The cache will still be there. That is guaranteed.
However it is deliberately tricky to find and will have become
Much more tricky with time.

Hi Trigger_Fish

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Regards

Solved this tricky cache before my trip up here. Really liked the puzzle. I had put a personal note to wear long pants and long sleeves but only re-read that when I got near GZ. Figured how bad could it be. Put my jacket on and grab my walking poles (blackberry bashers) and attempted to make it to GZ. Was quite pleased to get there (with some blood loss) but needle in a haystack comes to mind. There’s a tree fallen right next to where I had GZ and a fair bit of gorse to put it mildly. I think the CO should maybe check on this one to make sure it’s still accessible or add a good hint as it’s tricky enough just to get there now and will only get worse.
If you try to look for this I would suggest a team effort with machetes and maybe a chainsaw! The open paddock next door looked very inviting even with the electric fence.
Great view - but you can almost get the same view at road level.

My second attempt here. The place is overgrown in gorse and blackberry which made it a cache not worth pursuing.

Could solve the puzzle quite easily. But at GZ a quite extensive search didn't result in a find Twisted. I only found an abject which could have been covering a cache box [?]

I'ive started my beautiful trip of the South Island in Christchurch, I've visited many beautiful locations. I've travelled via Lake Tapeko, from Dunedin to the most southern part of Bluff. I've then continued with a cruise in Milford Sound and then back to Queenstown.
From there on I've visited Wanaka and the Haast pass to the Franz Josef glacier. I went all the way up to the Abel Tasman NP. Richmond und Nelson as the sonnierst cities were on my list as well.
I've soon reached the east coast in Picton and Blenheim.
After a couple of days, I've then travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura.
I've spent a couple of days in Christchurch and it's surroundings.
I've visited many geological sites and have found many caches along the way.
I've travelled 3500km and have experienced so much.
Thank you to all the owners

I searched and searched but came away empty-handed. My fourth DNFSadSadSadSad for today.

Working out the name of the road and getting the co-ordinates was just a little bit Tricky. The really Tricky part was actually finding the cache. Parked and walked up to near GZ this afternoon. One of us made the final climb, and the other set about gleaning any possible information from previous logs. It has been 17 months since the last find, so no chance of any "geotrail." After a long, extensive and exhaustive search, the searcher stood on something which moved slightly. He bent down to check it out, turned it over, and discovered the cache. SmileBig GrinCool Very pleased to be able to write a Found log on this Tricky Cache. Thanks.

Another great find while making my way to the Mega. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of this trip.

Third try at this one and finally got it. Was spurred on by the encouragement in Troodles & streetwalker's logs. Very tricky and great to get a smiley here today.

No luck for us today. Second time I have been here. was not sure I had right place first time but came back to area again this time so must have. Probably still there but just could not see it among the growing brush and such.

#8356. Another piece of unfinished business sorted out (and with surprising ease given our lengthy search last time). TFTC.

After a DNF nearly four years ago, we were eager to have another look for this tricky cache. Had ascertained that the hide was pretty random and would probably need a grid search in the lush vegetation. Getting to GZ was a little more problematic than last visit as I don't remember the electric fence (which was given a very wide berth) and of course, the gorse had grown substantially.

So our journey to GZ was a little painful as we had to go through the gorse to keep away from the other hazards (long drop on one side and electric fence on the other). Once at GZ, we started the search, using the walking poles. Prod, prod - what's that? The cache. I can't believe it was this easy after our loooong search last time. Couldn't sign the logbook as the container was pretty wet inside but we did take a photo of it. TFTC - I think.

Took the high road, and got to GZ quickly. Took a couple of finds to stumble on the cahe, but find it I did. Found on a weekend trip to the Coast with Kiwi Moose. Thanks for the hide.

This sure was tricky one, but an very enjoyable puzzle when you get the 'aha' moment. And like some other likewise observant finders decided the 'high road' was the better approach which it most certainly was.

Team_Gaters and I have planned a this trip over the last few months. We finally got to the business end of things and kicked off out West Coast raid. We had two days and a lot of boxes to tick. We started at 5am on Saturday morning and it took over 12 hours to get to Greymouth. We drove a lot, walked a lot and had a lot of laughs. We experienced 4 seasons and even contemplated aborting the mission as we were standing in icy cold weather freezing as the rain came pelting down in Arthurs Pass. We encountered matigouri, rosehips, blackberries, brambles, spainairds, baby gorse and old man gorse!!! Still finding parts of prickles in my skin! We also saw kea, weka, cave weta, tree weta, giant slugs, giant spiders in caves, west coasters, fat wood pidgeons, tui and a giant dragon fly. Had wet feet for nearly two days. Three FTFs and on of them was unpublished (first for me).
I made the connection for solving this one quickly and TG and I headed to GZ. Hmm, checked the numbers and I had an 7 where I needed an 8. Headed up the road a bit and TG said it was up there. Hmmm, I headed up since one of the attributes said "difficult climbing". There wasn't too much to hold and the pine had been sprayed and weren't holding onto much. TG said I was nuts and I agree with him but it never stops me. I got half way up and had to sidle a bit and then I heard "hello down there" as I looked up TG found the wheelchair access and made it up in a gentlemanly manner. I made the final push over the top with shakey knees. Now GZ had been sprayed and nothing looked like it could hide a cache. TG happened upon the cache by chance. Phew, glad about that as I didn't want to waste my climb, meathead! Glad to sign the log and it has been a while since the last find more than 2 1/2 years! Hey this would be good for my challenge in Chch, opps.
Awesome weekend. TG and I joked that going back to work would be a bit of a let down, so to combat that we would keep one foot in a bucket of water and the other one on top of a pin cusion, that should ignite the memories.

Thanks for the cache.

Heading to Greymouth with TheWanglers on a caching weekend. Yahoo, Greytown at last. More caches to find. Onwards! TW had done the hard yards. Hit GZ and we scratched our heads - it didn't quite look right. Did't quite fit previous logs. Hmmm. TW did some quick checking and he had a number wrong. Wandered up the road a weeney bit...and soon had GZ in sight. Hmmm. It's been sprayed - not much vegetation up that slop...hang on - how far in front is GZ...5m? hmmmm, vertically thats a fair wack. 'Up there' I say...TW undeterred takes the direct route....'bugger that' I say.....I wander a bit further up the road and saunter easily to GZ....saying a cheery "hiya down there" to TW who was clinging half way up.....he soon joined me on top. Hmmmm. GZ is sprayed & not many hidey holes up here. Where the heck can it be?.......poke poke...prod prod....hmmmm.... I stood at the centre of GZ and pondered our options....and I felt the rock under the mat of dead grass I was standing on move - and it grated on plastic. Wahoooo. Cache found. Clever me. I stood on it Smile. Nothing broken. All good. TW and I then took the easy way back down......peering disbelievingly over the edge to what TW had climbed - and not keen to head back down! ha ha. Thanks for the effort involved in creating the puzzle and placing the cache. Cheers.

GZ seemed to be on an extremely steep and bare hillside. We tried searching at the top, which had more hiding places and seemed to fit with comments made by others (kept getting entangled in nastly brambles and gorse). Many things muttered about Moneydork hides. In the end we admitted defeat.

11-Oct-10
Finally found it Smile We took a pokey stick and some shearers to get revenge on the prickles. Mum and I were determined not to leave without finding it. Book slightly damp. TFTC

Yep tricky, we were it the right place (I believe) but couldnt find the cache. Its not that far from home so we will be back soon.

Solved the tricky puzzle from afar quite some time back and have been waiting the opportunity to sign it off. Got to my GZ today and couldn't find the cache. Stood around and read the logs and found that mention was made of one the variables being changed. Did that happen before or after I had worked out my solution? So, I redid my working and got the same answer. Not wanting to give up just yet, I PAF. He confirmed that my coords were good and wished me luck in my searching. 50 seconds of prodding later with my trusty hiker's poles produced the sound I was wanting to hear. Signed the log as rain once more started to fall. Tick off another puzzle cache from my unfound Greymouth puzzle list. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache. Cheers.

Hi all! Wondering if any one has come across daughter's Sam the Cat TB hidden in the cache?

Tricky alright. Spent a while looking up at GZ trying to see if there was a hidey hole then decided that there must have been a better way. Tried that and after looking in all the wrong places managed to finally find the little blighter. At least it's a pretty scenic spot to be hunting for little plastic boxes. TNLN Thanks,

Found after the 2nd visit after the cache owner showed a rare dropping of the guard and revealed some help... or was he just sorry for us? We'll take it any way they come. TFTC.

With confirmation that we had been in the right spot and a gentle prod in the right direction from the owner what was tricky became a very quick find. TFTC.

Mr KE did the puzzle work, so who knows if we were in the right spot Twisted. Too good for us today. Would love to see its hidey hole.

I would like to think that I stuffed up on the puzzle but I think we just stuffed up on finding the cache. Too tricky today, thanks.

Glad Bitsprayer knew this area as I would have spent hours locating it. Good hiding place a bit unexpected but signed the log eventually
Thanks

2754. We worked on the puzzle at home - then had a few tricky thoughts as we worked out the best way to claim the cache.
We left Sam the Cat TB.

Fortunately we had been saving this one for an on-call weekend and had the company of JemNZ for this little mission.Smile Unfortunately we thought we weren't going to get our fix with gc.com being down yesterday, as we had not printed out the cache page.Sad Fortunately Annie found her random piece of paper with co-ords scribbled on it! Smile Unfortunately, after consulting with caching pals, it was revealed that our co-ords for E were wrong. Sad Fortunately gc.com was back up this morning and we made the needed alteration. Smile Unfortunately,by the time we were able to go look for it, the weather had almost packed up.Sad Fortunately we got there before the rain and the dark, found a good line to take for access, and made an easy find once reaching GZ. We were also entertained by a fantail flitting around and checking out what we were up to.Smile
TNLN TFTC!

Second attempt for me. Couldn't find the right way to GZ the first time and was worried bout the possible route. Came back today with Annie and PB to see if they had the same numbers. Turned out they did and we found a safe route to the GZ. Spotted the hide from 10m away. Amazing views in both directions, the snow capped mountains in the south were visible even as the cloud came in.

Tricky enough, but not too tricky. Thank goodness for GoogleEarth - be much harder for us out of towners without it. Thanks.

Replaced broken container.

13-Jun-09
The lid on the cache has been smashed - it's in lots of little pieces - and container cracked.

13-Jun-09
Tried a few approachs on this one today and still ended up a good 400m away before being denied by private roads. Returned to where we originally thought it would be and J sat and relooked at the questions, made some calculations and came up with a slightly different answer. It seems E had a slight calculation change since it was posted (we had copy and pasted the questions into GSAK to work out the answers). Upon realising this the new co-ords were in and we were only 50m away. Planned a path to it and cache was in hand immediately.

We will mention though that the lid on the cache has been smashed and container cracked (possibly found at some stage) but contents were still there. Took the geocoin.

Thanks for another puzzle! Smile

Awesome rewarding cache! Cool concept. Very tricky indeed. The puzzle is a good challenge, as well as finding it too. The find brought a grin to our faces, Big Grin as we could see that there had been some visitors to the area recently.
We were toying with the idea of, saving this cache, for a rainy day in the middle of winter. We tend to hibernate a little bit in the colder month, but this puzzle was to good to resist, on a beautiful West Coast day. Took FTF braggers coin. TFTC
