Thanks for bringing us to this interesting place but unfortunately it looks like the cache is missing. Might be worth checking on.
Searched around the area (didn't go over the fence) and couldn't find. Just seen another DNF log on the same day as us, so maybe the owner needs to check its still there
Found it with peternzl. Droped 5 cents down the well but didnt go down and got stuck on the metal bars!!

Had to be a bit careful with Muggles mowing the park, but there it was on my first look. TFTC.
The travel bug I have in my possession wants to visit historical sites. How appropriate! TB visit.
New location is good. Hope people still discover the beach where the old cache location was.

sure enough, the brand-new replacement cache has been muggled. Wondering if neighbours do not want any intrusion from non-locals here?... ( even though it is along a public accessway & land!)
Will look at changing GZ.

Wandered down the track to this one and found the obvious hiding place. No cache to be found without trampling around too much. Shame as it looks like a great spot.
Two of us tried.
It is a great place to hide a cache.
We did not tramp the vegetation.
Thanks anyway.

Dissappointing not to find our first attempted cache in NZ

Decided to do some caching around Russell today and this was first stop after the ferry. Surpisingly little around here to explain the history! Nice easy stroll down to GZ though and a quick find of the cache. Thanks SalthyCacheNutZ.
Dog and owner appeared as I was waiting for GPS to settle...then they disappeared and I found the cache. TFTC

A very nice place and a beautiful house next to the beach ... Easily found! Thanks for showing, v.c.
Quick walk down the hill to GZ for this one, quick find, signed the log then headed back up the hill slowly, legs were shattered by this point. TFTC
Did this on the walk from Opua to Russell which is an excellent walk although the final stretch isn't quite completed so involves a walk on the busy road-still very much worth it though. This cache took us to an excellent quiet beach TFTC
Fitzy and I are visiting New Zealand for a week to do some caching and have a look around.
This was our fourth cache on day three of our adventure.
There were some other muggles around today, so we had to wait - a lot! .
Nice place to wait though!
TFTC.

Stopped by for a quick check & noticed a signature by some muggles (probably neighbours? as the tree has been trimmed); adjusted clue accordingly.

OUR THIRD INTERNATIONAL FIND!
Lovely view from where the cache was hidden.
Wasn't hidden very well the previous time as was visable from where I was standing.
Hid it well so it will be more of a challenge for the next person!
Left our signiture card and took a pink car!
Great find!
P.S. The walk was impossible. HUGE HILL!

I always thought it was Russell, but then the DOC sign says it was, who'd of thought they would change locations of a town.

Our first cache after leavng the ferry and didn't take long to find thanks for sharing this historic site T4TC.
This was a quick find, once we realised there was a cache in the area. (We'd wandered down to the reserve just to see the first capital site, and THEN turned on the GPSr on a whim! TFTC TNLN
Well think I went the wrong way to this one, Sarah(gpsr) took me to the end of a road near some big posh gates. Looking around I saw the beach access sign.
Off I went, the vegitation got thicker and more overgrown and in the rain was soaking wet, finally got to within 20m of GZ but the tide was right in against a large log.
Decided to try time it right and run around the log when the wave went out. Stupid plan. Timed it wrong and got wet, yay, thats good for the work shoes. Found the cache and got back to the car, soaked as. Good thing messy Pooke's like me carry a change of clothes in the car.

We were staying with my bro just about the ferry landing. On Sunday we walked up the hill and I commented "just the place for a cache". When we returned to the house we checked the computer and there was this cache. TNLN and enjoyed the views and learning a little NZ history along the way. Thanks.
