Sims_family asked if I was up for a caching trip today, and as I wasn't working, I said, "Yes", and we made an early start. The ladder and the kayaks were packed into and onto the Ginja Ninja, and off we went.We had some specific caches in mind and picked up a few along the way. We only picked up some of our target caches; we decided that a couple would be more approachable after more rain.It is a lovely part of the world to be in caching when the weather is like today. Even the GPS seemed on our side today and took us straight to the cache.A quick find was made of a cache in excellent condition.Thank you for this Traditional cache, McAdies.

Heading to Ballarat today with Dromaniax for some key caches to fill in gaps for a few challenges I am working on. Today I needed a letterbox and Earthcache and a tree climb so this was the perfect area to head today with three of the things I needed for the challenges. I might have been here for the letterbox but of course I couldn't miss this one while I was here.Thank you McAdies for the smiley

Amazing to think of all the mining and all the infrastructure that was used back in the day. Other than seeing a few things, the forest has taken back over. Made the short walk in and made a quick find at GZ!! TFTC!!

Today we farewell our temporary home at Bunjil Lookout and set off for the events in Ballarat, stopping in for a cache or two before and afterwards.

A relatively quick find after parking near the information sign.

Thanks McAdies for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Mr Morris has a few weeks off but with border restrictions we thought we'd do a slow lap of Victoria while we had some good weather.

After a couple of nights staying with friends in Ballarat we headed to Smythesdale to the free camp on the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail although we are not tackling that on this trip. After setting up camp we headed out into the bush not really knowing what we would find after the nasty storms over the last few days.

As we pulled up we recognised the cacher doing the geocaching dance in areas with cloud cover and lots of trees. It was AusFox; Mr Morris had his eye in and soon spotted the hide.

I decided to head out to Enfield and surrounding areas to find as many caches as possible in a 2WD.
The recent windy weather has caused a lot of limbs to drop and trees to fall which made some locations a little more interesting.
I was having issues with reception here, which was very frustrating until The Morris arrived and helped locate the hide.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the Traditional Cache McAdies

Find #2403 for me. Found with virbull at 3:58 pm while visiting the area from Bendigo. We almost ran out of time on this one again today as I generally like to leave Ballarat before 5pm, but we were so close after finding the other two nearby bush caches (the ones requiring a bit of a walk for us as I only have a 2WD) so decided to finish off with this one and your letterbox cache despite the time. This was a quick find for us in a great location. Thanks for bringing us here today McAdies and thanks for the cache!

Another great bush cache on a perfect caching day. An easy find and a starting point to a second cache a little further away. Thanks for this placement.

TFTC. We had taken the MH to Haddon for the night to attend the event in Sebastapol tonight and then move on to Geelong for the events on Saturday. We arrived just after lunch so thought we would go out and find some caches. After finding the letterbox we returned to the vehicle via this cache. Took the TB to move on.

With a nice change of cooler weather today after the heatwave it was good to get out and find a few 4wd caches in this area with Theo the geodog. This was our second find for the day and as it turned out one of many that had a golden history attached to them. Thx McAdies for getting us out here. Interesting info board to read. Guess what - it's us again.

Up to Ballarat area today from Melbourne for some caching on this lovely New Years Day Holiday 2018.

Recently I was playing around with Project-GC challenge map and realized we qualified for a few challenges up in Ballarat.

With a souvenir on offer today we decided we would head out and pick up a few challenge caches, a few trads, an earthcache and some letterbox caches.

This was our ninth cache for the day.

After doing your nearby letter box cache we were all back in the car when we realized you had this one nearby to the carpark. Out again and log quickly signed. TFTC McAdies.

Having a wander around the area today while we are in a vehicle for the road conditions. We parked at the handy parking place and went for the short walk. What we did forget to do was write down the number required for the mystery, guess we will be returning another day. SL TFTC

Found as we spend a lovely day exploring the area, we had to wait for a couple of muggles to leave on their hike, so we spend some time investigating the area, when it was all clear we began the hunt, the youngest member of our team made the find, log was signed and replaced as found, the lid in broken though but it all seems dry at the moment. Thanks for bringing us here and for the fun.

18-Mar-17
We were in the area to take a look at the Eureka Car Rally and detoured to collect this out of the way cache. The lid of the cache is cracked and looks to have been that way for some time. Everything is dry and in good order though. Thanks for placing McAdies.

Out and about this morning with master 5 to do maintenance on the BSRT so we grabbed a few other caches too! What a fab little spot! Really amazing to see what places you come across whilst geocaching- history galore here. It was a nice quick find and then we headed home. We went in circles though as sometimes "roads" on my GPS are not really roads! Lol. Many thanks Smile

19-Feb-16
Really interesting spot, never knew this existed so thanks for the motivation to come here! Mrs Jabl bravely retrieved the cache even though she hates creepy crawlies so it gave her the hebbie jeebies to do so!

Took nothing, left a Disney movie card/sticker.
TFTC.

Doing a spot of caching in this general area with The Tritonz after a failed first 2 find attempt nearby. Lucky I was with them as I'm sure my car would have been next to useless this time of year [xx(]

This is an awesome spot, will have to come back when I have more time.

Thanks for the cache it was in good condition.

Caching in the area with Wozzle68 today after getting pipped at the post for a FTF nearby. We worked our way through the bushland , luckily in a 4x4, towards Boden water Race in the misty rain to be surprised by this lovely area.

What a little gem of an area tucked away here. Loved the info board, a lot of interesting reading here. I want to return at night to see if I can spot the glowing fungi !! If I had more time today I would have participated in the walk. What an interesting cache container. Reading the notes at home I see I was supposed to obtain a number from the lid............. First for the day.

06-Jun-14
Suscoe has had this cache on the list for far too long and so today was the chance to finally find this one.
Arrived at GZ after a foggy drive. A few wallabies kept us company along the track for a while.
The cache was finally located after a bit of GPS circle work.
Log signed and on our way.
What a hard life those folks must have had back then.
Thanks to the McAdies for placing this cache in this historic area.

While the wife was spending time with her mother for Mother's Day I decided to get away from the inlaws for a while a grab a few caches in the time I had.

A short drive from their house soon had me behind Ross Creek and then the GPSr directed me to this spot.

Another relic of a day when mining was the number 1 game in town.

Anyhow I had this beautiful area to myself this afternoon. I had a poke around and then moved in for the grab.

Another cache in great condition.

This was one we had marked to find.
Thanks for placing this cache McAdies

09-Mar-14
Glad to hear this survived the fire.

05-Mar-14
Even though this cache was temporarily unavailable, we had started the West Ballarat Mystery Cache during a visit last year and were looking forward to completing the data collection and final cache today. We went to the location and there was certainly evidence of a burnoff having taken place. Our GPS units were somewhat erratic and took time to settle. After about 15 minutes of hunting, the cache was located in good condition. It had survived the fire very well. Thanks McAdies for the cache - another step closer to the final cache.

16-Feb-14
This should be good to go again as long as it didn't get burnt. Will see if we can get out in a few weeks now the heat has gone.

15-Feb-14
Could we please have an update on this cache. We will be visiting the area early March and had this cache as a possible target.

20-Dec-13
Thanks MrIwik for letting us know a burn off had been done here.
We will keep a look out for when the area is deemed safe.

20-Dec-13
A fuel reduction burn has been carried out in this direct area. Might be an idea to temporarily disable this cache until the area is made safe and you can go check on it.

25-Aug-13
Nice bike ride to get there

With the promise of a rain free day we took the opportunity to visit this area of the State for which our map shows a plethora of unopened treasure boxes.
We know all about water races as we utilized one at a location where we used to live. We also have a cache placed next to a water race that outlines their importance to rural communities.
Love the container used here - where do you get them?
Satellites today had our GZ 10m south east of where we found the cache located.

TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt McAdies.

Nice easy find on the way back from a picnic at the Jubilee Gold Mine with the family. I think its getting a bit sad when I can tell who placed a cache just by looking at it in the field. When I did find it, I thought, looks like one of McAdies caches. When I looked closely at the GPS my suspicions were correct. Thanks for bringing me here McAdies.

29-Jan-13
A nice little detour to view the race Smile
A cache was all the incentive I needed Big Grin
