One of the waypoints are missing and I cannot get to the location to fix it
We have been struggling in the area, with almost as many dnf's as finds, so we decided to put effort into this one. As mentioned before, wp2 is beyond use, we tried to decipher from all angles, and ended up with a guess that looked promising, and it delivered! Great spot for the final! I dropped the pen on the way from the car and had to go back and find it lol! TFTC!!
Woohoo! My first Multi. I am so rapt. TFTC !!! We had a great day searching for all these clues. The first was really easy and led us to places never visited before. Well be coming back here to do some fishing. We then found the second place by chance as we were heading to a swimming spot. The third wasnt really a great find but knew the answer from past experience. The fourth was tricky. Lots and lots of muggles driving past and one stopped so I found a pine cone to take down to the car in case of interrogation . The view was indeed spectacular. The GZ was slightly overgrown but container intact still. Log somewhat damp but safe. Replaced in same spot. So thrilled with this find. Thanks again No Fixed Aboder
What an interesting jaunt! Wp2 nearly buggered things up for us given it wasn't the hide described, but we spotted it in the end. But the numbers are so faded we had to do some serious guess work to get numbers that made sense. Luckily we did, and things were more straightforward from then on. Final in reasonable shape, especially considering its age and not been found since last October. TFTC!
Thanks No Fixed Aboder for the cache. It’s #1660 for us. We found your cache on 13 October 2022.
Finally! Spent a couple of days working on this one but we were finally rewarded today.
Issue with Waypoint 2 where half of the necessary information required to find Waypoint 3 is missing! Read older logs and worked out roughly where Waypoint 3 was and after a bit of searching together with the hint we found the necessary clue. Waypoint 4 was well buried having not been found since before winter but it’s there albeit a little wet.
CO has been advised about the need to maintain Waypoint 2

Staying in Bowentown for a few days.
On our way to Pauanui today. Started this multi two days ago. WP2 is more like 8m from the calculated coordinates and the north coordinates are becoming very difficult to read.
We really enjoyed discovering the wharf at the published coordinates. In better weather we would have swam here.
Stopped to make a quick find this morning. No view. Lots of mist and low cloud sitting on the hills. A well crafted and enjoyable Multi. +FP

I’ve seen this one before and never had the time to complete a multi before, but today was the day!! Really enjoyed this on a beautiful spring day. Loved wp 1 and the walk up to wp2. Wp 3 has significance for me and the final we picked up as we were heading home so it worked out really well. TFTC and the adventure. A favourite from me
Yay!!
My first Multi.
It’s taken a while. I live locally and for a long time I just looked at that little orange symbol on my map full of smileys and felt irritated. Thanks Willbuild for encouraging me to try something new.
I started off well with the first waypoint, but didn’t have any luck locating the second one. I almost gave up, but once I sat down, read previous logs and thought about it, I made an intelligent guess as to the third waypoint. I visited the object and sure enough it all fitted into place. I set off to find the final waypoint. It was pretty obvious. I was a little doubtful as whether the cache would still be in place as it hasn’t been found for over a year, but no problem, it was still there. A bit damp and smelly, but still legible. The fun part was sliding down the bank afterwards to have a passing motorist stop to ask if I was OK. ️
I’m now feeling fairly good about myself. I’ve launched out and solved a multi and a puzzle in the last week. I must be becoming a ‘real’ geocacher.
Thanks for an interesting challenge.

After overnighting at the local NZMCA park we headed for Bowentown to do a few caches. This was one of them and it was not as easy as some of the others. Just to find WP1 took a bit a effort for an unfit pair of Old F......s. But Mr S got the required information. We retreated to the camper to figure where to go next. Oh no, up there.!!!. How can you be so cruel. So we armed ourselves with our walking sticks and climbed to WP2. Now, what are we looking for? Oh, here, what's this said Mr S. Ahaha. Entered the next lot of co-ordinates and back to the camper for a cold drink. We arrived at WP3 and Mr S took one look at the structure and knew immediately what the number was going to be. Retired Engineer. Lol. Quite a few people on the shore doing this and that including a couple of young girls cutting an older chaps hair. Strange place to do it. Worked out where to go for the final and headed off. Okay, so how do we get there? Well Mr S is nothing if not determined and soon had the final cache in his hands. He almost came to grief on his way back after becoming entangled in the fence but managed to not fall by some judicious manoeuvring. This cache required considerable effort but we saw some great views, got a lot of exercise, and worked up a sweat. There was lots of traffic at the final. Vehicles whizzing past all the time and we're pretty sure they would have been curious about a pair of grey haired oldies hanging around the side of the road.
Thanks NoFixed Aboder for the adventure, the exercise, the cache and a smilie and have a FAV as a reward. Although we're not sure we should reward someone who is unkind to Old F.......s with a bad back, Mr S, and a bad knee, Mrs S. What a pair.

Thanks for an adventurous multi! Slightly more walking than we expected, especially for the 2nd waypoint, but just what we needed. Thanks for putting this together
Like previous cachers the 2nd was most difficult as we looked for a container, but we it found after a few minutes. The rest was plain sailing. Last location was difficult to get to and park at. Thanks for the cache!
Found over the course of a day. The second way point was the most difficult, but it’s there when you look hard enough. Really good fun exploring different parts of town!
cycled here from waihi beach. parked our bikes and walked to wp1. thought we might have trouble as the tide was well in but found a higher path and soon had the necessary numbers . headed of to wp2. bit of huff and puff but great view. looked in the closest bushes to gz with no luck so went exactly to gz and found only remnants of a bush and a ?? cache lid. sat down for a think and there in the grass was what I needed. I have tied it to the closest bush as there is now no other place for it. 4m west of gz. completed wp3 the next day and then collected the final on our way out of town. good puzzle with some great views uniquely waihi beach. tftc
Needed a cache for a dot day and this suited the job nicely, having done the leg work a few weeks ago. Took TB. TFTC.
Found it on our third trip to complete this one. The container at stage 2 is a bit squashed, might have been run over by the lawn mower dropped a TB at the final.
Find number 4092. I needed to check co-ords for a cache I had recently adopted so decided to clear this one. I started collecting the information about 2 years ago but never got round to completing that chore. I recently managed to get all the details of the final. As I was passing I stopped GZ today I was pleased for a quick find. Cache all good. Thank you for the adventure.
Have been here for the weekend with a group in a surf casting competition, I ditched the fishing for geocaching. Got around this multi eventually, not my most favourite place for the final WP. Many thanks anyway. Cheers
After some quality geocaching the day before and a good night rest today day was all about the numbers. I started down in Bowentown and worked my way back home to Auckland. Collected stage 1 & 2 in the morning and stage 3 later the day. When it was time to leave Waihi to drive back to Auckland I stopped for the final. Careful as there are a lot of speeding cars wondering what you will do .TFTC
Finally found this today.....finally. Had solved a while back and it has taken several visits to Bowentown have elapsed where we have driven past the final and always just missed the little parking space and so it kept slipping by. Today, we were back and after a little mountain biking in Waihi, the girls and I stopped off and Poppymjr and Gracermr were out of the door and to GZ faster the proverbial rat. The cache was soon in hand, signed and returned. This chapter is closed - the longest running cache I've had to deal with for a while.

Its Been a while and now its time to catch up on all the logging that I've put off to a rainy day (while it may not be raining, where we were heading the roads are still closed hence sitting here doing this).
Back out on the road with HKCB looking to collect a few caches around Waihi along with two more Kayak caches that we were targeting for the day. AFter making a hole in the ones in Waihi it was time to work our way down to Bowentown followed by Athenree. As we have made several runs over here in the past it was an enjoyable trip along the coast cleaning up what we needed to. Thanks to all the CO's for the effort in keeping these caches going.
Thanks for the Cache, thanks for the Placement

Another Geocaching mission with Cats&Dragons, the goal for the day was to focus on the caches around the Waihi/Bowentown/Anthenree area including the cache across the bar on Matakana Island, and while we had the kayak with us a visit to a lonely beach was on the cards as well. The day was hugely successful and a lot of fun, so a big thanks to the CO's for all the placements.
This was a very enjoyable multi to complete. After a small false start to where we thought the start was, (a small issue of guessing where it started and not looking at the GPS) we made short work of figuring out each stage. I really enjoyed the loaction of WP2, great spot!!
Nice views at the final, a nice easy find here.

We were staying for the weekend at the campground and spent a couple of days working our way through this multi. Once we had the info for WP3 we took a drive to work out the location of the final. Once at GZ, the hint made sense and a quick scramble later the cache was in hand. Great views from all locations and the final was no exception. Thanks for showing us around the area and TFTMC!
Wow more of an expedition than we expected but so much fun. Our first multi cache and allowed us to learn more about putting in coordinates and finding none cached things. Thank you so much for a fun summer afternoon of family fun
We enjoyed picking our way through this multi over the weekend and found the final just before returning home. It took us to some familiar places and others we hadn't visited before. Thanks for the fun, a fav from us for the effort of establishing this one.
Really enjoyed this multi, especially because there was no toing and froing. Final was a spectacular view in a spot I would never have guessed a final would be in. Quick scramble and spotted. Had to wait for several cars to pass before descending.
I have spent many school holidays around this area so it was refreshing to take this tiki tour lol around the area.....many thing s have changed and it is a lovely clean tidy area now thanks for a well thought out cache...it was very exciting at GZ 2 as 4 military aircraft flew by at a low altitude....looked awsome with the ocean as back ground thanks for a great cache
This was a fun easy multi to do. No problems finding anything. The final was fun to get to. Heaps of goodies. Added a couple more. Tftc
After 4 days of hiking in the hills sveppi and I had a sedate day around Waihi Beach and Waihi today. Decided to stay the night at the camp in Bowentown. Worked through this cache quickly just before dinner. Surprised at the location of the final we wondered if we calculated right. Detoured a bit further than we intended. As we approached the location we saw the hint object and knew we were right. Quick sign of the log then back around to grab fish and chips for tea
Cool a multi...staying at the local campsite we worked through this fast. But then the final... mmmm did we calculate right. Drove out to the spot and yup looks good. Quick find. TFTC
I'd started this multi some time ago and was today given the nudge to complete considering I was in the area. A couple of the views were great during the waypoint phase but now I'm at the final - darkness is closing in - it's wet, and cold. Probably should have saved this one but in truth - I'm glad to have knocked this one off. The cache container although secure is completely exposed - not that I image too many come up here - but I can see how this might go for a walk... Cheers No Fixed Aboder - a lot of leg work but not today - today was all about the final

That was a fun afternoon adventure found the new cache container. Lots of up hill walking but got there in the end left the kids in the Van for the final which was a shame but thought the final location was a little dangerous for the kids.
Tftc earnt my multi cache souvenir.

Have been chipping away at this for a while. Got the first wp nearly 2 years ago and never got around to the second until last week....even though I must have been within arms reac....almost another time. Found #2 container out in the open on Friday.....and proceeded to leave my phone at another cache around here and didn't notice until back at the car with darkness and rain threatening. Went and found #3 on the Sunday on our way home - drove passed the final....and decided turning around and pulling over a little risky - will pick it up next time!!!
The CO has just contacted me giving permission to log this as a find as I had done all the leg work but the cache was missing. Thanks No Fixed Aboder, a great multi with some awesome views!
I've always enjoyed Bowentown/Waihi Beach/Athenree and look forward to coming back on holidays.
Thanks again

Did the first waypoint last weekend and came back to finish it off today. Got the 2nd waypoint, container was on the ground, re-hid a bit better. Third waypoint was straight forward. Final wasn't found. Quite difficult to get up to GZ but once up I spent 20 minutes searching all around the item but couldn't locate the cache.
A bit disappointing after doing all the leg work.
Never mind.

TFTC awesome views found with keylev. Stopped taking and turning into a lovely day.
Was in the area for the Auckland weekend and having completed the traditionals near the start of this cache we soon found the route to the first WP and had the information in hand. The locals whom were fishing off the jetty were none the wiser.
Can't say much more about the other waypoints as I don't want to give too much away but the views were great. Unfortunately the final was not really suitable for the little ones in the group so I jumped up whilst they watched from the car.
In the distance I heard something very cool so we went searching and soon found a dirt track that had racing going on - lots of fun and once again 'if not for geocaching'.
Thanks for the adventure and a fave for showing us some awesome spots.

Updating my new geo account with my old finds. Geokid has grown out of the geo adventures, but I'm still keen! Found as thebrownehornet and re-logging 31 03 2024 as NurseDr.
1.25pm - Had solved most of this some time ago so with us in the area all we had to do is find the cache. Squirrel's workings were spot on. Great views. SLTFTC
Dot Day... Day 26 of a hopeful 50-day caching streak... Sharing the challenge with Gap (of Fap and Gap).
Admittedly, this one took us several visits to complete and with only parts of information. We took the fragments home and played around with coordinates. We made three projections and one looked promising... We were driving past today, and I told Gap to stop... (He did). A short climb and the cache was located after a short search. That was a good find. TFTC.

Tftc for this multi. It was a real family event, that took place in multiple stages, by various combinations of our caching crew. The first stages all took place relatively quickly, but we took ages to get round to picking up the final...well...today was the day! Whoop! Nice to finally tick this one off..mrs scoobydoo and junior no.3.
Brilliant start to geocaching... my first ever. Ive lived in the area for a few years and never been to the location of the 2nd point. Stunning views on a beautiful day. .. The perfect excuse. 2nd cache took a bit of finding, very well camouflaged! Very soggy note book at the end. ... But could still write in it. I'm hooked!
I hate rock hoping but with the need to get what I needed, I got to WP1, (with major technology failure the night before departing on our family holiday this was more challenging than one would expect). Info remembered then the next question was how to possibly navigate to the next WP, this took a multi facted approach. Got to WP2 and could not find, then made the search area wider, still no luck, back to where I thought it should be. Frustration apparent!! then I spied what should be holding (had rusted through), so searched below, then found, the sense of jubilation, huge. Lucky the mowers hadn't chewed the cache. Re-fixed to original position - hopes it holds. The off to WP3. Time to pick up coffees for those still asleep at the bach. Quick visit to final and all complete - PHEW! TFTC, some exercise and views.
Finally finished this one. All the clues were pretty straight forward. We had a couple of enjoyable outings to complete it. Thanks!
We started this one some time ago but ran out of time to complete it. Today while in the area we earmarked this one. The information found previously was lost so a quick visit to the WPs was once again required and then on to the final. Not too many muggles around due to the weather. Great multi in a beautiful spot TFTC.
Did stage 1 almost a year ago and finally got round to completing it today. Plenty of climbing and slipping and sliding involved as were some awesome views. TFTC
Got to the last stage but DNF today

Had fun today doing this 4 stage multi with Ric while staying at Waihi Beach ! Was quite good cos we were able to get the final on our way back to Auckland ...I let Ric do the scrambling up and sliding down part !
Was on our way to a wedge and took a look at this one last night. Treated it more like a puzzle cache and soon had a set of cords that looked pretty good. On our way to the wedding I stopped and had a look and sure enough the cache was just sitting out in the open. A great view despite the difficult climb up and the climb / slide down. Thanks for the stop and view.
Our first Multi, took a picnic & spent the whole day hunting out ALL the Bowentown Caches. Beautiful spot & some great views. TFTC.
Have been past some of these locations while looking around but never stopped for a walk around. Nice little multi. TFTC
It was hot work tracking down those waypoints today, but they were not difficult to find. Walked the first two, and then resorted to the car. Struggled to access the final but it was found easily. The log is a little damp, though I was able to write on it, but it could do with a little bit of TLC. TFTC

Found this one over our Christmas holiday with the views from each waypoint reminding us just how beautiful Waihi Beach is tftc
#945, Really enjoyed this multi, Luckly we got the walking section done this morning while the weather was holding out. TFTC
Completed in stages as opportunity arose over the last 4 weeks. Really enjoyed the various views that this multi uncovered.
TFTC. This was my first multicache and enjoyed the hunt with Harveygirlz. Good practice with my GPS. Bring on the next one now [8)]
My second multicache. I like the challenge of multicaches. Nice to have motorxking's help. TFTC
We did this one over 2 days. Stunning views from waypoint 2 and 3. We thought we got the final waypoint wrong but it turned out to be right TFTC
7523 A nicely set out multi… enjoyed our visits to the various waypoints, some great ocean and harbour views to be had on a stunning day, Logbook damp, TFTC.
Really enjoyable multi made better by some good advice to help save the legs. Thanks
Knew we should have done this one before In the shelter of the Christmas Tree.
Good multi = all stages good and ok - Helped make an enjoyable day out with NZ Biscuit TFTC

Really nice multi - shattered to find I had to face the hill again - not to self - start multi's before all others
We were in the area for a picnic so just had to find a few Caches .Well placed stages second needs some work numbers are vague ant the ants not helpfull
Easy find while out with the Family on a geocache and picnic day MY first multi it was
great fun took one TB
great fun took one TB
Found the first two stages a few weeks back. Straightforward multi, although stage 2 needs maintenance. It looked to me like the cache was covered in honey or sap, as it was crawling with ants inside and out. Coordinates to stage 3 were heading towards being illegible. Completed it none the less. 2x TB in.
2nd waypoint south numbers fine BUT. east last 3 numbers hard to read had 3choices lucky it was the 2nd. thanks a good MULTI
4.00pm. A two day multi which we fitted in between visits in the area. Second waypoint container has a missing digit. Well I couldn't be sure what it is. But as it is the last on the easting it didn't really matter but you may like to fix it. Have been in those hills many times but this was a first for this spot. Thanks. All were quickly found. Thank you. David and Noeline.
An enjoyable multi. We slotted the waypoints in to our morning's caching, and that worked quite well. Got a few toots while descending from the Final! Thanks.

Enjoyed gathering the WPs over a couple of days although the descent from one had us in a very glorious private garden. Not so enamoured with the Finale especially when we forgot to bring a pen. Stole a friendly TB and left a toy.
Did the first two parts whilst in Bowentown, returning after dinner to complete 3 & 4. TFTc

Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 637. Took a little time, but worth it for the views. Thanks.
This multi gave me a good cardio-vascular workout on a couple of the WPs. There were some great fantastic views from the waypoints.
Cheers for the cache.
