After having been in town for a few days it would have been nice to cross this cache off of my lost but as someone else has said, its gone.

This has unfortunately been removed by developers when muzz buzz put in. Maybe an opportunity for a new cache to be placed around here. The centre confirmed it was gone since early may. They hadn't realised it was there.
Definitely gone ... to make way for a MuzzBuzz [?] ... seriously [?]. Whats next .... McDonalds [?]
We went back and checked and the rocks where the cache was have been removed and placed individually around the centre. We checked under them and no cache. The manager in the centre offered to replace it but someone will need to help her with it as she had no idea what geocaching is. We have moved on to Broome.
We spent ages looking under a machine for this one even though our GPS said it should have been a bit to the right. After emailing a friend for help we realized we were not wrong after all. The correct area has been dug up and flattened with a Muzz Buzz building sitting on timber bearers waiting to be dropped into place. The area is also fenced off. So, sadly, the cache has gone.
I read in a log recently a cacher and his friend business trip had taken an opportunity to log a few finds. I decided that I too would grab my friend business trip and do the same. This was found on our lunch time outing. Thanks for the cache. Moved on the traceable.

After admiring the BIG TRUCK and getting all the information we could for our next leg of our travels, we made our way over to GZ and made this a quick find. Sadly it seems the free museum has now closed and from memory they are making it into new accommodation.
Thanks lilla07 for the cache!
Thanks lilla07 for the cache!
Busy area today with workers behind the fence and lots of people coming and going thru the car park and info center. Our motorhome provided some protection from muggles. Left a dice from our collection.
Great to find the cache at the visitors' centre. We found the mine tour fascinating. The only downside was that Mrs Thetaz put her camera down at the centre and forgot to collect it. We called the centre a couple of times but no-one had handed it in. TFTC
On way to Karajini for a swim etc. Interesting town and well hidden fuel outlets. TFTC stop.
Found while waiting for the mine tour. You do not need to go into the fenced area to get it.
On holidays here with my family... Mum found this one whilst we checked out the big dumptruck! I wish we could have stayed here forever... TFTC Lilla07
The kids and i were busy checking out the truck, while janine went in search of the treasure . This was the second 'display' dumpy in as many days, as we were just in Tom Price yesterday. Dangermouse09 said this was his favourite because it didn't have a fence arount it ... although he coudn't find his way to the drivers seat ... which is what he realy wanted [^]

18 May 2013, Week 3 – Day 21 of our Trip Around Australia (http://mrlocks.tumblr.com)
“1CADFAY”, (1 cache a day for a year).
We were up fairly early and were able to get on the road by 9.30, not that we were in a rush as we only had to drive 161ks to get to Newman. Before we left we had a look around a nearby field where various bits of old machinery had been left to rust. There was an old station wagon which looked to be 1950’s vintage, an old caravan, part of a chassis from some type of truck, a very large old electric motor, another car body turned onto it’s roof and many other bits of machinery and rubbish. There were also some wild cattle watching us while we wandered around taking photos, they made Jacki a bit nervous and she took off back to the caravan park.
Once we got back on the road we had quite a long stint of driving and stopped along the way to stretch our legs, the roadside parking area where we stopped was close to some interesting piles of rocks which I took some photos of. We continued on and soon came to the Tropic of Capricorn sign, just north of the Capricorn roadhouse, we stopped here to get a photo and to look for a nearby cache, “Capri – cache, GCK1JK”, this was a bit of a walk into the bush with a need to be wary of the spinifex grass as it has needle like blades which penetrate straight through clothing and gives a painful jab in the legs. Once at GZ it was a quick find and it was nice to see an ammo box again. We dropped off some toy teeth, lol.
We had a short drive to get to Newman from here, about 20ks, we pulled into the tourist information bay at the entrance to town, not realizing that there was actually a cache here and had a quick look at where the caravan parks were located then headed off to have a look. The first park we came to was called Kalgan’s Rest and we decided to stay here as the facilities were good quality and the price was good with an added bonus of free washing machines, lol. We selected a large site close to the amenities with a nice shade tree nearby and a concrete pad. After we got set up and had some lunch we headed out to the local tourist information centre and booked ourselves onto a tour of the mine for the next day, we had a bit of a look around their shop and got some maps of the local area showing POI’s. We found a cache here, “I Feel Like A Newman!, GC1PG5F”. Then it was off for a big shop at the local Woolworths and back to the caravan for a cuppa while the kids had a dip in the pool. After dinner we went for a quick drive to Radio Hill Lookout to view the lights of the town and surrounding mine sites.

Coast’n Along and Kool Running heading north from Esperance to Karratha, then heading back to Albany in 5 weeks. An easy find as darkness approached. Enjoyed some of the local art and sculptures around the Visitors Centre.
Found this cache at 1:40pm on a great day in Newman after coming across. From the Gary Junction Rd to well 33 on the Canning Stock Route and then traveling down to well 23 and Georgia Bore to the Tallawanna track.
What fabulous views from up here.
3TB's made a visit.
Thanks lilla07 for the hide

What a neat little find. I rarely take things but I couldn't resist a token from my time exploring for iron ore in the Pilbara. When I was taking things out, one of the pendants fell onto the ground. I looked around for about 5 minutes but to no avail. Future catchers, have a scout on the opposite side to see if you can find it!! TFTC.
A nice quick find after a walk through the display and visitor centre.

visiting some friends in newman and introduced them and their three kids to "treasure hunting". was a great way to see the sites of newman and actually visit the visitors centre!!
TFTC...made a Sunday afternoon in Newman for work a bit more interesting!!! Took nothing, left a keyring.
Well yeah; there are lots of thing to look under around these parts, and one should have know it would be one of these objects. The visitor centre were very helpful for other things and we had a great three days in Newman. We went to the Hickman Crater - magnificent! TFTC TNLN
Spent a bit of time in the vicinity of this cache, getting info, checking out the machinery ................and then discovering a cache. TFTC.

Quick stop to collect! Visiting Newman and catching up with fabulous old friends and meeting new ones!! Time has been limited but have been fortunate to pick up a couple of quick caches. Cheers!

A quick grab between all the muggles. A really nice visitors centre, one of the best in the Pilbarra. TFTC
Arrived in Newman and took a visit to the Info Centre. Well worth a visit. Little did we know that we had done a rear spring in the Hi-Lux and spent several hours in the car park talking to the NRMA to help. What else could we do but find a cache. This one was easy and there was not many people around also. Now all we have to do is wait a few days for a replacement spring to arrive and we will be off to do more exploring and caching, Thanks
Lunch stop on the way up to Karijini. Found with Melbermans. Left a teddy bear, but not in the cache, just left behind!! Picked him up on the way back 2 weeks later - Phew.
TFTC, Visited with a group of trackables undertaking a return trip to Port Hacking NSW via the Central Highway. TNLN.
My first Cache. Andrew & Anna 'Team Dabbo' It was busy Saturday morning and we had to look inconspicuous.
Wow! What a big one!
It took us two visits to this site to avoid the traffic. Extremely busy at this time.
thanks for the cache.

Third time lucky! Phew!! First time got entirely the wrong idea from the description and photos and stupidly ignored what the GPS was insisting on. Other times, far too many muggles. Nice hard and good to finally find it, shall be dropping off some trackables next week upon return to Newman.

Just dropping in Kanga TB who wants to travel anywhere in Oz!
Also - the log book is in a sorry state - the loose pages have become a bit of a jumble. If the cache owners would like this rectified they can contact me to arrange.
