Was out with @jamesknowlson caching for the day when we came across this ghastly cache. We are both locals to Albany and this area and have lived here for long enough to have heard every person say “never go off the paths at the gap, it’s way too dangerous”.
We decided to leave this one today because it’s wayyy too dangerous. I’m surprised it was allowed to be placed there. People have lost there lives not even 20 meters from the cache.

Did not attempt. The signs clearly say to stay on the paths. This one takes you a fair way off the path onto a cliff edge.
Perhaps if it got moved closer to the main/safer area?

I’m very surprised this cache is allowed given all the signs to stay on the path so I refrained from searching for it- I did enjoy the views but.
(late log, catching up on caches found on the way home on Monday)
Found on the way home from WAGB hidden at one of hubby's favourite places in Albany & another "MUST SEE!" attraction every time we come down this way. It was certainly chilly, the sheer force of the water rushing up along the gap was an incredible sight to see & I was glad I had packed my puffer jacket (even if it made me look like a marshmallow) found the cache easily & replaced it a little further under the rock so it's not quite as visible. Amazing views!

On our third visit to the car park (long story) we made our way directly to GZ for this cache, feeling the eyes of the crowd on the platform across The Gap on us! No problems rock hopping over this side and finding the cache. Some very instagrammable shots were taken but we drew the line at lowering ourselves down to the very scenic mini-gap through which you can see straight down. Great place for a cache, worth a favourite. TFTC bottsbunch!
Out with familysteiner on wagb 2021 weekend. Quick find at the gap. Windy but beautiful tftc
Amazing views from here, the power of the ocean, took nothing and left a trackable, log is very full, thanks for the cache.
Nice view even it says stay on path. A small container not regular but easy to find, tftc!
It's alway a wonderful bonus to see a decent sized cache these days.
Thanks for the adventure out over the incredible rock formations out here.

Got a few looks from the car park when we veered “off the path”! But another view from this angle was worth it! TFTC bottsbunch
After 2020 was torpedoed by Covid it's time to write a line under all that and get going again, Geocaching included. Here's our first find for 2021, while having a few days in Albany during the long school holiday. Really feels like you are on the edge of the world along this coastline. The Gap is fine in its own, busy way but this cache takes you to your own quiet spot nearby where you can soak it up in peace.
Thanks for the cache bottsbunch, not an ammo tin anymore, just a small Systema, but dry and in good condition.

Thanks bottsbunch for bringing me to this location and taking the time to hide and maintain this cache. I found the cache at 13:34:00. This was my Find 20 for today out of a Total number of 23 Finds and 2 DNF for for this Caching Outing. The cache was found in Good Condition and I signed the log and returned the cache as I found it.
This find brings my total number of Finds to 5153.
What a thrill. A favourite place faced with natures fury . Epic but easy find x

I was a bit hesitant to go grab this one but Beau was up for the challenge! He made it up there and found within no time, logged it with B+K and it’s such an amazing view/ thanks for taking us here it’s a beautiful spot TFTC
This one has stay on the paths planted everywhere and lots of muggles showing up by the car load every couple of mins. If I am ever back in Albany I may pick a quieter time to attempt this one. Thanks anyway
First time here and it’s breathtaking. Gave ourselves 10mins to find this one and voila we got it. TFTC
What a magnificent view. Unfortunately I was unable to sign the log as only the pen casing was there and I forgot to pack one before heading out today so here is a picture of the view as proof.
On a family fun holiday all across the coast, it’s been an amazing day with the best views and stunning spots to enjoy and cache tftc today
It's been too long since I've found a cache... Thank you, nice up here away from everyone
This rock is like a highway.
We did this easy little hike and found the cache quickly.

After visiting the Gap I wandered up here for a quick find. Great views from here too. TFTC
An awesome cache with an awesome view, thanks for placing this one here, loved the location, here on a self guided tour and I had to do this one before we left for the next location. Had heaps of fun getting to this one and we were rewarded with some amazing views. TFTC!

On a midlife gap year around Australia we are staying in Albany for a few days. Today we ventured out to the National Park to explore. This spot was as expected, a bit of a beauty, although we were a little disappointed by the excessive structure in the "way"... Having a look at the geomap I saw that there was a spot over here away from the crowds, so took the opportunity. Thanks bottsbunch - much better undisturbed by all that engineering. Took TB.
Bit of a hairy climb but worth it. Saw a few whales too Tftc favourite point awarded ️
Found on a visit to Torndirrup National Park today. I felt a bit suspicious venturing off path right by the all the signs that say don't venture off the path! But it was quiet and I reminded myself that the first time I visited here none of these paths even existed...and I wasn't going anywhere near the edge anyway. Then I summoned up all my rule breaking courage and went for it!
A nice short walk across the rocks and the cache was soon found.
Thanks for placing.

Great spot! What top views. Very sad no swaps etc. I’ve left a TB For the next finder
We headed out today to collect some smilies around Albany, happy to say we came up trumps and not only walked away with a smilie but amazing views TFTC
Took the wrong path at first which just got us further and further away. Back tracked and ended up at gz. Great views ! SL TFTCM Greetings from NSW

In WA from NSW for the WA Goes Big event with Deep_99. Nice quick find. SL #3748 on streak day #2286 TFTC
Travelling since January from Geelong we went up the middle to Darwin and crossed the border to WA at the start of May.
We have driven the gibb river rd and been up to cape leveque.
As we travel south we have zig zagged from coast to inland and seen so many amazing things and done some truely adventurous activities
We have set up camp and will now cache the area as we discover new things, places to visit and sights to see
Thanks to caching we see more than a muggle does

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9962. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.
I took a quick run up from the carpark to find this one while the family were heading back from the bridge. It didn't' take too long to locate but I wish I had brought the drone.
Thanks bottsbunch for the cache.

Found two caches within a meter of each other. Not sure if they’re two separate caches or one was meant to be in the other but we signed them both hahahahaha TFTC
Out n about with kiwinic grabbing a few hides, thanks for bringing us to this great spot. TFTC:)
The kids and mum had a blast at the gab an I couldn't resist to make a quick find.

Interesting to see the Gap from the other side though was extremely careful after the unfortunate accident two weeks ago

Please be careful when venturing off the paths here, as a student has lost his life after going too close to the cliff on this side of The Gap.

TFTH . Always loved coming here and watching the waves too. Spent many hours just resting and watching here with the family over last few decades. Gotta love the Great Southern.
Road trip to Esperance, by passing some friends and family along the way. Have a hole week off to enjoy time away from work and all the stress. Picking up caches along the way. Tftc sl tnln.
Down south for a couple of days with 2 muggles, but still had the opportunity to find a couple of caches, this being one of them. I hadn't read any logs so didn't know there were two containers. I only found the ammo box.
beautiful place!!! TFTC
beautiful place!!! TFTC
Found both the ammo box (where the description says it should be) and the new click lock container (placed on the 24th of January) within 1,5m of each other. Of course the thought of uniting them and placing the smaller box into the ammo box only came to my mind after getting back to the car. Maybe something the next cacher could do?
Great location, awesome scenery and a nice walk up the rocks to the cache.
Thanks for the hide and the maintenance of the cache!

Finally a tour with the-shredder and skyryser again! After so long time of separation. Found this on our Tour through WA. Thanks for showing this great place! TFTC
Well, we did find an Ammo box! Sadly, very little in it and I'd left my bag of swaps at the car. Nice to find a deserted spot here. TFTH
Not an ammo box. Now is a small sestima click lock container. Looks like some miserly cacher knicked the ammo box. Shameful done. But sestima is bang on coordinates. Thankfully the view and location is amazing. Tftc and taking me slightly off the beaten tourist track
Found it. Cache muggled, but we found where it should have been and placed the cache we found in the Carpark in its place.
