Hello,

It is Rana Pirica, the geocache maintenance frog, once again hopping through your area to check on geocache maintenance.

Since there has been no owner activity on this cache page and it has been over 30 days since the request to perform maintenance, this cache has been archived. Please remove any remaining cache components if you have not already done so. If there are questions about the archival or if you would like it to be re-considered for listing please e-mail me or your local reviewer in response to this archival, and we will help to unarchive your cache if possible. I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and look forward to seeing your further participation in the future.

Sincerely,

Rana Pirica

I got suckered by this one I hit find nearest and this one poped up it was not till after searching for 15 minutes that I thought to look at the loggs and relised that it was unavailable that will teach me Smile

29-Aug-10
Is this one still coming back?

27-Apr-10
Nowhere to be found. After reading all the comments here I suspect there wasn't anything around to find unfortunately.

19-Apr-10
Sorry fellow caches have been in NZ for past few months. I shall tend to the cache ASAP and get it back on board.

16-Apr-10
This cache has 9 DNF's and 4 needs archived notes, I've seen caches put to bed for much less!

15-Apr-10
Why not try again to get it archived, someone has to take notice at some stage.

30-Mar-10
How many needs archived notes before someone listens?

Hey Matt,

I don't think anyone cares, I have tried contacting two reviewers, the last one being Rana Pirica, whose reply was

"GC1R15E -has 2 Needs Archived logs on it, is still active, and should be attended to by your local reviewer."

What else can you do, if reviewers don't give a damn. I have been trying to get some archived that have been non-existant/inactive for 16 to 18 months.

We went for a walk to find this one and had a look around for a few minutes before reading previous logs. It appears that this one is not there anymore.....

19-Mar-10
Time to go

12-Mar-10
It's a great little cove, but if the cache is not there and the owner isn't active, what's the point.........

17-Feb-10
Unfortunately yet another DNF, got to ground zero what a lovely walk, definately easier from below. I think I had also stumbled on some lovers as their dog was tied up nearby.
Had a good look around but to no avail.

06-Feb-10
We will add another DNF to the list. Looks like it may be time for a check. We will return once it has been found. Cheers kombi_173.

What's happening, it needs maintenance.

Alas, we (4 in all - chrysdm & Woozy Moose Tribe) did not find this cache, even after spending quite some time hunting for it and raising a good sweat! Nice location, but a shame there was no cache. Better luck to the next geocache searchers.

11-Jan-10
Having made the trek to the point Mr and Mrs Woozy Moose Tribe along with Mr and Mrs chrysdm came up empty handed. We find ourselves wondering if it is still at that GZ.
Awesome location but a disappointing end to an otherwise fantastic and very successful day of caching.

An easy walk from the east with a small clamber down at the end. We were right on GZ with no cache in the obvious place. OK, just widen the search area, but despite some death defying crawling up and down gullies, cliffs and bush the cache evaded us. Did not check one small tree leaning out over a 5m cliff, as that would have been difficulty 5 at least, and probably just stupid. There were signs of a large party here recently.

What's happening with this cache?

24-Dec-09
Three sets of eyes and two goes at this spot and we could not find it anywhere. Could it please be checked as it's a great spot, with lots of litle caves and crevices that would make great hiding spots. The water was fantastic. Thank you for the view, would never have visited if not for the cache.

24-Dec-09
Had a long look with 3 sets of eyes, but couldn't see anything. Curious as to if its still there... Still, had a great day, and found all the other 3 we planned on. Great location too.

06-Dec-09

Nice walk down to gz and certainly a fantastic spot.

Found the obvious location according to the clue, but no cache to be found - either sistema or eclipse! Tried a few other likely spots nearby, but no joy.

No4 on an early morn bike ride. TFTC

22-Nov-09
Attacked from Waterside Avenue, found the tree and a cache, which obviously someone else had found too. Though it was not the advertised black sistema container, we claim this one as a find anyway.

21-Nov-09
Found the 'sort of cache', but now looking at the picture the cash man posted, it looks like I didn't find the right one... hmm

15-Nov-09
Found the eclipse tin with a sort of log inside. Is this the cache?
Use 2nd suggested parking area, and then go low and around, not over, to make an easier walk. But still probably not suitable for mini or junior GCers.

Well we believe we found GZ but all was empty expect for an eclipse tin. ? was this the cache or just left behind?

Like JAB's said. Not sure if its the cache or rubbish left behind.

We look up and down, in and out of trees and were unable to locate any the remotely looked like a cache...Wonderful spot though

This is one of those caches that I really enjoyed.

It was a nice walk through the bush.

The GZ was a great spot on the lake.

Retrieved the cache and then took plenty of time to log it and take in the surrounds.

Thanks for taking me to this area.

A beautiful spot. A bit stressful with the kids who just want to run ahead.

08-Aug-09
Great we walk down in the dark, enjoyed it a lot! Cache was very exposed upon arrival, we tried to cover it up a bit better. Cheers Gav [3983]

Cache was exposed on a stump when we found it. TFTC.

I didn't realise this part of the lake had that type of shoreline, I'm glad I wasn't nine months pregnant I'm male. TFTC.

Found this one on a day out caching with Lyrebirds and Black Tipped Reef Shark. Beautiful walk around to gz and we continued on after that for some more lovely spots. Was not expecting a place like this on the lake so thanks kombi for another great cache taking us to a beautiful place we otherwise would not have known existed...

Took nothing, left bounce ball. TFTC

P.s would not have liked to walked this nine months pregnant!!! LOL

Found 15:00. Nice walk in and easy find. 2 logs in a month for a new cache will make it interesting by dropping off a TB. Thanks.

06-Jun-09
A romantic spot in the evening with the full moon. Yum. TFTC

06-Jun-09
What a brilliant spot Smile It was just on dusk as we walked around the hill and the soft light over the lake was lovely. At the little cove, the water lapped quietly on the shore and the full moon was rising in the east. It was certainly a beautiful spot and well worth the cache title of Lover Point. Swapped TBs, picking up Sideshow Bob and dropping off the Canadian Hocket TB. Thanks for a visit to a cache in a really fabulous location.
