Found with Grumpy Ant. Had lunch under the trees. Nice spot. Boy were those kayaking companies doing a roaring trade. Three full trucks departed while we were there.

We were hoping to grab a few of the caches in Yosemite Valley, but managed to only get to "Fort Monroe" before the skies opened up and we were pretty much rained out for the day. Fortunately this earthcache was a short walk from parking, so we were able to make a quick dash to check out the area. This is a great spot, and we're glad we got out to see this part of the river. Thanks for the fun!

This was a perfect place to come as we were biking around the park. A place to rest and enjoy the meandering river. The water was low, of course, but it was nice to be around water after visiting the dry falls. And it was interesting to think about another aspect of the geology of the area. I tend to think of Yosemite in terms of its grandeur -- glacial cuts, falls, hanging valleys, and sheer rock walls. But there is also much to be learned along a river that makes its way through such an area. This earthcache enriched our experience in many ways.

Last day in Yosemite, our 12th in the Valley. We were camped in the uppermost loop of Upper Pines and were due to head to Calaveras this afternoon. I hopped on my bicycle and rode over to the Village for a few last minute items before continuing on past Yosemite Lodge - following much of the route of our Yosemite High Water multistage virtual.

We are very familiar with this site as it is where we pull out when kayaking the Merced during summer visits. Water was very low this month and Yosemite Falls were bone dry. The Merced was about as lazy as it gets.

Provided answers and received approval to log. Thanks for another very informative posting. I always learn something new when visiting one of your Earthcaches.
