Everyone before me is right. There's no cache here and flooding has been here since the last find. This needs maintenance. It's a fantastic fishing location. I saw 3 birds catch fish bigger than their belies whilst paused here. I had all my fishing gear in the car with me but regretfully no bait so couldn't try to outfish the birds. This is a great place to bring people so I hope you can replace it or archive it so someone else can place one here in its stead.
The fisher person who was within 2mtres of the cache was telling me the water during the floods was thigh deep over the road, after a very quick look we moved on. we will look properly next time we are in the area. Thanks Magpye and IndigoBlue1
It was our time to head back to Queensland and just before we left, I had this one to collect. It was one in the series of caches that I was trying to complete.
I parked up right next to the cache location, funny thing is that of all the river bank to fish from a family had set up just 10 metres from the cache hide. It was a look around and I spied the cache very quickly. I made my way with the cache and the signed the log. It was then a walk back to replace the cache as found. Another in the series completed. Thank you for placing this one here, some great views and a nice spot to chill out.
A favourite point for this one

I went out to this one on a visit to the area in September 2020. It is still very much in place and just visible from the bank if you know where to look. Unfortunately this one must be done at low tide or expect to get wet feet.

Tried hard to find it and nothing. I can sort of guess what the cache camouflage is but was unsuccessful perhaps my guess is wrong anyway
Came out to look for it while camped at Bundjalung NP. Waited for a fisherman to leave then had a look around, but couldn't spot it.

Today was a day of moving camp. We're camped at the Mclean showgrounds to cache here & over to Illuka.
A lot of scenic water ways & wonderful ocen views, even spotting a whale while doing a cache.
A pleasant day with fish & chips for lunch beside the river.
With the tide advancing we scoured the area looking for this tiny cache. I felt something that different to it's surround & lucky for us it was the cache. We were just at the point of calling it a DNF. FP for this sneaky hide & the great location of the island hoppers.
Thanks for placing this cache Magpyre

Ze second time... is how you say...?... a charm?
Naughty me didn't DNF this cache either (sorry Magpyre). One week ago I came to GZ and literally searched for hours. I had smashed my phone during an earlier cache and was trying to cache by a car Garrmin (I may as well been using Captain Cook's sextant for all the good it was).
However, the car Garmin DID put me at the correct GZ (once or twice) - but I still could not find it. I had no information or logs on the cache to read. I gave up disappointed. Islandhopper 1 is my last cache to get in the series.
Back home in Brisbane, I messaged Magpyre and asked if I was looking in the right area. Indeed I had been. But I was also provided with some more information.
My DNF was playing on my mind all week. Crew 153 and I decided to come back down and have another crack. Back at GZ. Thankfully no fishermen. I asked Crew 153 to tell me where his GPSr was pointing. Surprisingly, not too far from where the car Garmin indicated.
I went to.... one of... my familiar GZs and started the hunt........... Sweet Mother of Pearl - thar she be! THAT is one good hide. I hope your ears weren't burning, Magpyre Even though I was so frustrated I missed this, I will defend myself by saying the silly car GPS had put me in 3 other spots in a 20m radius of here We signed the log and returned it to its home. The cache was in excellent condition.
My 10th and final Islandhopper cache. I started the series in November 2010 - and here we are with finishing it in February 2018. No need to rush these things
This - and all the other Islandhoppers have been really fun caches, Magpyre. Thanks for sharing the local area to everyone. TFTC

Fangsoki and i were on a day trip to pick up a few targeted caches and this one was on the list so that Fangsoki could brag that he had found all of the Islandhopper caches.
He had been here before with no luck and had been given a hint from the CO,
We arrived today to find the tide was well in but that did not deter Fangsoki who headed in to search for the cache and he found it straight away this time.
Well, that is the series for him but I will have to come back as there are a few more that i have to find before i can get bragging rights.

Sad too say no go today . This my second go and much too my disappointment could not change my blue face to yellow one .
Sorry Magpyre. This is our third time unlucky here and not for the want of looking high and low. The rubbish scattered here by fishermen disgusted us. We would normally pick it up...but.... (Wandering Me & Baby Birt)

We didn't get to look for this cache at all. As we arrived near GZ there were several cars with people fishing along the bank and one gentleman was casting his float right out from GZ. We did park 100m up the road, watching the boats go by, but there was no sign that anyone was near leaving, so we abandoned, very disappointed after the long drive from Yamba. Maybe next visit.
While babysitting the geograndbabes we went kite flying on top of the lighthouse point. Not only fabulous kite flying wind but a cache & wonderful dreamtime story. TFTC
Searching out caches I had not found and this popped up but I found it last year with DiamonJs, this log will turn it into a smile. TFTC
The gps took us, like a previous log, between two trees. However one now has been cut down. Found a torn and wet log bag near by but not else. Sorry.
It's a good Sunday afternoon for a drive. Went to find this one but on getting to what I think was GZ found 2 families fishing there. So had to abort the mission. Leaving Iluka tomorrow but have liked the place so hope to return and find this one. Oh well, as I said it is a good afternoon for a drive.
Thanks anyway Magpyre

The updated co-ordinates are not correct. I have checked and the replacement is still in place.

Found at 11:14 AM GAFF?.
The co-ords took us between two clumps of trees and the rocks and ground revealed nothing - and nothing above head height.
So we looked in the nearby trees and after a while we found a piece of plastic cone that we thought may have been the cache container. So a log sheet was put in and the "container" placed up in the tree in a little nook. Check out the adjusted co-ords.
Thanks Magpyre.

Went back to check new cache container and it is still in place and still in pristine condition. You DO NOT need to climb any trees to find this one. It is reachable from ground level.

Cache moved sometime ago. The original location became dangerous due to unstable branches. It is now reachable from ground height about 2 metres from original location. Co-ordinates are the same.

I feel that I was at GZ,!! But no cache, there is evidence of soughts .... thanks Magpyre to bring me here..
I think this would count as one of my easiest finds and wonder if some cover hasn't been stripped away. Anyway log was saturated and unreadable so I cleaned container and put a replacement one in. TFTC
I have a BIG milestone coming up and am needing to get the numbers just right for the correct week-end.
So a big day out caching is needed. I basically have gone from Maclean to Grafton to Casino to Lismore today for about 50 caches.
I started here and found this one quickly just before 6am.
The log is very wet.
Thanks for caches everyone.

Missed it on the first look but walked out and spotted it coming back in. Being short and with the wind blowing made this hard to retrieve then we couldn't sign the log because it was soggy. TFTC.
Last one for the day. Enjoyed the drive down to here and just up from indicated GZ there was a couple fishing. Spent about twenty minutes here looking every where and could not find the container. Read the additional hint again and a few past logs and then walked away. I started walking back watching my step on the rocks and the incoming water and then happened to look from the river back towards the shore and spied this one. Very clever hide and tricky to retrieve with incoming tide. TFTC Magpyre. A favourite point from me.
Found It - - great spot, fishing any good here ? not sure what to look for, nice and easy
Visiting from Newcastle, staying at the Riverside Caravan Park in Maclean, top spot here, lots of fisherfolk, this filled a blank spot in my D/T matrix, TFTC Magpyre!!
Replaced by new cache in original spot. It is tied in and had to be opened in situ. If anybody finds the "easier" location please remove it. This one was designed to be difficult to retrieve and has been marked so by the terrain and difficulty ratings.

Quick find but almost too hard for oldies to retrieve. Relocated slightly easier spot.
Rough ride to get there, rough trip over the water to find it but loved every minute of it! Best cache we have done so far.
Pleased noone was around for our visit...very tricky..worthy of the 4 stars....thanks for the challenge Magpyre
Great spot. Found this one at night and think that using a torch may have helped. Number 1 son was keen to retrieve this one. Nice and dry although the keyring had rusted through and broken. Was just hanging on. We had a spare so were able to fix it. Next time we will bring the fishing rods. TFTC.
Great geocache I really enjoy this luckily I had the balance to get this one, I think It deserves a favourite point

0100 GAFF1 Got the torch light just right, and found it! Then just to get it! Glad I'd had a go at placing some tricky caches, and had experience in this.
In the process of (hopefully) getting a bunch of caches found for December (x 75 is the plan), for getting my 'Masters in Geocaching Science'. Then it will be on to the Doctorate, if all goes well in 2013.
Nice find, nice and dry, even tho I didn't see an O-ring. Not able to leave a Correct Site Marker.
Brought through for mileage: trackable shirt, nothing else would have fitted

While heading North to catch up with Cookie, MVMB and ourselves dropped by a few caches on the way.
This took sharp eyes and good balance, which we have, so it was a fun one.

Nice to be able to share the driving rather than having to pedal.
The discolouration didn't help with the Finding of it, but still got there

Ah, yes, we did find it. This is a hard cache to spot until you do see it. Then you wonder why it took so long to see it. These days it's not so bright and the salt air is starting to have its way with it. Fortunately I managed to be at just the right angle to spot it. Now, how to get it. Two old codgers are long past the required activity, we thought. Where are those grandchildren when we need them. Yes, went home yesterday. Well, there's just nothing for it. We'll have to do it. Geohubby managed the agility and balance required and provided the log for me to sign. Now the harder part. Getting the bottom back to the top.
Lol!.
Geohubby, aka Aussie Bob, wants me to mark this occasion in the log: he was suspended at just the time when Michael Clarke scored his triple century in the Test Match which was being played today.

#78. Found late this afternoon, a wild windy day. Managed to sneak in between showers. TNLN. SL.
If the Fishing wasn't going to bring us along this section of the river then the Geocache definitely was. Pulled up near GZ and also near another fisherman. Some of us started to fish while a couple of us wandered to GZ to get an eyeful of the cache. Yep it was easy enough to see.... how to get it down surreptitiously was going to be the problem. Thankfully after a few moments the fisherman left and we were able to use some creative means to obtain the cache. Thankyou Magpyre for another Island Cache.
Bessie's-Mob helped me to access this one.

Like most people driving to Iluka, I had no idea that there was an island to starboard [:o]
My Geocaching travel guide revealed this delightful detour to me this morning [^]
So I set off on what would be my first island hop for the caching day
Crossing the bridge the scenery changed to cane fields until the north bank was reached.
Along the way another little secret was revealed.
I have always wondered where they hide the ship that shuttles back and forth to supply Lord Howe and Norfolk Islands when it isn't at sea.
Good to see that the big river still sees some big boats
A bit further along the bank I found a great fishing spot.
After a quarter hour of the GPS baiting me with a set of coords to search, I finally caught me a cache
I reckon that the terrain rating is spot on as it took another 10 minutes to work out how to grab the little blighter [:o)]
A fun cache in a beautiful place,
Thanks Magpyre [^]
PS: The 'new' attachment has rusted through, but the cache should be secure for now !!

The clip holding the cache is getting rusty and may not last much longer.

An interesting drive in although did get a good looking at by a fisher muggle as I drove by. Good thing I was wearing my trusty Crocs to negotiate the find. TFTC

A sneaky little hide this one. Our first find of a day on the river with the Holminators. We all looked around aimlessly for a while until Mrs Herbz clambered a little further than the rest and soon spotted this brightly coloured cache. TFTC.
Last one of this series that we are doing this trip as we were doing them in reverse order (only have islandhopper 8 to go now). This one was probably the funnest one to find. TFTC and thanks for this series.
Knowing the two that placed this cache, I hunted around for a bit before getting the specific information about who hid it. Knew exactly where it was after that. Nice hide.
Thanks,

Took a while to find but got there in the end. Fairly quiet along the river today. I guess most holiday makers are on the road for home.
Not sure about the diff/terr for this one. Diff + Terr on this one came to 7. I did a 24km hike to Mt Worendo last weekend climbing to 1100m, across creeks and finally bush bashing the last 70m and Diff + terr only made it to 6. You can drive to within 25m.
What I'm try to say is don't be put off by the attributes on this one. Nowhere as difficult as it looks. A beautiful spot to visit and camp if you are lucky enough.
