After a nice lunch at the Black Spur Inn we had go at finding this one, but it appears it may have been bulldozed by the DEPI about a month ago whilst preparing a firebreak for a future planned burn. GZ had me in middle of the dozed area. I would like to be proved wrong, if any previous finder or the owner could investigate thanks.
Done with rally preparation and heading home with some daylight left so decided to hunt some caches on the Black Spur and this one was first.Got to GZ easily enough but had a bit of a walk around with the GPSr going a little bonkers but used geosense to get the cache. Thanks to darkvale for this one, always nice to find an ammo tin in the bush. Took the TB.
Took geoDad for his first caching run and found it in the first place we looked. Cache and log in good order, TFTC darkvala.
Dropped the ski breaker TB. Such a beautiful part of the World here.

10:38:15 Ok almost got rear ended here as the car following in true style was to close behind. Pulled in and travel down to GZ, was able to park opposite and was soon circling the cache. As I reached down to collect the cache I felt a wet spot on my front and my first thought was water off one of the bushes I brushed by. I found out shortly it was a leech. Was soon on my way less a hitch hiker.

Found before we had dinner at the Black Spur for dinner, was great to see a tradition in the log book of people signing their home location! Was a very cool aspect to this cache. Cache was found with ample camouflage and in good condition, TFTC
Found while travelling through the area on vacation from Canada.

Quick find on a cache run homeward bound. Only the third of this kind I've found out of nearly 400 finds. Got to GZ unnoticed, not sure what the 2 dirt bikers thought we were doing as we signed the logbook and engulfed in their trailing dust.

Today was another epic today with some good numbers in a region I've been meaning to visit for some time. Was with best mate and caching wingman ahomburg once more with the plan to do the Lady Talbot series as well as other caches in the surrounding region. The weather today was ideal for a big run with a temperature of about 23 and sunny. A good all round day with different types of caches (3 type rule achieved) and some high and low terrain ratings completed. Fascinating to see how much the region was hit by the fires in Feb 2009 and today it coming back which is great to see.
Were able to drive straight to GZ this morning and some how we trusted the GPSr more then looking around on approach. So after checking one spot expand the grid to another obvious spot where the cool cache container was finally in hand. TFTC Darkvala do like finding these types. Left blue gem stone.

Today was the last day I could go caching with my partner in caching SedgwickDave before he was to leave for a holiday, so we wanted to go somewhere where we could find lots of caches. It was decided to head to the Marysville area via Healsville and a few caches there too. It was a fantastic sunny spring day and really the ideal day to go caching.
After making our way over the black spur, this cache was our next target. A nice little drive along a dirt track. Once at GZ, I think we searched every possibility before searching the correct one.
Thanks to darkvala for the cache. TNLN

Nice hide here and a good container. Agree with the previous finder that is it great to find good containers like this. TFTC.
Found it today, nice hide, nice to find a large container. Took Lanyard, left squishy car, Thanks for the cache, darvala.
I got word from Dr Jim that he was panning an 4x4 assault out east.. so plans were made to take the day off work and join the fun.. C@H woosed out when the weather got nasty.. So it was down to the two of us to fly the flag and spread the good caching word.. Mostly the bad weather saw us coming and ran the other way.. Although nothing could scare the snow away, however despite the cold conditions I wouldn't have traded it for the world.. go as far as saying best caching experience ever.. The trust steed (4x4 hire truck) did us well and mostly stayed on the road.. Thanks to all the various cache owners for your part in our fun day, and of course to the Captain of the fair ship, Dr Jim.. Sorry for the proforma copy/paste log.. TFTC Dipped various bugs and TB's to mark the occasion.. Find #2489

Don't know what car your turning, we could turn a truck.

Despite coming down this road countless times we've never stopped here for some reason... But on approach today the kids were hungry so it made sense to stop, refuel them and find a cache. Alpha and beta males made the walk through the warmth to GZ (passing a nice new Defender which was of far more interest to alpha male, and a deceased wombat which was of far more interest to beta male!!) where the cache was quickly found with the help of the clue, and then incredibly carefully returned and camouflaged by beta male. His slightly obsessive compulsive-nature will come in handy in cache hiding methinks!!
TFTC darkvala.... Glad to have finally stopped here.

#913 7th of 10 in an arvo's drive up to Narbethong and back along the Acheron Way on a beautiful Spring day. Passed by here quite a few times but never stopped. Decided to walk up the track (glad I did now I've read the cache page) and soon had the cache in hand. Thanks darkvala.
Second of nineteen on our way to Marysville. Easy find followed by a quick bite and frothy on the front deck of the Black Spur Hotel. A lovely spot to sit in the sun. Took Pirate TB. LN

While camping in nearby Narbethong with Grim Jeeper, The Barlow Clan, Big Red Car and Chillem we decided to form a convey to pick up the Lady Talbot Trail caches plus a few others. This was the first of 19 today.
With the Grim Jeeper and the Barlow clan having found it the day before they stood back and watched the rest of us search for what was luckily a nice easy find so they missed out on all the mockery. We then walked back to the pub where we had all the cars parked vowing to have a drink at there but unfortunately some how that didn't eventuate this weekend
My thanks to Darkvala for the cache.

This one also took a little longer than it should have to find but it was still easy enough. Second Ammo Box seen today which was a bit surprising. This was another nice spot. Thanks darkvala I also liked the real Geocaching logbook, I have seen them on the internet but never actually used.
We found this cache today at 5:55pm as the 34th of 35 on our Marysville Caching Tour IV in company of Alansee and Lochb. It was just as dark on this visit as our last unsucessful time but this time around we left with the cache find in hand. Thanks from D B-A.

We came looking for this one today to complete Map#30 in the Victorian Country Road Atlas Challenge. Enjoyed a hot chocolate at the Black Spur Inn before going to look for the cache. The short walk in the bush was heavenly and we made our find at 11am. Took: CD Left: 9/11 memorial GC. TFTC and the chance to explore this part of Victoria, which is not so far from our home.

I remember this cache was placed around the same time that I stuck a couple out near Toolangi and I can remember thinking that I'd have to get up there and find it some time. It's a spot that's quite familiar to me from my youth when the Black Spur Inn was the Narbethong Hotel (it made an appearance in the '50s movie 'On The Beach') and I was good friends with some of the family that ran it. I can remember at least one wet and scary ride home over the Spur on my motorbike after drinking and playing cards in the pub until around 2am. Anyway, today I managed to get up there and it doesn't look all that different, except for a few new buildings around it, and I made the short walk to GZ and had no trouble locating the nicely sized cache.
TNLN
Thanks darkvala - I like these sort of caches.
PS Sorry for the late log, I'm a bit behind with my paperwork

Took a while to find as walking around in circles. Then it appeared. Took TB's. Not a spot that i would normally stop at, thanks for giving me a reason too.
This was a nice stop with a short walk which we really enjoyed. Greetings from Hamburg, Germany
The GPS had me walking around in circles, then had a moment, just a short one, and the cache was there after all. Had to use the hint.

It must have been the Eucalypt and Forest aromas that effected our Geocaching senses - not that either of us minded - for we (Dylan 7a and thine) fussed about like a pair of confused Wombats but with much less appreciation of location and perhaps commonsense. Once we we realigned our brains we found this one after a much longer, than should have been the case, search! Still, we had a hoot of a time fossicking about without disturbing the landscape. The Bush Flies - maybe they were March Flies without a sense of calendar, were quite numerous and there were visions of stumbling across some carrion (happily none found). Be wary of the Holly at gound level - nasty stuff! Thanks to 'Darkvala' for the cache and its location amidst a Forest setting. TNLN.
We pulled off the track just near GZ and hopped out. Moments later someone came running down the road (with their dog). They knew all about the cache and offered a clue if I need it. Fortunately I didn't.
Thanks, Robmc.

Found after a bit of scounging around. SL
We were being watched by some rangers we had passed on track. Scrounged around some more and collected some holly leaves for Christmas. Spoke to rangers on way out, they were planning a spraying program for the holly that is a noxious weed in this area. Pleased we could take as much as we wanted!

This was a nice weekend away with Mrs Iamapom to join a day trip from Narbethong to Rubicon with the Landrover Club and Pajero Club of Victoria.
We stayed at the Inn - along with a few other club members to join the trip at 0930 on Sunday morning. We arrived at the hotel at dusk on the Saturday (around 1645) so I decided to make a quick dash for this cache, so that my morning would be clear to prep the car as needed.
Left by the back door of the hotel, and got rumbled by a couple of the other 4wders heading up the track. Found the spot quite easily, and the well hidden and well camoed cache. By now, getting a bit dark.
Found that the cache contained an unopened "Wild Arctic" DVD - I've seen a similar Antarctic one - so couldn't resist taking this. Didn't have a lot on me to swap - but left a $NZ5 note - which is like 50c Australian. I'm thinking that I may watch the DVD - and then make it into a trackable to drop into another cache - and continue it's travels - with a target of making it to the Arctic.
Got back to hotel in time for excellent beer and tea. And a good trip the next day.

We went on a birthday caching trip today for JMelb and this one was first on the list.
We were following GPS without refering to cache notes and it took us down a dirt road well before the Black Spur Inn which ended up at someones driveway with GPS saying there was about 300 m to go!! - whoops!!
We then looked at notes and realised we had to go to the Inn. Once there GPS was saying cache was over 2 km away!!! We looked at accuracy and it said 251m!! I have never seen it so high before!! lol
Once we got out of the car and got a better accuracy (4m) it then saiud the cache was only 230m away!
Once all that was sorted out it was a pretty easy find at GZ
Took yo-yo, left Wildest Action DVD
No sign of the disposable camera by the way
