So long Choice stop.
So long Choice stop.
After a fairly thorough search I failed to find anything.
Will try next year on my trek north.
Will try next year on my trek north.
Despite the assistance of 4 grey nomads who were occupying GZ, a thorough search failed to turn up the cache... which was quite disappointing for the nomads as they had heard about geocaching on an outdoors tv show recently. We were hoping to show them a cache, but had to just give them the geocaching web address. My geobuddy and I searched high and low, everywhere without actually dismantling the structure, but to no avail.
DNF for us maybe a good reason now with so many DNF's for owner to do a reccy & check it out,its a busy spot for muggles & could have been taken !!!
Drove past 2 weeks ago going south and council muggles busy mowing, tried again today and it was muggle camping central - 8 assorted caravans, campertrailers and campervans, and even some 20 somethings had set up a tent!!! Walked around pretending I was texting on iphone to get a fix on GZ but not a hope of having a good look around. Outwitted by muggles again x 3 today!!!
crossing auround and search some caches, it feels so good to be here.
thank for this cache and showing me so many beutiful places

Had to wait for the local caretaker to finish clearing the bins. Good to see that they were full and hardly a piece on the ground. Cache is as described in logs but was easily located.
We came on a wrong moment. Too many muggles where around to search for this cache for a long time.
Got to GZ and caught up with our fellow cachers again (Braeler and Stagdage) so will claim this as a joint find. TFTC
Being stalked by DaBudClan ..... we stopped here 12 months ago but had to logh a DNF then ..... a joint find with DaBudClan and the geoson STAGDAGE.

We had the area to ourselves today, so we were able to have a decent hunt. And we needed a decent hunt! Found eventually in a most unlikely 'container'. Thanks tigersden
Brahms6 Found this one. Last find of the day travelling from Cairns (14 finds in one day made it a slow trip). I gave up on this one three times, walked away, came back, got in the car, came back and eventually found it. A very difficult find for me. We were twenty kilometers further down the road when the clue finally hit us AHA!!!!!!!!!!! how thick are we. Great cache, SL
We already had the place searched twice and were just about to give up. The paradigm 'There is no smaller cache than a film can' does not hold here! Only slight muggle activity in the late morning hours.
Did search for a while. Plenty of muggles around. Had to give it away. Left name in rotunda.
Thank's for the cache, making our trip along the highwy up north much nicer...
A little after mid afternoon and they were already settling in. Had a quick look and managed to come up trumps.
Had a quick look after waiting for some muggles to pack up. Read the old logs but couldnt find it today!
I wouldn't have liked to camp here over night, since the place is not very nice at all. However if it's getting late and you are tired, it's better than nothing and there is even a hot shoper available.
A quick find even with lots of muggles around... Well, you need some stealth, but most of them were busy doing whatever they were doing here...

We had a quick stop here on the way through to Townsville. Way to many grey haired muggles in the afternoons. Will have to try this one later.
We arrived at the location at around 3pm to find there were already people setting up for the night. I am glad we decided to tackle this one soon after arriving as by nightfall the place was packed. The cache was located quickly, log signed and everything returned to its hidey spot.
Finally found this one, could not find on the way up north 2 weeks ago, went back and studied some of the old logs and sure enough there it was tucked away snug as a bug in a rug, very good hide, simple but effective.
Found on the trip home from up Cooktown way

Wonder if I will ever get a chance to have a look for this cache. Seems there is always someone there. Even having my lunch break here, waiting for the muggles to leave didn't help, After all I didn't want to spend the whole afternoon waiting for them to leave (they were in absolutely no hurry to move on)!
Had search in dark on our night stopover. Didn't notice previous note being in plastic bag only.
This one had me looking high and low. More by chance then anything else, something caught my eye, and what do you know, I found it !

and left it the same way.

As per previous logs, found cache in makeshift state, had no trouble with muggles as it was to early for them.TNLN, TFTC.
Found the cache after a bit of searching. Found as per the previous log description and location. We were also lucky to score the "correct shelter". TNLN SL Thanks for the hunt : )
There were other people in the park when we got there but we managed to score the shelter shed before them.
While we were waiting for the others to move on, we enjoyed a cuppa.
To my amazement, when I was looking around to see if I could guess the location of the hide, I found it lying on the ground out in the open. No sign of any container though.
We signed the log and placed it in a plastic bag and re-hid it under one of the chair legs, the one closest to the rubbish bins.
I'm sorry for giving away the challenge, but since I don't know where it should be hidden, I figure it's the right thing to do.

Found at 10.00am GAFF1. Maybe not as a choice spot as where we stayed for the last 2 nights in Bowen, but due to the nearby service station, it will do!
Thanks for cache tigersden.

Charlie and I are here from Oregon, USA, touring the east coast in a camper van. Quick cache & dash for us today. TFTFun
Pt. Douglas Trip 09.5. Very quiet here today. When I passed on the way south you could not fit another van around the park. This meant I had plenty of time to look in the wrong spot in peace. Eventually I found it. Thanks.

It is almost a year since we did this road trip and try as I might, have not been able to find my cache notes from the trip. I apologise for the generic log. TFTH

Well Don't you hate that, Dropped in for a visit and the Cache has been Muggled. we have searched high and low and can't find the container or any sign of the contents, so we replaced the entire cache and moved it a few metres, sorry to those that have already signed the log.

The Reluctant Companion had breakfast and suggested a caching day. So off we set for Bowen. Pulled in here first - carefully surveyed the area and immediately decided there it was, however a young man got out a car right beside GZ and proceeded to light a cigarette and survey the world. I wandered through the park for a while and then he got his camera and walked to the shop. I jumped in - got the cache and signed the log. Was he looking for a cache and wishing I would leave??? TNLN TFTC. Great idea to break the trip from Bowen to the Burdekin.
fingers crossed ...

Nice spot for an overnight stay on the way to the cape. With a traveling companion Muzza, so introduced him to the game.
Interesting though, pulled up for the night, figured there had to be a cache here, but of course the site was down. Found it on Geoaching Australia, but of course it didn't have co-ordinates. Even tried ringing for help, but without the site... Had to wait for morning for the site to be up and get the co-ordinates. Of course found out when we met the group in Cairns that another of our group had camped in the identical spot the night before - small world!

This quiet little park was anything but quiet today, grey nomads everywhere. But as luck would have it,I had parked the ute between GZ and the GN's.Thanks Tigersden for an easy DIDO.TNLNSL.
Accidently forgot to turn the GPS on before we got to GZ but while we were waiting for it to warm up we decided to stretch our legs and scan for possible options. But we quickly turned the GPS off as we had basically pulled up right next to where we needed to be and sure enough our instinct was spot on and the cahce was quickly in hand. Bonus being that it was also a FTF. TNLNSL Thanks for the cache.
