TFTC team lemmings your cache Willetts Road Park that we found today. Too windy for the bike and the kayak so the group went and did their own thing. We needed to do some shopping so we stayed within a 5km loop of the caravan Park. We stopped where we could to find a cache.Find Count: 20372
Hi there team lemmings, we found your cache Willetts Road Park today. Its day 16 of our geocaching trip to Mackay. We have picked an arbitrary geocache, and were planning on doing a next closest run for a while. A nice quick find. We dropped a trackable in here to tempt someone to come and pick it up.Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache near where our GPS said we should be looking. Cache Condition: Good. Regards Ian & Penny (Found and logged using Cachly).
I have to admit that I struggled with this one in the rain but was able to get what I needed to find the cache in the end. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:I was visiting from the U.S. and had a goal of driving all the way up the east coast starting in Melbourne and ending in Port Douglas over a few weeks. Today started in Rockhampton and ended in Airlie Beach.I was enjoying my drive up the coast and seeing new places along the way. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but I do appreciate you.
Great one for kids! Bring appropriate food for animals. They sort of expect it.NOT for those scared of birds!!!Yes, container needs replacing. Was waree filled but log still safe in zip lock bag.
I recommend replacing the container with a more waterproof one. Don't want to lose this cool cache. If you can't, let me know and I will stop by again to replace it.
Down from Townsville with GC_Diver and BenM70 to raid the new rare DT on offer and pick up some mysteries and multis to add to our totals. Most logs signed BBG to save time and space.
I managed to solve this at home and this evening it was a quick grab.
Thanks team lemmings for giving us some targets and for saving me from the bogan invasion at the Townsville Show.

I had solved this ahead of time. Came past here, so were able to make the find.
Numerous new caches have been sitting untouched in Mackay since April / May, so of course Townsville’s FTF hounds were interested in adding those attractive D/T ratings to the collection of finds during this long weekend. First and foremost, some of these rare ratings would allow me to fill my D/T matrix grid a bit further using only FTFs. Additionally this brings me now to the 39th consecutive month with an FTF to continue my monthly streak. Apart of that, these and other caches on the list for this weekend count towards my next general matrix loop, as well as bring me closer to filling a D/T matrix grid using only Traditional caches. So overall indeed a great collection to get. The nicely themed mysteries in the list I had already solved some time ago and so it was great to get them at last.
The weekend started a bit late as a Maker Magic Event was scheduled for the Saturday morning in Townsville. After this was ticked off and some issues with the car sorted we finally hit the road until arriving in Mackay in no time. Thank you very much team lemmings for creating and maintaining Willetts Road Park it was great fun getting it. Also a big thank you to burgo78 for providing the chauffeur services on the land and water, and to BenM70 for doing the tree fishing! Caches were signed as team BBG to save space and time.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 106. Mackay Day 2. With no pressing caching goals for today, I set about a few solved puzzles, and an interesting walk to an island on the river. I managed some LABs as well. There are some interesting areas of Mackay and the Marina is a beautiful place.
On my way home I decided I would try one multi today, so after a bit of careful counting, I found myself at a very reasonable spot, and there was the cache. I am always happy when a multi works.
Thanks for the cache team lemmings

It’s about time I began to head home after the Townsville mega, so here I am in Mackay. The weather was certainly not put on for me though! Thanks for the puzzles, the caches, the different to the usual finds team lemmings. A nice quick multi!
A nice little playground next to the river. Lots of ducks and geese. The calculations were soon completed, cache found and signed. Now onto the next one. TFTMC.
This is the second day of the drive from Brisbane to Townsville and today I, along with Fangsoki, Crew 153 and 1MinnieMoo are doing the Rockhampton to Mackay leg. I've never driven north of Rocky, so this is all new to me. But, I'm in the backseat today, meaning even the notorious Marlborough stretch went by quickly as I read and wrote.
After a lunch stop in Sarina, and a visit to Hay Point, we arrive in our overnight stop; Mackay. I've not been to Mackay before, so this is a little exciting. We have just two quick finds before checking into the motel and we're aiming for generally older hides.
In the car, two of us had found this before, and two had not. Having never been in this whole city before, I am of the latter. MinnieMoo and I hopped out and found that the playground was being well-loved today. And there was some ducks cruising about the pond too. No worries, try to not look suspicious.
We managed to avoid any concerned looks from parents and worked out exactly where we needed to be. At the final GZ, I made a quick find, handed over the logbook, it was signed then all replaced back as found in record time at about 15:30. Done and outta here! Thanks for this geocache, team lemmings

10/4/2022 Find #5315
It was day two of the Trudge to Townsville for Fangsoki, Captain Terror, Crew153 and I, heading from Rockhampton to Mackay. Our goal along the way is to collect particularly older caches, with one or two odd other caches thrown in.
Only Captain Terror and I needed this cache, as the other two had already done it on previous missions.
It didn’t take long however for us to have this sorted and cache in hand, with hardly any looks in our direction from families at the playground.
Thanks for the cache tigersden and team lemmings.

We tried and tried with this one. Answers to questions weren't clear cut. Coordinates kept putting us in the middle of an intersection. Gave up and went with cache sense and found it within a few minutes. TFTC
Had a bit of trouble settling on the numbers we needed to be able to find GZ, but finally managed to get a set that looked likely. Still needed quite a bit of searching before we discovered where it was hiding!
Found as I meander my way from Adelaide to Cairns.
With no real travel plan and three weeks to get there before I meet up with friends, there has been plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and finding a few selected caches along the way.
This morning I stopped in here quickly as I left Mackay heading north. I thought a couple of the questions were a bit ambiguous (for example, there is more than one animal), but those issues were quickly overcome with a bit of logic about where the final might be. Once the final coordinates were determined it was a quick find and I was back on my way.
Thanks team lemmings for the cache.

Apparently this one would bring up another souvenir due to picking up the last spacial wonder. grabbed all the clues and it match what was on the front cover of the logbook. Good little multi. Thanks for the hide Tigersden and TeamLemmings
We returned from the Twitchers trail for luch at the caravan, and decided to head out again into town and along the foreshore for those that we had yet to find. We woke up Bill from DiMorgan from his afternoon nap to tag along with us.

TFTC,
Out with Liz & Bruce and Nana nel who wants to make "GC6Q54Q - Where I Go" her 10,000th find for a special Milestone type of cache.
It is always good to find an older cache taking pride of place within a line of new caches.
We are walking this trail to get the numbers Nana needs, amazing what you do to help other cachers out.
Added a favourite and visited trackables.

Out doing the Twitchers series with Wazza9 after getting all the information required, a quick find was made. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to team lemmings for maintaining this older cache.
Travelling towards Townsville after finally travelling is allowed in Queensland.
We decided to stay a 3rd night.
So we continue sight seeing and caching.
We started the nearby trail, and had our lunch here, gathered the information and found this container.

Caching in and around Mackay and surrounds we picked up a few caches and this was one of them.
A straight forward multi, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

After missing out on caches in rocky on our way north, glad to pick up this nice puzzle in Mackay. TFTC
I’m usually one of the runners that frequent the area. It’s a good spot to start a run around the partly shaded Gooseponds after work. So this one was part of the reason we became premium members so that I could see what might be hiding here. Today we were out for a bike ride with geo kids. Slightly frustrated by a 3 yo who screams on even these tiny slopes and refuses to use her brakes but glad the trip was made worthwhile by our first multi. Got a bit confused by misreading clues on phone and making the algebra much harder than it really was. But fairly quickly sorted it out while kids enjoyed the playground. Got to get a favourite point for being our first multi too. TFTC.
Mackay Day 2
Today we decided to cache closer to the city, then west to Fairleigh
We found a good variety of caches in some amazing locations.
All the items were counted & we made our way to the final GZ where we quickley spotted a likely hide
Thanks for placing this cache team lemmings

With Fangsoki and Crew153 in the mighty Canyonero, we hit the outback in search of the oldest and finest Queensland has to offer. 6000+ kms in 8 days - an epic journey. Day seven and we are here. After a day mostly at sea, we headed back out on the road for one last final find (for me) for this trip. It has indeed been an most excellent adventure. I am somewhat pleased to find that this final one is by a CO I know well. A long way from my home.
We collected clues without leaving the car, and after plugging in the numbers headed off to the new GZ - and a nice straightforward find it was to pull the curtains. Now to drive home 1100 kms away.
Thanks Tigersden, maintenance by Team Lemmings for entertaining me at this location.

When Fangsoki and Pprime (P') mentioned about a road trip to get the old caches in outback Queensland I jumped at the chance to see some of our great country. The 8 day tour covered some 6,000km and a day on a boat in the Whitsundays. I wouldn't have missed the adventure for the world.
We sat in the car and worked out the answers then headed to the new coordinates for a quick find.

Crew 153, Pprime, and I were coming through Mackay after having been out west. I had put this cache on my target list as it is an "older cache" to grab.
We managed to answer most questions from the car (which was good - coz it was hot out there today). We then organised some plausible co-ords.
After a brief hunt, I found the beast safe and sound in good hiding spot. We signed the log and re-hid the cache as found.
Despite having lived in Northview during the late 80s and early 90s as a kid, I was not familiar with this park. It was good to drop in and have a look. TFTC Tigersden and thanks to Team Lemmings for the maintenance

Found by working out co-ords ..didn’t really have to.. did while resting in such a nice location.
Easy find today after we went home and worked out its location. Clever cache no swaps today. TFTC
I am in Australia for 2 weeks, starting with the Mega-event in Alexandra, Victoria.
After an AMAZING 3-day liveaboard-divetrip in The Great Barrier Reef, my plan is to drive from Cairns to Brisbane. I found a car online that needs to be relocated, so I have a free car for 6 days, that's perfect for geocaching
Today I drove from Airlie Beach to Rockhampton, finding lots of nice caches along the way. I especially liked the caches along the coast, just next to Bruce Highway. The views of the ocean were absolutely stunning. I'm so glad there were lots of caches there, otherwise I would have just passed by on A1 without seeing anything.
About this cache:
I always look for quick multi-caches when I'm travelling, I don't have many, so it's my priority. This one looked like I could do fairly quickly, so I drove here. Easy to park, easy to solve and a short walk from step 1. The hide was also excellent and easy. Thank you for a great multi, greetings from Norway

Great to do with kids!! Log is very wet. Put log in a new set ziplock bag. Took skull left marble. TFTC
I was out on a bike ride along the goose ponds, and finally I had the place to myself. Having solved the co-ords over 6 months ago and this is the first time I had been alone to have a look around. After a while I wasn't sure I was in the right place so I rechecked the coordinates and came up with the same place. So I looked again and had one of those 'How did I miss that moment' anyway when I opened the cache it was full of water so I emptied it out and dried the contents and signed the water proof log, It was mostly dry when I put it back. Thanks Tigersden for placing, and Team Lemmings for maintaining.
Great fun Cache! Found it with my little cousins from Wales! The cache and it contents were a little wet. I wiped them as dry as possible but didnt have time to air them out sorry

On a work layover in Mackay and decided to go for a 13.17 km walk to grab some caches.
Have tried to locate this cache before, but have always been thwarted by muggle kids playing in the playground. No such muggle problem today. The heat of the day must have kept them all home in air-conditioned comfort.
After some quick calculations, I had the prize in hand.
Took nothing and left nothing. Log signed. Cache and log found to be in good condition.
Finding this cache has now given me a total find count of 1478.
Thanks for the multi cache hide team lemmings.

Yay! Believe it or not, this was our third attempt at this cache! I now have now idea how we missed it the first two times, but miss it we did. All is well here today, contents nice and dry and tucked away. Happy to have a smiley for this one!
Having just done the 4 disney caches out at the racecourse, went to maccas then to Willetts Road Park to do some mathemications to find the cache. Nice and easy... (Don't forget bread for the "now fat" wildlife!) TFTC!
Didn't find it looked for around 20 minutes read other logs said it was easy might need to check if it's still there

The cane toad guarding the cache gave Mrs Chippix a scare. The container was half full of water. TNLN. TFTC. Went for a walk around the pond afterwards.
Tricky but found it! Cache is wet though, needs to be taken and dried out or replaced.

stopped by today to make a start on this one ...
there was a family using the play equipment
so I gathered the answers to the questions from a distance, (sitting in my car) ...
compiled a set of co-ords to try
but opted to not draw attention to myself or the hide
and will return another day to test my solution.

This one is close to my accommodation, so I did it before heading off for dinner.

It still confuses me what the difference is between a multi and a riddle cache. I would have guessed this was a riddle cache. The other thing that did confuse us was which animal in the playground to count the letters because there are 2 permanent residents but I guess you could say technically there is one "on" the playground and one "in" the playground. Also there's lots of ducks and geese around too which is nice. A good little hide for the cache, all was dry today. Thanks for the smiley
Finally a Mackay playground without any muggles present
So I could poke around for the clues I needed and work out GZ
A short stroll later I found me a cache
Well the cache was a bit wet inside, so I took the time to dry it out
The logbook is one of those 'stone paper' ones and so is in good shape, despite the soaking [^]
So with everything dried out,
I put the cache back in place

Finding the co-ordinates was easy but had a lengthy wait for the bicycle riding muggle who was paying way too much attention to us to leave so we could return it. Thought he'd ridden off once but in a matter of seconds he was back. Mr Beetle thinks that he saw me get it, but I hope not. The contents were wet and very smelly and I think this one may need some urgent maintenance. Thanks.
Found at 12:14 PM GAFF1. Spot on co-ords and so many birds for such a small park. The cache had let in some water and the log book is wet - just don't know how that happens, especially where it is hidden [?]
Thanks team lemmings.
Thanks team lemmings.
Today we drove to Bucasia and worked our way back to Mackay.
This was a good multi with clear instructions. No muggles in sight.
We did sight a small snake in a shrub near GZ, geo-wife thought it was the cache until it moved it's head.
Cache slimy, log wet but useable.

17th of 36 finds on a four night holiday to Mackay for a wedding. Pipzi and I found this cache at 09:42.
On our way to the northern beaches for a day of caching I took a wrong turn off the highway and stumbled upon this cache. When we pulled up we were a bit concerned about the huge ducks that looked like they were going to attack us for bread. Thankfully, they left us alone long enough to collect the clues.
After doing the necessary calculations and determining a way point we were initially put off by the GPS pointing us in a wrong direction. It also didn't help that I read the hint for the next cache. That resulted in us wondering around aimlessly. Eventually, I decided to trust the direction my GPS wanted me to go in. That's what I found the cache.

This cache was full of water. Had to dispose of a lollipop that was soaked through. This cache needs urgent attention.
With some small amount of time left before I had to pick up the family from the cinemas at Mt Pleasant, I came here to gather this cache. I parked and gathered the information while sitting in the car as there was another car with some muggles in it nearby. Once they left, I walked the short distance to ground zero and found the container. I nearly jumped out of my skin as there was a cane toad in with the container. I am still not used to them being everywhere again as they haven't made their way down to Perth yet.
Thanks for the simple and easy multi-cache Tigersden (and Team Lemmings)

Another great cache at one of Mackay's parks. The SeekerKids loved their play while I did the calculations. The log was a bit wet despite the plastic bag. Sorry we didn't have time to dry it out. TNLN TFTC.
Another nice easy multi, although I am glad I was doing them at night, it would be harder to do in the day without kids in tow.
