Just dipping Frippy's on it's journey north ... being carried by muggles so no find log on this cache.
Some photos at the old cache site. The workers had gone home and site office was closed so I couldnt get to the actual cache. Can I still log?
After an attempt to find this cache today, I have discovered that the road up to Grassy Hill is closed & will be closed for another 6 months while the local council do major road works to upgrade the road, while in the process of these upgrades they have removed the hiding place of & thus the cache itself. I ventured by foot up the hill only to find the council workers at the very spot where the cache should have been and the sign lying on the ground, I spoke with one of them and told them I was looking for a Geocache and they imediately knew what I was looking for explaning they had found it and had removed it and gave it to their supervisor then they called him up on the 2 way he explained that it was intact and was being kept in their office and I could access it on Monday during office hours if I needed it, I explained that I was only in town for the day and asked that when they were finished could they please put it back for others to enjoy they seemed keen to help and agreed to replace it (only problem is it may not be in the same place when the new road is completed.
The road to this cache is closed for a few weeks for repair work. Cache is disabled till road reopened or cache relocated. Sorry!!
A quick drive up to the cache to sign the log, and squeeze a half penny in for the next visitor. The road is undergoing some works at the moment and is a bit rougher than normal, so a conventional vehicle may struggle. We also think we left the cache in place with the lid up, and not down as requested. Sorry about that, Bamster, but we are now back in Cairns so it is too late to da anything about it. TFTC.
New container to replace a rusted and old one. New container has better magnets and will grip stronger.
Have been up to this lookout many times and never realised there was a cache here. Grabbed this one nice and easy, thankfully with now mozzies around. TFTC
What a great place to view the surrounding areas, great to have such an easy cache occassionally SL TFTC
Found at 9:30am.
I found one of the magnets on the ground near the pole so replaced it on the cache container.
An easy find at a great location.

This cache was our first find while in Cooktown for the weekend. Luckily Ballbag had his caching skills honed and ready to go because Bumblebee didn't even notice GZ (and that is with the GPS in hand and everything!!!). Bumblebee retrieved and signed the log book at 1737. TNLN.

Mr & Mrs 1SR on a trip to Port Douglas. We decided to make a day trip to Cooktown. Found this cache today at 1335 as 3rd of 7. Great views from here, loved the spot, well worth going to the top for a better look.

Easy and quick find at this lookout. Well placed so you can get it without muggles all over you. TFTC. The road up is under road works but its still accessable in 2wd.
Found this one while on a trip to Cape York with Venturer Scouts from Sandgate in Brisbane. Only just got home so logging now. Thanks for the cache.
Pt. Douglas Trip 09.11. I found this one on the way back down, but it was on the ground. I think the magnets are missing. Thanks.

While I was looking for the cache I was not running into other geocachers, but a large wallaby nearly run into me coming from the top of the hill. It was very funny.
A very beautiful place! Many thanks for the cache, Bamster!

An easy find, and I happened to run into another two geocachers whilst picking it up, which was fun.
Charlie and I are here from Oregon USA. This is as far north as we get this trip. Ran into another cacher while here...the only one we have met in 6 weeks in OZ. Travel Bug dip for our friend, Cindy.
Found while doing the Cooktown Rim Walk.
A couple in a 4WD very generously offered me a lift up the hill from the bottom, which was most appreciated. There was certainly a lot of muggle activity here - plenty of traffic coming and going. Enjoyed reading the historical bits, then made a quick find at GZ.
Thanks bamster - good cache site.

Unfortunately it was on the ground having lost its magnet. I fixed it provisionally only.

Up from Townsville via Port Douglas and the coastal road to Cooktown we enjoyed a nice 2 night stay in Cooktown. We had a caching day today and enjoyed the views to grassy hill.. The cache was quickly found and signed log and headed up to the light house. What a fantastic view and I loved reading the extracts from CAPT Cooks diary. Thanks for organising the cache. TNLN
Took the long way around but a quick reread of the instructions and help of the local police and we were on our way.
A great drive and well worth the trip. Fantastic spot full of history,
