we wont be down this way for a few weeks so this cache is disabled for the moment
While I was in town I came looking for this cache...and gave up after reading the previous logs. It either needs to be fixed or archived.
Two needs maintainen logs and a funny found log and still no action from the CO. I'd it time for this one to go?
We found an empty container at the east end of trough but no lid or contents. This cache may need maintenance
Pretty sure this is all that remains. Please let is know if this is not what your container was.
After leaving Mount Gambier we had heard so much about the wooden sculptures at Dartmore that we just had to stop and take a look. A campspot nearby made a wonderful base for the day and as it turns out night too.
We ate lunch in the park and then set out to explore the town. The sculptures were well worth viewing but wait here is something we hadn't expected. This cache is just what geocaching is all about to us, something we wouldn't have otherwise seen.
It took us a while to actually locate the cache but located it we eventually did.
thanks UdderChaos

Found today in the company of Cookemonsters and & others . Today as we were all part of a square dance excursion to Dartmoor when we finished lunch we all wandered across the road to locate this one. We had looked at this once before but it was very wet and we were in a hurry so had not been back since although we had driven by many times. Today again getting an accurate GZ was difficult and when Mrs80 was on the high side the sign post was spotted and Mrs&others retrieved. We all signed and wandered back to join the rest of our group. TFTC
We are Touring Australia but ever since we learnt of this event back in August we have been trying to manouevre our way to make it to todays event. Took a bit of adjustment as we should have left Mt Gambier a week ago so some rejigging saw it a must from us.
Right from the moment we saw the cache page and the info this looked like a professionally run FUN event, something we just had to be a part of.
We packed our house on wheels this morning as we planned to move to Victoria after the event, then raced off to grab a few caches before the event (surprise)
We didn't get back to the house until nearly 3pm then it was a dash to Dartmoor. House and cat dropped off it was time to explore town. This was our first stop and a great historical spot for a cache. Nice to meet you today and

Found with Highrod and Frog_Lady and the way home to Ballarat after a great weekend of caching in the Mount. Thanks for the cache
3723 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1200 on our way towards the east. When you think about the engineering done by the people of yesteryear it makes you think of how would they show us how to in this day and age. A great cache and a favourite from us.SL Tnx
What a lovely location. Great place to camp and lots of interesting things to see. SL TFTC
Heading off to Victoria to travel the Great Ocean Road on Sunday with mogni. Better get some caches along the way. Some more amazing carvings to admire and another cache. Thanks UdderChaos.
Stopped at Dartmoor on our way to Mt Gambier. Found with geokids while admiring the wood carvings along the street. Interesting system for a water trough. TFTC udderchaos.
Looked for this one on my journey home from Carpenter Rocks, SA. GPS was jumping all over the place and a group of muggles were also enjoying the carvings. Had a quick look but really needed to make tracks home. Thanks for bringing me to see these works of art, they're fabulous.
An interesting water trough and lots of interesting wooden carvings. My GPS had GZ about 17mts away. TFTC.
The coordinates are off by about 20 meters. If I had not found the concrete block I never would have found the cache.
I flew into Melbourne on Sunday, rented a vehicle and am driving to Oz Mega in Murray Bridge. Of course I am trying to find some caches along the way.
Today, Tuesday, is is my second day of caching in Australia. This is my first caching trip south of the Equator, so I am finally getting some S's to go with all my N's. And this is my first caching trip east of the Prime Meridian, so I am finally getting some E's to go with all my W's. (My trips to Europe and Asia were before I took up geocaching.) Thanks for the cache. This cache is my find number six (6) for the day, and find number nineteen thousand three hundred ninety two (19392) overall.
May all your days bring you more smiles than frowns . May your year 2014 be better than your year 2013 was.

Decided to camp at Dartmoor for the night and find the local caches. What an interesting device, I have never seen one of these before. The cache was not in its hide but about 2 metres away, looks like it might have been washed out, so I replaced it and covered again.
Thanks to UdderChaos for this cache

Failed at this one a year ago, spotted quickly this time. Just as mesmerized by this tranquil little spot as the first time I was here. Tftc sl tnln
Dartmoor seems a very quiet place on a weekend at least, but it is a very nice little town with interesting sights and this place is one of them. TFTC
The horses were at the trough nearby when I arrived
Following an inspection of the other artworks, I wandered down the hill to GZ to see what the fluming noise was [:o]
The sound of running water
Lots of crystal clear running water !!
Wandering around, I must have almost stepped on the cache a few times before I finally looked behind me and saw it
Somebody appears to be camping/living about 30 metres from GZ, but they were not a problem
Thanks for the cache. art and history [^]

Now on the homewards leg of my southern road trip, and as I was travelling solo, caching along the way. This was a very interesting location and one I would have missed if it wasn't for the cache. The water looked potable, its a wonder someone isn't bottling it. Thanks UdderChaos for the cache
Rated: for Overall Experience
Found no worries after waiting for keen photogragher to finish various shots of flume and trough. Great sculpture as well. Thx Udderchaos for the hide.
Didn't even know this art was here! Lovely spot! We will come back another weekend to find some other caches! TFTC
Found on the trip from a weekend in Mt Gambier back home to Ballarat, I grabbed this one after doing the nearby Waymark & Virtual Cache, thanks for bring me here to see another interesting feature in Dartmoor

# 2817. Robmc and I were heading from Mt Gambier to Port Fairy and gathering a few caches along the way.
Have never visited this place before - someone has sure been busy doing chainsaw art here. Very interesting. The flume was amazing and this cache gets a favourite point from me for that alone. Our GPS's were reading 13 metres out here and we only found it because of the hint. TFTC UdderChaos.

Finished all my diving at Mt Gambier, time to grab a few caches with Bettyboo3747 on the way back home.
We have been to Dartmoor before and seen many of the sculptures, but we hadn't been this far out of town. Great sculptures.
A very interesting object near GZ. Not sure if the horses nearby really need it now.
Thanks, Robmc.

Sunday at BLE and Huurtle, Dennisc52 and I set off to replace a cache which had been lost in the recent bushfires
There were a few caches on the way and, luckily for me, the boys were happy to head for Dartmoor where a couple of months ago in 40 odd degree heat while riding my motorbike back from Halls Gap I had stopped briefly, seen the nearby caches and just been too darn hot and tired to get any...... so today was the day [^]
Later on, we met up with Honeysucker and firesafe and continued caching until well after dark: 4WDing on dirt roads, beaches and through the forests [^]
A HUGE day of attempting 47 caches: 45 successful locus cache events [^] and only 2 DNFs
To see a set up like this and then contrast this to merely turning on a tap and having running water makes me respect even more those brave people who lived in an age where fresh drinking water could not be bought in a bottle at every shop.
Love the artwork, too

Today, the lemmykc clan went on a little roadtrip up to Adelaide. We accidentally took 10.5hrs to get there instead of 7hrs, probably because of all the caches we did along the way .The day wasn't devoted to caching yet I still managed to find about 20 all up. This was the 5th find of 20 for the day.
After completing the long-awaited virtual just nearby, we came over here to make a quick find on this one. I hopped out of the car and ran down to where the GPS was pointing. After walking around in circles for a few minutes, I uncovered the nice cache. Logbook signed, we were back on the road towards Adelaide.

I love it when towns do things like this. We saw something similar in Tasmania. There are some great sculpting. We camped near by, but waited till the cooler morning to retrieve this one Tftc
We put some paper in a plastic bag on top of the wet log, so you can sign The lid was on but it did have water in, so we emptied the water out.
As my log says, this will need looking at after being filled with water.
Either it was Mugggled or not replaced correctly.
The log book is unusable.

we had so much fun in this aerea! we came just by chance, looking for some caches along our way to the GOR. thank you for showing us this place! (we put one dollar in the machine and it was hillarious...!) greetings from switzerland
We where passing through Dartmoor. Needing a stop we saw the virtual and a couple of traditions we could grab.
The work at the Virtual (Wooden Work 8 - Lest We Forget) is certainly interesting and a fitting tribute. We had an interesting read and look before grabbing a coffee locally. TFTC
After our coffee it was a short drive to Fluming Horeses which again had some very interesting and creative sculptures. It was very muddy and wet under foot on the way down to the cache and we had to be careful not to slip over. The co-ords had us out in the open so we went for the hint. After a bit of a wider search we found the cache about 12m from our GZ so our advise is use the hint and look in the obvious places. Interesting to see the old flume. We completed the signing duties and moved on. TFTC
We appreciated the view from up top with Darty View. The dirt track up was a little slippery and challenging in the 2WD but we got up and down ok. We saw a few roos on the track and at the look out before we made an easy find in the obvious spot. With the signing duties completed and the cache re hid it was time to move on again. TFTC

Driving from Robe to Warrnambool grabbing a few caches along the route.
Dartmoor is a wonderful small place and should be on everybody's tour route.
Cache location is wonderful and after widening our search to 12m we had it in hand.
The flume is a great piece of work. We left a pen that works and removed one that does not work.
Took geocoin.

This was a really interesting stop on our travels around the area. A visit to the Waterfall Gardens then back to Dartmoor to find this cache. I have never seen a horse flume before and to see this one from a natural spring was great. We followed the stream back for a while, but of course could not find the start. TFTC and the interesting park with the flume and the wood carvings.
Wow what a really cool place for Geocaching to take us to. If there wasn't a cache here we would have driven right by without noticing it. Cache found and log signed and cache put away again.
