Didn't find it. Looked in the obvious two places but no luck. With no logs for a few months I'm thinking this may be gone.
Nice, quick drive-by. Looked ahead in the direction the GPSr was taking us and thought, 'that's the obvious spot', but it wasn't! Co-ords were spot on and cache revealed. Enjoyed the mangroves at low tide and mozzie free! A successful caching day! SLTN TFTC
No swamp monsters were seen today as we made out way through the swamp area to get to GZ - it was a pleasant walk. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thaks for bringing us to an interesting area MadStars and thanks for the cache.
After a swampy search and wondering if we would really see a swamp monster - Mr 7 found it! Thanks!!
Found by Mary & David at 1700. What a perfect name for this cache. Mangroves fascinate us - primeval, primitive, prehistoric, and just plain eerie. Glad the tide was out. Our thanks to MADSTARS.
Found by my trip around the world. Now i'm eventual in Australia, my favorite continent and country.
When i stayed in Nelson Bay, one day was reserved for caching, this was number 4 on my short list.
Beware of the moscitos. They need only one second to find me [:(!]
After that my way is up to the north of new south wales. Next stop Taree
no trade
thanks for the cache

P.S. Unser Leihmaskottchen, Travelbug Rascal the little racoon, war natürlich wieder mit auf der Tour, auch wenn es noch kein Ziel von der Aufgabenliste zu erreichen gibt.

A lazy day around Nelson Bay with Bettyboo, and then in the afternoon a short ride down to Fingal Bay.
The tide was well out when we arrived so we saw no Swamp Monsters, or so we thought.
After we signed the log we noticed the real Swamp Monsters - the Mozzies! They were vicious! We made a dash for it.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 4434. Robmc and I stopped to pick this one up. We had driven past it several times yesterday with Pprass. We were almost carried away by the real swamp monsters, as Rob mentioned. TFTC
Walked in the early morning from my hotel to find some caches. No entry point given so followed the needle and did some bushwalking!!!Nice fun.

Fortunately the monster from the deep was replaced by the beauty of the mangrove swamps. An easy find. Tftc.
Thanks for the hunt Madstars,
Really loved the location it reminded me of some of my fav fishing spots.

I think we must of upset the swamp monster, just as we were signing and finishing off the heavens opened up and we found ourselves in the heaviest downpour you could imagine. It wasn't far to the car but we both returned drenched. One to remember. SL..TFTC
Not creepy but very wet day. Cache was fine. Would be a great spot on a fine day. TFTC JenneG &Budgy Nowra
Another good cache located while on holiday in the area.
No monsters located today.
Signed log here then on to the next one!

My first ever cache in mangroves.
The GPS decided it was going to chick a hissy fit and only give coordinates from on the road so luckily saw it from 20m as coords never got within 59m.
Tftc tnln nice box

Lovely day, enjoyed around some caches at Port Stephens, Lucky very low tides as walk through well and easy to find and cache dry well thanks
With hardly any blood left after surviving mosquito attacks at 'Monopoly' and 'At the root of it' we tackled this one. Parked nearby and after a short walk towards and along the swamp we made the find.
Thanks for the cache MADSTARS!

If it wasn't for geocaching, I would of overlooked this little spot. Great hiding spot. TFTC
Andy, Sarah and james found the Swamp Monster! Went out at low tide, approached from the wet side... was quite an adventure. Easy to find, and in good condition. Swapped plastic figures.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Nice walk through the mangroves to the cache. Very friendly mozzies here. SL TFTC.
We ventured toward Nelson Bay with DiMorgan for a good day of caching. The weather was overcast but quite pleasant. We had a list of caches to wanted to find and this was one of them. This is such a scenic part of the coast which makes caching most enjoyable.
Thanks to MADSTARS.
Thanks to MADSTARS.
We have spent the day geocaching with Liz & Bruce. Headed to beautiful Nelsons Bay where we saw
wonderful beaches, sand dunes & crystal blue water. Found many caches along paths & trails. A very successfull day of caching.

Great place to hide. I got tired after all the caches we did earlier on the bikes with EDTAM26 so I got ride home with Geodad after this cache. TFTC.
30/09/12 12:09 PM. Cache #131. 10th one in a 2-hour 15-cache frenzy while holidaying up here on the long weekend. We used to come up here as kids and stayed 2 doors down from a swamp monster. Cache is nicely high n dry.
The fifth and final cache on the morning cycling tour. Techno Marksman called for the support vehicle at this point which allowed me to power home and get the heart rate up. No monsters sighted but maybe they only come out at low tide! TFTC
Inadvertently came at low tide so had no problems getting to the GZ! Nice little spot for it, cheers
Another day of caching around Corlette and Salamander Bay.
A nice walk among the trees here and an easy find despite my GPSr insisting it was much further along the track.TN left 1952 penny. Thanks MADSTARS.

Parked near the entrance to the track that leads to the GZ. Low tide so the walk to the cache was dry.

We liked it here and no mozzies! Maybe smelling like a campfire is a natural repellant. Thanks Madstars.
At first sight this area did not look great but improved as we neared a rather obvious GZ for a find. Thanks for a good hide, we enjoyed it.
Loved this one, was a bit put off by the description and being in boggy wet fields for an early cache but what a great spot and too wet after all the rain. TFTC
First of a few caches for the day with geofamily. The family found the title a bit dubious, so I went in quickly and grabbed the cache. Easy find and a nice spot.

Inoculated ourselves with Bushman's before we took the plunge!. Nice cache guarded by angry mozzies!
No swamp monsters to be seen, but hundreds of monster mozzies, ouch! SL,TNLN, TFTC (we think)
Found at 11.50am.
Don't stand still too long as the mossies will eat you alive.
Must have good blood to do this cache.
Easy find & still dry after all the rain.
Took stingray.
Left Abbey Chace Toy.
TFTC (but not the mossies)

Swamp mozzie not swamp monster. The mozzies were attacking in squadrons as we found the cache, log signed we ran away. Thanks for the cache
Far out, the mozzies were insane here today. We soon parked, walked and had the cache in hand. Blackie_71 DNF'ed this one last visit, so this was a good one to cross off the list for him
Cheers from Browngang

I enjoyed the walk through the mangroves to this one, and once at GZ, bikerbuddy made a quick find.
Thanks Madstars [:).
Thanks Madstars [:).
This was a very easy find next to the mangrove swamp with bedawn and Toriaz. Thanks
Real swamp monster conditions... tide was up, heavy rains, overcast and lots of stormwater discharge from the other side of the road

Only find for the day, had to be done before the 0700 start to the day at the resort. thanks for the walk. T4TC
Really quick find, might have been the uneasy feeling of being watched and the threat of imminent attack by the a fore mentioned MONSTER. TFTC.
This cache became a pipe dream as I drove past on the wrong side of the road and by the time I returned I was wet and the storm clouds were still looming. A quick walk down to GZ and the swamp monster was revealled.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Mr horsey and two youngest geokids set out for this one. Found in obvious spot. SL Took car and left helicopter. TFTC.
Nice hide but there was no sign of the Swamp Monster! Maybe it was watching my every move from its lair.... TFTC!
Found with bedmaker.
A nice little walk through the swamps to find this one.
