Good Day,
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Looking forward to hearing from you,

Visiting Charleville for a few days, and today, we bought the Charleville Audio Heritage Trail, Walking and Driving. Got up to track No 31 on tour the tour, and found us at a great geocache site. What a shame there were not more caches along this interesting trail. They could be combined. Thanks CowboyMacca
With some time to kill we opted for a drive (in aircon) out to this one. Read the sign and then quickly found the cache - thanks.
Leaving Charleville behind I stopped to find this cache. An easy find before continuing on to Roma. TFTC.
Our Daughter and SIL invited both sets of InLaws to a road trip to Longreach. This was the third day of the trip. We were to meet the other two cars and passengers in Charleville. TFTC
What an interesting history - they certainly did it tough in those days! Thanks Cowboymacca.
We left Adelaide a week ago looking for the warmer weather, however we traveled in the rain for two days.
But today it had all cleared to a bright sunny warm day.
Drove out for a quick find and sign.

Detour around Australia- family of 6 in a camper trailer for 6 months!
After missing this one yesterday as we drove into town, we went back today to pick it up, and we were curious about the old ruins so it was worth the little drive! Thanks for bringing us to this interesting piece of history!

Good quick one TFTC. Only 2 caches in Charleville, a few more would. be appreciated.
A quick find after deciding to stay in town for another day for some extra R & R. We say the weather ballon launched this morning then called in for a photo of the Steiger Vortex guns on the way out to this cache. SL. Thanks to CowboyMacca for the cache.
2305# TFTC out and about with muggle sister and Shabby62 what a great night we had yesterday went to the observatory and Cosmos Center worth the money to see the moon so close
#7302 - 15:50; Day 28 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. After attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs and then heading north to Darwin, we are now headed for home. We spent the night in Barcaldine and collected a last handful of caches around the town before heading south for Charleville caching our way through Blackall, Tambo, and Augathella. Most of the caches we located were in good order, including this one which we headed out to collect before going to the campsite to set up. TFTC CowboyMacca
13762. Next find of Day 18 of the Red Centre Experience Roadtrip. Heading South through QLD into NSW.
I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.
Next stop for the day. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.

Heading down from Mt Isa after a trip to Alice for the Mega and then to Darwin with fitzy_1965, LuckyL10n and albida33.
Grabbed a good number of caches along the way, with the odd DNF thrown in. A couple of days of fun caching. Most logs were signed ALFS to save space on the logs.....
Thanks to all the caches owners for the caches and the fun in grabbing them.

Reperio at 1310.
After spending a great weekend at The Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs, it was time to head home to Newcastle going via Queensland. On a long drive today, this was a great little spot to stop. No doubt I would have driven by and wondered what the old structures were had it not been for the cache, but it was interesting reading the information here.
Gratias CowboyMacca.

Staying the night in Charleville, hoping to do the observatory later tonight, what better way to kill some time?

Easy to locate. Container had a number of paper items including business cards that were wet and water damaged. Geocaching log and instructions were protected as they were inside ziplock bag. Left a duck for next geocacher. Great fun.
We found the cache and disturbed a big old billy goat that was munching on leaves!
Off on an outback adventure, well actually on our way home from Cape York and beyond, going home always sucks! We stopped in town for lunch and I wanted to find this one so hubby went out of his way to get me close. Although not here I was really interested in the Vortex gun display in town, amazing what the old timers used to try!
TFTC and sorry for the very late log it wasn't til lI was going through the map that I realised this log hadn't been sent.

Called into the outback town of Chinchilla, after a visit to the Cosmo Centre we called by these ruins on the way home. Read the information on the plaque before searching for the cache.

Love to stop at heritage sites to discover local history.. thankyou for bringing us here. SLTSLS and have taken tb Buzby to continue on his way..(No sign of the other TB listed on inventory ).
Spending a few nights in Charleville while we discover the area.
We headed out to GZ early and it was a quick find thanks to the good hint.
Hard to imagine this area bustling with activity back in the day when there was a meat works / wool scours and railway station here. So quiet now.
Cache is in good condition. Picked up TB. Dropped off 'Buzby' TB.
Thanks for the cache CowboyMacca.

Quick and easy find. Had noticed this area when we arrived in Charleville yesterday. So many interesting things to do in and around here
I have been to Charleville many many times but never bothered to check for a cache... Until today TFTC, nothing taken nothing left. Cheers
We noticed the ruins on our way into town. Great to know the history.

Yes, Mr CO - it was well worth a quick stop. Thanks for bringing us here. Found at 7.15 am on 22nd August 22015. TFTC.
Found on our outward leg of our road trip from Cowell SA to Blackall Qld. Finding a few caches along the way was a good way to have a rest from travelling. Thanks for the hide.
An interesting historical relic, or is it ruin? No doubt in the 1880s the railway would have been the fastest method of transporting stock to the mentor's, and sending the processed meat to market closer to the coast. Later, no doubt, wool would have travelled east by the same means. We were curious about the nearby tree (not the palm) with its bulbous seeds. An easy find, and although the cache container has a small hole, the Log we signed was dry inside another small sealed container. tftc, cowboymacca.
My first stop at these ruins after driving past them countless times over the years. It was great to show the kids some local history and also explain to them that the palm tree has been welcoming people to Charleville well before their daddy was born. There wasn't any trackable in the cache which was a bit disappointing. TFTC
Found this cache after being in the Simpson Desert and Birdsville and after all roads closed, now open and not being able to go down the Birdsville track we we heading back thru Qld. This has a nice lit of history. Some TBS made a visit and we picked up two TBS

Found while on our way to Longreach for the AGM of the A Van caravan club.
Sorry for the generic log, but not having reliable internet access we have to do mass loggings when we can, and remembering individual caches becomes becomes impossible. We really appreciate the time and effort that goes into the creating of these caches and they make our long travels that much more enjoyable. So a blanket thank you to all.
Took trackable as we hope to do the west coast after the AGM.

We were actually on our way out of Charleville today so this was more of a goodbye than a welcome. Great piece of history here. TFTC
Clean the cache, replace log with a official log book. Old log book has water damage but ready to be collected.
Geogranny talking about Palm tree Before the town; I thought it was very cool this cache was near a landmark her kids used to try and find before the hometown.
I placed a TB in cache as well happy hunting.

Container is damaged and requires a new logbook. Didn't have any spare with me, sorry.
Not just a ruin but a ruin with history. There is a need for a new log as the old one is in tatters.
A quick drive by on way North to Barcaldine. Roadkill has the site smelling like its history:)
