Logs
The log by Maccamob "Wonderful views in every direction. Loved the distant hills that looked like scrunched up blue velvet" wont apply for many a year after the fires. That & the distance from home sees me archiving the cache, freeing the location up for the locals. I'll call in when next in area to pick up the can. Thanks to all who searched for it.
Found after the Bush fires. Good find container survived but the rest destroyed by the fires
An easy find as the recent fires have taken out everything! The container is mostly in tact but it's contents are destroyed, no log to sign.
The smoke is still very thick in the air so no view for us today.
Thanks for the cache.
We will definitely be back on a clear day.

A casualty of the Currowan bush fire. Photo shows strength of these containers. Will replace contents asap.

A weekend at the coast staying at Burrell Pines. Spent the afternoon caching my way back to Batemans Bay before heading home to Canberra. This cache took quite some time to locate. My GPS was jumping around a bit. As for previous finders, eventually I heard the unmistakable sound of an ammo can. TFTC.

This is a cache ive had my eye on for a while now.
Having come down the coast for the weekend i decided to stop off and have a go at this one.
I reached the trig marker after having had to use first gear to get up the last hill.
I began my search and performed a wide sweep of the places i thought most likely. After about 15 minutes i had had no luck.
Heading back to the car i witnessed a near car crash when a guy in a nissan came up and over the hill too quick and just narrowly missed a 4WD coming the other way. These were the only 2 other cars i saw the entire time i was up here, what are the odds.
I checked some of the previous comments and got a better idea of where to look.
Back in the shrubs at the GZ i went directly to where my GPSr told me i was only 1m from the cache, reached out with my foot and heard the crinkle of the metal cache.
Im glad the cache brought me up here Its a peaceful spot with a hell of a view.
Thanks.

It's probably there, but after 15 minutes I had to go.
Thanks anyway...great views...and of course the trig. Maybe next time.

Took about 45 minutes of prodding & poking but eventually Mr Geo heard the sound of metal; music to our ears. The ammo tin is certainly the best type of container to use in this location. The mountains were topped by cloud & only short moments of sun but still a great 360 view. The drive up here was worth it & somewhere we did not know about & had not even heard of. What a great source is Geocaching of environmental information! Love it! Took the Hitchiker & left a few things Geo kids may like. Kutgw
Thanks to caching we find these interesting locations
Great to find a large cache with plenty of swaps. The cache and effort deserve a fav point

A quick trip down to the coast and back today. After a short walk into the scrub, I soon had the cache in hand. Great views from here. TFTC.
Great view of the ocean and mountains. After a bit of tramping about in the thick undergrowth, we found it. So glad that the coordinates were accurate. Thanks for the cache.
The log book is full - needs maintenance.

Out and about caching around Batemans Bay and this was one we found. We ventured up the gravel road to locate this cache and the trig. Certainly great views from here. Cache is safe and dry in the long undergrowth. Left pathtag. TFTC
Found today. The coordinates are pretty accurate, within 1-2m. I only found it because I walked on it and noticed a hollow metallic sound that definitely wasn't 'natural'. Tftc. Great view of pigeon house and the coast.
Nice view from up there. We made it up there with our cruze.
Thank you for showing us this place.

Noticed this one on the radar as we passed by and thought it might be worth a look. Pity I wasn't in my 4wd but Jens Mazda made it up here no problems so alls well. Took a bit of tooing and froing before I finally located the cache but did eventually. Took the Geocoin that was inside. Now to remember to drop it somewhere. My record lately hasn't been great.
The views from here were pretty good too but someone had dumped a lot of rubbish which somewhat spoiled the location.
Thanks indeed

Thanks for this one, Tuena. Me mate Knightech and the GeoSchnauzers are having a quiet arvo of caching after arriving yesterday for a seaside holiday. We hopped into my SUV and up the road we go. We arrived here after one find and one DNF, and a really nice drive up the dirt road. The SUV went superbly.
We all hopped out and went hunting. I was put off by all the chopped-down trees, but Knightech consulted the logs, and found that a previous finder was successful in the same conditions. With renewed enthusiasm, we resumed searching and soon had the cache in hand. Magnificent views. I'll be back here on a fine day for the views.

Found @ 12:07pm with squiggle30 after hccatcher11415, a previous finder, suggested we come up here.
We admired the views while some Forestry Corporation workers were cutting down some small trees.
The area was quite overgrown with small trees cut down, laying every which way.
Luckily the GPSr got me to 1m and then it was just a case of looking closely as I circled a likely spot. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to find it but I did!
I took the opportunity to release my Spindoc Bob Memorial GC. Thanks Tuena!

We (with allrounder) found this on a drive. hccatcher11415 had found this one on another trip.
I liked the views and checking out the survey mark. You can see the bay from here!
Thank you for the cache.

Great spot for some views! Worth the detour and the drive up the hill. At dry weather certainly doable for 2WD as well. Enjoyed the view for a while and was happy with the double find!

In Batemans Bay for a week long course, my trainer asked on the first day what I was up to after the class finished. When I said “some caching” he said he’d heard there was one “just up the hill” from his place. As it wasn’t one I’d included in my PQ (terrain too high for quick grabs), I researched it that night to maybe tackle the next day. Based on the logs, I was glad I not only had a suitable work vehicle at my disposal but also that my trainer asked if he could tag along to learn more about caching. It was nice to have the company for the (perhaps false sense of) confidence (as he couldn’t drive the manual if we got into trouble) but also, while we entered via the suggested highway point, it was really helpful to have someone familiar with the fire trails and back roads going up and then returning to his property a different way, especially when I have very little 4WD experience. Once at the top after a very steep climb, found cache easily following geotrails but didn’t stay to take in the view too long as one almighty storm was rolling in with inky black clouds and strong winds whipping up the dust. As it was almost sunset too, we just wanted to get back down the mountain before we lost light and the trail got slippery. Enjoyed the adventure and challenge I was glad to accomplish and increased my desire to do more 4WDing. Think I may have also converted a new cacher to the game in the process.
Found at 4:24:00 PM.
ANZAC day road trip to the coast for some caches and sand.
My favourite combination is a trig and a cache that is driveable. Getting off the beaten track is very rewarding. The track up was much easier than the earlier trig of the day and I think easily done in a 2WD that isn't too low slung, but perhaps no in the wet. Great views up here, even on a cloudy day. The cacher trail referred to by others seems to be multiplied! But when my GPS went from 2 metres to 6 without me moving I decided to head to the new location and spotted the ammo can quickly.
Thanks Tuena.

Found today, while staying nearby at South Durass. Lovely lovely views. Found with Justz_1.
Our first cache after a prolonged break from cacheing - and a good way to restart - what a view!! views views views - panorama city!!
TFTC - love to see a well stocked traditional one - and we added some swag as well.
Easy to find (agree with comments about 4WD preferably (unless you do not like your 2WD very much!)) and make a bit of noise/vibration as you wander through the grass - gives and slippery slidey things time to wander off

I could post a heap of great photos here, but one should come and check them out for themselves.

Collecting a few caches in the area in the lead up to our #700. I have been up here before but not since I discovered Geocaching. I have put off collecting this smilie because, in our 2wd, I needed to be sure of dry roads. Roads were certainly dry today and I approached the location in the Yaris from the Tomboye Road.
At the geozone, I was please to find the cachers trails through the long grass. Cache was soon in hand.

I have been lazy and not logged any caches for a while! Catching up on some found with my bb Zal this year. Great views up here... I made Zal brave the long grass and snakes to get it
Heading home from the 10 Year Earth cache event Zhaoy said she wanted to got to the forest... so we spied the lookout & trig cache double. The Subaru Outback can handle the ascent find in dry weather. I wouldnt have attempted it in the wet... it gets VERY steep on the track to the summit. If you come in a 2WD probably best to park on the main Lookout Road and walk the last bit where the turnoff gets a little rough and steep.
We had GZ to ourselves. Took in the views and snapped the Trig Photo. Then it was a short hike, praying for no reptiles in the grass... to a classic good cache!
Awesome location and detour, Cheers Tuena!

Came in the easy way in without any drama's in the Camry.
Saw a familiar face from earlier in the day at the top of the hill.
Set about with NationalSteel towards GZ and he came up with the find.
Truly a 360 degree view from up here.
Now back the way I came so I don't get myself stuck.

The last find before heading home from the 10th Birthday of Earthcaching event. Really stunning views here, genuinely 360 degrees of them. I drove in from the South via Old Nelligen Road which I think was a steeper approach than coming from the North, but the GeoForester coped fine. I'd just gotten out of the car and photographed the trig when code1 turned up in his 2WD from the other direction. We set out through the grass and soon made the find. I took the pathtag which seems to have been there since August! Great location and a fun drive, TFTC!
On our way to the 10th anniversary geocache event, great opportunity to grab some of the newer caches. Top of the world! What a view, this is a fav for us. Tftc

AM made the find. Our first cache of the month after quite a dry spell from caching. A dry hot, dusty day. The views have been somewhat obscured by the brushfire smoke, but still a great vantage point. TFTC
Found with CJ whilst down the coast for some chilling out on the beach and of course caching.
We've been wanting to get to this cache for a while and with the nearby fires, it provided an interesting although concerning backdrop. We weren't sure if this fire in the Budawang's might reach here next week and wanted to get this one logged. The hide was a little tricky but found without search too long.
Thankfully no muggles were around. I made the find using some good caching logic and we both soon had the cache in hand. Anyway, it was a great day to chase down these south coast caches. It was a nice location and I know the area well, having spent holidays with the family nearby down here as a kid. Thanks Tuena for your cache.

Yesterday when I came to make this find I had a friend with me (pitchtohome) who had never been caching before. I was just showing her what it was. After this cache we did a couple of others as well. I didn't write her name on the log as I didn't know she would be joining up. I hope you don't mind that now she has her own account I have logged this one for her.
Thanks again for taking us up to the top and the fantastic views.

Keeping the streak going while on a trip to the bay. A nice quick find. What a beautiful view (360). Would never have known this place existed if not for caching. Placed one of my path tags in container for someone to find.

Hccatcher11415 came to the coast for a few days and was teaching me all about geo-caching. I was interested so we went for a drive to make a find. Hccatcher11415 has already found all the caches within town so we went further out to this one. After finding this one I was hooked and asked her to make me a profile so I was able to cache on my own. I hope you don't mind that hccatcher11415 didn't write me on the log this time round. This wont happen from now on as I have an account.

I've wanted to do these bush caches for some time but the little GeoPrius isn't up to the journey. Today we persuaded a muggle friend to take us on a 4WD trip and we may just have converted her to the game.
Big Bit Road would have been quite passable for a 2WD car, but I suspect Lookout Road may be more 4WD only. More fabulous views from the top. A quick easy find for the final one of the day. TNLNSL. TFTC!

Updated description to indicate that a 4WD maybe a more suitable vehicle to access the site.
On a small break down the coast, i hitched a ride with Tunks force3 (they have not cached for years)
We enjoyed getting to Gz and were blown away by the outstanding view.
Finding the cache was not hard, though, long grass and shorts don't go.
Great cache container.

Being a Canadian visiter driving a hired car, this was a white knucking experience!!!I was afraid at one point that I would not get back to a main road. Not comfortable rumaging through the bushes I decided to walk away but did enjoy the view
Followed geo footprints. A prickly find. Took frog jewel and left mini purse. Rainy day, no view.
Great cache. Found it while we have been on holidays at batemans. Went to pebbly beach for the morning and on our way back we decided to do this cache. Great drive to get up there and an awesome view once there.
Went the long way around to find the cache should have come in via the road side but still got there. Very hot day a bit worried about snakes but all was ok. Came back via the old nelligen road nice road and scenery as well.
Love the caches that let you find things and take you places you might not otherwise go.

My mate just wanted to show me view and I thought I would see if anything was near by. Just so happens there is. Nice work
Came up here to do the GCA trig and this cache as an added bonus. A couple of other 4WDs were there but able to search for the cache out of sight okay. Easy find. Good views from here, especially on a nice clear sunny day. Thanks.
19th on a 2 day cache safari - day 2. Wow! Unbelievable view. Thanks for again showing us why it is so much fun to go Geocaching. Another great location we had no idea existed. Cheers.
Wow, what a view. Once you get to the top it's easy to forget the reason you left the highway and drove up this hill. Truly impressive 360 degree views that were wonderful even on this dull overcast day. Anyway after taking in the view the real work commenced. The search took considerably longer than expected although I should have read the previous logs first to get an idea of what we were up against. Well after frustration had set in I started reading the logs and honed in on the cycad and kept searching. Eventually persistence paid off and the cache was found - right in the first place we looked but somehow managed to miss.
Thank you so much for bringing us here. We'll definitely be back on a clearer day. A great cache.

Took an evening drive to this viewpoint for the cache and some views. Thank you for bringing us here would never have come up here otherwise!
The search was a bit harsh with all the tall grass. Almost gave up but was desperate as I knew I would not come up here again and that it was a good box for the kids. Pebbles was patiently waiting for me to find it. Not much she could do in the search. Seconds before giving up as some other cachers had commented the wood hit the metal and we smiled. Make sure you double and triple search around the cycad. TFTC, nice big ammo box.

Another amazing view of the Bay and surrounding areas!! We spent about an hour bush bashing trying to find the cache.
Our GPS was jumping about a bit, and we could see alot of tracks to, from, through and around GZ, which we have trampled over even more. We decided to give up, and then thought we'd have one more look back where we started and the closest point our GPS was showing as GZ. And then the sound of wood hitting metal!! The cache is currently chock full of goodies. All in good condition.

Visited with Wahly from the USA. Wow! What a view. 4WD our way all the way up from the highway through soft heavy clay after very recent grading and a heavy rain shower. Took a Simpsons comic book and left some toys. The cache is currently a treasure trove of goodies. Great job. TFTC.
Too bad misty day, could be a great view. The rain and freshly graded track made for some fun, muddy 4WD action to get up there. easy find. Took a wallet, left a US 25 cent piece. Our calling card back home in Pennsylvania is an Aus. 20 cent piece. TFTC!
Found the cache on a very wet morning drive, 4wd required to get up the track due to the very heavy rain, I am sure it would be a stunning view in better weather.

Reperio at 1310. On the way to Jervis Bay, and made the quick detour off the road up here to find this one. With so much long grass around, I was more worried about coming across a snake than the cache. Ended up hunting around a few places when I had just about enough of the heat, and made one more look in the area of the coords...and presto! There are geotrails going left, right and center here. Seems a few are having trouble with this one.

Found at about 11:03 AM. Not the first time I have been up here for cache and probably not the last. Today it was a double bunger! We did the honours with the Trig and then headed off down the trail to find the cache. The GPS lead us around in circles with the horse flys telling us to go. Looking at the cache trail it looks like we are not the only ones whose GPS have been leading us astray. We eventually found the cache back where we had started looking.
Thanks to Tuena for the cache and the trip down memory lane.

As we were camping nearby, though this lookout should be worth the short drive off the highway. Expectations fulfilled. Lovely view and a great cache. Well trodden path lead us to an obvious hiding place. What was my surprise, when cache was nowhere to be found. After about 5 mins circling the GZ, looked again, and there it was, nicely tucked about 30 cm from my original guess. T Martian & Australian GC (Girafe TB left waiting for another ride). L horse & puzzle. Great cache, thanks a lot.

There was just time to head up here before the sunlight was lost, and mighty steep it is too (although hire cars can go anywhere....)
What greeted me was the most glorious, peaceful view and a decent geocache !
I grabbed one of the geocoins as it was just begging to head to Tassie !
Took some quick pics then down THAT road again in first gear !
Thanks for the cache and views, Tuena !

We navigated our way up the hill found the cache and took in some great views. Funny how such things can 'disappear' and be hard to find!
Its one of those spots that you could live near your whole life and not know about. Spectacular views. I arrived at gz to find a guy on a bike having a drink. We had a chat and he grew up here as well, and his parent still live just down the road. I admired his bike as well as the day was good for it. Once he left I got down to business. Hunting through the gress wasnt as fun. I may have taken the oppertunity to leave had muggles been around, but as there were none, I remained committed. Eventually coming up with the goods, I left a stash of TBs to encourage people to this wonderful place.
Thanks, as I would not have came here other wise.
