RIP Headen Seek. You brought a lot of enjoyment to many geocachers. And even scored a 'favourite' point!
Hi Yurt, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I liked the park (have ridden past many times up on the main road). I agree with archiving it as I suspect the muggles will be back; there was no rhyme or reason to what they did.
BTW I have to get used to looking at who owns the caches I'm visiting - didn't realise it was yours until just now - doh!

Went and inspected the site and found the container and log gone and a few bits and pieces that may have been in the cache strewn down the slope. We knew this had a limited life given the collapse of earth at GZ but didn't get around to archiving. Now the muggles, or in this case, mugglers, have done their worst. Looked around the oval for any other remnants but found nothing. Hope you enjoyed yourselves.
Thanks to all who found this, our first cache.
Stay tuned for Headen Seek 2.0 or v2 or mark 2 or something like that. It won't be as easy to find or muggle next time!

Mongrels!! We noted the camo was getting weaker and weaker last time we were there and planned on archiving it when it got to 100 finds. Too late. Will check tomorrow but this is the end for this cache whatever happens. Glenferns you can log a find if you want as you found GZ.
Goodbye to our first cache. Replacement coming one day.
Goodbye to our first cache. Replacement coming one day.
Visited and found various toys (yo yo, bubble blower) strewn down the slope. Think its been muggled. Cement block sound right? No cache or log.
Arrived at GZ and had the place to myself, except for mad dog. Quickly found the cache and released two spiders that appeared to be hungry. SL TFTC.
Our first out of town cache:). TNLN. Your right about the dog, I think he has some issues!
Thanks! Good find with the kids...

A nice light drizzle all morning... That is, until I decide to go caching!
So there I was, rummaging around on the slopes and shrubs in the rain, in very inappropriate clothing. And yes, those paths are indeed slick in the wet. Good thing the cache is easy to find! TFTC Yurt.

I have driven past this way many times in the past and was unaware of this little suburban oasis!!
Thanks for bringing me here. Cache all in good order.

3rd and final find of the day, and a very nice one at that. Lots of goodies inside, didn't have much on me so left a shoe clean mitt and hotel shampoos!! Took the chicken little figurine, which will now be on it's way to a Queensland cache with a fellow Geo.
Cricket game going on but out of the way so no problems. Doggie certainly knew we were there though! TFTC
Cache 4 of 8 in a day of caching with dad
Cache found with no problems at all ...the terrain rating is a bit high though!! (unless you try scaling straight up to the cache from the sportsfield lol)

Perfect location fo an after caching afternoon tea.
called it a day at this location after doing a trip to pick up some ebay purchases.
I managed to distract everyone and find this one before everyone else.
took a little toy, left a whole stack of swaps.
thanks for the cache.

Our last cache for the afternoon trrip. The cache was exposed and has been found by muggles, but thankfully not destroyed. There have been a few entries in the log book by muggles.
We didn't notice a coin or bug in the cache, reading the logs the coin was picked up previously.
Thanks Yurt.

Did a cache check this morning and the listed Geocoin is not there. Also some lowlives have written some nasty swearing in the log which I have removed. The cache is now a lot more obvious than when it was placed so we are considering archiving this one and putting in another nearby. Probably not a good idea to leave TBs and GCs now.
returned with debanco as promised to drop of a half dozen toys to help stockpile the cache(wooden bear, soft dog n a croc, plastic duck, plane etc) Not sure if it was a muggle that was there as we arrived, looked suspiciously more like an unsuccessful cacher! Also took alf TB

Easy walk from the road and easy find. Cleverly headen Although the 2 guard dogs you've put in place to stop people searching for the cache gave me a scare (haha). They bark quite loud and I wondered if it was going to attract attention, but no...all good. Now if only I can get the Eastern cache, then all will be good.SL.TNLN.TFTC.
Passing through Sydney to pick up my new caching companion (a puppy that i have named Cacher) and took the time to grab a cuppa nearby so thought I would also grab a cache.

travelling by so dropped in to leave Jo Jos Geocoin, couldn't resist the cute baby mickey but as not have my 'bag of bits' with me will leave several items when next return.
Our first find!
In all the excitement, I think I *may* have logged my entry in the log book as 05/10/2010 rather than 05/09/2010. Sorry about that.

2/3 of the squints were here for this one (spectacle and bifocal). Not too hard to find but a bit squishy underfoot
Popped in this afternoon. Found it easily - 'tis a steep slope though! Took nothing, signed log - cache is safe and sound. Thanks again, Yurt.
Quick find. TNLN. But there is a freeway beginning to form into it. Took Kenny Trackable.
Found it! Didn't take long at all.. Kinda obvious, but better than a day of bloody CoD.
Bonsaimaxi found this cache without a gps. We used the Clue to found it.
I left a Tracking Bug but didn't take anything.

Following a request from a geocoin owner we checked the cache this afternoon. A wet soggy afternoon with the rugby in full swing below, chopping up the oval, geokid slid down the hill for the cache to find it rather poorly hidden. We checked out the contents and found the "Team Challenge BSA Troop 87" TB but not the Charlotte Arches geocoin so someone has removed it without logging. There is a log entry for 24 May by the Rovers (Scouts over 18) who haven't logged here as well. Not sure how long the geocoin has been gone but possibly a while. We took the TB and left the Coast Guard TB ( fair way from the coast) and re-hid the cache a lot better. Sorry about the geocoin, first time it's happened in one of our caches but it happens way too often for my liking.
Also looks like the cache needs re-stocking, trading down has been happening for a while here with only the cheapest Xmas cracker fillers in there now.

Could a future finder please let me know if my daughters coin " Charlottes Bridges and Arches of Central Park" is in the cache??

Description and logs from other geocachers made this one easy. No one was about at about 11:30am except for a couple of workmen near the toilets, and they soon left in their truck. Had the whole of Headen Park to myself.
Strolling up and around the embankment was obviously the way to go, and the little bushy path down to GZ from unmistakable. The barking dog over on the other side of the fence didn't disappoint, but after a few perfunctory woofs seemed to lose interest in my scuffling.
Cache is safe and sound and in good condition. Will be quite obvious when you get close to it. Anyone on the playing field won't see you and I imagine that this cache can be retrieved even during well-attended sporting events.
I can appreciate that the descent down the final path might be a bit tricky & slippery when wet, but this old guy had no trouble at all. I'm used to rugged Blue Mountains conditions and sheer precipices!
Many thanks to Yurt for another one . . .

A great hide, but a bit slippery this morning as light rain was falling. Cache was quickly in hand, with no muggles on the field below. TFTH...SL....TNLN
Heading off on vacation I stopped off to find this cache on the way. No game happening so i had the place to myself and the cache was soon in hand. Took Turtle TB for a seaside holiday. TFTC
Wombatjo and I were here today. Took a travelbug but it has no dogtag would love to know how to track him . The barker was still there.
My Geowife found this cache pretty quickly while my 2 year old Geokid ran wild on the oval with all the other kids.

After grabbing Thorn's Reward this on was a bit easier. Snuck past the bluding coucil workers, up the hill and made the grab. Onroute up north, cheers!

Heading back south, detoured to find this one. A gae of cricket was on below but we were out of sight and made a quick find. Grabbed a geocoin. Thanks Yert.
Dropped in for a quick cache check and to do a TB swap. Took Lantern TB (not exactly a campground here!) and left Another 48 Hours GC which should have been dropped off some 168 or so hours ago. All looks okay.
Nice quick find with my four year old.
Cache is looking a little empty so we took nothing but added a gold coin and a lantern TB.

Took the long way in taking a detour via the trail but eventually found my way to the oval which was deserted and the cache was located soon after. I love these national park caches. Gives me an excuse for a quick bush walk during a break on the day. TFTC! TNLN
found it even though the gps wasn't working great spot!!!! Left spyro maccas toy
So many sticks in my hair!!! Wandered the entire distance along this track for shorties, while Argeisia entered an easier way after GZ located. Wonder what the cricketing lads thought?
Found the cache to the call of HOZZZZZAT and the umpire's finger pointed the the sky.
The dog over the fence was havin a go too.

The recent rain made this a slippery effort indeed. Webby spotted it quickly, which was good as the local dog wouldn't stop barking. Thank you for the find.
Nice quick find with athompson (not assisting me of course, as he'd already found this one) and geodad. Left mini USB mouse, took North Yorkshire TB, SL. TFTC!

Visited this cache at midday today as I figured with the possibility of muggles, being NYE and an overcast/drizzling day there would be no one around.. I was correct, except for some council workers in the nearby hall who pretty much ignored me anyway.
Found the cache, actually went right past and down below it but backtracked along the path a little and saw the obvious place it would be.. Signed log, took the London Eye Geocoin to move to a cache closer to the city, hopefully tonight before NYE festivities or within the next few days if the weather clears up. Left a small keyring TV remote control (Which is great fun anywhere where there is a TV around!)
Note for cachers with geokiddies: There were a fair few spiders around and other nooks/crannies where they could hide, where I'm sure any curious gk may look. Might want to keep an eye on them if you bring them along.

Found while picking up Drifter, part a movable geocache race. See http://www.cachinggames.com/mcr/ for more info.
A nice cool morning with no-one around made this an easy find. Finally a cache large enough to place a T/B I've been carrying around for a while as most are too small for this baby.
No sign of the Geocoin mentioned on the cache page.
Thanks Yurt.

A special train trip to pick up the Moving Cache Race entry nearby (see http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13394) so I thought I'd better look for this cache from Yurt too I was just writing in the log what a quiet spot it was this afternoon when 3 local teenagers came by and sat on the seat right nearby! I could definitely see them quite cleaarly through the vegetation but luckily they didn't seem to notice me. Thanks for the cache Yurt, hope the Melbourne trip went well
My wife Pam and I are visiting friends who live two streets away.
I went for a morning walk to find this one.
The cricket match was just getting underway at 8am, when I found it.
Nice big cache, LNTN except the GC which I'll take back to Melbourne.

Only difficulty here was the school cricket match nearby, with loads of players and spectators. Anyhow, a short walk placed us near GZ, screened from the masses, and MrsFish ignored the barker and watched while MrFish gingerly approached and found the cache. TN, left a small car. Thanks to Yurt for another good hide.

bit of a mad scramble in the dark but found it ok - luckily there was no barking dog!
our second find with this new group of guides - they had good fun finding it in the dark!
Our second Yurt cache for the day, and time for a little snack and play in the park before heading over and finding the cache. I had no problems and went straight to it, though the geokids needed a little hint!

No barker today, we could work the cache undisturbed.
Took the TB 'Race around Australia' and a smiley, left a car and a keyring.

A quick walk to GZ, although the nearby dog was very barky. A pretty quick find. Cheers Gav [3960]
Hadn't looked at the hint and assumed the top, then assumed the bottom, then climbed. 1 Geokid and I were searching when the rest of our party of 6 braved the steep slopes. Sat in the mud and signed the log while the geokids plundered swaps!
Pretty good hide for a first hide, well done and appreciated. This was also the WestleighWarriors first find, well done guys.

The children had played in this park so many times before we decided to start geocaching. With great excitement we went back and climbed around until we found it. A good place to start for the children. Thank you.
We urged our young boys not to poke their fingers at the barker! And not a spot to search on rainy days. TFTC.
