Haed to walk this walk to visit the nearby monument and certainly took the time to have a look and work out a few answers. Another quick response from the CO's and all was good to log.
Thanks calvertcachers......always enjoy an earthcache. Greetings from Australia.

Great location. Came here while biking around DC from the Mt. Vernon trail to the Capital.

Nice chance to stop and look at the water on both sides of the bridge. Also stopped by the Mason memorial which I had never seen before. TFTC.
Took an evening stroll around the basin and chose to complete this earthcache!
We also saw a fox roaming the area!
Emailing answers.
Thank you for putting this together.

[center][navy]Yesterday I arrived in Washington DC. Today was sightseeing with geocaching on the top of my to-do-list. I started in the morning. The weather was perfect for that, it was not too hot and there were only some lonley drops of rain.
While I was trying to get the answers of this earthcaches some Germans asked me in English, whether I could take a picture of them. Of course I can do this. Afterwards they were speaking German and I said I'm also from Germany. It was fun. totally confused I forgot to take a picture of myself at this place. So I only had the picture of the heron and the piers of the bridge. I hope it is enough.[/navy]

Great visit on a fine day, our third day in Washington. Thanks for bringing us here.
A week of touring and caching with my GeoDad in Washington. What? No swimming? Thanks for the fun!
Out exploring the mall monuments and memorials by bike on a beautiful day. Will send email with answers. TFTC. Chris
Found it with my dad Topher_LV while in DC for a vacation. He sent the answer. tftc
I am in the area from Savannah Georgia for work and of course I remembered my G P S'r so that I could feed this addition of Geo Caching. The coordinates for this cache were accurate and it did not take me too long to have the needed information or log in hand, depending on the type of cache. Thanks for putting this together and for bringing me to this area.
I spent a good part of the afternoon this first day making my way around the National Mall visiting all of these great monument and memorials and gathering smiles on the map!
Remember, it is all about the miles and the smiles ~TFTC

Visiting DC area doing some sightseeing and caching. Thanks for setting up this cache, email coming with requested info.
We came up to Baltimore to see my grandmom is not doing good, and met a lot of family I have never met, and in some cases I was only 5. I am 37 now, so its been a long time. We had to break away and see DC one of the days and it was perfect weather for it. We had a awesome day, and it felt like we probably walked at least 10 miles lol...answers will come soon, they are on the other half's phone.

Enjoying a family trip to Washington DC. This was one of many of our Virtual/Earthcaches that we found around the mall. TFTC
Gathered a Cache Mob to go visit the Monuments and Memorials in DC - and about 20 Virtual caches and Earthcaches - this was the 16th cache of the morning - the first was the only traditional cache. Started out with a about a dozen for the early morning flash mob and then 4 of us continued on for the full tour -very hot day - but lots of great sights. I had found this before - last winter - quite a contrast in the weather - led the group here as we went all the way around the tidal basin.

I spent the day caching with my daughter as planned, but I also had the unexpected benefit of finding some of the caches today with JForceATx and VPDJ. They are a great couple of cachers whom we met up with at the local flash mob. The weather today was hot and humid (no surprise there), but we still covered a lot of ground and still got to be tourists while we did it. Thanks to all the CO's who placed caches for us to find on this today. We did all but one on foot. Answers have been sent via email.
Brief log for now; more to follow...
Changing log to Note until I can confirm...

Found with Visiting vet tech on a road trip to the DC area for a day of virtuals. She's sending the answers for this one.
We grabbed this one on our wanders through the memorials, nice to break up the virtuals with an earth cache.
The tides have always been fascinating to me, as I spent much of my childhood in coastal areas.
TFTC and the educating information.
