Figured that Londonderry Road was the only way in. My vehicle not suitable for this sort of road under the current conditions. So I set out with the GeoPups. Got within 900 m, but then the road turn to that type of clay that just builds up on your boots and there was no way around it so I aborted. I guess it’s not really a DNF, but the hint of Londonderry Road might be helpful to others.
Well this sounded like a great place for a spot of lunch, knowing from the description there is a turning place just placed the cache I headed up in the MX5 with camper trailer in tow, no problem get there and turning but with the GPS sitting on 0 metres and a good look around I could not find this cache never mind the view of the Currie River so it's a did not find for me.
out and about caching with 1 Lil Rafa in the Low Head Georgetown area, TFTC TNLN log dry easy find with clues. everything is good at GZ. glad for a smiley here. glad to find the cache. some deep ruts but the car was up to it. where was the view all the trees had grown up I guess.
Thanks for the cache FLANGE_1&TRIBE.
Spending the weekend in Low Head with RLD4963. After a slightly delayed start today (due to hot water issues at our accommodation) we headed out for a day of cacheing.
After searching for a few caches in the Pipers River area, we were heading back to George Town and decided to take a little 4WD diversion to find this cache.
Given the name of this cache, we were disappointed as there was no view! Anyway, the cache was a quick find, and we were soon on our way.

Thanks for taking us on a great little 4x4 track to find a small. It's nice to find a small instead of micro's all the time log signed and placed back where we found it.
The Tas_Fam_Bam crew have been enjoying a great Sunday adventure from 4x4, fishing and Swimming. This was a great little track to explore down even better when there is a Catchy at the end. TYFTC.
Note: we could not log as we had to pen and nor did the catchy.

Sometimes I wonder why I have a 4WD and then I get on old dirt roads like the one to this cache, it could be done in a standard car but it is always much more satisfying doing it with all four wheels. Anyway, found the cache, it was a bit damp but the log was fine. TFTC.
Found it. Good hiding hole. Kids loved it. Although. Not so much of a view now
A detour in the way home up the hill for a now overgrown view.
Today I made a late decision that I would head to g-town to collect some caches, a bit of a hit and miss here, I found some harder D/T combos but the easier ones seemed to be not there.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

A great forest drive for this cache and a short scramble up the bank before the cache was soon in hand. TFTC flange_1&tribe
To start me caching day,
I headed out this way
A short scramble up a cliff,
and I caught a whiff,
of a cache ... Hooray
Pity 'bout the views [:o]
The regrowth seems to have filtered them out
Still a mess around here after the last timber harvest
But a couple of kookaburras still think this place is worth laughing about
The rubbish dumpers have been busy too
Tasmanians still seem to think the bush or roadside is where any unwanted stuff belongs !! [:o]
Take a wander down the nearby trails and you will find everything from olde lounge suites,
to asbestos,
to tyres,
to mattresses,
to garden waste,
to whitegoods and tellys,
and random kids toys etc, etc,etc [:o]

Hi there flange_1&tribe.
We found your cache **"VIEW OF CURRIE"** at 10:21:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 18681).
We started the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We certainly took the road less travelled to get to this cache, almost had to engage 4WD.
We found 11 caches today & DNF'd 2. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The cache was soaked, we spent some time drying it out, but it still needs some "Owner TLC".
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

On my way to Bridport for the weekend and detoured to grab this one. Looks like an animal has disturbed the cache as it was out in the open. As previously noted, the original log has got wet and is unusable. I added my stamp to the dry paper left by the previous finder (over a year ago) and put it in small ziplok bag. TNL 1943 halfpenny. As it is intended to be an easy find, I replaced it at GZ but about 1m above ground level to hopefully keep it safe and dry. TFTC.
Found easy enough but log cant be signed to wet. Signed piece of paper and left in container.

While on my trip around Tasmania looking for caches, this one was found.
An early morning start after staying at the Tomahawk caravan park, I was now into my last day and now I'm headed for Devonport and the boat ride back home.
I noticed this one that was a little off the main road, I came to the first entry point and after a quick look at the track I decided to give it a miss as the track looked as though a real 4X4 would be better to tackle it and I headed off down the main road, I then came to the second entry point which look a lot better so I headed to GZ which appeared to be in the middle of the track so I looked one side first with no luck so it was over to the other and the cache was soon found.
Even though the cache is in a plastic bag, it is still full of water and the log is soaked.
**Thanks to flange_1&tribe for placing this cache.**
well was interesting unless you have a 4WD do not go in from monarch hill road. very steep walked up to check it out.
take Londonderry near big hill road.
best if you have a normal car that it is FWd nice view log needs maintenance book and container very wet
put it into a black plastic bag it may help.
summer beware of snakes here.

Signed, sealed, and delivered back! This is a very muggle free area! TFTC This is a great area and we're enjoying our third day's caching here. Also we thoroughly enjoyed the event last night
We've now got less than three weeks left of our six month stay from the Kurrajong area, (Blue Mountains) NW of Sydney we've been touring in the caravan and also visiting with our kids and grandkids in the Huon Valley
We've thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and I for one don't want to go home!

On one of the many alternate routes between a and b. Stopped to find this one.
Found eventually right where I first started looking. Removal requires a stick as it has sunk further into the hole than may have first been envisaged.

Have driven past this cache a few times - about time I stopped. Parked up at the start of the track off the Bridport Road and decided that it was a bit too steep and washed out to attempt in me old ute, so went for a walk. Coords spot on and located in the first place I looked.. Ta for the experience.. thanks..!!
Travelling around Australia and now in Tasmania!
Today we headed out from Loira to pick up a few caches on the coast, picking up some we didnt manage to stop at in the last few days.
Beautiful warm day today, much warmer than we have seen for quite some time.
Cache found in good order. But boy this was ridiculous. Mr Felix looked and looked but could not come up with the goods, so Mrs Felix joined in the hunt. She found the cache in the first spot she looked and also the first spot Mr Felix looked. [B)]

Hi flange
Got to the trail head and decided it would be better to walk than drive the Toyota Corolla up the track
Pondered whether or not to do so for only a few moment, as I had thought about it on previous occasions and decided not to, but this bucket listed cache had to be found.
The walk to and from the cache was very pleasant; taking an old unused logging track in and the road out; made a circuit of the trip
The cache was quickly to hand once at GZ.
Sainted it at 1114hrs
The cache is still in good condition
Unfortunately, the re-growth blocked the view of Currie or maybe I didn't go high enough
Thanks for my not too difficult walk and for the cache
Cheers OldSaint.

Found this one pretty quickly on the way to curries dam. Had to negotiate some angry bull ants to retrieve it from its hiding spot
TFTC couldn't take my Geomobile up to the cache as there was a deep puddle across the track. Lucky SScharlie was there to give me a ride up in their xtrail!
After NOT logging a certain cache on the shores of Lake Currie (aka Barren Shores - which are certainly barren as in not visited these days, but that's another story) & then coming straight from another where we missed out on nailing a FTF (but narrowly mind you, and more narrowly just not even finding it) we just had to grab one more. And it's getting dark. But you just can't go home after a successful day's caching with a DNF as your last can you? You can't sleep at night from the shame & angst. Or is that just me?? So this was our "just one more" for the day. One of us mentioned something about heading onto rough & rutted 4WD tracks when you can barely see what's in the headlights but there's a cache calling & the day's success must be assured. Then we came out on the, whoah what's this? A nice 2WD gravel road that took us straight to the cache. Just a little exercise required. Almost a PnG in fact & we're out of here with daylight to spare. Just. So you could say this made our day!
Yep miles from anywhere in the bush and a convoy of 4 x 4 muggles went by. We must have looked like looneys pretending to walk the geo dog
Spent way too long looking for this one, was looking on the wrong side of the road the whole time!
Coords point right in the middle of the road, for anyone else that goes to look for it, it is on the SOUTHERN side. TNLN Find #75 TFTC

4 years of re-growth have obscured the river, but a great detour nonetheless! TFTC
The track in was a bit hairy after all the recent rain but we made it in and back out again. The cache find was easy in comparison. Now to go and wash the geomobile! TFTC
Nice easy find thanks. A bit of a scratch around had the cache in hand. This trip to Tasmania going anticlockwise from Devonport is our third trip and the first in our motorhome. This is another cache, there will be many more, hopefully.

I never realised the views available from here. Great location.

Ended up finding the new forestry road and had the cache in hand after a quick search. TFTC.
Tried to take the only road showing on Google Maps, and decided the first stretch was too bad for our little civic. So walked in from the Bridport Roaad only to find a brand new forest road right past the cache!! TFTC.
We had a bit of GPSitus happening so followed our instinct and made the find. View is fast disapearing TFTC
Nice views of the valley - one that you wouldn't normally see as you are driving along the main highway. TNLN , TFTC.
My 1st find!!!
The view is rapidly disappearing but you can 'imagine'........
TNLN
Looking forward to my next!

Parked off the road and walked back. GPSr was jumping around and I nearly went onto the other side of the road.
Cache found quickly and logged.

A quick little detour to grab this cache. Could just see the river in the distance over the trees that are growing rapidly. Cache was located quickly. TFTC
Well this one qualifies as an adventure
Instead of coming up the logging road (which was not on my map), I came up a side side track from the highway. It was really 4wd country but got there anyway.

Once we located the right access road, we were able to drive within 5m of GZ. A quick find was completed. TFTC.
A quick drive by on the way to the coast. No view of Currie River Dam these days and it will not be long before there is no view at all! TNLN. TFTC
Found on a mild autumn day whilst caching in the George Town area. TN & left a soldier. TFTC
The way the trees are growing in the area it soon will not be a view of Currie. Looked in the obvious spot and did not see it but a further look came up with the goods. Thanks
Was a bit reluctant to put my hand in there, but I did and came out with the cache....many thanks.
Took a bit longer than it should have considering it was an easy find... Nice views. Thanks.
Great view over curries and George Town. Was a few muggles running around on the bikes, great weather for it.
After the alpha male of the pack had explored the GZ's location with a stick and declared it to not be in there the other pack member was left to put her hand in and retrieve the cache that 'definitely wasn't there!'
Another one in our Tassie trip. Went looking for some wine, missed the track at first, but there was a nice view on the day. TFTC.
Another one of those 'I didnt know this area was here' would be good to come back and explore one day.
Nice view as the sun set.
The stunning sunsets are something we dont have at home so it was a good place to watch it from.
Thanks Flange_1&tribe
and to future searchers .... be brave!!

Found this one easily. Lovely day for a lovely view to Curries and the mouth of the Tamar. Mini cachers also easily found this one too.

Not sure what track you are supposed to use to get here but we ended up on some 4wd steep goat track for the first part and then it finally opened up onto some nice maintained gravel roads. Passed an old abandoned mine shaft on the way in. Had to retrace our course back out after we unsuccessfully tried to find another way out to the main road.
Came in via an old track...then crossed the road I could have came in....but prefer the way I came...more interesting. Certainly quite a good view from here....well worth the short drive off the highway. TFTC Flange-1 & Tribe....Cheers.
took a wrong turn to start but found easily in the end great views well worth it.thanks
We had fun approaching this from a few 4wd trails (dont tell the boss!)
Enjoyed the view before settign about the task of finding the cache.
Took mem a while to realise I was on the wrong side of the road!
Found the cache in the right spot when I actually looked at the GPS..oops!...

Woo Hoo FTF!
We came into this one from the old bush track. Past an old mine shaft too. While kids were out rolling clay rocks down the hill I sussed this one out. Not too many places to hide a cache here but it looks like this hidey hole was built for it !!
Thanks guys....keep it up!
