Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Now only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Back around Canberra and doing some side trips.TFTC. A return trip from Oberon to Goulburn with 60 caches including a CITO, 2 ECs, two multis and many interesting trads. Firstly along the highway and then through the pine forest plantation tracks. Amazing scenery with lots of deer, emus, roos and rabbits.Nice multi with interesting history. A bit confused at GZ, but looking a bit more found it.
Catching up with late logs.We are traveling with Geoturtle 37, Papi4506 & The Drovers to do an assault on Bathurst and surrounds. We solved all the puzzles we could before we left home which was also an enjoyable part of this journey. We had a great time today doing a southerly loop picking up any caches that came up on the map finding all types of cache sizes and hides but unfortunately we have got behind in our logging and are trying to catch up now.We can no longer remember the caches individually so we apologize for the generic log, it's certainly not meant to take anything away from our experience, it's just the old minds just ain't what they used to be.This cache made us smile and we have always said if it makes you smile it is worth a favourite point so we are leaving one behind. We signed the logs as The Mob.Many thanks for adding this piece to the game board for our enjoyment.
It was a little drizzly when we pulled up here so we were grateful for the reasonably quick find. Thanks for placing the cache for all to find. Now for some lunch.
We decided to grab "just one more" before we went and had a delicious lunch at the local bakery. This cache was found without any problems which was much appreciated as it was starting to get rather drizzly. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.
Day 2 of our Bathurst trip with Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 & Papi4506.Today we did a lot of country driving, through nearby towns. The scenery was lovely with the trees turning a multitude of different colours for winter. All puzzles were solved before the trip. This is one of the caches we stopped to find along the way.A quick search and the cache was located, signed and replaced. Many thanks for placing this cache, Dusselaar1, for us and others to find.
After spending a couple of weeks in Canberra attending the Mega Event it was time to head back to Brisbane. We have a few weeks to travel so we are meandering up through country NSW. We arrived in Oberon early today so set up camp at the showgrounds. Once that was done went sightseeing around town via way of some of the caches. This was a quick easy multi and in a nice park where we found the local ducks were very friendly. Thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches for us all to find.
Spotted the new gen walnut straight away and went over to get the numbers. Our solved coords were a few metres from where the hint describes. Checked the workings because it wouldn't be the first time I erred in simple maths but this time it appeared good. The cache was found quickly once we moved to the correct spot. A quick enjoyable multi, TFTC Desselaar1.
A quick find here, cache is all goodHeaded over to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra, ACT with Freddo over 5 days, travelling through the central part of NSW before caching around the hinterlands. A nice few days over with great weather. Thanks for the cache
In the interest of keeping this cache alive and reading previous logs/DNFs and a good search by ourselves using hints and tips from previous logs, We have replaced the container including a new log inline with the D/T rating until the CO has the opportunity to check out same. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Adelaide to Broken HillDay two. Broken Hill to WellingtonDay three. Wellington to CowraDay four. Cowra to BathurstDay five. Bathurst to CanberraDay six. Canberra to CanberraDay seven. Canberra to QueenbeeyanDay eight. Canberra to AdelaideThe generic bit.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. A nice straightforward multi which showed us a nice location in Oberon. Unfortunately, another DNF to add to this list.
We are on a cachey 10 day holiday, starting off with 2 nights at Emu Plains to hopefully collect the new GFA puzzle caches around Luddenham and some more of the Band caches north of Penrith. Then it’s 5 nights at Oberon to collect some of the many new & old puzzle caches that we have solved around the area, and also hoping to complete the Oberon Adventure Lab. After leaving Oberon we will be visiting Jenolan Caves, for both the caves and the Jenolan EarthCache, then heading to Katoomba for 2 nights to ride the Scenic World attractions (Railway, Cableway, & Skyway) and to do a few caches of various types plus an Adventure Lab. We will end the holiday with a stop-off at Wentworth Falls for some more caches and a couple of Adventure Labs.
Today we are staying close to our park cabin at the Jenolan (Oberon) Caravan Park, taking a walk around the Oberon town centre to collect some caches and Adventure Lab stages in the morning, and investigating some other areas on the edge of town in the afternoon.
Found the tree & plaque, did the calculations, then went to GZ and searched for a while around the trees & shrubs, but nothing cache-like was found. Yet another sad blue face to add to our Oberon geomap

Found this one after sitting nearby in the common eating a pie for lunch. Boxing day meant only the foodworks was open and after a breakfast of christmas chocolates and leftover Pav we were craving something savoury. Container hidden in leaf litter but log is surprisingly dry. TFTC, we enjoyed the walnut tree and noted that there were walnuts on it.
We had two walnut trees in our back yard - one was about 60 or 70 years old and planted by my grandparents. The other was a seedling of the first and about 40 years old. We referred to them as the old walnut and the young walnut. I would have loved to see the old tree in Oberon. Hopefully the new tree will reach the same stature one day.

Having visited Jenolan many years ago I was keen to visit with the family. The fires in the area had our plans on hold until yesterday, all looked okay so we booked accomadation and the awesome Orient cave tour and fingers crossed it's not to smokey. As it happened we had most of the day with a beautiful blue sky until the smoke blew in in the afternoon.
Spent a wonderful day exploring about, the cave tour was a highlight, just as good the second time for me too. A lot of the walking tracks were closed for safety reasons with the fires but the blue lake walk was still open and was able to walk it's length, loved the water dragons and other lizards and cool to see so many lyerbirds too.
A full day out and we headed into Oberon to our accomadation, dinner and then spent the last of the evening out for a few caches.
A nice quick multi which was great as it had started to get quite cold! A read of the plaque and we soon had a nice close GZ and an easy find. The old walnut tree by it's measure would have been an impressive tree, wow! Thanks for the cache, another nice oldie.

Floating around while the others use their amazing skills to search for the cache - usually it's me snooping around for the find, a nice break today. Log signed and replaced and the scene evacuated TFTC
Heading somewhere unknown but stopping for caches on our way. We walked around and looked around the trees hoping not to see any snakes None seen today *phew*! Thanks for the hide. ️️ OCW *Throsbyonchurch* with *Little Panther* in the mix. ️

One of the main attractions for our vacation down under with kimallus was Jenolan Caves and there we headed today after staying overnight in Katoomba.
Continuing our route back to Sydney via Oberon. Now arriving to Oberon and we just noticed a multi starting point and a parking place right on our way. So we stopped to give it a try. Not really any expectations without any preparations, but this played out well. Must have been quite a tree, can imagine. The multi was nice and quick, very tourist friendly. Thanks for the cache.

I would have liked to see this gorgeous old tree, and could only imagine how wide its branches were.
The needed information was quickly gathered, and soon was also the box in jyrkios' hands.

An easy enough find but half the hint doesn’t really match, maybe something’s been removed since the cache was placed. Just looked under things until I found it.

Back today to do more of this fun series. We love the rural areas so this sort of caching suits us just fine. A lot of work has gone into putting out these caches and we are grateful to the co. Thanks to Dusselaar1 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
We remember doing a cache in this lovley park many years ago. Found by using the hint as coordinates appear to be about 10m out. Tftc
Day 2 of our trip away. Staying in oberon over night and thought we would head out after dinner to collect a few extra smiley faces. Thankyou for the cache

Found the info ok. But had a bit of trouble locating the cache. Found as I was about to give up.
Fitzy_1965 and I headed out for another day of caching in the Oberon-Lithgow area. Decided to pick up some out of the way caches and to fill in some gaps.
Had collected the required info earlier in the day but didn't risk finding it as there was a party happening nearby. All quiet on our return made for easy searching. Fitzy eventually found in a place I had already looked. Agree with others that the coords are around 10m out.

Fantastic winter's day out caching through the Oberon-Lithgow area today. This was the next find of the day. We had solved this one earlier today but with a party going on nearby we thought we'd try again on the way home. Once we got back here it was deserted, but still took quite a bit of searching until I looked at in hindsight is an obvious place close to the hint. Signed the log, returned the cache, and we headed off to the next one.
Thanks Tablelands Cachers !!

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
I attempted this one a while back, but couldn't find the cache. I had better luck today and can call a find.
Second day out in the area to complete the power trail and other scattered caches about. I had camped out in Flat Rock campground, bit since i went to sleep much earlier than normal, i woke up extremely early, 3:45am and couldn't get to sleep again, so while i packed up, i made a coffee to go and started to cache in the dark.
Due to the rain overnight, and frequent drizzle, most of roads I drove down were muddy and very slippery. Gave my xtrail a good workout.
Overall I found 67 caches, and called 3 DNFs.
Thanks for the cache.

Found by checking the app while having lunch in the park. Its good to see the park being used. There is also a blue cattle dog wandering around but doubt he is lost, probably just scavenging the picnic leavings. Off to check out the Mayfield gardens now . Tftc

My Geowife and I had been down at Jenolan Caves for the weekend with a group of friends. I decided to take the "scenic" route back out via Oberon. As we were on our way home, I decided to find just one cache and when I pulled up to admire the park, I discovered we were opposite this little multi. We found the walnut tree easily enough although my GZ was about 13m away. The required information was soon discovered and we were on the hunt. It didn't take long to discover the hide. The hint was a bit misleading. Perhaps the gardeners have been busy. Also, I would consider this container a micro. None of this mattered as the cache is easy to locate. Thanks Dusselaar1 for a nice little stop in Oberon. I'll be back one day to complete all the others in the area.

The final find of our trip to Dubbo for the long weekend. When the car GPS decided that coming here from Bathurst was the fasted way home to Canberra I was a bit surprised and we stopped off here to stretch the legs and find a cache.
After the calculations I was led to somewhere which did not match the hint at all. So I went back and re-checked everything and returned. In the end I found something which matched about 13 metres from my calculated GZ. There was a mint tin with a scrap of paper with the cache name inside, so I hope it was right.
Thanks Dusselaar1

A neat puzzle that lead to an excellent nearby hide.
I do like these hides that are there right in front of other people's eyes but they don't know to look for them.
The puzzle was solved fairly quickly although my mentals are not as good as Mrs PNPs.

Lovely short multi done on sunny morning when while headin back from caves. Nice easy find with kiwi_chris. Now searching something to eat here. TFTC.
After spending the night in Oberon for a 50th, I was able to grab a few caches before leaving town. TFTC.
Spent the minimum of time collecting this cache and lots of time enjoying the very cool play equipment at this park. Anyone with geo kids and geo teens should not miss this one. I loved the mouse run whilst geo teen enjoyed the flying fox. A great little spot. Thanks for bringing us to this place. The log was rather wet though. TFTC.
Took a caching trip through Lithgow, Sodwall, Tarana and out to Oberon on what turned out to be an ever increasing wet day. Despite the rain, there was plenty of opportunity to collect a few caches and have a most pleasant day.
The rain was quite heavy now so I made the calculations from the safety of the car and then off to GZ. Cache located, log signed and all replaced.
