As this cache has been out of action for too long and the cache owner has not responded or performed any maintenance, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to un-archive it.

I noticed this cache has a string of DNFs and that the CO has not responded to the [blue]Needs Maintenance[/blue] log. I have temporarily disabled this listing, to give the cache owner an opportunity to repair their cache in accordance to the cache maintenance guidelines. http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance
While I feel Geocaching.com can hold this location for a cache owner and block other caches from being placed nearby, it cannot be held forever. In other words… Use it or lose it.
Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the [blue]archive listing[/blue] link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.
If you plan on repairing or replacing this cache, please log a reviewer note on the cache page (not email) within the next 30 days to avoid the cache being archived due to non-communication.
Thanks for your cooperation.

Walked along the track from the Kaiapoi Island car park - first time here. Spent quite a lot of time searching for this but we were disappointed to come up empty handed. Thanks for placing it though as it brought us to this great walkway.
No luck for me. Had a good look, found the tree that was down but it was 5 metres from GZ
Had quite a hunt, but GPS wouldn't really settle. And there was the matter of the fallen tree.
Dropped in today. Yes there is a rather large tree which has fallen down at the cache site, however the cache, rather remarkable unharmed, but a little exposed.
There is rather a large, recently made horizontal pine tree right at GZ. May need a chain saw gang to sort this one out.
It is the first time we had been down to this part of the Waimak. We dived into the trees, completely confused as to where to go as our GPS was playing up. Found the likely location, but the GPS told us it was 20 odd meters away, but a little persistence and ignoring the technology payed off. TFTC
Pretty quick find and sign. GPS had right tree just a matter of where about the tree it was. TFTC
Found in a couple of minutes. Thanks for bringing me down to the river this morning.
Found with CatsPJ's after we meet up chasing a FTF on a new cache nearby. We then found this and another in the area. Cheers.
We pulled up here after a successful FTF mission on a cache down river. We pulled over and headed to GZ and TikvaNZ pulled over also. This was one of his first caches he found a few years back now. My cachelets were released to find the cache as I chatted with TikvaNZ. Up and down and around the tree they went. One fell over the other stuck in the tree. TikvaNZ found it for us and we signed the dry log one was very wet and culled some of the swaps of lollypops and stones. My girls made some swaps and we headed back to the truck and head down to the waters edge to throw some stones and I drove the truck into the river to the girls excitement. We threw a few stones collected some for my eldest 'Science' project for this week at school. Time up our sleeve for a few more before church.
Thanks for the cache.

GPS had me all over the place. In the end had to go with the most likeliest spot and soon found.
A pretty quick find in a deserted area by the river. GPS was a bit all over the place with the trees though. Thanks for the cache.
It took a wee while to locate the hiding place, as our GPS was all over the place, and even then, the cache wasn’t a quick find. TFTC
Found after a bit of looking round. It was just lying beside the tree so I hid it back where I thought it should go. TFTC
This is an area that I had no idea was here. I will be back to explore more when I have a bit more time available. Thanks for bringing me down here with your Tupperware in the woods.
Quick find where I sorta kinda guessed where it might be sloshing up on MTB. Dumped the bike and went in to locate. Log in perfect condition but I have wet bike shoes.
Checked it today - the new log book is fine, thanks for that, I dropped in a geocoin that has been out of circulation for a while,
No Problems, but as noted by a previous logger, the book is sodden. I've left a replacement with it, and the original is still in the cache in another bag.
Lovely walk down here, I really enjoyed it!

Log book was very damp although I was still able to sign it. Needs drying out or replacing.
Found it easy enough but the tree attacked me when I tried replace it! Left TB. TFTC
Coordinates a little off on my GPS but the hint made it a quick find. What a great area.
I let Chocochunk get his feet wet for a bit before heading in to look as well. Suddenly choco called out that he found it.
Walked in from the road to Woodford Glenn, then realised we could have driven a lot closer. Quick find once we got to GZ. TFTC
A favouritye track but the forst time I'd looked to find local caches! I emptied some water from the container & removed the large plastic toy which was forcing the lid open a wee bit. The log book is wet & needs some attention.
(10) Didn't know that road went that far. Did this one after 'I hate pine needles'. Cach was off co-ordinates but still findable. Log is very damp. TFTC
A nice quiet GZ today. Slightly damp underfoot, otherwise a good hide. Thanks.
TFTC. A beautiful winters day - perfect for out by the river. A well stocked cache.
Decided I needed a stretch. Approached from Doubleday Rd. Initially thwarted by big trucks but found small detour through nearby gate. Easy find. Cache logbook getting damp.
Found this one after Poplar-ity...neat little spot here as well...well and truly off the beaten path! TFTC!
Wow; the tidying up and developing that they've done down here is fantastic. What a neat 'public' resource the riverside reserve is becoming. Quick find on a lovely sunny mornings adventure with the family. Cheers.
two of the 4 wolfies found this one
the area around the cache is damaged from flooding but the cache is ok
thank you

Wandered around a bit and eventually spotted it. GPS accuracy under the trees on a wet day made it more challenging.
(The log book was very damp.)

Bag keeping log wet, so put on top so hopfully it can dry out a little. Next finder please put back in bag. Signed as BF as writing hard. TFTC
The log book is now completely soaked - unlikely to dry out inside the plastic bag!
A spot we did not know about - that is now on the rada

The iPhone had me going all sorts of places. Should trust the nose sometimes

(129) I have been down this way before so was a pretty straight forward find.. Moving through them very fast today.. This is good.. TFTC, SL
Lack of local knowledge here for me too but had a local along so managed to find the way and park very close.

I have biked past here on the track a number of tmes. Today drove to within 30 mtres. A bit of a scratch around to find it. TFTH TNLN.
Local knowledge is a wonderful thing, unfortunately I don't have it so enjoyed a bit of a walk to the cache.

Short walk to the cache, with more planning I could have almost parked beside it. TFTC
Quickly located cache. Nice location. Don't you just hate it when you walk 350m and then find you could drive to 40m away, then have to go 350m back!! SL TFTC
A really great place to put a cache. The track is invisible from the road, but not far away, so another stumble through the grass was all that was needed. Thank you.
We had a nice walk along the river! TFTC!
Happy new year and greetings from Germany
Michaela and Sascha
P.S.: Took the wildcoin!

A fascinating story about your anniversary, an interesting combination of a meeting of strangers for fitness and caching. ....congrats on your achievements.
Just a quick walk and an easy find for us today, found with Yeetrees on a cache outing.

Congratulations on this joint placement, YuGeo4 found this one; I was looking in the wrong spot and still waiting for my GPS to settle down, when YuGeo4 said he had found it, don’t you just hate that, oh well never mind, TFTC TNLNSL (1151)
Easy find this morning. Why would people snap off all those young saplings nearby though? Such a shame.
loved the walk in thanks for sharing you walking place with me

We drove to quite close. We had bit of trouble with accessing these river bed type areas this trip as Mrs Nuvi kept wanting us to turn down access roads that were below us and not the slightest bit accessible from the road, but in the end approached from the right angle, drove to a conviently placed little parking area and trotted off through the long grass in straight line fashion. TNLN TFTC
As usual we took the long walk in.But in hindsite we could have driven to it.After a bit of a hunt we had it in hand.Took the Jeep Travel Bug.Poor little 4x4 looks like he's had a hard life.So we'l send him somewhere fitting.
What a fantastic area we live in. This cache brought us to a new place for us, but we will be back having seen what a wonderful area it is. TFTC Cache a bit damp so dried it out and replaced the silica pads. Left little red jeep TB as we thought it would like to do wheelies on the gravel.....However a bit of a muck up meant we collected TB before previous geocacher had logged it as being left. Therefore it still shows as being in Margarets View and we can't change it cos we don't have the number anymore!!!

We took the easy option and drove the pretty awful road to within about 50m of the cache. Easy find for StreetWalker - he had raced on ahead of me. Cache was a bit damp inside, but the log was OK.
TFTC.

#864 (2/4 on a trip north of the 'mak). Trickiest part of the cache was the drive in. TFTC. Took Dawn Ho coin.

I actually did this one some time ago, but see that I didn't log it on line. TFTC.
Nice easy start to the caching day. Cache seemed pretty exposed, making for an easy find. Cheers Gav [3851]
Why do we leave the longest walk till last for the day? An easy find covered it up a bit more. TFTC
