When haldane says climb a fence, I guess he/she is inflating the experience of stepping over a ½ metre high piece of wire. However the message is still the same, that whoever is managing the park would like people to stay on the track and behind the fence line. The short fence has plates every now and then asking people to keep to the track to preserve the flora/fauna.
All the same I crossed the fence line (like people have been doing for years to find this cache) and it was still there exposed and undisturbed.
All the same I crossed the fence line (like people have been doing for years to find this cache) and it was still there exposed and undisturbed.
I'll have to take this off line so I can re-hide it. I've not been up here for a while so I don't know whats going on with these fences.
Enjoyed my walk up the hill despite a cold wind. As others have said, it is worth it for the views. I followed the path but found I actually had to "climb" a fence to get to GZ. I think more fences have been put in place since the cache was placed. I felt a bit guilty going into a conservation area that has keep out signs everywhere..........
Tough climb up here but worth it for the views. Found cache very quickly, signed log. TFTC.
What a great spot. What a great cache. I'd have dryer feet if I stuck them in a bucket of water though!
I hate it when you go bush cross country only to find the track you left waiting for you at the other end !!
Nice spot, recent fire here by the looks of it, lucky cache is safely tucked away.
you can see 2 other cache sites from here on the opposing hill side.

07/09/2011 00:00 Wow it's amazing here at night. The city is just all lights. It was a cold walk but as expected, climbing the hill warmed me up. I had forgotten my beanie which didn't help. I used the hint and found the cache pretty quickly. It seems that some kids also found it (not sure how) as they had signed it and returned it to its hiding spot. TFTC LEAD SCOUT TNLN SL
Found by Team Ladava around 2.30 on one of those clear winters day where you could almost see to Tasmania. Certainly Portsea and a fantastic panorama of the city and the ever expanding suburbia.
The climb up certainly had the heart rate up but the view was worth it.
Locations like this are 'the icing on the cake' of Geocaching with the locals hosting us anonymously to their favourite spots.

Our thanks to LEAD SCOUT for the cache and bringing us to this location.

*Overall Experience: 4*
Cache condition – fine but very lacking in swaps for the kids.
Unfortunately I didn’t have an with me and I was not going to repeat the climb.

Couldn't imagine a spot which fit the description of the hint, but after some wanderings to bad gps signals, there was such a spot. Will move the little snowman a couple hundred kms away in a couple days. Tftc!

Found with IITom23II and TheDealer, should have followed the path instead of going through the bush, nice view. TNLNSL TFTC
Found with TrynaFindaCache and TheDealer. out on a small caching run testing out my new car thought we would do the "smart" thing and walk straight up the hill, we shortly realised the path would have been a far more appropriate track. the view was amazing. TNLN TFTC
Wow what a climb up the hill. Wow what a view as well.
I started looking at the wrong tree near GZ as my GPS was playing up at the time.
After a short while, it clicked and I found it pretty straight away.

Found at 3.55pm on an afternoons caching with Xambo4u. Had completed the other caches in this park a while ago and were keen to complete this one as well but had waited for a good day to climb such a hill. Great to see a good size cache at the end of it. TNLN TFTC
Found on another mega day of caching with bogonghazy. I had dressed for winter today... already removed the jacket prior to the hike, but had to strip off hte top layer of shirt part way along as it was such a marvellous and sunny day.
Was pleased to see an ammo can, and loved its snug little hole. Wished I had bothered to bring my TB stash up the hill to pass some of them on.

Found on an unseasonably warm Winter's day's caching with Reesylou.
Great spot for a walk, and the view was terriffic too.
Quick find, signed the log, and enjoyed the walk back to the car.

A sunny afternoon in Winter had me hustling the family out the door for a bit of a hill climb and a chance at a cache.
The walk up was a revelation as I'd no idea the amount of development that had gone on here. I've often wondered where all the people came from to fill the nearby shopping centers.... now I know!
Once at the top we had the place to ourselves and spotted about 10 roos crossing the path and, after we returned the cache, a couple of Wedge-tailed Eagles soared past. Magnificent!
Took: Marble. Left: Pink tag and TB.
Cheers Lead Scout, thanks for a great afternoon.

This was the first stop on an afternoon of caching with Thetaz. The walk was what we needed to clear our heads but the sound of a trail bike buzzing around the hill disturbed the peace. The cache was found at 2:45pm sort of where it was expected. TNLN. Thanks LS
First find on a happy afternoon's caching with LinearZZ. Lovely view from the top on a very clear day.

Found at Parked roadside and pretty much ran up the hill to GZ. Some great views here and the terrain was pretty interesting as well.
Nice to see someone go to the effort of hiding an ammo can. Nice fit.
Thanks.

Found @ 17:40 with davroy. I think we both found the hardest part of this cache was the walk getting to it. This suburb seems to be growing daily. TFTC TNLNSL
With a quick find nearby under the belt, I thought I'd have a try for this one while I was in the area. I arrived at GZ, puffing and panting I might add , and found the cache at 13:30 in the second place I searched (but in the first place that I thought looked like a good spot for a hide (don't ask )). What great views from GZ .

This was my first hill climb since my stint in hospital and thankfully I made it ok, Alansee came up with the good on this one, the view from up here was great. Thanks Lead Scout for the cache.
Another nice walk on a lovely day. There were a group of conservation volunteers doing their thing at the bottom of the hill. A good hide spot thanks Lead Scout.
Find # 323 @ 12:00.
Plenty of re-development going on since I was last here. I parked some distance from the cache and walked through a vacant lot to give me access to the area behind the houses.
Nice view too. Enjoyed the climb. Easy find. TNLNSL TFTC

I last had views of this estate when I did Quasar's caches on the western hills a few years back.
I must say a few more houses have gone in since then.
I parked where suggested and enjoyed a bite to eat as I made the gentle climb up the road.
Saw a few rabbits and later some rabbit holes and eventually the really well concealed cache came to light.
Thanks Lead Scout

We found our 13th Lead Scout cache at 11:30am as the 10th of 23 on our Tour de Mernda with Pprass. This was our stand out cache of the day. An absolutely fantastic spot with great views. We arrived at the assigned parking spot to find the gate open thanks to a conservation group planting day on just up the hill a little {section of log removed due to Prass censorship laws} and finished off with a couple of group photos at the top. A really fantastic place. Thanks for the cache from D & H B-A.
Found at 11.30am GAFF1 in the company of Rabbitto. This was one of the highlights of the day's caching. On a still winters day, scenery was fantastic - we could see so much in detail for nearly 50kms. Thanks LEAD SCOUT for showing us this spot - took some great photos of the views.
Find # 2807 and 5th of the day at 10:56 am. Accompanied by Iain from the Swaggies.
Upon reachig as close as we could to GZ I was just turning the car around and the engine died and tried franticaly to start it without any luck so while we were waiting for the RACV to arrive went up the hill to log the find. TNLN, Signed Log , Thanx Lead Scout....

Fate dealt us a bit of a blow whilst getting to this cache, the mighty Paj decided enough was enough and she wanted a rest! No fuel, no gas, no go. Whilst we acted like mechanics for a while, we decided to cut our losses and call the RACV. Hmmm about an hour, oh well nothing for it but to leg up to GZ for a good find. Then back to the car for a bit of lunch whilst we waited. This isn't a bad area for cars, spotted a very nice Ferrari burbling past whilst we waited. Thanks Lead Scout.
Found by Mary & David at 1645. The empty blocks are filling fast with some impressive McMansions. Great views across to the CBD from GZ. The only animal life we saw though was a domestic cat on the prowl, complete with red collar. Collected 'DNF Duo - Super Cacher Geocoin'. Our thanks once more to Lead Scout.
After following the prescribed directions I made my way to GZ and was thankful for the great coordinates AND for placing an ammo can, they're all too rare around these parts. I paused to admire the views before heading off again. I disturbed the biggest (and strangely very black) hare I've ever seen on the way back down. There must be a joke in there somewhere.
Anyway, thanks for the walk and the views.

The light was starting to fade fast as I got to this one, so I pushed on up the hill and quickly headed to GZ, where the cache location was easily spotted. Some excellent views from from up here - and it always surprises me when I'm out west how it doesn't take much of a bump in a flat plain to really open up an extensive vista. The setting sun, on what had turned out to be a very pleasant afternoon weather-wise, really lent a nice touch to the whole picture too.
TNLN
Thanks once more Lead Scout

I enjoyed the quick walk up the hill and the lovely views from GZ. Had a bit of trouble locating the cache, althought once I found it, I don't know why I missed it at first. Thanks for the cache, and for the envigourating walk.
Took us a little longer than one would expect considering the size of the cache. Nicely tucked away really although I had one similar and the hide deteriated badly over a fairly short time. Hope that doesn't happen here. Nice walk up the hill and great views especially after dark which is was by now.
Don't tell Homer but I reckon some of your caches are the pick of this area. Thanks Lead Scout

It is quite a view, up here at night. We disturbed a few dogs near the houses, but they quietened down once we were out of sight.A short walk up the hill. but a bit of walking around in circles at GZ. Not because the co-ords were out, it was just us. [:))]
Thanks, Robmc.
Thanks, Robmc.

Tried to grab this one earlier, but the rain prevented the walk when we got to the car park.
After dinner, we headed off again and this time we were able to make the trek.
A great walk with some rabbits along the way.
Made the find to see that we were 2TF!
Enjoyed this cache and the fresh air so close to home. We reckon we could have seen the roof of our house if the sky was a bit clearer!

Wooo, took out the FTF for this one @ about 5pm. Saw it on the radar this morning and was itching to get out and find it but had to spend 3 hours on the phone to centrelink! So anyways after getting a bum steer from them was finally able to go out for the find. A great work for the cardio and a great opp to find some more fantastic caches in this area. Thanks Lead Scout!
