Spent many summer days here as a teenager. And see others still hang out here. Sadly no cache found but we did find an empty screw container without a lid or contents that may have once been a cache.
Worked in Masterton for the weekend and now slowly wandering home with some detours. Today was a tramp to the Herepei Hut and collecting some caches on the way. This looks like a great place for a swim. Too cold today but would love to come back in the summer. Thanks.
Thanks taybee nz, uncle and Junior for placing this cache
Finders should BEWARE that there is a coating of orange coloured grease all over the underside around here... so be careful what you touch or brush-up-against
Found in the obvious place on a sunny day after a great walk in the hills.
Logbook lovely and dry

I didn't manage to find this cache when I called five years ago. Today, I discovered it immediately in a place I would have surely checked last time. Hmmmm! The cache seems to be a bit stuck in place so I just unscrewed the lid to access its contents.

#4938. I have had a full on week at work - full of meetings and briefings, reviewing documents as well as chairing another meeting all day Saturday. Of course Wellington was having its hottest and driest spell of weather on record while I was deskbound. So was hanging out for a geocaching expedition today. I love caching in the Wairarapa so decided it was time for another full day visit. It was cloudy and warm over here and mostly dry all day. Managed to get 53 caches found on my ambitious list of 80 with just 4 DNF's. Pulled up and checked a few obvious places by the road but no cache. Read some logs and realised I would have to venture further afield. Soon spied the cache in its lower lair. Signed the logsheet and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache taybee nz.
Two traditionals down here so why not? We soon found the location but took a while to realise where we had to go to actually find the hide. What a beautiful location. Not sure we were supposed to go there ... private property? However, we soon found the cache, signed it and replace where found. TFTC and bringing us to this beautiful spot. (Could be a good place for a picnic if you are around here at lunchtime. )
Enjoying the countryside collected caches along the way.
Soon had this one found. Sure is a short street.

Enjoying a great days caching in around Eketahuna. No problem finding the cache. TFTC
Found it this time. A previous DNF, a year ago, almost to the day.
Got gruff and ready this time and managed to do what we hadn't previously. Carefully red the edvern log and got the wipes at the ready. We didn't really need to go to that extent.
Once at GZ, straightforward find.
Cache in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

This one had us puzzled for quite a while, but in the end the title and the previous log helped. Hand wipes were needed to clean up after dealing with this one, but the contents are fine. Thanks for the challenge taybee nz.
An enjoyable day in the North Western Wairarapa with Waiiti20 and drawp. A generic log due to the many finds, but our thanks to those who have placed caches in this scenic area - both roadside and in the Tararua Forest Park. We enjoyed some fun finds and a few lonely caches but most of all an excuse to drive (on almost every road thanks skindo) through this part of the country. TFTC
One of many great caches found with Envy-Us and Waiiti20 on a 100 plus find caching day in the Wairarapa. Many thanks to the CO's for the cache placements, the many puzzle caches we found, the great journey we had around the many back country roads, and the many interesting places we visited. Sorry for the generic type log. TFTC.
Found on a road trip with Emvy_us and Drawp while exploring some scenic back-roads and lovely scenery which geocaching gets one to. TFTC, #7142
I'm humbled by the fact that huhugrub came in a day ahead of us and made the find. Not sure where we went wrong. Guess we'll need to come back some time.
Congrats to huhugrub for breaking the jinx.

#5952. Didn't see Billy goat Gruff, but did manage to find the cache. Wow ... 479 days since the last find. Managed to retrieve and replace carefully to avoid the grease, although seeing plenty of evidence where it had stuck to others. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Quick find, on another big day in Wairarapa. Didn't see Billy today!! Thanks for the cache.
#5599. No sign of BGG today. Having read about the grease, I was careful retrieving the cache and managed to avoid getting it on me or my clothes. TFTC.

We wanted to find the cache quickly as it was raining, so after a quick look, then a perusal of the terrain rating, we knew we'd have to look elsewhere. StreetWalker volunteered to retrieve while I stayed dry in the car .

It didn’t take too long to locate this cache, but not before we encountered the dreaded grease. TFTC

With the light drizzle setting in for the afternoon, it was left to Mr Geckoh to collect this cache, he was hoping not to meet Billy Goat Gruff! Managed to stay grease-free, thankfully. TFTC

Decided to go to the Wairarapa to go and pick up a few caches that were north of Eketahuna, actually west, but who's noting the differences .
Left Wellington early in the morning so that I wasnt going to have to worry about the traffic over the Rimutakas, having travelled along this road a few times now and it didnt take too long for me to make my way to GZ.
Arriving at GZ, I soon noted where this could be and after reading the cache page I soon realised where this cache was going to be. Finally working out where the cache was going to be it didnt take too long to track down the cache in the first spot that I looked. Managed to recover the cache without getting myself covered in the yaky stuff.
Signed and replaced the cache as found, very interesting spot to hide a cache, thanks for placing it here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (4834)

Was wary of previous comments, so avoided any messy situation.
A lovely peaceful river area.

Came here this evening towards the end of a day's caching in the Wairarapa to clean up some of the caches that have been beckoning to me for a while. Found by torchlight, it was getting pretty dark by now. Could have ended up in a very sticky situation here, lots of care needed retrieving the cache! Signed log, TFTC!
found with The Seagnoid and Toad during a 60+ cache weekend.
nice play on the 'hint'.
that anti-rust grease is nasty! reminds me of red meconium [xx(]

Felt like we were on private property hunting for this one - found after reading previous logs. TFTC
Sticky indeed! Fairly quick find. Nice spot but didn't like having to climb over someone's fence to get to it. TFTC
Rather pleased I picked that the bridge is coated in grease, it's not uncommon, so took appropriate care in looking for the cache.
