After leaving the King's Canyon area we went for the Mereenie Loop and further to Alice Springs and of course we did look for some caches on the way. And we found several including this one.We enjoyed the drive and the different stops on the way.Team Mavos - Albert and Maria
It was heating up this morning. We dodged the spikey bushes on the way to GZ and were interested to spot a stash of 2L water bottles along the way. Thanks for the leg stretch and cache.
Found with SJG66 on a spectacular day spent checking out the West Macdonnell Ranges. TFTC.
Our NEW ZEALAND - TASMANIA - AUSTRALIA JOURNEY takes us to beautiful places and provides us with an incredible number of wonderful moments and experiences.Occasionally we also visit a few GeoCaches along the way.On the drive... from Ormiston Gorge to Standley Chasm we stopped here to sign the guestbook.... According to my GPS, I found the cache at 7 metres in the off...!Thank you for placing, maintaining and caring snapfish2 from SwitzerlandPS: Translated with the Deepl app
Really magical place. We spent a night in the lookout and it was great to see sunset and sunrise. Thank you for the cache.
OCW PelDroedGwin We had towed the caravan past here early in the day but with Levin the geocat and Peppa the geodog in the car we werent able to stop at National Park locations. We dropped the van at our camp for the evening, settled the furry ones, jumped back in the car and headed back to the spots wed missed. Stunning views here ! Tftc
Our bus stopped here just long enough for me to walk out and find this geocache. Greetings from San Francisco, California and TFTC!
With no service ( despite the mobile tower) and wearing our best Chinese safety boots (thongs), we braved the prickles to have a bit of a look for this one with no GPS, just a rough idea from the last time I looked at it with service. We conceded defeat but as I hoped back in the car I remembered I had downloaded an Alice Springs list for offline use...maybe it's in there. BINGO, it was so we headed, again, through the prickles with lots of shouting ouch to sign the logbook.
Range View1.0/2.5 Small Traditional Cache Terrific day with Bug and Co targeting Stuart's Pass to complete my 12th Loop! Went to Glen Helen Gorge as well, even though I've already done the cache there, but it was closed due to wildfires. Also learnt from American adventurers we met at Glen Helen's Gorge entrance that Redbank Gorge had a closed sign too. We went as far as Mt Sonder Lookout then back and tried Ormiston Gorge. Visited Serpentine Dam and Gorge and the Lookout and planted new caches while in the area.Thank you for the cache redcenterdazza. We tried the mobile booster but it didn't work. Quick find at gz.
Lots of spinifex.....but geo-hubby braved the spikes wearing shorts and sandals and found the cache. Cheers and tftc
We drove all day yesterday from Kings Canyon, including a brief detour to Gosse's Bluff, so we were very glad to reach this peaceful spot last night. This morning, before we headed off again toward Alice Springs, I walked over here to find this cache. Such lovely views from here and the stars last night were incredible!
Thanks for find #4733

Plesaed to grab a pre 2010 cache at the roadside.
This trip was sort of in place of a trip to a Mega that got canceled due to accommodation problems, I was quite happy when Goose said do you fancy to caching break in the Northern Territory as this would be the last State or Territory for me in Australia.
Our plan was to fly into Darwin on the Friday night have a couple days in the area then start heading South stopping overnight whenever we needed to, our next goal was the drive to the geographic centre of Australia at Lambert Centre and then head back to Alice to fly home ten days later.
We both had a great trip finding some important old caches, large ones and the odd clever one too, we found Ammo Cans all over the place which was nice as i think we have found most of the ones at home in Tassie.
Thanks for the cache.

A quick walk around to locate the cache. My friend was first to spot it and I think we have a cacher in the making. TFTC
We are staying here overnight and decided to grab this one. We watched an awesome sun rise and then I headed down to find the cache.
A nice quick find avoiding the spinifex I startled a couple of birds on my return. Everything is OK with the cache. Thanks for placing

Little hike across the rocks to the cairn and nice little GZ. Dropped a TB on its way
Didn't think there would be anywhere to hide a cache but apparently there was. Quickly found at gz.
Great location. Only pulled over to try the satellite service and yes a cache nearby. No pen so took a photo of log. Thanks
quick find. replaced container as it was damaged
Mogni and myself went to the Northern Territory for a 10 day holiday. We drove 5478 km's in those 10 days. The plan was to go up the Sturt highway and then go via Ayers Rock, King's Canyon and then through to Alice Springs stopping at the gorges/chasm/gaps along the way. As you can expect nothing goes to plan. Day 1 Adelaide to Cooper Pedy, made it just before the Roxby Downs turn off and blow the side wall on the tire of the 4x4, 193 km detour just to get a tire and even then it was the second tire place that had the tire the correct size. We had camels come in to the campsite in Erldunda Roadhouse, they even left hoof prints 1/2 a foot from the tent, at King's Canyon we had dingo's come through the camp ground both nights we where there and at Alice springs we had a mouse move in under the tent in their campground. Some of the aboriginal towns we passed where in lock down because of covid 19 so no going in to get fuel there, that changed some plans. The floods where way worse up in Northern Territory than i realized. Some creeks/rivers i could see the debris over 2 meters from the river bed and down one 4x4 track it washed the road away completely, the hole was 3/4 the length of the 4x4 and over 6 foot deep. The temp was 33 to 36 for 9 of the 10 days and finally cooled down for the drive home. We got 7 different caches types in the N.T. plus every different cache size. It was a good trip but not the one we planned. To many of the roads in the N.T. where damaged and not repaired ( still closed ) so that cancelled plan A but that's just a excuse to come back isn't it. Come back and see what you missed last time when the roads are fixed. We came with 19 regular " geocaching size " containers and a milk crate of small containers by day 7 all the regulars where used as replaced caches and by day 8 the smalls where gone. It was the UV rays a lot more than the floods that killed the caches and almost all the log books where saved, the micro containers seemed to have constantly full log sheets so they where replaced too.

Sir_spectre and I went on a long overdue holiday to the Northern Territory. We had some great experiences and saw some amazing natural wonders. Not all went to plan - covid closures, flood effected roads, renovations, hot weather, some car troubles and not forgetting the huge jump in fuel costs
Any caches that needed repairs were fixed and numeous logs were replaced or added too.
Thanks to redcenterdazza from mogni

This cache was easily found but the container is broken and it needs maintenance urgently. The view of the West Macdonnell ranges is magnificent though.
Found quickly with Nukky13, what a lookout! Especially in late afternoon. Cache container is pretty obliterated so maybe worth some maintenance at some point, sorry didn't have a replacement container.

We've come up to the centre to meet up with the kids and grandies who are on the last weeks of their around Aus year long lap.

After following the coast along Our lap year (so not going to be a year, more like 3!) has taken us inland now.
The Flinders Ranges the first major stop, somewhere we had previously visited but not explored fully. Gosh I love the colours of the Landscape, beautiful contrasting colours and textures- Rocks and my favourite tree Eucalyptus camaldulensis all just looking beautiful
Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, Oodnadatta, Alice Springs and Uluru all major stops on the way as we head further north. EarthCaches, Virtuals, Letterboxes and Old caches taking priority. Other caches along the way too of course. (Just enough so my family don’t get sick of caches) In an attempt to not get confuddled or fall behind I’m using a generic log (sorry) Thanks for being one of the caches we found along the way. TFTC

Found during a fun day out with JJ52 where we tackled the Larapinta loop and cached along the way. Both of us kept commenting on the variety of landscapes and vegetation seen during the drive.
Another stop, another cache and more great views.
Thanks for the cache redcenterdazza.

A day out with sushilord had been organised heading for Hermannsburg and doing the loop calling in to St Helens and picking up as many caches as we could along the way. We had both solved the puzzle caches along this route and they were targeted as we went past. [^]
It was a near perfect caching day, with 27 caches found, lots of amazing scenery, history and geology with numerous photos taken where we stopped. This was the highlight of my visit to Alice Springs.
One thing I will remember about caching in Alice Springs is....rocks, rocks and more rocks.
More nice views and a quick find.

In dieser verbrannten Umgebung hatte ich kaum Hoffnung, den Cache zu finden, aber der Kompass fuehrte mich genau hin. Glueck gehabt. TFTC
Got the caravan up to top with loop road at top to turn. View was amazing. Cache in good condition, but keep covered out of sun. TFTC
What a nice view!! TFTC, Miss Metals temp take away container is holding up ok.
Enjoying our exploration of the West MacDonnell ranges. We popped in here for the view and to find the cache. Chinese take away container is holding up well. Sorry we had nothing to improve on it. TFTC
Nice drive through MacDonell NP. Impressive landscapes full of colour. We enjoy the sun and make several stops for some walks and to log some geocaches. TFTC

We are heading off on an outback adventure with Mrs Just a Trifle looking forward to visiting Goodward Station in Boulia, which was once owned by her grandfather, and Mr Just a Trifle hoping to climb Ayers Rock before it is permanently closed to climbing
As usual, with responsibilities caring for grand children and elderly parents, we still can not take the time we would really like to explore this great land of ours so yet again it is mostly an express trip through some terrific locations.
We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you redcenterdazza for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Tenkae's Outback Adventure Day 8 - out exploring the West MacDonnell Ranges and grabbing a couple of caches along the way. Fire has been through here recently but wow! Totally missed this cache by centimeters. Tftc
FOUND!! Hasn’t been logged since a major fire burnt through this area a few months ago. Decided to have a look anyway. Found it! Container very melted, but logbook and swaps inside were undamaged! Had to break the container to get logbook out, so replaced container with the only thing I had in the car, a Chinese takeaway container, I do t know how long that will last sorry.

Hard fight to get to the cache. It's well defended by millions of biting ants and a maze of spikey spinifex grass. We are proud to have logged this one. Maybe bugspray is a good advice for our fellow cachers. Thank you redcenterdazza for this experience and the cache.
During our great roadtrip through Australia we spent a great day out in the West MacDonnell Range and found a lot of caches. This was one of them.

I found this cache together with B.F.Pierce during our wonderful vacation in Australia. We drove four weeks with a camper van through this amazing country from Alice Springs to Sydney. We enjoyed the great people, wildlife and countryside so much. Thank you for the great cache! Best regards from Germany!
Erin1405 and I did a round trip from Alice Springs down South along the coast and ended up in Sydney. We had a marvellous time on this amazing continent viewing a lot of new and beautiful impressions. Of course we searced and found some caches just like that one. Thanks a lot for hiding and many greetings from Germany.
Flew up to Alice Springs for a conference, then met up with e.gregory1 for an epic road trip through the West MacDonnell Ranges, Mereenie Loop Rd, Kings Canyon, Luritja Rd, Ernest Giles Rd, Finke Gorge NP, Hermannsberg, Larapinta Drive, back to the Alice then down the Stuart Hwy to Adelaide, with awesome sights and great caches along the way. Thanks for the cache redcenterdazza!
After spending four days travelling up on my own from Adelaide, I met up with FeatherWaite in Alice Springs for a few days of travelling around and caching.
We visited various places in the West Macdonnells, including Hugh Gorge, then went out to Kings Canyon, up the Finke Gorge track to Hermannsburg, into Palm Valley, then back to Adelaide, taking a week in all. We saw, and camped in some fantastic places, although the late September weather was a little warm!
Another quick find as we made our way west. Thanks redcenterdazza for the cache.

Very tricky walking through spinifex in shorts and thongs without suffering too much. Found in fairly short order (thankfully!). TFTC.
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9690. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.
We pulled up here today with the Usat's. A short spiky walk and the cache was in hand. How amazing that two friends from 200km apart could end up out here finding caches. I love caching.

very ouchie!! I was facinated with the alternative technology mobile reception idea - didnt work for my telstra android samsung though!
We stopped for the view during our trip to the West MacDonnells, and thought that a trip to the cache was in order. We met some fairly spiky plants along the way, but returned to our vehicle relatively unscarred. Hope that these plants don’t get introduced to Tassie! TFTC
