Got around to WP1 but got stumped. Might have been too reliant on Google Maps GPS idk
Might try again later but not a big spider fan

My previous visit ended up searching without luck at night. Today, walked to GZ and spotted the container straight away, idk, but spied the hide upon approach.
Thanks to the new CO for patience and I moved on the TB

A bit of a struggle street on every corner and turn, but couldn’t find the large ammo can at night
WP0 seems all too confusing. Down on my haunches, nothing to work with so left site. I have the MO number but tried a few things, idk
This cache is up for adoption! I've decided as this one is just way too far from home now, I can no longer look after it properly. I would be happy for someone to take it over, otherwise, I'll collect the container in the near future and lay Corp. Barnes to rest. Message me if you'd like to adopt this guy
I remember hearing something about geocaching more than 10 years ago. I remember seeing if there were any caches near where I lived and seeing Hero's Hill was nearby. However, it wasn't until the last few months that I actually took up geocaching.
This cache has been on my list for a while, having been the first one that I heard of and also the former Hero's Hill Ex-Serviceman's club holds sentimental value to me.
Having seen that the dog tags were being replaced, I messaged Zalgaraith to see if it was in working order. He offered to send me a photo of the dog tags in return for me checking that the final cache was still there.
I can say that it is and it's in great condition. I have left behind a travel bug to incentivise the next finder.

I've got a hold of the replacement parts are am making new dog tags for WP1. Hopefully in place soon. Cheers, Zal
OCW morty8888 today around Revesby and Milperra. Spent way to long looking for dog tags in trees at wp1; one hour with frazeydaze at Easter and a further hour today with morty8888. I'd be interested to know whether they are still around.
Next time I am down this way I will pop in and check. I'll bring along a replacement for WP1 just in case
A warm day for April but perfect for caching with Oldmorty. This being Oldmortys third visit, I was hoping my eyes may reveal the 2nd WP info. Unfortunately after a good 45 mins search we called it and left deflated. Contacted CO who said he can check if we are just blind to these conditions.
No luck here.
Figured out the coordinates at wp0 easily enough, but after 2 visits wp1 is still unfound.
I did find giant spiders feasting on those annoying cicadas at eye level though.

A great multi. First a bit of a puzzle. Then a short field puzzle. Fortunately, Sue saw the solution. Then off to the well placed WP1 and GZ. A FP
Took us around 2 weeks to figure out WP1 coordinates from WP0 hint. With helpful hints from Zalgoriath we figured it out last night and headed for WP1 today, found the clue and went straight to the cache with no issues. Looking back figuring out WP1 is more simple than it seems, my advice is to not over complicate it in your head!
After a bit of help from the owner, waypoint one in hand, after having a bit of a dyslexic moment, realised I was looking in the wrong spot. Once looking at the correct coordinates, had info for GZ in hand, a few minutes later CIH. TFTC what a great cache
Solved the clues just before Christmas, but didn't have time until now to check the final cache. Excellent puzzle, solved with the help of my new cache-buddy Tina. Glad I got this one before I flew back home to the UK! Trackable left, nothing taken. TFTC
I can finally add my name to the logbook on this one after giving up twice! A started it a couple of months ago, I deciphered the messages but I couldn’t find what I needed at the posted coordinates, so I gave up. A month later I came back and found what I needed but I couldn’t piece it together to get the next waypoint, even which a little push from the CO, I was still stuck, until today. I had some free time and I looked on my map and I decided to click back on this one and recheck my numbers, and all of a sudden it clicked. Off too the next waypoint where I soon spied what I needed, and then off to gz. I spotted it on approach, finally! I signed both the new logbook and the old one, it’s good to see the cache is still in pretty good nick too. Thanks for the adventure!
This was my first attempt at a mystery cache and I loved it. It took me a while to work what to do with the numbers, maths is not my strength. I quickly found the dog tags and was off to the final location. The gps wasn’t overly helpful and I nearly gave up after checking a few locations with no luck until I spotted one final location I could try. Success. TFTC, all is good inside this cache.
I’m never any good at puzzles (says me) so I often ignore they exist - even this one which provided the code (although I didn’t scroll down at first / until after I’d solved it myself - doh!)... we needed the clue associated with this one for the current mystery at the museum promo so it was time to give it a go. That go was given last weekend but I couldn’t work it out. We attended this morning and still couldn’t work it out then after some time standing in the sun something clicked and we had our first green light- although the iPhone said it wasn’t really walking distance, that was just the iPhone being stupid and putting the waypoint in the wrong spot.... We enjoyed our clamber through bushland we didn’t know existed before today and were wonderfully surprised at GZ with not only a decent sized cache but also a Sydney leaf-tailed gecko as cache guardian! Thanks Zal for adopting and keeping this one. I note it hasn’t been found since November last year - everything is fine with it.
I started this over a month ago and couldn't solve wpt1 in the field. I needed to power up the pc and this was much easier to decode on a large screen. I had had the coords for wpt2 but didn't get here until today. Luckily I found myself in a wonderful pocket of bushland and the information needed was spied in plain sight.
Off to GZ and not long after I spotted the nicely hidden cache. Nice and big.
I'm not great at puzzles as I find it too hard trying to decipher what is in the CO head but these field puzzles are pretty cool.

We started this one a long time ago when it was first published but never got around to finishing it off until today. After moving into the area recently this one became our closest unfound cache so it quickly worked it's way to the top of the to-do list! The place has certainly changed since our first visit. We enjoyed the short walk to the next waypoint and the info required was found after a short hunt. It was then off to GZ where we found the nice cache hidden away in a nice bushy location. TFTC!

I met up with Brewmaker today in search of this mystery cache. I had first looked at it last year and worked out part of the puzzle, but had never gotten around to completing it. So today was the day to try and put this mystery to rest.
After deciphering some of the information, we arrived near WP0 to find some more required numbers. Brewmaker realised what to do with it - and geochecker gave us the dog tag tick.
Then we headed off to WP1. Parked the car in the right spot and found the track that led there. Read the hint but there were many possibilities and the gps was bouncing around. After walking in circles for a bit I spotted the tag hanging there. Interpreted the numbers and then headed further along towards gz, dodging a beehive on the way.
Once again at gz the gps were bouncing around. We checked a few possible spots before I saw a nice big hide a few metres away. Headed down and saw the amo tin hiding there. Signed the log and replaced it all as found.
As I was driving out I noticed that all of the streets here have military references, named after battles that Australian's have fought in or famous Australian military personnel. Hero's Hill indeed.
Great to find this cache with over 8 months worth of unloved days. TFTC

After completing a multi yesterday, GDAU and I looked at this puzzle, scratching our heads a few times when working through the code. I had skimmed over it a long time ago, and then forgot about it. It was the only remaining cache in this area for me to find, so I was keen to knock it off.
After working out the code, we got a "NO" from the checker. Realising we had to find the cannon at WP0, we headed there and got the necessary numbers immediately. Then the penny dropped as to what to do next, and this time the checker told us to go in search of WP1.
At WP1, we looked at several options until GDAU spotted the hanging object. With new numbers, off we headed and although the compass was going around in circles under the trees, we soon found the ammo can and it was CIH!
A good sized cache, which certainly fits in with the puzzle theme. I liked the way this led us to a nice bush area in the middle of suburbia, and the clever way it all falls into place. Deserving of a FP from Brew. And another 9 months of unloved days to ad to my total. TFTC

Farewell Evince! New Geochecker will confirm WP1 and Final locations. Good luck!
The evince coordinate checker has gone. Could you please move it to a new one service?

In unfamiliar territory hunting down a TB. I'd decoded the info for WP0 a while ago but was missing the vital detail. Dropped by today to resolve this issue and then scratched my head as to how to put it all together. Turns out that the way I recorded my notes caused unnecessary confusion which luckily didn't take too long to rectify. With WP1 coords in hand (but unable to confirm due to broken checker), I headed off. A particular spot caught my interest here but nada. Another interesting spot over there and nada again. Looked around and spotted what I was seeking. Entered GZ coords into iPhone and followed the pointer. Explored a few potential spots before locating a bit further away. Enjoyed the puzzle and large container.

Not my usual hunting grounds but I was in the area today and had WP1 worked out and checked after getting the gun's number on a previous visit, years ago, before it went AWOL. At the confirmed WP1, the GPS picked one spot, then another, etc. If I'd put it away sooner, I'm sure I would have spotted the bleeding obvious immediately. On to the implied GZ and after a bit of searching over a largish area, I had Barnes's booty. Interesting how water has stayed out, but not ants. TftC Zal.
Easy find after a short bush trek from WP1. Loving the case! TFTC #teamscrubs
27/3/16. 8:31 AM. Cache #3685. Streak day #644.
Just this one in Revesby Heights today - about time I returned to finish what I started 5 weeks ago. Straight to WP1 and - while it took me about half a dozen trees to get my eyes on Cpl Barnes' clue, it was a bit quicker than I had been expecting after the last effort.
Off to the final without checking the 2nd Evince - the clue at WP1 seemed pretty obvious to me. The signal at the end sent me in circles for a bit, but I finally zeroed in on it, after spying a dash of colour. Opened up the can; contents still in good nick. I signed both logs as the old one's really not all that bad. Headed back alongside the backyards. TFTC - worth a fave point.

Work in progress. After two finds today, "I Get High" in Earlwood and "Plane Talk" somewhere quite south of Bankstown Aerodrome, I thought I'd come here and get at least a start on the puzzle (I'd done the morse earlier in the week).
Arrived at the 25 Pounder (interesting reading from past logs that this went missing at some point and had to be found at its present location!) and worked out the info that I needed. Off to the car for a quick calculation and Evince gave me the green light for WP1.
A short drive to WP1 and a little bit of a walk down to it. After about 10 minutes, I didn't see what I was expecting to see (not long enough to call it a DNF in my book); then I realised I needed to head for home, so the search will have to continue another time...

The original plan was dinner with friends in the Shire - with a bit of caching first. Unfortunately it was cancelled just as I was ready to go out the door.
So, that just means more time to cache!
Came this was anyway - looking to grab some quality hides and a cache placed this year. This ended up including a great trail in the bush.
Got everything I went for. HUZZAH!
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
What a great cache. I'd worked out the Morse Code a while ago but some bits didn't make a lot of sense. Knowing I was coming this way today, I revisited it and spotted my mistake.
Cue a short time later.
Parked near the hill and a quick check around provided the info I needed for the waypoint. Of course I stuffed it up so Evince locked me out for a bit. Got better cords and without waiting for it to reset, went for it.
Took a few minutes at my calculated spot before the iPhone settled and I was staring at the info for GZ.
Lots of cobwebs later I again had iPhone lag, but soon spotted a likely hide - so I checked it - CIH!
Of course!
Beautifully themed cache from start to finish has to get a favourite. Nice GZ too.

Wow. This had me stumped for a while. Finally got the info I needed but couldn't work out what to do with it. Then the penny dropped and I set out for a walk. Haven't been to Heros Hill for over 20 years. Too bad it closed down. Found lots of spider webs and prickly plants before laying eyes on WP1 and set off for GZ. Found and signed. Took TB and Coin and also left TB. Got lost retuning to car and broke both thongs. Oh well. Great cache, thanks.
Took a bit longer than needed as we spent time at WP1 looking for an ammo can rather than the somewhat smaller WP. Eventually Aries44 made the find and we proceeded on for a quick find at GZ.

To any finders of this cache, please leave the stuffed unicorn toy in the container, or, if you know me, pick it up so I can grab it off you. Its part of a travel bug, and the dogtag came off it - I have the tag so will try and arrange to put it back together.
Much appreciated.
Much appreciated.
Out caching with Mr and Mrs D this morning. We searched for a while until I stood there cogitating and directly in front of me I spotted something associated with Corporal Barnes. Then it was off to find his cache. Mr D spotted it and we were soon doing the duties. Dropped a geocoin and visited a TB and geocoin. TFTC Zalgariath.
I've changed the Morse Code and therefore the puzzle a little. The co-ords are the same, noting has moved and the evince should still work. Let me know if there are any problems you spot

My flying lesson was cancelled - they had sent the larger plane to Cowra and I was too tall for the planes that they had left - so I decided to drown my sorrows in caches on the way home. Actually, that's not quite true - I had decided to bag a few on the way home anyway .
It's a bit cheeky to bag a disabled cache but Zalgariath had told us where WP0 now is, and it's pretty easy to spot from a distance. If you go to (roughly) S33° 58.169, E151° 01.317, you'll certainly be able to see it. The clue is definitely visible in the new location. I see no reason not to re-enable this cache immediately!
WP1 and the cache are definitely also in position, and are nicely themed. For reasons unclear, I managed to win 2nd prize in a beauty contest, as rm1978's envelope from 2012 was still in the cache, as were the two logbooks! (I signed both)
Thanks, Zalgariath!

Thanks to some community help I believe I have a lead on the location of the gun. The memorial was moved to a new park not too far away, Cox's Reserve. I'll confirm the new co-ords and ensure the clue is still visible.

Hmmm... was looking forward to nutting this one out, but expected the tough part was to be how to use the number. Problem was... I could not find the number, other than the year of manufacture! Stumped on what to do next or where to look!!
Found it with Volplaner, took a while, thanks for the heads up on the MO Number we would have been lost otherwise. Was not sure which log to sign so signed 2 of the 3. TNLNSL TFTC.
This cache has caused a lot of heartache for others and even after some help from the adoptive CO, it still proves to be a head scratcher. The code is also cryptic and takes some thinking.
After some help in working out WP1 I headed off and searched for the next clue. It was found in a few minutes. I then headed off to find the cache. At first I was walking in circles, but eventually I ended up at a nearby location where a hint of ammo can was visible. The can is in decent condition, but the small amount of contents are water damaged.
Hopefully, Zal will tweak the description soon and this cache will get more visitors.

Well done Spindoc on grabbing this long unloved cache. I will still try to get out to visit it soon but I have updated the listing a little to make it easier to know what to do after you cracked the Morse Code. Good luck!

Wow, what an awesome cache. My first puzzle cache. It hadn't been found for almost a year, its in my 'hood... and I got it first go.
Not.
This took a few goes, however, this made it more rewarding. There were a few red herrings to deal with, and also many spider webs and mozzies!
It was a bit disheartening to see the ruined cache.
I emptied the water, left a new bag, pencil and notebook page and took a rand coin and left a truck. I moved the cache to a slightly different location (<5m away). My apologies if this is not the correct procedure.
I am happy to return and remove the cache to clean, dry and restock if required. Owner, Zalgariath, please let me know. If I don’t hear from you this week, I will go ahead and do this.

:'( Thanks Rml... sad to see it had been Muggled but glad the Ammo Box wasnt taken, it is the most expensive bit. Shame though as it had a lot of expensive swag in it too, torch, compass, GCA stickers :'(
I am in Ireland until June so if you could give it some TLC, dry it out, and replace the log book that would be awesome. I'll come check it out when I get home. It is only found once or twice a year so this should be fine
Thanks heaps for the report, and the help. I wont disable it as the box is still there to be found. Let me know how you go.
This will also save my maintainer Steptoe the trip out

I nearly forgot to log these caches. Up in Sydney once again and just enough time to grab a few caches along the way.
This had been a cache in progress for some time now. Today i was finally able to close the book on it.
Found a well stocked cache but had no swaps with me. Thanks

Some time ago I had worked out the code and visited the structure to get more details. It must have been up to 6 months ago or it seems that way. I had to have a couple of bites of the cherry though due to mulitple numbers but eventually got there.
Today after a Christmas party I was in the area and thought I would try and finish off. I couldn't even find my paperwork but did have WP1 co-ords so off I went. After a little search the nice final piece of information was spotted and off I went.
A few mozzies around here! The GPSr had me all over the place with about 40m to go but I ended up following the metres to go rather than the compass needle and that got me there in the end.
A nice cache. Thanks!

Zaukau has replaced the Waypoint and the Cache! There may be a problem with the MO Number... apparently the gun has been repainted. If you struggle let me know..I'll check it asap but I think it should be fine!
Thanks to some timely advice from Team Canary we learnt the council are about to Back-burn the areas around the WP and the Cache. As such both both been removed to safety for the moment. Burn is scheduled for this weekend weather permitting, so hopefully Zaukau or myself will be put the pieces will be back in place in about 1-2 weeks. Nothing stopping you visiting the start point, getting you number and cracking the Morse code, but you wont be able to move on to the Way Point or the cache until they are replaced
After returning to look for the number again on Saturday, I spent Sunday trying to figure if I had the right number!?!
After a hand from the previous owner I had the right number, and soon afterwards a lightbulb moment when I figure out how to Use them!?!
Today I went back and found the cache.
TFTC.

well, this has been a challenge to get, although mainly mentally.
In hindsight, it should have been SIMPLE to work out, as the (morse) clue said to USE the number, but it took me way to long to suddenly realise how to use it. The way the other clues were written should have given that away, but didn't.
A chat around the campfire with RAGS at the Oz-Mega event in Wagga did not gain any direct answers as such, but after I got home I sort of worked out a possible understanding of it all from the discussion, and finally sat down to try it out last night, then suddenly I KNEW I had the right answer, but had to wait several agonising minutes for evince to reset from the previous failed attempt.
Too late to head off into what I knew was bush at night, so we waited for this morning, and were rewarded with a nice wander thru to a great little spot I had not been to before, & a large well-stocked cache to boot.
The use of the info at WP1 was probably only pretty obvious because of the way I read it out to my wife to write down.
Thanks Zaukau for the challenge.
Took a way to find out direction (compass),
left a way to find out the time (new wristwatch, which just needs a new AG4 battery)
To others contemplating attempting this - it is relatively simple, once you work it out.

What a cache! I had a reasonable struggle with the first leg of this cache and after emailing the owner for a little bit of help, ended up with more questions than answers.
So back to the drawing board! Fortunately I only had to go back to the WP0 twice, the second time I took heaps of photo's so as if I was wrong I may still have the info I seek in another photo.
This turned out to be the case, but even once I had the right info it was no use to me without a way to use it, I have poored myself into this puzzle for the past week or more and eventually came up with a plausible way to use it.
At last after soooo many failures I finally received the green light for WP1. Wasting no time I returned and made my way to WP1 and before long had the required info I sought.
Off to GZ and what else to expect from a cache such as this, but a bit of a walk, not hard by any means, but in theme with the rest of the cache so far.....(without saying too much)
.......And a beaut way to finish off the mystery Thanks for bringing me here Zaukau very well done, I believe the Terrain stars are spot on but I've done quite a few puzzles and this rates as all but the hardest I've ever done, I'd say a difficulty of minimum 4 stars would be closer to the mark. A CLASSIC MUST DO CACHE - hard to believe it's not long been published it reminds me of a few that are now long gone, Thanks again Zaukau keep them coming
Oh! Took the bug

Thanks for making the effort to do your homework and scout the area - congrats on the find. Hold that thought, I see a another cache coming on...
...and finally I've added a definitions section as it seems WP1 is commonly thought of as the starting point. In this case it's not, it's WP0.
Encrypted hint seems to have an error - should va be vs?
Applied morse decodes 2 & 3 to S33 57.??? E151 01.?3? then tried to check on evince - but was advised it was wrong for both WP options.
How are the the answers obtained for item 1 & 4 to be used?

Wow! What an epic adventure. Although hopefully for future finders it wont be as epic
Day 1: I saw this one published late one night a few days ago and early the next morning headed off to give chase. After FTF'ing 'Battle of Revesby' I took on 'Hero's Hill'. That day I made an error by not factoring in Morse Code Clue 1 and endned up doing a pleasent but futile bushwalk in the wrong direction.
Day 2: After a bit of head scratching I worked out where I had gone wrong and started again. This time I managed to get the wrong numbers and couldnt come up with a reasonable set of Co-Ords. Had a chat to Zaukau who after some talk altered the morse a little to make it clearer what to look for.
Day 3: Australia Day. Right. Found the correct numbers and soon had a few possibilities for GZ. Another bush walk lead me to a dead end. And investigating the other possibility sent me to some mates backyard a few suburbs away. Grrr! What was worse was this DNF ended my 37 days straight with a find as it was Oz Day and I had plans which excluded caching . Was a bit sad about that.
Day 4: Another long chat with Zaukau and he suggesed I might have missed something but had in fact gone to the right spot for WP1 - So back it was again with the same result of not being able to locate the WP even though Evince had told me I had the right co-ords. When I got home I had a new email... OH BUGGER! That's why I've been striking out With some overly generous compensation and apologies from Zaukau I KNEW I was on the right path this time.. it all made sense now! Back AGAIN to the Revesby area that arvo and WP1 was finally snared, though the hunt took about 15 minutes. New co-ords worked out and away I half ran with a song in my heart that this ordeal may soon be over. Got to GZ and after 15 minutes of walking in circles, time running out as I had to meet someone soon, and a huge storm about to hit I rang Zaukau to ensure I hadnt made an error. I hadnt, just the storm and clouds were playing havock with the GPSr. Zau was going to to visit to lend an assist but a minute later there it was! The best stocked cache Ive ever seen. This thing is truely awesome. Bring quality swaps as there is HEAPS of fantastic stuff in it. And its a great size! I cherished my FTF prize which has been well earned and left a brand new Trackable for the next person. It's Rtt-Zaukau Junior, thanks to both the tag and Koala being presents from other cachers Signed the Log and got it all hidden again before things got too wet.
It's Over! YAY! Fantastic Cache now the bugs are all out. Properly done, should take only 30 min to 1 hour depending on how good your geosense is. Thanks Zau, it's been a most memorable FTF that's for sure!

Activating and Passing through the FTF trackable - Thanks again and great work on the effort put in these mystery caches
I've removed the previous DNF log entries ¬es because of teething problems with the cache details. "The Hancock Clan" & "Usat31" attempted it, with no success obviously - no fault of their own. Zalgariath with the dogged determination of a trooper battled on until he made it to glory. CONGRATULATIONS!
You still got me going on this one Zaukau! I redid the new morse code and found 2 number which could be of use so I investigated both. One set had me at a residential house, the other was more promising near my original walk GZ, however when I got there it planted me more then fairly in the Georges River . So still no find one this one... someone has to crack it soon surely!

Had to make a few changes to cache details, so if you have download/printed the info please review morse code & hints etc. Apologies & Tx for playing!
After success at "The Battle of Revesby" FTF'ing I was looking forward to a bit of a bush walk and hopefully a second FTF for the day! The walk didn't dissapoint. I found the access easy enough and was sure I was on the right path. When I got to GZ after about 10 minutes or so I thought 'yep' top spot, very deserving of a cache. However this is where the fun ended. I spent over 30 minutes trying to located a cache, waypoint, anything to further the cause and came up with ducks eggs I used clue 2 and 3 to find GZ but will admit I didnt see the relevance of Clue 1 and 4... I thought they would have something to do the next step after finding the cache/waypoint at GZ. It really is a great spot, so I'd be surprised if my Morse code reading was wrong... just couldnt find it today Good luck to the next person! I'll be back once I've thought about it a bit more.

Tx for having a crack at this. When I read your comments I doubled-checked the morse, which I thought I'd made a mistake on. You need to figure out what message [1] means because the other mesages relate to it. Once you have message [2 & 3] figured out in relation to message [1], then find item in message [4] and figure out how that relates to locating the cache.
Oh well, no joy for us either. We tried the quick way to start with and went to the co-ords we'd worked out from the morse code first of all but couldn't find anything. We then wondered if 58 should have been 57 in the southings and tried that, which was also a likely spot but to no avail. And then, we decided to head to the cache coords and look for the required info as by now we reckoned we needed more information. There were dozens of numbers all over the place but couldn't spot the right one, or any in fact long enough to make sense with the other stuff we'd worked out (if we were on the right track that is).
Interesting location though.

Mr Us tagged along with The Hancock Clan today & between us, we couldn't work out what we needed or how to apply it.
Maybe with the extra bit of info we might be able to nut it out now.
The hunt took me places I haven't been before, so all was not lost.
We will be back!
Cheers
