Found it! This was one of the first caches I solved when I got back into caching and it's taken me a while to get down to this area. Lovely day for it. Little bit of happiness before heading to far less fun medical appointment.
#3805 I am on my geocaching holiday in New Zealand. Today is my day 3, and I walked around Wellington and found some geocaching here.Found it! Coordinates were about 5m off. My geosense led me to the GZ. huhugrub, thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on October 3, 2024 @ 21:39:59[GC1PDNN] Denpo Dahdis (Wellington) was a D2.5/T1.0 Micro Mystery Cache at the time of finding.
Puzzle solved! I'm going to Wellington next week, and hopefully, I'll get this one.
I'd solved this one yesterday only to realise that there'd be a fair degree of dj vu about a journey to GZ. Nevertheless, I could think of worse things to do so I mosied on over to its location and once there, the cache was a quick find at 16:40.TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks huhugrub.
Can't say I've yet made sense of the cache title, but solved the puzzle in reasonably quick time many moons ago. Not a soul about in the wind and rain tonight for a stealthy, thankfully also quick, find and sign.
Solved some time ago, made a quick grab today. Quiet on the waterfront, but i made this find after the rain calmed down.
Fun one to add to my own personal series of 'things to do at lunchtime in the city'. TFTC!
Our first whole day in Wellington. Sunny day, nice caches. Greetings from Finland Thank you for this cache, I copied your idea and made a cache like this in Finland.
We (raija485 and I) have few days to search geocaches and explore the city at the same time. As for the weather, it's really nice to be here and move around (as long it's not raining). Thanks for the cache and greetings from Finland!
I had come to Wellington for a day to qualify for a Challenge cache and was out and about the Waterfront with agcnz to find at least one cache but if others get in the way I won't complain.I had solved this ages ago but this is the first time I have had the opportunity to be here.Cheers for the cache, huhugrub.
The key to this was quickly solved.I could not think of it any other way, to be honest. Eiffel 65's, Blue song came to mind because reciting the di, dits and dahs started turning into da ba dee's and da be dyes in my brain lolParked in the convenient carpark and made my way to GZ for the second time. My first attempt pointed me down to the lower floor, but there was maintenance going on there, and it was gated shut.Gutted! So I thought I'd let the CO know. A bit later, the CO responded and said it wasn't acrually down there.Oh. But by then, I had already left. While my phone still pointed down below today, I knew I need not go down there (it's still gated off anyway) and stayed above and focused there while keeping adjacent to the coordinate on the map.Along with the hint, I figured this one thing must be the hide and indeed it was. Nice one.The cache and log are in excellent condition. Cheers, huhugrub.dididit didahdidit dit dit didahdahdit dahdidahdah didahdah didah dididit didididit dit didahdit dit!
# #7,142 #----------This is one puzzle I had looked at before coming out here. A nudge from my new caching friends had pointed me in the right direction. All good once at GZ. Last one for the day now before heading to Rotorua tomorrow. TFTC!!! ----------> All geocaches are signed as mmmPIZZA or mPZ
As it was raining finding the fish didnt take too long. I did doublecheck my answer though as it seems too close to a traditional. Massive gusts of wind this afternoon. TFTC
Really enjoyed solving this puzzle, and this beautiful evening happy to find it pretty quickly once I went back to the checker to see what Id missed. Thanks for a fun puzzle!
Initially went too low. Saturday morning on a windy day is not a bad time cache on the waterfront. Thanks for the puzzle and cache, huhugrub.#10093
We found this cache in Wellington at Port #4 of our New Zealand Cruise Tour. This was one of the caches that we spent a little time solving before we headed off on our trip. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Day two of our holiday in Wellington. We presolved this cache and had a long search. We couldnt find anything matching the hint item. We decided to re enter the coordinates into the checker and came up with a different hint. We soon had our hands on the cache. TFTC
Well I guess if I was going to stay in Wellington a few days and cache up a storm, I had to solve at least one or two of the many hard looking puzzles set about town.
This one I found on one of my many walks around the area. Nice spot. I watched some interesting antics going on nearby, all the muggles none the wiser to my actions.
Thanks huhugrub for creating a puzzle I could actually solve in my time here.

Totally riding on Kimmy+co's coat tails here, just happened to be off on another Multi, but the GZ was too far away from where we landed so stopped here to cure Kim's caching calendar needs
Found tucked away safely, a nice day today so this was quite a good location to visit and enjoy.
Although I've heard much about Wellington I hadn't till now had the opportunity to visit, so it was great that I was able to come on a four day caching trip and experience it myself. An added bonus was that I would have the opportunity to go to GC46, my last of the NZ 2000 caches I needed to find... yes, needed!
Having the company of GreyHams was definitely a big plus (as always!), not only does he plan these trips, drive and navigate, this trip he was also my tour guide! Lots of pointing out the highlights, and the many things I had heard about I could finally see and experience for myself.
Have to say I was impressed with what awaited and just loved my visit with all it had to offer, such a scenic and interesting location. We were lucky that the day we arrived there was an event we could attend. It was great to meet the local cachers and share stories of caching adventures both local and abroad over dinner.
We worked around the weather a bit as it was forecast for rain, it did but usually only when driving or overnight so that was nice! Day 2 saw us driving out to lower and upper Hutt, and the Hutt River featured greatly along our travels! Staying close to the car as it rained worked nicely and GC46 was ticked of early... I understand it can be windy but it was often calm so I'm not sure if I missed out or got lucky!
So impressed by the greenery, the hills with perched houses and the spectacular harbor views. A walk out along the red rocks track to 'Devils Gate' was a highlight, we saw a seal and finally I saw my first ever bumblebees! Honorable mention to our car that wasn't where we left it overnight... bit of a concern until we found out it was just moved up the road a little!
Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that help guide us around, we had a select list of caches for the short time we had, so if your cache made our list it had a quality we were needing, thank you!

Had solved this puzzle awhile ago and were in town today and happened to walk past this one so had to get.
Thanks for the puzzle cache.

Our North Island Roadtrip from Whangarei to complete Tahi & Rua of the NZ Geotour - Day Six.
We have one full day in Wellington for collecting a few puzzles and special caches with Lis's crew. We found a coupon park close to downtown and walked in & around the city to collect some caches before going out into the suburbs. Quick find at GZ. Thanks for the puzzle and TFGC.

With the Geotour coming to and end soon Yvettetb and I decided to go on a road trip to collect Tahi and Rua. Of course I had some puzzles at various places to collect and a few special types were added to the list too.
We stayed with my friend in Wellington last night. Todays plan was to collect puzzles and a few special caches around Wellington. We found a park in a coupon zone not too far away. We took advantage of the free 2 hours to walk around and collect the city centre caches from my list. I solved this puzzzle in August 2018 so it's certainly taken me a while to find it. Glad we found it easily. A different puzzle too thanks

Found it! A simple enough puzzle, especially with online helpers, and a quick and easy find as I mooched towards the airport bus stop. TFTC!
In Wellington for the weekend. Solved several puzzles ages ago and now the time to find them. Enjoyed a walk into town and collected this on the way. Thanks for replacing and for the smiley.
Found with qwertz. Fairly easy puzzle and quick find once we had the right spot
Recognised the puzzle straight away, it reminded me of my dad, then my daughter had some great ideas to help with the solution. Quick find once solved, and pretty easy to grab even in a high muggle area. TFTC
Solved a wee while ago and thought we'd come out tonight just to get one. At least GZ was pretty deserted in this rain ... and there was somewhere dry and sheltered to sign the log (which is in fab condition). TFTC
Up in Wellington for s few days and a bit of a look around before heading for home .
After I was in the area over the last few days it was well I think it's there but to many people , muggles and we'll eyes so this morning was just perfect a very early morning start and as I walk by at 5 am the area is all quiet and a quick find and with paperwork done placed back to its hiding spot before continuing my walk
I have had this on my solved list for a while so today I singed it off .
Nice puzzle and hide thanks
Getting out and about in to the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching.
Life is short. Live one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!!

Having just returned from spending the day on Somes Island, LL113, Itchyfeet2020, the Seagnoid and I were wondering what to do next? I suggested that we could always go back and take another look for this cache which had been a DNF for several of us 4 weeks ago, but since then the CO had done a maintenance run. Reciting the Cachers Credo "there's always time for one more" we set off for a stroll along the waterfront.
Arriving at GZ, it did not take long to spot the replaced cache, and we were able to sort out the signing of the log before deciding to treat ourselves to an ice cream or similar from nearby.
Thanks for creating, and maintaining this cache

Having returned from Somes Island, TwigNZ, The Seagnoid, Ll113 and I were just not ready to go home - "just one more" is how we found ourselves heading along the gorgeous wellie waterfront to come and claim this one. Thank you for replacing so quickly.
A little bit limited for caching time today, since I had an exam for uni in the middle of the day, but still managed a nice walk this morning to pick up a few caches - and then an even nicer walk for one more afterwards.
This was the first one I found today and a puzzle I solved back on 05/09/21. No issues figuring it out although I'm still not sure what the title means. Super quick find at GZ and in perfect condition - big thanks for the recent maintenance huhugrub, and thanks for the cache and puzzle too!

I'd only solved this puzzle recently having only "discovered" it just prior to that. I see it was recently missing and normally Murphy's Law would dictate that's when I would try to find it. But with recent maintenance (maybe that's was triggered the look at the cache) it was highly likely to be present. The weather was cold and squally which meant nobody around today so I went to the likely place and found the cache straight away. A rare smiley in the city for me. TFTC.
After visiting GZ during the weekend I was pleased to see the CO had replaced the cache. So today after the 1st to find after the expedition I decided I would come into the city and find it. The cache was easily found without an muggles around (maybe it is too cold for them). A good puzzle to solve. Thanks for the replacement cache Huhugrub.
12 eyes could not find this cache tonight. 4 eyes have been here previously and knew where to look and eventually helped us look. Still no luck . Could the CO check GZ please? TIA.
We have hunted for this without success a couple of years ago, and came for another look this morning. Unfortunately we had the same result. We see know that it was missing, so maybe we are not totally cache blind.
Have had a successful time in central Wellington today. Mrs Rubbishparty had a rest this afternoon and solved a few puzzles
(that’s her idea of resting). Realised GZ was close but sadly no joy w when we got there. Well always good to leave a few for our next visit.

Enjoyed solving the puzzle a good few months ago. I was in the area today so took the opportunity to find the cache quite quickly. Gorgeous day in Wellington.
Great puzzle! Out tongues were turning to rubber working through this one!
Quick find.
Thanks!

Came into Wellington to watch the fireworks display (always impressive) and we spent a few fun hours in town beforehand scootering around the waterfront and visiting a few different parks. Youngest son made quick work of locating this cache. After finding the cache we continued on our way and were surprised to see a person dressed up as a Christmas tree (with lights!) playing a musical instrument, it was really funny and unexpected. Thanks for the fun puzzle and TFTC
A big touristy day in Wellington - Van Gogh, Te Papa - and of course a few caches. A bit worried that I'd got the wrong co-ordinates for this one but got there in the end. TFTC.
Today is a puzzle cache dot day. And I am working a streak. And I am also trying to get my micro caches up to two per calendar date, and today is one of the only two 1-days left. So... a micro puzzle cache! there must be a few in this urban environment, right? Of course there are. So I head off after work to get one in Petone, near where I work. Oh. No pen. Bugger. so... I may as well cycle home, get a pen then head back out - I have two near home in Island Bay that i especially reserved.
So I am cycling home, enjoying it as always, despite that it is a bit too warm and I am sweating heaps. I get to the water front (I take the waterfront route to the basin to avoid the narrow streets of Jevois Quay) and I suddenly realise - there is a lot of shops here! maybe I can borrow one? So I head for this cache. Hey look - a shop right here - ooo! And an interesting shop too! I park the bike, find this cache, then head into the shop to peruse their wares. Yes! That one please! And look a pen just lying there. I sign the log, head back outside, dodging all the runners - yes - there are runners. Who the heck runs when its 25 degrees?? Returned the cache and marvelled at the value of my purchase. Alas it did not last long. Well worth the cost though, I may be back here for more....
Many thanks for the cache Solving was nice and easy - haven't yet worked out what Denpo is - seems to refer to rather a lot of things, none of which relate to this puzzle or location.
Just one more micro date to go, in less than a week (yay!!), about 80 puzzle dot days left (sigh) and 250 odd streak days. That one is going to be a while!

Away with family in Wellington for the weekend. Solved this one in the early hours of the morning as our micro cacher had an unsettled nights sleep. Headed out early before our flight to Queenstown later in the day to pick this up, not far from where we were staying. A nice quick find at GZ, having walked past this several times over the previous days. A lovely spot and very pleasant before the wind picked up later in the day. TFTPC!
Found as the clouds lower and the temperature drops. Think I might retire to the warmth to work on some more puzzles. Tftc!
I am working in Wellington for two weeks, so solved a couple of puzzles at home before I came down. Found some time this evening after dinner to head out and find a couple of caches. A lovely walk along here even at night, and while the GPS had me slightly further away I quickly figured out where this would be hidden, TFTC
Checked cache, which had migrated slightly - about 3 m. Returned to original location.
It was a nice and varied day in Wellington.
I explored the city on foot and visited Tradis, Mysteries and Virtual Caches.
Many cans I could find well with the hints, unfortunately not all of them.
Thanks for this cache and many greetings from Pöni.

Together with TEMBO! I had a really interesting geocaching-trip today. We could find some geocaches, met some locals and had a great talk to them.
Concerning this geocache I want to say thanks because we had much fun in searching and finding this geocache! The cache made our trip even more interesting!

Nice view from GZ.

Solved this one last week with a view to picking it up when in the city today. GPS was jumping a bit but got there in the end. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache. 701
Day 1 of our New Years trip up to the North Island. After the very long drive from Greymouth this morning we took the 2pm ferry across the ditch and have finally arrived in the North Island. This puzzle has been solved a long time and was our first cache in Wellington today on the way to the nearby Virtual. An easy find even though the GPS was abit out. It was actually pretty quiet down here at 6pm. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.
Paddle chick ,Sir belac and I as a team getting a few caches on our last day in Wellington before taking Sir Belac to the airport. Thanks for this mystery cache
Took a bit to find, trying not to look suspicious, read back through previous logs and had an idea. Sir Belac was able to confirm the exact location. Sometimes it pays to have a kid with you. Thanks for the cache huhugrub

Headed to the Nation's capital for a Mad Mission with Team_Gaters to visit the MEGA and have a blast hooning around in our rental car. I grabbed TG at 5.30 am to get to the airport and we picked up the car from the airport at 8am. We figured we needed to be back at the depot by 4.30ish. We had a blast we didn't get crazy amounts of caches but we did get heaps of different types and scored the oldest one for TG. We ended up only driving 150km for the day. The weather was good. Caches were fun and bumped into a few cachers on the road.
In the neighbourhood and stopped by to do the honours. Cache type 3 of 10.
Thanks for the cache huhugrub.

Cache number 3 of a total of 52 for today!

It was an early waterfront start for KSI, warfi and myself.
This was our chosen puzzle.

Talking with TheWanglers, an age ago it seems; that if WENZ made Mega we should look at taking a daytrip up from Christchurch to visit.....It did; and as it worked out - we could. So here we are. Early morning flight in, and a late afternoon flight out. A day trip full of fun, caches, dodgy parking...and more fun.
Still early enough in the morning that there weren't too many people around. Quick easy find and sign. Cheers.

Found with 2wombles after the WENZ event before heading to the zoo with family. Thanks huhugrub for this puzzle cache.
Second cache of the day after flying into town this morning. On the way to the Mega. Lots of muggles around. Tftc!
2nd cache of the day and the second cache type in the quest to get 11 types in one day. Fun puzzle to solve. We were on the wrong level but could still see it. TFTC.
Out in town with Popmac after the WENZ event before heading to the zoo with family. Solved puzzle a while ago finally in the area to make the find. Thanks for the cache.

Solved this one ages ago. In fact, on a previous visit myself and Jo had passed by and had a brief look, for some reason thinking it was in an inaccessible area and there were too many people about. Was probably the truth, but a quick find for Capperz today, so a team effort. TFTC huhugrub.
First day of mega weekend, today was all about the ferry ride and a few targeted caches on our way gradually to Upper Hutt. A few in town, some in Ngaio, and some success in Porirua (but a few fails also) before making our way eventually, and slightly late, to the first event of the weekend. Fish and chips in the park. Been hanging out for that. A frustrating day in some respects, but in hindsight the rest of the weekend was a solid success. Thanks for the caches to all COs.

Fresh off the ferry and with a few caches on and around Oriental Bay on our horizon, we made our way around the bays. We parked nearby for this one and approached on foot. R.nz had made the solve, so I was the beneficiary of his work. I made the find in the logical spot, and the cache was soon signed and replaced as found. T F T P and C huhugrub.
The big day(s) has/have arrived. It's MEGA weekend in Wellington region and the culmination of lots of hard work by the organising committee. Also, not to be forgotten, are the caches of the local, and not so local COs, which help the game to continue and enable the enjoyment of others.
The trip has been planned for a while now and the Blenheim contingent of Ricardinho.nz and myself are coming over early on Friday morning on the Bluebridge ferry (after an early morning (non-) 'event') before returning on same mode of transport on Monday lunchtime.
We didn't manage much caching on the Friday but made up for that with 3 good days after and over 100 finds for the weekend to boost my Wellington region finds past my Nelson region ones and even giving my previously prolific Auckland numbers a 'nudge'.
Over the weekend there was plenty of socialising, sharing of ideas, opinions and interesting conversations and a podium spot for the Geosaders quiz team. Allied up with some new caching friends and remet several other rarely seen friends from other areas of the country. A good weekend all around and even the weather played nicely with a sunny outlook each of the days, without it being too warm and uncomfortable. Plenty of events attended, pleasant walks experienced, a couple of bike rides along the Hutt River as well as a smattering of GROET caches for which we were GLAD.
Thanks to all of the cache owners for their hides and listings and looking forward to the next time I vist the area to continue the enjoyment.

Thanks to all of the cache owners for their hides and listings and looking forward to the next time I vist the area to continue the enjoyment.
I’m in the Windy City to attend the Wellington Mega with a few fellow Westies from Auckland. We’re having a great time as we explore the area collecting smileys as we go. Thanks for bringing us here, sorry for the copy and paste logs but am using a Cachly template to log as I go. Had solved this before heading down. A quick find in a lovely day

Had a long tiring, wet day today.... and it isn't even 3pm yet. I dumped a pile of TB's that I brought over from Australia in my usual Wellington TB dumping cache, then proceeded around the harbour.... up the side of the mountain, over the summit, along the ridgeline then down to the airport road. At that time it started raining a little heavier but I could not get a taxi to stop so I continued along the road. At the roundabout near the airport, it started chucking it down and I am in no mans land... no taxi wants to touch me (who wants a $2 fare), no bus stop in sight, no shelter at all. There was nothing for it but to simply plough on to the airport. Once I arrived, I was of course soaked to the bone.... my passport, which was buried in my bag is soft and damp (I hope I can get it into the auto gates!). But.... there is a silver lining, I got to have a shower in the lounge... benefits of flying all the time.
Today conitained 2 DNF's, lots of trads, a virtual, a letterbox, a few puzzles and 17000 steps!

I solved this in advance of our holiday to New Zealand as I knew we’d be spending a bit of time in Wellington. I quickly sussed the theme and then it was just the painstaking process of getting the co-ordinates. Tftc.
Given the short-notice nature of my visit to Wellington, there was not much time for puzzle solving, and less still for identifying those in locations hopefully close to where I was staying.
Happily this cache ticked both those boxes and I was able to arrive at the GZ and make a quick find despite the somewhat cryptic hint and nearby workman.
A fun puzzle in a format I’d not come across before.
Thanks
