I went and checked on this one today, and it was there - but only just. As per the previous log there has been flooding and the cache was in a bad way.
Time to archive it I am afraid.
Time to archive it I am afraid.
Found the first part ok but didn't find the cache.. I think there's been some flooding since christmas, so it may pay to check on it. Found the hint but no goods.
The coords were found easily. As for the cache itself, it was a bit tricky. I wasn't wearing appropriate shoes, so couldn't go too far in the grass. Luckily, I had my gumboots in the car - once I had put them on, the cache was soon in hand.
Found together with nadya. To be honest it's nadya who has found it and I was almost ready to give this one up as the area has totally overgrown with tall grass and there was no slightest clue where to look. Next finder should have a slightly easier job here as he should see the trace of our search. That depends on the time since this date though.
You just have to love school holidays. I’d taken a few days off to have the kids at home but they wanted to got to Footy Finals day at the holiday school program at a local school so I organised with a caching buddy, jsmyong55 to go out north and grab a few caches while the kids were being taken care of kicking the footy and eating hot dogs. So off we went and tried to nab as many as we could in the limited time we had. It was a relatively successful day with only 4 DNF but I’m sure they weren’t there. Anyway this is one of the caches we picked up today. A nice stroll to WP1 and after a little think the GZ co-ords were found. A nice easy find at GZ. Will favourite. Thanks Alansee.
After class, it was time for a caching run with caching buddy Trailrunning to grab some caches along the north eastern suburbs. Weather as usual was lousy but we kept on. Found quite a number of caches and few DNFs today.
Good well thought off cache. Sometimes I hate caches which you don't know what to look for to get the coords and sometimes I love them (when I do find them). WP1 had us scratching our heads for a bit but keen-eyed Trailrunning noticed something out of place and we made it to GZ where the cache was found. TFTC Alansee

29/08/2011 23:26 This one looked like an interesting cache for these evenings hunt so I followed the GPS and ended up south of the river. Checking the location on Garmin maps and then Google I set off for the north entrance to the car-park. Saddled up my various torches and off I went. Luckily there is a path that seems to head in the right direction and I veered off only when it became a bit boggy. At WP1 I scratched my head a bit and searched about. Plugging in my geo-sense I then noticed something that might have been out of place and moments later I had the co-ordinates in hand (or did I ? ) A short while later I was entering the digits into the nuvifone and heading off again. At GZ I saw what looked like the clue but getting the cache required a bit more thought and a few minutes later I was stamping my entry with all the others. TFTC Alansee TNLN SL

Definitely going down as a favourite
At first I was completely stumped.
I had no idea where the coords would be and it didn't help that the GPS wasn't settled I was close to declare a DNF. However deciding to give it one more shot & after a total of 15 min's I had the little sucker tight in my hands. A fantastic job in the type of concealment.
Now off to GZ and fearing the unknown of what to expect at GZ made the hunt even more exciting After a few min's of arriving at GZ I was greeted with a few signs of muggles being close to GZ, however the cache is safe and well out of sight.
Thx Alansee for a Cleverly constructed multi.
Personal score 8/10

Found with auzziesamurai 21/7/11 @ 14:28 took forever to find firs way point great hide tftc
Just grabbing out the key to life tb I saw that this cache was disabled when I went to show my other half some of my favourite caches so I thought I would save it and place it on my way home
The damage is a bit more than anticipated so it will be a cuppla weeks before this one is back on line.
I attempted this cache during the week and found WP1. Unfortunatley the clue inside leading to the final GZ was mostly unreadable but I tried a bit of deduction and headed over to a possible GZ. After ten minutes I gave up and headed home. I contacted Alansee about the cache and he was very generous in giving me the missing numbers. As it turns out I had only one number wrong and was searching only a few metres from the correct GZ. On the way to Alansee's 9,999+1 cache event today I dropped by with my two young boys and found the cache right near where i'd been looking a few days before. Thanks Alansee.
I have just received advice that wp1 needs attention (thanks Quasar3671) so this will be off line for a cuppla days.
Second visit to this cache - not going too well here! I arrived near GZ to find someone sitting on the seat opposite, and he wasn't moving. Went and picked up the car from it's service, and returned just in case... The coast was clear! A quick grab, signed and raced off.
Thanks, Robmc.

found #217 @11:15 AM tftc brilliant cache loved wp1 thanks for the effort these are the caches that make my day
Lovely day for a walk today, with some puddle dodging on my way to wp1. Found what I was looking for then off to GZ where the growth is best described as luxuriant. Thanks for a great clue as it saved a long wet search for the cache which was found. Took GC, left TB. Thanks to alansee for a great cache in a nice part of the city, can still see debris from the earlier floods about.
Found at 11.20am by Mrs 80 on her quest to fill in some of the must cache days. Had identified the closest parking spot - but guess what - blocked by a truck so had to take option 2 - then it started to drizzle - oh well showers predicted so grabbed the coat - on the way to waypoint 1 the showers became rain but kept going. Found the waypoint and headed for GZ by this time getting a little wet. With the use of the clue the search for the cache was definately quicker SL - although the raindrops made it a little damp - then headed back to the car. Half an hour later - the sun is shining - something wrong with the timing today. TFTC Alansee
Nice to break in the new cache! Third time lucky with this one after the recent muggling. At least I knew exactly where to go this time, and it was in the first place I looked last time after all. A great cache I'd recommend to anyone. Took coin, left a swiss geocoin. Tftc!
I can now confirm that this one has indeed gone missing. It will be replaced shortly.
I have contacted the last searcher to see if they looked in the correct place or not.
Found the final coordinates, but at gz after extensive searching I only found a big suspicious looking cache- sized hole in the ground. I suspect its gone again, could the owner please check on it? By the way, don't attempt this cache without a bucket of aeroguard on you!
Bit muddy and slushy around here this morning, although the mozzies didn't seem to have a problem!
I found WP1 without any problems, and rode off to GZ.
Things were not so quick here. Looked for a while, walked thru a lot of spider webs, argued with a lot of mozzies before I gave up.
Another day.

After the last log from Toy Carr this was checked today. The cache was cleaned, dried, and offending items removed. All is now good.

Out and about this morning doing some caching on our way to our first square dance for the year. I had tried this one a couple of times before with no luck finding a clue. Finding the container was no problem but there was clues inside when I looked before. This is why I bought the troops along this time but there was no problems at at.. Nice easy find but the final location container was very wet and smelly. The log book was fine so it was a quick sign and glad to get this one finally of my books.
Love this park, thanks for bringing us here.

Out for a morning of caching with Xambo4U while we travelled to a dance.
This was our first find for the day. Xambo4U had previously attempted this one with no success, but this time we ahd no problems getting the required information and finding the cache.
The Container is in a terrible state at the moment. It was half full of water, which we drained out, but the smell left inside is very over powering. The log book is dry.

Good find at Warringal my old stomping ground! MY first today hey CJ? Took ring left Capricorn diamond - great spot!
We tried to find this today, we had beautiful weather but my iphone had us walking in circles. I thought the tree cover might be too blame. I could find the old pear trees but wasn't sure what to look for here. I read the previous posts but still the old brain box wasn't helping. What is the actual WP1? Still had a lovely walk through this area which is always a bonus.
Found WP1 reasonably quickly and loved the hide. We then could'nt find the final cache which is supposed to be easy! We did find a likely spot but no cache so will check with Alansee whether we were in the right spot. Thanks for the exercise!
I have it on good authority that there is a problem with WP1, which I will fix shortly.
Heh, nice one which had me wondering if my gps was covered by the trees - I haven't cached for awhile, so just took awhile to blow the cobwebs off with this one. The pear trees look past it, but will come back in fruit seaon to see if they fare better. Maybe a proper pruning will bring them back a bit.

First find for the day on my semi-regular Tuesday caching with bogonghazy. Got our feet VERY wet in the grass due to the overnight rain. Had a quick look at the first waypoint and when nothing obvious showed itself, we buckled down and closely examined the area pointed to. Found the clue without too much difficulty, but were puzzled by 2 sets of numbers. Decided we would try the most likely set and the cache was there.
First find on an overcast morning's caching with Reesylou.
Now this was a double bonus, 2 finds for the price of 1.
The first waypoint was very clever, just got to trust the GPSr co-ords a little more often...LOL
Then GZ left us with a choice of two spots, but the prize was quickly found nonetheless.
My thanks to Allansee for another of your high quality caches, slowly trying to tick them all off.

Glad to see that some others have found this one a bit of a challenge. My challenge was that I believed inTom Tom to much, he lead me to so the wrong place to park at the Heidi Park. My first time was trying to see if there was an access over the river, there's not. I did enjoy the walk round through as I have not been there before. Coming from the Trolls today I thought I would give it another go. The football match was in full flight when I walked by. Found GZ quickly enough, during my 20 mins looking for the co ords a couple of puppy mugglers gave me some serious stares. I thought I could see an obvious clue with the big sign on the tree, no wonder the puppy mugglers thought I was strange was I give the tree a real going over. Found co-ords ??????? in the first place I looked but not closely enough. Thought I had worked it out and went for a short walk and found an obvious kindred caches search area. Alas nothing to be found and felt very sadden of all the trampled area.I shall think on this one again before I return
Thanks for bringing me to another park world I have not been to

I got lucky on this one I think and walked straight up to it. The coords were very good and typical Alansee craftiness made for a memorable caching experience today. I visited this location when the old cache was here and I think I preferred this one. The area is quite beautiful and I'm more than happy to return in the future.

Hey, spent a while looking for it but had no idea what I was looking for, I think we were close, any help would be good. Thanks
This was cache # 17 of 23 for the day, on the second day of my two day caching trip. I really enjoyed doing this Multi no silly counting or complicated math's just a nice waypoint with a twist and the cache ended up in the right direction. There was plenty of young lovers in this park under the tress on blankets, I thought to my self I hope they are not camped at GZ, I enjoyed the walk under the shade of the oaks and was glad I did not encounter any cacher boys here. My thanks to Alansee for the cache.
Found @ 1930 by Johnny Mud, Mrs Mud and GeoSam after a mammoth 72 hour hunt. Day 1 consisted of 20 minutes at WP1 with no luck. Day 2 was a further 45-60 minutes of more frustration. Day 3 was a mere (by comparison!!!) 2 minutes at WP1 before the find was made - although we did solicit a wee hint from the owner. After slapping myself about the head for a good period of time it was off to GZ. The cache was quickly in hand with smiles of relief all round. In the end the perseverance paid off and a great time was had by all.
Throughout the earlier part of the day we spent a good few hours canoeing on the river before our return before dark - one of the benefits for us in finding this cache - a new launching point for the canoe.
T - dinosaur TB.
L - "Darwin - Drink More Beer" stubby cooler and a Matchbox Hummer.
Thanks Alansee for a great (although somewhat frustrating...) cache!!!

Well...WP1 is absolutely doing my head in. We arrived at the site and searched high and low for a good 45-60 mins. We were there so long in fact that Mrs Mud had to take GeoSam to the river for a bit of a paddle in the shallows as he was getting bored watching mum and dad look for something...apparently??? And to top it off this was our second visit in 24 hrs - during the first we searched for 20 minutes! Oh well back again tomorrow before it gets too hot - at least we found a nice spot to launch the canoe for a bit of a paddle. Try again then...
I nearly put it in the too hard basket but then logic prevailed. My GPS was spot-on on this occasion. I took a glass egg and left a dinasaur TB. Thanks Alansee. I don't always find yours on my first try.
Found with Been_there. Out for a training ride along the Main Yarra Trail. This was the third of 7 for the day - I think we might have done more caching than riding - oh well, it was a fun day.
Loved the hide at WPT1 - had us tricked for a while. And then to be followed up with psychological games - you are indeed cruel, Alansee. Thanks for the cache - it was all good fun.
By the way the tent is still there, and inhabited, we saw people coming and going. Fortunately not while we were caching.

It was a great day for caching, and I enjoyed the short walk to Wpt1. I was surprised to see a tent set up not too far from Wpt1 - no-one around that I could see. (A cheap way for a visitor to stay near town).
From Wpt1 it was off to GZ for a quick find. Thanks for a lovely walk in a beautiful area, and for the cache.

A good excuse for a late afternoon stroll. We recognised the locale of the cache from its previous incarnation but can't remember whether the tent was there or not - no activity though. Although she twigged to WP1, LZZ(f) had a momentary panic lacking suitable visual tools but YT was able to save the day and GZ was soon found. Well done Alansee! Took TB (Lamborghini?) for some upstate travel.

Ahhh, a cunning location for the first clue. Quite clever and one that nearly had me stumped. The tent and accessories are still in the area but I approached the location from the other side so didn't disturb anyone.
After tha it was a stroll back towards the car (I like these ones) and the cache was in the first place I checked.
Co-ords for both waypoints were perfect which made for a nice easy multi on this beautiful sunny morning.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Alansee for this cache experience today. How handy that the device at WP is the right size, down to the mm. A very nice area for a stroll and a place that I wouldn't have come to had it not been for geocaching.

There is a lot to like about this area and the cache enhances it in all respects.
Firstly we ran across the makeshift campground which is well equipped now for the warmer months with chair and banana lounge for those really decadent moments.
No sign of life here though.
The birds were chirping and by following the noise to where it proved loudest brought me to the clever WP1 hide.
Having some knowledge of where Alan has been and what he has seen may have helped. Featherdown was mightely impressed though.
Then a momentary look of horror followed soon after with joy and we were on our way again.
The final hide had a touch of 'Farmers' about it and we returned through the daisies and long grass to the car.
The flannelled fools were about again after their winter hiatus and two wickets fell as we enjoyed a ham sandwich at long on.
Thanks Alansee and TNLN

Our favourite cache of the 5 that we did today and a relaxing jaunt along the track to the area of WP1.
Really liked the hide here and glad I didn't have to find it myself.
I was however given the honour of uncovering the cache.

The camping ground was still in evidence but no sign of the camper as I walked to WP1. After a short search the I had the cleverly hidden WP1 in hand, and cursed printers for a moment before all became clear! The cache was soon in hand at 1:30pm and I was off back to work - gloating slightly over not needing to call the Eudes helpline!

I've been meaning to do this one before work for a while now, but I thought it might take a bit of time, so I waited 'til I had a chance to spend at least 30-40 minutes here. This morning was such an opportunity and, to make things better, it was bright and sunny and a perfect time to re-visit this area that I consider to be among the most picturesque sections of parkland along the Yarra (and a perfect spot to have filmed parts of the "Charlotte's Web" movie a year or two ago). I was also keen to test out my expensive new 'Asolo' hiking boots in some nice, wet conditions and the rain or heavy dew overnight had left the long grass absolutely sopping wet and I had a great time 'splashing' my way through it while my feet remained warm and dry! (It helped that I was wearing motorbike waterproof pants as well!) I must admit to being a bit 'taken aback' by the tent near wp1 and I can't think why the local Council would permit that to have gone on as long as it apparently has - but it sure would have been a bit damp in there this morning! Anyway, I managed to locate the sneaky wp1 almost immediately (but it's a great piece of work and I wouldn't have liked to come up against it in my early days) and then had a moment of anguish over Alansee's printer problems before being able to ascertain the final co-ordinates and then head off for an easy find .

Thanks Alansee - a great bit of work here!
PS I was brought back to earth a bit when I got back to my bike in the nearby parking area when I spotted a discarded syringe nearby (it was nowhere near either of the wps though)

The dog and I thought it was a good day to tackle a few of the caches within the magic 10km radius of home. We arrived at WP1 (no sign of life at the campground) and were stumped! I had to resort to a call to the trusty EuDes helpline (Cost: the flagfall is a bottle of red plus 1 medium pizza every 30 seconds ). He guided me my through my bout of unobserviousness and put me on the right track. The cache was then successfully recovered at 11:25.
I've always loved this area - many thanks to Alansee for the local history and the excuse for a nice walk at Sills Bend.

There was quite a bit of discussion about sides of rivers, the reliability of GPSr technology and my ability to use same, however we eventually came within coo-ee of the recommended parking area.
After a nice stroll through this really lovely area, we approached WP1. The rs asked what it was he should be searching for but to my surprise I found the information required. What a devious way to do things - and what fun!
It was then off to GZ where the cache was located easily at 12.30pm.
I took nothing, but left a couple of pathtags. I hope that cachers do take and log them, they're not a trackable and can be kept or used as a swap.
Thanks for a fun cache in a gorgeous area, Alansee.

It looked like a good morning for a walk, so I got up early (well for Saturday anyway) before the rest of the family and set out on foot for the cache. About 2 hours and 12 km later I made it to WP1 and quickly had the info needed. I wonder what the camper thinks of this? The cache was found soon after.
The area is familiar from a few caches, including "Two Bends" and other activities, and a very nice place for a walk.
Thanks for bringing me here again Alansee.
Left a TB. Left a little torch and collected the coin to add to Geodaughter's collection.

Left a TB. Left a little torch and collected the coin to add to Geodaughter's collection.
Found 12:30, a nice cache in a pleasant location.
TNLN, CSI=4, thanks Alansee.

Found this cache while out for a walk with the one year old daughter on the shoulders and wet feet from all the dew.
Plenty of beautiful morning sunshine and mist rising from the river. What a great place to come and visit. I can just imagine the whole area planted with fruit trees. They'd be starting to blossum about now.
The camper is still in evidence near WP1 but we saw no body.
Took Unite for Diabetes TB and Reunibug GC.
Cheers Alansee, thanks for a great cache (and giving me flashbacks to Screenfade

Well the mystery camper's still there- very strange.
Thanks for a nicely thought out cache. WP1 is a ripper.

We found our 30th Alansee cache at 8:40am as the 1st of 23 on our Tour de Mernda with Pprass. An early start and the first cache on the way. The dew still on the grass and as I am the only one with waterproof shoes, my feet remain nice and dry throughout the day. We passed the mystery camper on route to WP1 and thankfully, experience makes for an easy find. At GZ, we were all preoccupied at a nearby spot when "H" came up with our 111th 2TF find. Left a TB and a coin. Thanks for the cache from D & H B-A.
Having arrived home from the Cattery (luuuuurve that new road down there), it was time to restock the larder. Just as I was leaving for ye olde supermarket, I noticed this new one close to home (and the supermarket ). Given that we passed the solstice at 15:45 this arvo and there wasn't much daylight today, I was going to leave it ... until I read solomonfamily's log that is. I was totally inspired by their late night success last night, so I thought I'd try and follow in their footsteps.
I found WP1 after a shortish search (phew), and then headed to GZ for the find at 18:10, all the while feeling sorry for the owner's computer peripheral problems . A very clever cache indeed .
TNLNSL, although a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Alansee.

Found at 8.40am GAFF5 in the company of Rabbitto. We were not supposed to do any detours on our caching trip today, but as this was literally on our route, we stopped and allowed one diversion. Interesting to come back here after so many years to see that the reserve now allows squatters!
We got sucked in to the decoy and then the real cache was found soon after by Hetty.
Thanks Alansee for bringing us back to this spot.

22:23 *FTF* King Jnr and Snr. A Very pleasant evening to go caching. We were delayed setting out as King Snr had to watch the Swans loose to the Pies ! which didn't put him in a good mood. This was my first chance to really try out my new gps which did ok didn't put us correctly into the car park . Strangely we passed a camper ~60m W of WP1 as we pondered who this would be I ran into the fence not looking where I was going. Arriving at WP1 we went around in circles for about 15min until finally the torch faded and we were off the GZ - as we approached we pondered is Alansee playing with us ? A very nice cache, well put together cache - we loved WP1. Thanks again Alansee. Out: Geocoin: "RED 5's Travelling LIGO Coin"

Dropped in a Coin. My thanks here also to The Ump who kindly fixed an error in the cache page. I must be more careful!
