agree with the terrain rating. a nice meander along a good path with just one section of proper stairs (6 I think there were) and the rest of the steps were about 5 metres apart. Almost 13 months unloved due to the closure from a year ago.

Like many before us, we struggled to match co-ordinates with the hint and what we encountered at GZ, but eventually found the hide. TFTC.
Took a good 30 mins to find. 10 metres off track. Should really keep to the tracks within a protected rainforest. Watch out for wait o while plants which wouldn’t be pleasant if touched.
Found it after ages of searching. I recommend hiding caches were they can be accessed while on the track. We had to walk quite far into the rainforest and is probably not that great for the environment. Thanks anyway! It was great fun.

We were holidaying on the Gold Coast and had hired a car for a couple of days... and today we took a drive up to Binna Burra. After a pleasant lunch at the lodge, we took a stroll along the Rainforest circuit... stopping along the way to look for this cache. Almost had to put it down as a as the tree cover was playing havoc with my GPSr. Every time I got within a few metres of the indicated location, it jumped to anything up to 30 metres away.
Persistence paid off and I eventually found the cache hiding behind a tree... at the time my GPSr was saying I still 15 metres away .
Thanks **Happyharries** for putting this one out here...

I have been up here so many times and left this cache for the next time after returning from one of the longer walks. Well today was time to collect this one on the return from a muggle walk to Coomera Falls and back. (Finally)

One more on our trip from Sydney to Cairns now in the beautiful Binna Burra. Amazing that there are caches everywhere! Tftc & greetings from Sweden.
GPSr jumping all over the place. Wait-a-while all over the place too! Dropped TB
Took a little while as gs signal jumping around. Up hill off the track.
I found this one on the way back from an early morning walk to the Coomera Falls lookout. It took me longer than expected to find due to an erratic signal but got there eventually Thanks for placing. In good condition.

Staying in the lodge nearby so it was only a short stroll from the Teahouse. Very prickly vines had to be navigated but the cache was found safe in its spot. So many beautiful walks here we are spoilt for choice
This trackable was long time lost, but not really lost, it was just travelling unseen. Now it appears again, in the beautiful rainforests of Australia! It is now there, hidden between old trees and little kangaroos. I hope it will now travel again and collect impressions from all over the world for Lydia!

While in the area to find the Upper Ballunjui Falls cache we were heading back to the car and I was the only one who had not found this cache so I headed off the path to check it out. The coordinates had me wandering around and getting tangled in the wait-a-while vines before i spotted the cache. The last cacher had politely placed it on it's side and this has ensured that it has remained relatively dry.
I signed the log and replaced it as I had found it.

After completing the caves circuit and a short break for some lunch Mrs EMC and the two little chikins decided to carry on and do some more walking and some more caches. This was a nice quick circuit to do. The kids enjoyed it as they could run along without fear of tripping over tree roots and stones. It has somewhat been graded and was totally flat the whole way around. After walking the caves circuit you would think they would be tired but no! They were full of beans and ran. I had to call them back so I could go and find the cache. Luckily thanks to previous logs and other posted co-ords it was in hand immediately. I liked not having to look for a needle in a haystack. Thanks for cache. I left a butterfly travel bug as I thought this was a beautiful spot to leave such a beautiful creature.
