Got this one. Big colourful spider on this one, but I have no problems with spiders so log all signed. Nice and dry.
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on. SA caching foray. Staying in Mount Gambier for a week to grab some of the local hides. Its been sixteen years since since we were last here so enjoying the re-visit. Replaced manky log sheet. Thanks for the hideLNCU
We are travelling with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching trip using geocaching as our guide. We are in Beautiful Mt Gambier for the next week, soaking up the amazing things this area has to offer. We especially love the bush and back roads. Thanks for the cache RalleyHeads. LNCU.
Bullertrout, Nanzie and i are caching our way to Adelaide for the mega. Picking up what we can in the time available. Nice easy find here, had to grab quickly to avoid the ants. All logs are being signed as BT, N, PC or some variation of that. Thanks Rallyheads#15218
PCNBT TEAM on our trip to join our other caching friends in Adelaide for the Mega thanks for this cache Rallyheads
I'm flying out in an hour, so a quick walk after check in.Logbook is damp. Tftc
Catching up on a few logs from last month. Was visiting Mount Gambier for a conference and obviously made time for some caching. We were out at the airport today and thought it was a good idea to grab this one. Pity we hadn't read about the map before we had left the terminal, would have been good to check it out. TFTC Rallyheads, found with au.fait.
Out today with The Robbos 3466 and a muggle friend to gather a few caches. As we were at the airport for a flying competition this cache was on the list Found this in the first place I looked TFTC Rallyheads
With Bee Detective as she was picking up her vehicle. Another quick find.

Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
We ventured across the border to collect our daughter who was flying in from Perth. Amazed how busy this airport it and what a nice set up. We had a bit of time up our sleeves to find the 3 caches in the precinct.
We enjoyed our visit and TFTC

A trip to the South East with Featherwaite for a few days.
We had a great time and found a "few" caches along the way.
Any issues with a specific case will be in Featherwaite's log.

Guardian another precious little one. Worthy of a howl and a shriek. Took me long enough to find this one, pretty sure I sure another cacher (Beaker?!) drive past and I tried to look all calm... but noooo I was doing the oogy boogy spider dance. TYFTC SLTN definitely left the guardian!
Just happened to drop in to mt gambier today, and it was great to grab a cache. Nice history lesson. TFTC.
Sunday. Today's target was to get to Penola for the Celebrating in Penola event and the Plant a Tree- Greenrise CITO event plus a few targeted higher terrian caches and of course any others we passed. The adventure lad caches where also done in Penola even though they weren't on the plan. The weather today was filled with rain off and on but that didn't stop me and Mogni. I was glad we had the 4x4 instead of Mogni car for the trip.
We had some business to do in town today along with ilook4geo, so we stayed local for the day's caching run. On the program was a mix of cache types and we were happy to sign each found log with both names. Many thanks go to Rallyheads for placing this cache, which we enjoyed finding.
Had some fun today with goingplaces2 and after each log was found and signed, all was replaced where it belonged. Thanks go to each CO who added to our fun for the day by placing the caches around the Mount Gambier area.
Great time to sit day and watch some twin props landing - good to see the flying kangaroo in the skies again
SL at 11:10am. Day trip out with DarthVader69. Gotta watch out for those muggle cars driving by. A nice drive around the airport. *Cleaned outside of cache and provided zip lock bag to keep it dirt free. TFTC!
I had a hotel voucher I needed to use which was due to the lockdown last year postponing the Millicent Mega event. This weekend was our best option for travel and with the borders just opening up again a few days before I was worried I would need to postpone the accomodation again. Luckily the border opened and an awesome 3 day trip was made. This would also free up some time for when the Mega is on again in October by collecting a lot of what we wanted to this trip.
After a couple of morning tree climbs and then completing the GV2020 geo-art we headed up this way mainly to do the WhereIGo caches but Fleabag- got distracted and we started on this section of the trad wine glass. While we were here we then also went and found all the WhereIGo caches as well with a couple in fairly obscure locations.
Once the WhereIGo caches were done we headed back to Mt Gambier via a couple of big favourite caches and we found this one while in the airport area.
Thanks Rallyheads for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Spiffy-, my geopartner and I headed over to SA - Milicent. We had hotel vochure to use from the first lockdown and border closure and Labour Day weekend was our best option. We had many puzzles solved and interesting caches to find in this amazing part of Australia.
A few Geoart options so we settled on this one. Some took a few moments and we had 1 tiger snake to deal with plus some farmers that were okay with us looking at their fences after some questioning.
Thanks to Rallyheads for the placement and fun.

Hubby must be on a roll as he beat me to this one, again. I think that I am going to lock him in the car. SL TFTC
Arrived at the airport a little early for GreyHams to fly home so finding a few in the area before. Super windy which for the little planes sounds a but scary... No problems with the find here.
Trip log:
When it comes to our trips for GreyHams and myself, opportunity seems to play a big part in the timings.. be it an event, sales on airfares or car hire, in this case it was my visiting SA and being there that worked so well for this one!
So it was a drive up to Adelaide to collect GreyHams from the airport and then a trip that would see us ending up in Mount Gambier in the South east of SA, close to my family holidaying nearby and conveniently located that GreyHams could fly home to his. Perfect when a plan just comes together!!!
The primary target of the trip was counties, about 21 in total and we had almost the complete opposite need of counties from each other. Of course we also targeted other caches of importance, oldies dominated the state but there was DT, virtuals, webcams, Ausmer and types. If your cache made our list it had a quality we were wanting, or as GH says, we were waiting for a ferry or a plane!
What a variation in the places we visited, from Adelaide's suburbs out into the hills, the ferry across to Kangaroo Island for the night and the many coastal regions through Victor Harbour and Goolwa. Through Murray Bridge and out into Mallee Country to Lameroo before turning and finding a great bed and meal at the Keith Hotel. Continuing South into the very bottom of the SE of SA before returning north slightly to make the plane, in time and that arrived! So much wild life through the areas and locations of interest, it was great!
Had to love the Santas through the Adelaide hills, seems that stuffing a Santa suit is an art form all of its own, and entertained us for a long time! Kayaking to an island on Kangaroo Island was fun and although the donut from Port Elliot bakery had to pass with masses already queueing... the chunky steak pie from Willunga Bakery might not have been as good as a pepper pie later but it was still damn good! Its the little things sometimes!!!
Many thanks for your cache that led us about on a varied and very enjoyable trip!

Quick find before boarding

This trip came together due in the best way! Aquilus1 was over in SE SA visiting family, yet had a bunch of counties unfound between Adelaide CBD and Victor Harbour, I was missing all the counties south & east of Strathalbyn. What could be better than flying over from Canberra and being picked up at ADL airport and knocking of ALL the counties all the way to Mt Gambier, where I flew out. Last minute Covid shenanigans in Sydney & Melbourne threatened to derail it, but all good.
Of course our trips are more than just counties....we have a range of targets: Oldies, webcams/virtuals, larges with challenges and D/T thrown in for fun. If you are reading this log, then this cache had some quality we were hunting (or we were waiting for ferries or planes!)
We saw such a change in countryside, from Adelaide Hills, to Kangaroo Island, up to Borrika and then down to 'the Mount'....and the Santas! I can see areas where christmas lights arent the done thing, its stuffing your own Santa and posing them in the front garden, saw some very funny examples, we were chuckling for an hour I swear.
South Australia has such a wealth of very old caches, its wonderful. We grabbed lots of oldies and are now just a single find off our Ausmer challenges (just need to get to Melbourne or Brisbane for the last).

Now in Millicent and chatting to Sylken last night we learnt of a few possible FTF's so a plan was hatched to head out together today. Wow some of these caches were just as EVIL as described. Even having previous finders was not much of an advantage with these tricky devils. Once back at the car and some sustenance undertaken it was time to tackle some more caches before heading home.
