Hi nzyetje
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards
TheCoddiwompler

Stopped a bit further along the road as suggested and walked back. I also realised that I was soooo tired at this point! TFTC!!
During our roadtrip through New Zealand I passed by this cache "Gentle Hills (Gisborne)" from nzyetje on 11 maart 2020 10:52.
Heading towards Opotiki I did not spot a safe way to stop.
Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus).

I think this one has gone, the description & hint should have made this one too easy.We checked every bolted section with no joy & when we got back to GZ we noticed that section of the barrier had been replaced & we feel the cache may have gone with it.
Today we made a trip from Gisborne via Opitiki to Whakatane, again at least at the end on the route of the Pacific Coast Highway, thereby visiting many new sightseeing locations and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was very good all day long, a bit colder in the morning but it got warmer in the afternoon. Funny clouds were our compagnions especially in the afternoon.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to nzyetje for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Gentle Hills (Gisborne). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

I saw the cache first, it didn't stop another member of the HOAC running past me to collect it first (DAMN HIM!!!!). Take a deep breath, watch for traffic as we head back to the car, and away we go again.
Heading out for a day with caching mates (HKCB and RWIMF) for another epic early start to the day, did I say early start to the day (being 2am leaving Hamilton).
All in all it was a fantastic day which took us all to countryside that we had not really visited before clocking up 900 kms in 14 hours and 20 caches. Also meant that I was able to complete the final requirement for the DGSc Challenge that I had set myself as this was the final elective. Now all I have to do is work out when and how to make it to Reefton to collect the final. This single challenge has taken me 18mths to complete and required getting 2525 caches (and thats not including all the previous caches that I had to locate just to qualify to begin this particular challenge.
This was the sixteenth cache of what was to be an epic day. The mission of the day was to collect the remaining D=2.5 T=2.5 (minimium DT Rating Allowed) that I needed to collect for the above mentioned challenge. Together we signed the caches as "HOAC" to save log space.
Well with the first part of the morning completed, and a quick trip into town for the CANZ cache and more petrol we were back to it searching for a few more caches. Had to grab this one as we trucked on past
A nice quick find and another ticked off while trying hard not to disturb the locals
So for the start of a great day, thank you, and for the placement Thank you.

Headed down to Gisbourne with RWIMF and Cats&Dragons to grab the last few caches C&D needed for his DSGC Challenge that he's been working on for what seems like forever. With a very hard and fast set time we had to be home, this meant that with the amount of km's that we needed to cover a 2am start was needed.
All in all the day was a huge success and all the caches we attempted were found and we were back home in time too (just), also a bonus for me was that we were able to detour slightly to get the Gisbourne CANZ cache. A big thanks to all the CO's for the placements and congrats to C&D for finishing his challenge.

Beautiful view of the hills, cache quickly in hand and back on track for home
On the way back home after a road trip around the East Cape and of course collecting caches on the way.
Parked up the road from the case as suggested in the description and wandered down to GZ. Made the quick and easy find and signed the log.
Returned to the car as Mrs NZT made an enquiring Thumbs up signal.... An affirmative thumbs up in return was my response.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... After five months of grief, it's time for another serious attack on our current caching license. We're heading east to target seven high difficulty caches, and anything else that catches our attention...
We parked alongside ground zone. There wasn't a lot of Sunday traffic in either direction, so we managed to have this one signed off quickly. TFTC.

Took the advice about the parking, although a small car or bike can safely park at GZ. Awesome views. TFTC
I had wanted to find a cache in the Waioeka Gorge, but for various reasons we'd never managed to stop anywhere that there was one to find. This was our token Eastland cache of this trip in Barnaby. Mrs B was driving and was very glad of a nice wide and long parking space, otherwise we'd never have stopped. We walked back the 150m required to get to GZ, waited for a few muggle cars and trucks to pass so the coast was clear and I soon found the cache. All in good condition. Then it was time to take in the view and take a few photos. Thanks for placing a cache here so that we stopped for the view.
On tour in NZ! To safe time and space we signed with CG3 ( caching girls 3)!

Found on the way through the wonderful Waioeka Gorge from Whakatane to Gisborne. After heavy rain there were some stone- and rockfalls on the street. Thanks
HockeyHiker19 and I were on day 4 of our geocaching honeymoon in New Zealand. We had to pass by GZ and pull over further up the road. Even though we saw the view, it looked like it was going to be obscured at least half the year with over grown plants. Why not put it at the pull out?
Greetings from West Sacramento, California! Papa EGTH and I are spending our honeymoon in this beautiful country for 19 days. Today was Day 4 of our trip and our route was from Rotorua to Napier via Whakatane and Gisborne. We found 18 caches and had 2 DNFs.
We could not pull over right at GZ since there wasn't much of a shoulder, so we continued about a tenth of a mile up the road to the nice, wide shoulder and walked back to the cache. While we were heading to the cache, some bird swooped over us twice to check us out before heading back into the trees. I'm not sure what it was, but it startled us a bit. The cache was found in good condition and I took some photos of the nice views before we continued on to Gisborne. Soon the fennel is going to block said views, unfortunately. We have that stuff back home and it's a problem. Thanks!

Driving from Rotorua for a 4-day holiday in Gisborne. We hadn't attempted a cache yet today and decided we were long overdue for a leg stretch. Were surprised to find the cache was some way away from the pull-off area. but the road wasn't too busy so we took the short walk to it.
On the way to Gisborne with fanfan-77 and needed a break from being stuck in the car. Easy find.
a view or rolling farm hills. a nice spot to stop. muggle drivers did look at us strange
After a two day trip around East Cape and a full on weekend convention in Gisborne we are on our way home to Rotorua through the gorge. Lots of caches to pick up on the way.
Difficult to park heading towards Whakatane so did a quick uey and parked on the other side. Then hunted up and down and were beginning to wonder if it was still there when bingo Mrs S found it amongst the webs.
Sign and replace, another quick uey and back on the road to Rotorua.
Thanks nzyetje for another smilie on the road home.

Most Christmas holidays involve a road trip of some description and this year is no exception. Today we were driving between Whakatane and Gisborne, and grabbing as many caches along the route as we could. Parked 100m past GZ and walked back, a nicer view where we parked than at GZ, so we enjoyed it whilst we could. TFTC!

#4844. Nice views. Parked some distance away and walked back. Missed spotting the cache on the initial passes. Widened the search area as GPS was pointing to the middle of the road. Eventually returned to the initial area and found after a closer look. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Despit the nasty weather today it was still great views from here. Parked 100m past it and jogged back without encountering any log trucks,
Couldn't easily stop for this one, We had to drive past find somewhere to turn around and go back for it. Nice outlook. We did start to look at the wrong end for this guy as the gps was a bit confused. TFTC.
After driving past this one several times in opposite directions, trying to find a safe place to stop, we eventually squeezed onto the side of the road and started the hunt... after a long search (as we had worked so hard to stop we were determined to find it!) we eventually found it and then had the fun job of getting back out into the flow of traffic again!
Wizzed by here and stopped off at the wrong pullout. So I had to double back on this one, but carefully find places to U-turn.
Still though, nice views on nice days.

Had to chase a cow away to get to this one. Log a bit damp but still signable.TFTC.
Sussed the location on way to Motu and an easy retrieve on the way back to Gisborne. TFTC

Quick grab, managed to park right alongside it and thankfully there was next to no traffic on the road. TFTC.
Yes parking is a premium. If heading to Opotiki the best parking is on the right some 100m before the cache. Hey but a quick cache. 2nd for the day through the gorge TFTC
5.05pm - Quick find, co ords abbout 6m out, watch where you park if going north. SLTFTC
Parking is a premium here, so a turning points! Luckily the road was pretty quiet. Thanks for the stop.
Heading to Gisborne for two days work. pity there's caches along the way to interupt the trip[!! Nice find TFTC
12:30 After buying Oranges & Limes & Mandarins & Avocados and wondering why there were no caches at a couple of 'obvious' cache sites, continue on North... Quick 'photo' stop here. Cheers, GC
Quick find, but a dodgy spot for parking - particularly when buses and caravans go past. Nice view! TFTC!!!
I agree with others - much safer to drive past and walk back - but may look suspicious?? Had Mr flowernz photographing roadside flowers/weeds as 'cover' - ha ha. Maybe cache could be moved to safer parking area?? View not quite the same there though... TFTC
I did as a couple of the others had done in that I went past by 140 m towards Gisborne bsfore parking. As an added safety I put on my fluro orange vest before walking back to the cache. What a great view from here.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Found easily, followed previous cacher's advice and parked further up the road... Just as it started raining! Tftc!!
Roadworks in the area meant that traffic had to slow down around here, so it was relatively easy to pull off the road to retrieve the cache. Lovely views. TFTC.
Took Yeetrees advice and parked 100ms south. A quick find and off towards Opotiki.
Easy find, though finding a safe place to park and avoid busy traffic proved more of a challenge. TFTC.
Drove pass this cache and realised about 100 metres away so decided to stop down there, walked back to the cache, thank goodness the traffic was low, we found it quickly and then replaced and walked back to the car, thinking about it, the area where we parked 130 metres to the South has a better pull off area and also a great view as well, Thank you for putting out this cache look forward to your next one. TFTC TNLNSL (1569)
Just managed to find enough room to pull over with the trailer on. Nice view.
Many thanks

thanks for the cache
This cache came up quite suddenly and I overshot it too.
I parked about 100 metres down the road and walked back to the cache.
A nice view on a sunny morning.
Thanks.
