Logs
New cache and log in place. It seems that people are still keen to find this one, so hopefully it can be re-enabled
We found what looked like the remnants of the cache but alas there we no co-ordinates for the Heart of Southland so we'll had to hunch it out. Might be worth checking out.
DNF: Arrived near GZ and parked up and was wondering to ourselves where would you hide this cache, wow, it could only be in one spot, sent Mrs Yeetrees over while I was sorting out a few things, after a couple of minutes, I was surprise that Mrs Yeetrees didn't find anything, so went to check it out, BUT alias nothing to be found - dame - now how am I going to get the puzzle that relies on this cache, Uhmmmm!!!!!!!, oh well back to the drawing board,
We found what was the log, looking very weather beaten and unreadable now though! Luckily didn't need this one to find the Heart of Southland. TFTC
5993 We had the same problem as bjtrekker, managed to read the other half of the bonus co-ords, then re-shape the container into some semblance to its original shape, TFTC
Found the cache with Carolyn. Log was full. Did leave a small piece of paper that can be used in the meantime.
Even though this cache was disabled, we decided to attempt it as it contained the other half of the “Heart of Southland” coordinates. Good thing we found the squashed cache with the missing lid. Looked frantically though the log for the second set of coordinates and for an instant thought that it was not there, then what do we find? Some cacher had stamped their names over part of the mystery cache’s coordinates! Good thing they didn’t completely obliterate the most important bits of the numbers and we managed to work out the final. Armed with the final location, we headed for the “Heart of Southland”. TFTC.
Easy find but a wet stop as it was raining heavily. Could see the cache from a wee distance.
Cache container needs replacing. It has been squashed and lost its lid. The plastic bag is just stuffed in it and has holes. The log book is full and mouldey. The magnets are most likely not strong enough to hold it there.
on our holliday driving thourgh the north and south island we also stopped by this one.
Thankx for this one
we had a blast what a beautiful country, now logging the caches sitting next to the fireplace it is way colder than there. I miss walking around with my shorts and flipflops
greetings from the netherlands

Found it on expedition round the mountain with Mike(nephew). This cache is in desperate need of maintenance Container crushed and Log full
We found the crushed container on the ground a few meters from the sign. It was so badly damaged that we couldn't retrieve the log book to sign it, or get the co-ords for the multi which is a shame. This one definitely needs some maintenance for it to stay active.
Not sure if it meant to be like that but the container is well mashed. Tight fit for the log. TFTC
I'm sure the council workers work harder and longer when a geocacher wants to retreive where they are working.
The container is badly crushed and needs replaicment. TFTC

Found (11 of 14) today with WB-Holden at 1:50pm. On our way from Queenstown to Invercargill today with the weather clear. Cache found easily using hint and container a bit flat/logbook full. Nice place to stretch the legs, Thanks Gyargh.
Cache tin in bad shape, looks like someone has jumped on it and the log is full. TFTC
Not as per clue when we found it. More like toe. Also case squashed. Found hidden by a rock. Have placed more as clue but need attention.
Found: 23/05/2010 10:16 . Find #59 of my SI road trip. The cache is no longer hidden as described and is very poor condition. The cache container has been deliberately squashed and the log sheet is full.
Cheers Gyargh

Wazza and the Wenches have invaded NZ on a (caching) holiday. Surprisingly the Wench is happy for BBTD and Wazza to chase caches wherever we go...
A super easy find. Almost stood on it at GZ before realizing it was a cache container and not just some discarded rubbish.
Thanks Gyargh

We knew where to look but I have to say we're not that blind. It has to have gone. The Italian Job was here......! Our blog www.motorhominginxs.blogspot.com
felt conspicious grabbing with all the traffic! oh dear, down the roadf to the next one and realise we were meant to be taking some coordinates. Not going back with the caravan he he. Oh well, next time we are this way maybe...that could be a while!
When I couldn't find as per clue started to look around and found cache on the grass. Looks as though it has had a brush with the lawn mower and been flattened. Had a difficult job extracting the log & pencil. Log is full. Managed to squeeze the log back in but not the pencil. The lid doesn't close. Placed cache under the foot fartherist from road as no longer stays where hint suggests. Urgently needs maintenance. Now to complete the puzzle. Tftc

Cache has been flattened lid doesnt close. Log full. Left in temporary hiding place waiting replacement.
This was the 7th day of our vacation in New Zealand. This was our 29th cache. We traveled today from Te Anau to Owaka. We stopped for several caches along the way. We stopped at this rest area and, at first, we hadn’t realized there was a cache here. But we thought it seemed to be a typical cache spot. Nice place. Thanks and greetings from The Lowlandfamily from The Netherlands

Thanks for this cache in an interesting area. Thanks the Lat long on Minne Deans grave Have heard so much about her and the infants she killed.
Quick find. Tried to find the grave but didn't manage it. Was raining very hard. TFTC
#1174 (20/24 on an Invercargill / Riverton loop). Easy find on the approaches to Winton. TFTC.
love this little cache hidden away not in the usual place from the kids' point of view and frustrated them for a while searching! log was full - but we scrawled our tag down the side TFTC!
4th cache of the day heading south, found at 6.30pm ,interesting history, nice rest stop after bicycling into a headwind coming south all afternoon, found the grave too TFTC
Had to return to this spot as too many muggles about. Found Minnie Dean's headstone with co-ords given.
Muggles, muggles everywhere. Engaged in some pantomime photo posing to retrieve this one. TFTC.
When we collected it it was fine, no muggles, but frenchfairy had to do the stealthy "I'm checking my phone while standing beside hmm hmm can't go on (cache location)". This trick always works.
Had a hunt round for Minnie Deans' grave, never stopped to see it before - and we did a huge study on it at primary school (when the morbid was still acceptable).

Finding it wasn't so hard but there were heaps of muggles around so putting it back was a bit harder. Pretending to text always works.
What a hard cache to get with stealth! Someone else pulled into the Rest Area at the same time as us, possibly for the same reason - but you don't like to let other people know what you're up to!
The hint doesn't apply to where its hidden anymore, but the coordinates get you there easily.

Last stop for the day, on the way south. Had to wait forever for campervan fo finish coffee/tea. TFTC TNLN.
An unusual rest area, right by a Cemetery. The cache was obvious as we approached.

Bit of interesting juxtapositioning there. A nice "Rest Area" sign pointing at... a cemetery. Oh easy cache find too, thanks.
easy find on way to Invercargill, Nice spot for a break on this lovely day. TNLN TFTC
Stopped at Blink......and you'll miss it! but just too many folk around including a fella taking his lunch break in his car right where I knew I wanted to be so headed through town to this cache. Spotted it as soon as I pulled up but had to visit Minnie to allow another luncher to move on then retrieved the cache. By the time I'd got the details and logged my find more visitors turned up so I had to leave with the cache in my hand! After going back to the first micro and doing some shopping and getting the bonus cache I managed to place this one back where it should be but even then only after some waiting around.

A bonus for me, this was first time I had been to Winton and the caches bought me here. I was shown the area by a fellow cacher who lived here for a period then back to business and puzzle solving.

Clever spot to hide a cache, have the history book on Minnie
Dean, so it was good to see where she is actually buried.
