CACHE CONTAINER NO LONGER EXISTS.

was a great cache while is lasted!

30-Apr-13
The tree was an easy find with its 'blaze' Smile
And nearby I could see the bell shaped sign that marked the olde skool site.
After wading through the long grass to GZ, I couldn't find a cache though !!

It looks like a crime scene behind the tree !! [:o]
Somebody had dumped a cache, er, cash register in there.
The cash drawer is missing .

So a DNF for me as well today !!

I guess Skools out Forever Smile

Looked but couldnt find Sad

30-Dec-12
Left this one to geopartner and sat in the car with the geokids. Grass just a little bit too long for my likings to be hunting around for a cache!! Another great spot to do some research on. It never ceases to amaze us the more you look the more great places of interest you find!

29-Dec-12
To no avail we could not find the cache, we did find a freshly broken register, I don't want guess how or why. We are out of here, will come again another day , would be good if someone could confirm the cache is still there!

Someone wrote in their log "I wonder where the children are?" Well I know where 4 are...one is my mother-in-law and her three siblings. She has a photo of herself standing in front of those very gates on a sports day - the gateway looked a little different painted with the top crosspiece intact. Reading logs at the bottom of the page just now tells me the cache is no longer in its original position. It was completely exposed and I'm sorry to say I must have suffered what I can only describe as a brain fart as I didn't even think about concealing it and replaced it where I found it Surprised. It was a long day. I guess though in this location it should hopefully be relatively safe.

Thanks. Very overgrown. Didn't see any snakes but the ticks were hungry today.
Happy to cross this one off the list.

Another day of caching as we travel around Oz. Thanks for the hide.

13-Sep-11
Love these caches at historical sites that you would otherwise never see. Made a quick find, and the cache was just different enough to be likable. Last cache today before blasting into Bell to meet up with relatives. TFTC.

04-Sep-11
Out on a Father's Day caching expedition and Mrs. X. found this one before any of us. I pass this site every day and until finding this cache had no idea the location was an historical school site. TFTC.

07-Aug-11
2nd find for the day, I think I must have nearly been hit by this one, unless I knocked something in my search for this one, second time round object found easily, put it back so that it was so visible. Dont think I would like to walk in here on a summers day, there may be a charlie brown

School was definitely out - and it was well gone too! But still an interesting area to visit. Our GPSr's pointed us to the correct GZ and we found the cache after a small hunt. TFTC Speedmistress Smile

13-Jun-11
Tenth of 11 caches done between Chinchilla & the Dalby area today. I wouldn't want to be walking in there during the summer months. TFTC

26-Apr-11
Drove straight past so we had to retrace our steps with caravan in tow! Parked very close and followed the geotrail to GZ. Log nice and dry. TFTC.

25-Apr-11
Grass is very long after the recent rain, the clue made it much easier to find (saving wading through a sea of grass).

Found at 1055Hrs. Didn't see any remains of the old school, but a nice quick find.
Thanks Speedmistress

13-Apr-10
Made this hunt more interesting for myself by misplacing my cache notes ... much wading through very long grass and spider webs (sometimes several times ...) Sampled a prickly pear fruit while I took stock, and spent the rest of the day removing the prickles from my hand in time for afternoon milking at our farm-stay. (Imagine what the cow would have had to say if I'd still had prickles...) Eventually resorted to putting on my reading glasses and ... aha! Good little hide. TFTHunt Speedmistress.

10-Apr-10
Grass at GZ very long at the moment, which made getting to the cache a bit harder.

Found with the Reluctant Companion on our trip to Albany for the Ulysses AGM. Thoroughtly enjoyed this historical school site! Great cache to bring people to have a look and reminisce. TFTC.

Found the cache ok. tftc

Another interesting spot to stop, pity no buildings are left. Found the cache alright and everythings in order.

12-Sep-09
Found at 4.45pm GAFF1. Over the years on our travels we have been passing remnants of buildings and just wondered what the heck was that - so having to stop at places like this really gives us an insight as to what was going on.
Would love to know what the white blazed tree was all about.
Thanks Speedmistress.

07-Sep-09
After missing another cache in the area we decided to got out in a blaze of glory and miss this one too. Sadly we found it, so filled in the log, but no swaps of course.
TFTC and the little bit of local history. The little country schools were not the only ones to be closed. Taringa School in suburban Brisbane was closed after 99 years and developed into prestige apartments. My mother as an ex pupil was most disgusted that they didn't at least let the school celebrate their centenary before closing it.Sad

10-Aug-09
Arriving at GZ I had a good look at the clue. It's good to see a bit of history surviving the modern elements. Found after a short search at 1350hrs. It appears that others have searched far and wide around the area. Replacing it the way I found it was a lot of fun.

09-Aug-09
Well, we read through the previous logs and had a squizz at the hint, but still had not idea where it might be hiding, and the hint didn't mean a thing to us.
Better luck next time we are in this area.
Cheers

Found at 1000. Very clever hide but I seem to remember finding one or two of this type of hide in the Dalby area in the past. Good geo trail going to one particular spot. TFTC
