Logs
Previously logged under team account BoogieRogue. Re-logging with my individual account. Found it while doing the cross island walk. Great tranquil spot for a cache. Took Galapagos tortoise TB. TFTC
Even after reading previous log about rats - not a personal favourite of mine- I decidedly to tackle this geocache. A quick find under the circumstances but it took me a bit longer to get back up.
Found during a drive around the island - must come back with enough time to complete the walk
My final day on the island, and the sun had come out after the worry about a cyclone which never materialised. So I wanted to do a hike. Found this at 13:04, and ate a papaya (if I remember correctly) in the shade here before continuing. Thanks!
The hint was excelent!
The box is in good condition, no aunts inside. But the box back it it's safe place.

LOVE THE COOK ISLANDS AND EXPLORING WITH THE KIDS. DID NOT FIND ANY ANTS AND THE BOX IS IN GOOD SHAPE. ALSO FOUND THIS ON 3/18/11 BUT DID NOT LOG IT IN.
Geocaching friends.
I am the owner of this cache and live in N. America. My local contact for this cache is no longer able to help me with maintenance. I ask a favor of visitors to the cache until I am able to return and locate another local contact. If you spot any issues with the cache and are able to help with some maintenance during your visit I would very appreciate your help.
The previous log said perhaps the ant problem is related to the tape on the container, if so could it be removed. The location should keep it dry enough. If you spot anything else in need of repair please do so.
Thanks ever so much and enjoy your visit.

Out on the scooter with Bluefirebird. What a gorgeous place to take a vacation. We are really enjoying our time here and of course we must geocache. We stopped here and found the cache. There were some ants (yuck) but we think our companion Muggles are now interested in becoming geocachers. TFTC
Taking a scooter tour of the Island and stopped off at this cache (with muggles in tow). They enjoyed the experience - They did NOT enjoy the ants. We looked at the contents of the container - added some treasures. No trackables...
Awesome place. Really enjoyed our holiday - thanks for the cache.

Found with my local muggle friend. Easy find and as previous finder, the cache is having ants.
The box is wrapped with silver duct tape and I wonder if it is the glue pf the tape that attracks the ants.
Anyway, the content is all good.
Took a TB, LN SL
TFTC
Cheers

TFTC! It was the only One I could find in Rarotonga. A lot of Ants like the cache too...! I took out the TB 565612 to show him the other side of the world. Der Goucho from Germany
Found our way to gz on our hired scooters. No trouble finding the cache. Left a couple of Tb's we brought over from New Zealand. Good one, thanks.
Good adventure on the scooter. Picked up a travel bug that will make its way across to OZ.
Great day in paradise to go find a geocache! Nice cache location. Carried on to the needle & the other side of the island. TFTC. Have left a travel bug all the way from Christchurch NZ.
Sorry for messing folk about - I did not click the "dropped off" button when logging my find on December. This is now done and should allow others to log the progress of the coin!
Cheers

Quick and easy grab while here. Container is small so had to squeeze in the TB's I had been holding for this trip. Too bad there are not more physical Caches on this island. Awesome place for it.
Today we rented bicycles and did a trip around the island. It was a nice trip on mostly flat roads with some great ocean views along the way. Our first stop was this cache location. We had to wait a few minutes until a girl had finished filling up her water bottles and walked away but after that we could find the cache easily and write our signature in the log. We also took two TB's.
Thanks for placing this cache on beautiful Rarotonga and greetings from two Swedish cachers.

Bit of a challenge this one. Firstly in finding the right road...Cook Islands not noted for their excessive signposting, then when I did find right road and go off bike, GPS showing me "7 secs to replace batteries', and guess what...replacements back at hotel. When I did get back, took a little while to get to GZ...undergrowth goes so wile here with so much rain and heat.
I wish all caches' in NZ we in such good condition...locations excellent and protected...from everything except ants....and they bite too
Picked up TB and Geocoin and will move them on. Had one to drop too. but cache box a little to small...bugger...
cheers V

Decided to try for this one while on holidays for Vaka Eiva. Fairly easy find but slightly too high for me. Eventually got it down. Glad I could tick this one off
First cache at the cook islands couldn't do the treck...
IN: GC Kilroyman (he likes to travel around the world)

Right at the start of the cross-island-trail this (lonely?) Cook-Island-Geocache-Box. A must. Fast found. TFTC says mariachi27
Glad this cache exists so I could drop a TB on Rarotonga. Took the family, including my 3 year old G.daughter to the Needle...a highlight of the trip. Thanks for your great description of Cross Island Track. Picked up TB
Our first international find!, TFTC, left our first Travel Bug & calling card, hope the travel bug goes to many places around the world! Awesome island, cheers

We have returned from a beautiful 2 weeks on Aitutaki and Rarotonga.
This is the only physical cache left on Raro if not in the whole of Cook Islands.
I just had to find it and so enjoyed the walk from the town to the cache.
Thanks for placing it dmcl and thanks to Tau for helping maintain it.
The cache was fine when I visited.

Started off Colorado's Coolest Bug TB for it's upcoming world journey! Nice cache spot!
Hired a scooter for a few days on the island so we zoomed right up to cache & also to have a reckkie of approach the start of the Cross Island walk via the Needle & waterfall earthcaches which would be done in the company of karma reprint whom we knew was also holidaying on the island about the same time. After the container was returned, a group of children were walking home from school, well accustomed to seeing tourists in the area. Of course won't be returning on scooter to do the Walk as that ends up across the other side of the island. Thanks for this cache on such a well located place.
Decided we needed to do a drive by(I mean scooter by!!!) to check out the walk up to the needle. Stopped on our way to pick up this cache and actually sign a log sheet. Followed the hint and soon had a good cache in hand TFTC
Easy find, was hoping to drop off TB's but they are toooo big! The other Cache in town is out of service, so not left with many options. Will take TBs on a further journey to NZ it will definitely be cooler!TFTC
For lucky me it' s my third trip to Rarotonga in 3 years. This time came by scooter to this spot. Fairly obvious where it was going to be, but a little tricky approaching it. Presumably was not seen by locals!
Great to see the cache is still there and in good condition.
Thanks so much for this cache...somehow doing an overseas one made me reflect on the marvels that bring together the locating of a cache, and the wee "buzz" that goes with it. That "aha" moment of "yep, found it!". What a great activity that families from all over the world get to enjoy!
TFTC! TNLN. SL.

Our 3rd trip to Rarotonga, but 1st as cachers so thought we'd grab this one. cheers mate [8]
We wondered what the locals thought as they biked past while we were loitering there. Cache all good.
Without close access to a map, it took a little while to find the right road, but eventually used my geosenses to head in the right direction. A little further down I saw a sign to the needle, so I knew I was on the right track. At the GZ, it was a quick grab.
Signed log, cache is in excellent condition. TFTC and Meitaki maata!

Enjoyed a scooter ride discovering the island. A nice find and away from the local eyes. TFTC
Picked up a rental car in town after Mrs Zorgon first waited in line at the police station for the privilege of paying $20 for a Cook Islands drivers licence.
Where to go go now? This cache was nearby so a perfect first stop.
We are only the second name in the logbook and I see now that it was recently replaced.
Cache is in good condition.
Many thanks

We just replaced the cache as we had a spare box at hand.
Our log will follow soon. All good again! Give it a go!

We had a spare box at hand and replaced the cache - we do not know if this was the correct spot but it should not be too hard. The new box is a lock-and-lock container with a bit of camo. It contains some swaps and a brand new log book. Have fun on Raro!
I was a bit disappointed not finding this cache.
I did see something rather large while I was walking down the bank that scurried away in a hurry.
Wife and kids didn't follow me after my little man squeal LOL.

After a quick find in town, it was disappointing not being able to retrieve this cache. As per earlier logs we had a young chap asking us if we were looking for a 'box'....Yay!!!! But alas he couldn't find it neither! So we were quite sure it wasnt our cache finding ability.
So until the next time we return to this beaut island, hopefully someone else will be more successful.

Could see where this was, but didn't like the look of the terrain to access it
Although I had an idea of where it was, the terrain was not that easy especially when wearing a summer dress and flip flops...I was about to give up when despite all my precautions a local kid spotted me. He came and asked me if I was looking for something. I replied that I didn't find what I came for and he asked whether it was a grey box. A big smile lightened my face, I asked if he knew where it was and he brought it out for me...one could call this cheating, but I now know that there is a great guardian out there for this cache! In the end, I still had to replace it myself and that was bit of a mission lol.
Quick find while touring around Rarotonga, will write more when I get home. TFTC Dripping TB's

A beautiful day on Rarotonga. Paradise even comes with geocaches! Tftc. Took travel ingot placed Jan 24, 2013.
Picked up the Nordrhein-Westfalen geocoin and left the Herby's Gold Ingot Truck trackable. Nice easy cache with a couple of passing locals asking me whether I needed help. Much enjoyed. Too hot to do the hike, though. Ah, yes, I also took the Canadian moose Christmas tree ornament. I'm a Canadian living in NZ for the past 10 years and I really miss home at that time of year so that item is perfect for me. TFTC!
Thankfully this was a pretty easy find after failing on the fruits of Rarotonga cache. What an incredibly beautiful little valley made even better by zooming around on a scooter. TFTC.
- Found Nov. 30, 2012 - Very warm afternoon for a walk up from Cooks Corner. Easy find - very well maintained (Tau). Left a wooden carved Canadian Moose. The Moose is not a trackable but would like to stay somewhere warm and is actually Christmas tree decoraration. I removed a travel bug KGT4G6 that I will place in a cache near home later this week. Just home last night.
Been a while since I was here but all is well. Cache is in good shape with lots of room in the log book. Thanks to all for keeping this cache in good order. I cleaned it up a bit and returned it to its place. Enjoy your stay.
In from the states staying on the island for a few days. Trying to get in as much as we can while we are here for the short time. decided to rent a scooter and stop and grab this cache while in the area. TFTC.
Pleased that I had my brother with me as I was too short to reach it easily.
Quickly found with the clue, in the company of Lytteltonwitch. Sussed out the needle walk at the same time too.
Our 2nd Rarotongan cache. A quick find despite a few folk working nearby. TNLN - TFTC.
Good find thanks. we walked up the track about 40 min until we came to the rocks and saw the needle. It was as far as we intended going and pleased we made the effort.
It was a great 6 days on the island.

Found whilst holidaying in Rarotonga!!
My partner in crime (a.k.a girlfriend) and I rode our scooters up to the GZ, we had a fair idea where the cache was probably located but checked the hint to be sure. We headed to where we needed to be ensuring none of the locals saw us as we wanted to avoid the cache being muggled.
Cache was soon easily in hand and the log book signed.
Added astro geocoin, removed fish fridge magnet.
TFTC My first one overseas!!!

Another find on our Rarotonga trip. Took a bit of climbing and searching - and lizard avoiding - but found it in the end! TFTC.
Easy find, just as dusk was falling. On our way to Trader Jacks for a meal with team Qmoto
Tried this one last year by myself in most unsuitable footwear, found this year while out with my brave son on a scooter!
picked up tb and taking it on it's way

TYFTC! we left our travel bug there and hope, he will find his way back home to Switzerland.
Drove over this earlier in the day, and returned later to actually find it. Nice easy traditional find. Cheers Gav [11943]
Found it!
We're here only four days on our world trip, but what great four days it's goong to be!
In: TB (part III of our new tagz)

Easy find while out on scooters, didn't do the cross island walk this time - we'll just have to visit Raro again!
There was a break in the rain on Sunday afternoon, so decided to go and look for a couple of caches. Had no luck with the cache in town, so headed on from there to this cache.
A nice drive by and easy find. Our first find in Rarotonga.
Signed log, NINO, TFTC.

The ants are doing just fine. Quick find before going up tothe Needle. Left TB.

We were fascinated by the beardlike lichen growing ontrees and fences just down the road. See photo.
Thanks.

Found while out to do the Cross Island track. Left geocoin and took travel bug. TFTC.
On the island for our niece's wedding, we took the trusty yellow scooter out for it's first run. Our first cache that showed a "west" co-ordinate, instead of New Zealand's "east".
Easy find - nice clue. Took a lanyard to hang scooter and accommodation keys on. Left our calling card and a small anchor. TFTC'
Cache is dry.

Cache was being guarded by a rather large spider! We also saw a couple of large pigs & lots of baby piggies in this spot. This was only our second find ever, the whole family are really enjoying this!
Took: TB, red crab & frog

Over shot this as we were to busy looking around, and thought I read somewhere it was up the track.
Was very supprised how far the scooter got up the track with two adults on it and after the rain.
Man i had a blast slidng our way up there!...... and back down.
yes we were K's up the track.
Cache covered in ant nest and ants, even thinking about it makes my head ITCH!

#1,018: Fresh Dirt.
I stopped to do this one after getting off the bus, doing the other one in town, and walking up this way to start the Cross Island Walk. I had arrived in at 7am this morning, and was a little concearned about the weather around the Needle, but since I only had two days in Rarotonga, I decided I should try my luck. As I approach GZ for this one, I noticed some fresh mud/dirt had been deposited right on the slope by GZ. It was actually still really wet stuff, but I was able to side-skirt it, and make the find. All in good shape, and I left a trackable that I had brought from New Zealand for the next seeker to find. Happy Trails!

Checked this one out the day before but some locals had decided to hang around on their cell phones. Sunday was a good day to locate. Co-ords spot on and an easy find. TFTC
[Went to the right place], just didn't go under bridge because of all the rain this week.
Our first find in Raratonga!! Here on this beautiful island for R&R and, of course, some caching. Thanks for placing a cache here.
