Found while attending the Mega event in Canberra over Easter. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Adelaide to Broken HillDay two. Broken Hill to WellingtonDay three. Wellington to CowraDay four. Cowra to BathurstDay five. Bathurst to CanberraDay six. Canberra to CanberraDay seven. Canberra to QueenbeeyanDay eight. Canberra to AdelaideThe generic bit.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Found during the Mega event in Canberra over the Easter long weekend. Our team comprised courtneyrose_, Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, Freddo, gridge98 and Team Waldron, signing the logs as ABP to save time and space in the logbooks , or with our individual caching names. We have arrived in Canberra for the Geobash. Before being able to set up at midday at Canberra Park, we are getting a few traditionals and the caches we selected for our time here. We were in this location after trying to get the Multi On The Road Again. Sadly our tree poke was too short. TFTC

It appears that I forgot to log this one? I swear I did. Ah well. A pretty quick find at GZ but the hint slightly threw me off. TFTC!

07-May-23
I had a little time between today's events and didn't want to go with some of the others for some of the newest caches. I came here instead.

Pretty cold today and dark clouds on the horizon. I hope the next event stays dry. Not many people around today. The neighbour's dog though is barking relentlessly.

Log wasn't too bad, but it's starting to get mouldy.

After a meeting nearby and needing a daily, it was good to drop by here for an easy find. Saw a couple of joggers and dog walkers but managed to retrieve and replace unnoticed. TFTC.

26-May-21
Gerriactive found this one but, as previous finders have logged, the cache was very wet and the log is unusable. We took all the wet stuff out of the container, placed it in a larger bag and left a new slip of paper in a smaller plastic bag. Thanks for the placement

26-May-21
As Silvereyes has said the contents were saturated and log unable to sign. We put in a new log in a new plastic bag. Very nice area up here behind the houses.

Log too wet. Couldn't sign

20-Mar-21
Log is very wet unable to sign

Found with Nibletricecakes. We weren't really sure which side of the reserve to tackle this one from. NRC picked the Lyons side, so we took it from there. It was an easy walk from that side. A nice one for my daily. TFTC.

I wasn’t sure whether google maps had led us to the right access point but we soon found the way up to the cache. Lots of people up here this afternoon enjoying the walking tracks. So GLISS! and I needed to be a little stealthy! A short search around and we had the cache in hand. Unfortunately it was full of water, but the log in it’s bag still managed to stay dry. Thanks for the cache.

I am currently visiting Canberra from Brisbane to spend the Christmas/New Year period with my relatives here.

This morning I headed out in the thick pall of smoke blanketing the city, to see how many caches I could find before the heat and haze drove me back inside.

After running the nearby Wherigo cartridge, the compass on my geocaching app refused to point in the direction of caches which made navigating to GZ rather more difficult. I managed to overcome this handicap and make my way to GZ where the cache was soon found. TFTC

25-Aug-19
We were out on the bike again on a sunny Sunday afternoon - unfortunately, it wasn't as warm a it looked, with a cold wind springing up immediately making my choice of wearing a t-shirt unwise.

We made our way up the hill to this one after locating Curtin Curiosities III: Secret Alleys, located the cache fairly quickly, signed the log and stopped to admire the views in lots of directions - then, back down the hill to Watch Sports 3 by Dragon 1982

Thanks for the Prize Cache Bezerker

29-Apr-18
Found on our walk around Curtin, the last for the day, as looking over to the southwest, beyond Oakey hill, the weather is definitely coming in... and it did too later with lightening, thunder and small hail, so I was very glad I retreated from this high ground. Good views and a nice cache hide. TFTC Bezerker

08-Apr-18
Found It!
Not a bad view from up here. Well done on the win!

04-Apr-18
I have tried to find this one previously and clearly been cache-blind. An evening walk w geopup as no work was going to happen anyway, between procrastination and a very bored pup that just wanted to play (So cute), turned out success under iPhone light. An amazing easy find. A lovely still star lit walk made better by having a new smiley. Tftc!

Tftc. Quick find with not many dog walkers around at this time.

23-Jan-18
Having been out and about hunting for caches for some time I was keen to find some lunch, but I decided I was too close to not find this cache first. Possibly my approach was not the easiest option as there was a barbed wire fence to negotiate, but I got there and made the find (without loss of blood I might add).
TFTC, Bezerker Smile

A morning stroll around Curtin while waiting for a car service. A nice opportunity to stroll around the suburb and for it to reveal its treasures and caches. TFTC.

I wanted to get the first cache of the month souvenir and was talking about with my family at lunch yesterday (the 1st, I am a bit late on logging this cache due to work (sadly I had to go back to work the day after New Year's Day)). We were trying to work out where I could get one on the way to the airport (for some context: my family is in Adelaide but I am working in Canberra over summer so after having Christmas at home, I had to return to Canberra). My sister, who is really not a fan of caching (she barely tolerates it), suggested that it might be cool to get two on the first. One in Adelaide and one in Canberra. This suggestion came after she had been looking through my stats on Project GC the other day (I had logged a cache in both Gaelic and English (it was at a Gaelic cemetery and we thought it would be cool to log it in both languages) and I had been saying that it would probably pull up my average log word count (It is currently on 98 and I really want to get it to 100)) and she had seen that maximum distance covered in a day was a category and currently only sat on 361km during one of my journeys from Adelaide to Geelong (a distance which is far more but when you factor in that we don't like to stop before Tailem Bend and most of the caches there are too far off the road to be worth a detour when we try to do the trip in one day) and by the time we get to about Stawell it is usually too dark to reasonably cache) so my sister thought that it would be good to set a new maximum distance and Adelaide to Canberra would do that well. Given that this was quite possibly one of the first times that she showed any interest in caching, who was I to deny her? I also knew where there was a cache really close to where I am living (this cache is within walking distance) so it was easy enough to do.
I knew that this cache was here as I had seen it on my app during a walk of the dogs a few weeks back but I didn't have a pen with me so I didn't try to find it but made a mental note to return.
It was a fairly easy find (once I remembered how to get there - there was a fence in the way that I couldn't remember being there but I soon found my way up to GZ)
TFTC.

Noodles22 asked me if i wanted to join him on a caching trip today, and my younger brother Jakeblast tagged along as well.
We managed to find 24 caches, after the long drive and in the heat I thought this was pretty good for us.
Thanks for all the caches.

30-Dec-17
I begged to join my brothers Noodles22, and Catapult07 on a geocaching day out this morning, and I finally got an account set up to log my finds (after many trips out with Noodles22).
It was a really long day out as we travelled from Sydney down to ACT (and back!) and I can now claim 24 caches to my name!
Thanks for all the caches.

30-Dec-17
Found on the 30/12/2017 at 4:46:00 PM.

In preparation of completing the year of caching, I had the idea of heading down to ACT for some dense caching grounds and some along the way, but I invited a couple of my geobrothers Catapult07 and Jakeblast along. But with the long drive down they were accompanied with their Ipads, and it was difficult to separate them from the devices when it was time to leave the car to find caches.
In the end we found 26 (half of what I was hoping for).
Thanks for all the caches

Thanks for the caches.

Caching around Canberra with Mr JD

Mr JD had already fou lnd this one so he let us fo ahead. All OK as it was soon in hand. Log book (old temporary sheet) was full so we added another.

Log signed and replaced at 11:51 am on 28 November 2017. TFTC, Bezerker

Quick walk around Curtin at lunch today. No muggles around (maybe too hot!) but still had a bit of trouble with it. Nice spot - never realised Curtin had this strip of nature Smile TFTC

After lazing away the afternoon at gold creek and leaving genghicat to look after the little one, I'm slowly making my way to the old place to do some renovating before selling. That really does feel like work though, so I'm getting there as slowly as possible. This cache proves a wonderful distraction.

This find took a while. Coordinates and hint were out. I was almost about to give up when I finally saw a glint of blue, and there it was. As with other logs it requires a log book but I managed to squeeze my name onto the cover in there. Tftc

A nice little walk on a pleasant day

25-Aug-17
Gorgeous area! Forgot how much I love this part of curtain. Thank you

15-Jul-17
I didn't have the best experience with this cache unfortunately

1. The coordinates were a bit off (for me at least) so spent a while searching in the dark/cold
2. The hint is misleading. The cache is 100% "under" a tree in my opinion....
3. There were 2 "containers" yet one was just a broken piece of plastic. with a tattered/dirty log the size of a post-it note
4. There was no log, and instead just a piece of rubbish people have signed
5. The piece of rubbish is now completely full of names and needs replacing anyway

Sorry to be such a downer but I think this cache needs a little bit of work and maybe a solid logbook and a couple little trinkets to colour/spice it up.

Thanks anyway!

The last find of our first day of geocaching, the kids are hooked. TFTC!

Was out with Aquilus1 and DRT. It was getting dark, but had a torch and found a little ways off from GZ. Needs maintenance as the very temporary log is getting full. TFTC!!!

After a morning of grabbing caches around the Inner North, I messaged Aquilus1 & dty73 to see if they wanted to go out and grab a few caches. A plan was made and off we went.

After looking around for a little bit we made the obvious find. Thanks for bringing us up here.

TFTC

06-May-17
Was out with dty73 and Delta Response Team for a late afternoon of caching. By now it was quite dark and searching was made that bit more difficult with our lack of torches but after a good look around the general area it was soon found. Log inside cache looks like a temporary measure but is now also very full but was able to squeeze our names in a bit of a gap. Thanks for the cache Bezerker!

19-Apr-17
Just a log in the cache these days. Quite easy to find the cache in a likely location. TFTC!

Down in Canberra for the long weekend for a sporting event and also getting some geocaches as well. Was in the area so made a few stops along the way, including a very nice walk around Lake Burley Griffin. TFTH Wink

Once the rain eased off, I ventured out for a few finds. I found this one while walking back to the car after doing the nearby wherigo. TFTC.

I arrived early for the Monday evening Omnia walk which gave me time to seek out some geocaches in the Oakey Hill-Illoura horse paddocks area. This one was a straightforward find being close to the coordinates. Thank you Bezerker for installing and maintaining this cache.

4:05pm 18/12 - wasn't sure how to get to this one, so I tried parking on Daveport Street near the corner of Heyson and walked up the hill. Mostly successful, save the barbed wire fence in the way - though if you climb over the more sturdy steel post you'll be right.

Found both containers but only signed the log in the larger one.

#1204. Revisiting Canberra and am lucky enough to be nous-sitting in Curtin. Walking along the pleasant ridge, which seems to very popular among the dog people, horse riders, mountain bikers and just ordinary walkers. And geocachers! Found this small container on fairly good coordinates - and also another "container" of sorts. That one was obviously a throw-down, while the sistema container fitted the description. It also appears to be a replacement, but a functioning one - but the logstrip is a bit of an improvisation. Used my best pen to get the ink to stick. Left both containers well covered (as I found them) and then hurried off to the next cache.

Quick find. No prober log book. Bookmarker instead which is the shiny paper and hard to write on. TFTC.
