Another one encouraging walking off track. This is terrible. We are supposed to be responsible people. Poor Kauri. I fear for them if we continue with this.
My phone kept telling me i was in the right spot. But no search everywhere but there. Lol. Then I spot a hint item and oh my phone was right. Needs a new container. Tftc
Paused as someone walked past. This enables use to stand back and think of likely locations. Was soon in hand
A very tricky one, we must have looked everywhere except the right place and initially conceded defeat but we found it on our second attempt about half an hour later as we returned from our walk. Whew.
As the previous finder has said the bottom of the container is broken so the inside is quite wet.
TFTC.

Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Log was very wet and I'm talking about the cache. The container also has a broken bottom. Tftc!
Having a walk around this track now that it is reopened with Bennett24 and thewonderstuff. Another cache found here - the container is a little bit damaged and didn't have a suitable replacement but it is reasonably dry where the cache lives so it should be alright and we were careful to sign the log and replace back in its ziplock bag so it has a good chance of staying dry. Thanks for the cache, all good here.
We were looking to do this reserve quite a while ago but then found it had been closed due to Kauri Die Back so had to shelve those plans. Recent Tuolei mentioned about doing the track now that it had been opened again so we decided to get together with TheWonderStuff and do the loop track that took us up the Goldies Bush track to the waterfall and then down the Mokoroa stream track. The stream track proved quite challenging at times with a few areas of rock climbing and some very slippery areas to negotiate as we crossed the stream many times.
We found 24 caches in all and most of them were signed as Team BTTWS.
A few places to look here again and GPS was a little bouncy; thewonderstuff made the find here after we split up to search a few areas. All good here, TFTC.

This track is officially open and we are enjoying the fact it is nice and shady on this HOT day. Log is wet but still signable dried it out as best we could. TFTC
Couldn't find this a couple of years ago but a quick find today. The bottom of the container is broken but the log book is OK. TFTC
GPS in here was more than crazy. I don`t why. Had to change batteries in my device. When it was done cache was in had quick. I was searching first 30-40 meters from GZ! I don`t know why. First time ever had this situation. TFTC
There's a spider eggs sack and spider living happily in this cache.....and notebook is mouldy....
Sunday trip with the whole family. We started at The Goldie Bush Walkway parking and followed the track. The wife and the oldest (SikoSako) turned around just over half way and went back for the car, while Vic07, Gulla04 and me continued to the Horsemans road parking lot.
I managed even to find two of the caches towards the waterfall, that we passed last time we were here
Two dnfs: GC6ENVF "People in People In Parks Explore, look around.". Hmm not many items corresponding to the hint here... GC1RQVK: Bridge No More Lookout (Auckland). I see now that there is a spoiler picture - maybe it is there...
Left two bugs in Glyn's Goldies Rest that was surprisingly dry for once.
But all in all a very nice trip, also geocaching-wise. 14 finds!
Signed as SH++ on the small logs, to signify the whole group (Vic07, Gulla04, SikoSako and me)
Tftc!

#185 many options here but it didn't take too long to find it, took longer to extract it! Despite the hole in the container it is doing well, log is delicate but definitely usable! TFTC
Making the most of a great day by heading out to Goldie Bush with evilno9 and TheMexican. This one took a bit of searching, but eventually we had the cache in hand. TFTC
Quite a few logs around but Super nanny turned up this cache very quickly for the team, log is still dry despite container condition, cheers for another cache out here (:
This didn't take too long for supernannny to find. Luckily the log was still dry even with the hole in the bottom of the cache container. Signed as G17.
Luckily I found the correct log straightaway at GZ!
The cache had a hole in the bottom ....sorry I didn't have a spare container on me ..... All dry inside though

Today was the day to tackle the caches in Goldies Bush, a trail that has been on our "To Do" list for a very very long time now. We were joined by KirsTim, supernanny, yorkshirekiwi83, aiden29 and NZWashers (for the first half). Another quick find here, nice and straightforward. Signed the log as "G17" (group 2017) in commemeration of the New Year. Thanks for the hide.
Inspired by our geocaching adventures yesterday we thought we would head off for another one today
PhantasmNZ and his family were keen to come along for the fun, so we organised to have a car at each end of the walkway so we could do the shorter loop walk.
This one took a bit of a hunt to find the right culprit, but found it in the end.
Unfortunately we didn't have any electrical tape in the geocache bags to put across the hole in the bottom of the container (we'll add some in for future adventures!) but log book and contents are all still dry so container is well protected from the elements for now.
Signed log as Team PLFM (PhantasmNZ, Loz47, Furbies, MiningSimmerNZ)

Well we didn't export any logs, but we did add our names to this log.... Fairly easy find, Thanks to the team who maintain the caches on this walkway.

Hint got this in the bag for me, thank you Glyn for all the caches you placed along this great loop and just under a dozen km from where I live, Tftc
A tricky wee find as there were a number of search options, but perseverance yielded what I was looking for. *TFTC G--2, #9274*
#2431. I was spending the week out in west Auckland doing some work at my study site. But also had a few dot days in early July so needed to get some geocaches each day. Fortunately I had a rental car this trip so was able to spend a couple of hours late each afternoon picking up some nearby caches after work. The trail of geocaches in Goldies Bush caught my eye so headed over here to pick up a few. This one was the trickiest find of the day. By the time I got here the sun had set and the forest was very gloomy. Almost like night-caching without a torch. Well there were a lot of objects that fitted with the title so felt around amongst them all. But finally spied one I had overlooked previously and there was the well hidden cache. The log was signed and the cache returned as found. No chance of getting anymore caches today on this loop. So high-tailed it back out to the car before it was find your way home using braille. Thanks for the cache.
GPSr was not cooperating. I was on the other side of the trail when a teammate found the cache. Nifty hiding spot. Cache container's bottom is broken, but it seems to keep itself dry in its location. TFTC.
We had to check out a few potential export possibilities here but it didn't slow a Team our size for long. tftc
Our team of 10 exported ourselves to this area, I think we have covered more than 50m though to get here. After a brief search I think it was pazzabella who found the imported object in the exported log. I think the hole in the bottom of the cache is deliberate. Cheers G.
There were plenty of places to look for this one but with a team our size the cache couldn't go unfound for 2 long. Pazzabella was the finder and also found a hole in the bottom of the container but it didn't seem to be affecting the log which was still nice and dry.
Nice to get a smiley for this one, after failing to find it last time ('cos we didn't have a GPS). A bit of searching required before pazzabella pulled the log from the log. Another great find for Team CCC.
Pazzabella found the cache, loved the cache title! a few decoy items where searched until we got the right one, but with so many hands/eyes it could not stay hidden for long. The container has a hole in its base, but the contents are dry
Our group met at a nearby event, now walking around Goldie Bush - pazzabella, jag50, jacksonz, merlot58, gorby, agazo, rustynz, fire-mansam, ivss_xx and harisree - all logs signed as "Team CCC"

Agazo, fire-mansam, Gorbygorbachov, harisree, ivss_xx, Jacksonz, Jag50, merlot58, pazzabella, rustynz
Big gaping hole in the container but the quality export log does a very good job at protecting here - logbook all dry.
Thanks for the cache!

Found it as part of team CCC. plenty of export logs here to search for.. we all were looking at different ends and finally pazzabella spotted the right one. tftc.

Came and did this loop about a year ago but by the time I got to here I was using a headlamp to follow the path, a quick half-hearted search was done but it was decided it was best to head for home. This cache would have to wait for another day. Today was such day. Found as part of the CCC event.
Ha! Couldn't see the photo on our gps, so it was a bit harder to find, especially because the GPS days where a bit confusing - still successful in the end. Thank you for hiding!
Like other caches today the GPS was bouncing a lot for this one, so after a fairly lengthy search I finally found it yay! As per other logs there is a hole in the bottom of the container, TFTC!
Out with a couple of family muggles from the UK for an 'afternoon'walk. Did the whole circuit of Goldies Bush track then Mokoroa Stream Track with the numerous stream crossings. First deep crossing a couple of us took our shoes off but by the end just waded through. Had to deal with the squelchy shoes though. We made the mistake of going up high after the first river crossing, then had to pick our way back down a steep bank....stay low! Nice easy find, cache still relatively dry
My main caching objective for today was a walk around Goldie's Bush. An easy stroll I thought - lol - I was definitely Mr No Prep here as I hadn't noticed the terrain ratings of a few of the caches and didn't realise just how 'adventurous' the section of track between the bridge and the waterfall would be. Anyway it was all good fun in the end. This one took a bit of searching. Found it in the 2nd or 3rd feature I checked. As noted by previous logger, the bottom of the container is cracked and has a big hole in it. Contents OK for now. TFTC, Biggles.
Not in the most obvious spot and the cache has a hole in the bottom - still dry at the mo
2nd stop of the day on my adventure through Goldies track. A quick find here TFTC
A great day caching along the loop track. Found this one on the way back to the carpark. It needs a bit of TLC as the cache base is breaking up. TFTC!
Such a nice day outside I couldnt stay inside..went for a late afternoon walk in goldies bush. Arrived at gz and had a look around until i found 'the one' with the cache snugly intact. It does have a hole in the bottom though, but has managed to stay dry. lovely birdsong around this afternoon. Thanks!
Couldnt find this one on my way through after looking for ages so left it for my return trip. On my return I look for ages again then gave up, put my pack on and started to head of, saw another log I hadnt checked so gave it one more go. Yah, there it was. CACHE REALLY NEEDS REPLACING. Ulifted the TB
Quick look for this but no luck today, had to keep moving to catch up to the rest of the group.
Out with Lokky1 for a bit of bush caching. The day started a bit wet but turned into a beautiful day to be out. There was a few logs to look at, because the GPS was a little unsettled under the tree cover. Got there in the end though. TFTC
out with 10centnz for a bit of bush bash n rock climbing, Gps all over place here with a few options to check but waited for phone to settle again and said within 2 mtrs of were I am so after a short look around soon spotted the cache log full n wet, dropped a TB in there too, Tftc
Had a day off so decided to visit Goldie Bush and hike the loop track while the weather was good. The falls were very impressive and spent a little while there admiring them. I then hit the Mokoroa Stream track which was a lot of fun, it was a challenge just trying not to slip over. Once I was back on the Goldie Bush Walkway track I started missing the steam and mud as soon as the gravel track started but overall a great hike, will definitely come back here again and maybe do the loop the other way.
Worked off the hint and the cache name. Cache was located quickly, the container is damaged though so might need a replacement container. TFTC.

Big day of geocaching was planned. I'm sending this now that I'm home - reception not so good but my handheld gps = amazing. Thanks for an awesome cache in a cool trail - although now my whole body hurts!
A great cache and cunning clue. The clue was initially deceptive but quite obvious when you think about it. The real hint is in the cache name.
I decided to visit Goldie Bush today and collect some caches in this area. The last time I had been through this are was a long time ago during an Adventure Race. So in the spirit of good memories I decided to run/walk these trail again. This cache was a straight forward find. TFTC!
I didn't feel very comfortable going so far from the track, aren't we supposed to stay on the track to protect the Kauri trees?
Nice day out today with the little one who walked the complete length of the trail! Great hide, TFTC
I love the unique moitsure solution that was chosen for this one. I checked a couple of places before spotting the hide, and soon had the cache in hand. There is a pretty good hole in the bottom of it, and the moisture solution has long since swollen to its capacity. I don't mind admitting that it gave me a bit of a shock! TFTC! NINO.
I came out here after the Mega for a bit of bush caching, (after all the urban caching!) and also to try to find the Postcards to New Zealand final. Lovely walk, and I must've been lucky as I found it first go.

Showed a friend the waterfall inlducing a nice picknick at the lookout and he gave me enough time to find 4 caches today in the park. I will be definitive back when the weather gets better to collect the rest... TFTC
Almost a driveby Glyn? ! We had a lovely day being out in the sun although the track is looking a little muddy at this time of the year. Mr Fuzzy went A-over and looked hilarious with a big brown mud patch on his bum!
Thanks for bringing us to this spot Glyn and for getting us out of the house on a cold winter's day.

Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We had wanted to do the Goldie Bush/Mokoroa Stream tracks for a while now and without anything else planned for the day, we made the decision to head out to Goldie Bush for the day. A nice straight forward find here. Container contained a feminine hygiene product, which seemed strange – but at least the container was dry! Thanks for the cache!

Hmmm....had 2 goes at this, one on the way down, one on the way back. But no joy. Need to check more ends!
A great hide. Container was nice and dry. We had fun trying to find it. The clue was great and we just had to be patient in looking. I had my hand right up the end of a log like it was going to give birth. I had gloves and everything.
Wow, it’s been a long day, I think I'm cooked and my kids are getting really tired after doing the loop track down along the stream. They just want to get back and it’s now up to me to carry even their packs and do all the cache finding and logging. Honestly, I’m drawing a blank on how this cache is fairing. Sorry about that. My practice it to make a note on the smartphone of the cache condition if something is wonky, but no note for this one. So it must be OK. Cheers.
Had my eye on this circuit for a while. Manage to team up with mattandjax today to complete this awesome walk with great weather.
This one took a wee while but the export log was eventually found and our names imported on that.

ah finally.. just think the last time a whole crowd of us looked i stood less than a metre from it facing away.. and never looked back.. found it this time on my own.. awesome hide!
Well, who's a silly daddy then. Out for a bush walk here, and forgot to load the caches on the GPS. And when I grabbed our geocaching kit as we headed out the door, I didn't check that the geocaching notebook was in it (where we'd written up these caches last time we were in the area without the GPS). So we had nothing to go on except an X on a topo map. No size, no description, no hint, not even a Cache Name !
However, we managed to find "There Is Gold Under That Board Walk" so I was able to pace out to this one. Ended up beside a sizeable stump which had a number of good places for hiding a geocache. but to no avail. Searched a few other spots in the vicinity, but no luck with this one. Will have to re-try - but with it actually loaded on the GPS .

Quick find as I try to stay infront of the group I am walking with. None of them are into it and just dont get it.
Found this one on the return leg from clearing off a cache out in the area that I have been working on for quite a while. I knew that this one was in the area and jogging back towards where the car was I pulled out the iphone and stopped to check how far away I was from it. Oops, nine meters back. So I backtracked and it was in the second spot I looked. Nice hide for this one. I signed it off and returned it to its home. TFTC!
Yup... this was definitely a matter of eventually finding the right one. Which seemed impossible at first! SO many options! And such a huge area!!
Now came in the advantage of having so many people! Did a bit of a look under everything, and soon one of the girls had the cache in hand! This called for 'ooh'-s and 'ahh'-s, and 'wow'-s from everybody! They seemed to really find this caching thing interesting!
I think finding this one would have taken me about 10 times as long alone! There really is just so many spots!!
And wow, turns out this was number 650!! The last 50 have been so fast! This is what having a car does to you! Wow! Now I remember why I'd originally decided it was absolutely necessary to have one!

Good hide. Have to be right on top of it to see it, though there were only a couple of options here.
Took a little while to find this one but got there. Just a matter of finding the right one. TFTC!
Very good idea for this cache. My 11th on the day. TFTC.

Found it after a while walking there and back through the mud around... My GPS reception wasn't very good
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Made this the last cache along this track. So much mud and the "daylight" along this track had turned very day-dark, making mud walking quite difficult. Almost needed the head torch it was so dark! So decided to turn back and finish up for the day. Best decision all day and no sooner had I returned to the main track to go back up to the carpark, the rain just belted down, torrential. So glad I hadnt continued on for a couple of extra caches as the track would have been a river of mud! Good timing I guess. TFTC, liked the placement.
