A beautiful day up here today. Glorious to be out. Found the cache straightaway, thank you, and cleaned it up a bit. Logbook is nice and dry. Track is a bit muddy though after the recent rain.
Found at the end of another long walk. Up to the transmission line. Hot and sweaty after this last climb. Worried might be not one for my nerves, but an easy find. Time to sit on the rock and admire the views as I eat a banana and drink a can of Dandelion and Burdock.
Wet'n'sloggy, wet'n'sloggy, just take your time, watch where you put your feet and you'll be fine.
Cache was found in excellent condition. Soak in the views, soak in the surroundings. Thank you for the cache.

Returned box to original placement. All good inside, this one keeps nice and dry. Replaced non-functioning pen.
At long last. My last trip up here was in pre geocaching days and since then I've been on the cloud forest walk at least four times but never made the detour up here. Today was my lucky day to organise a walk so this was targeted. It is also a day where I want at least two finds. Cache was beside the rock, not under and has been signed by muggles. All nice and dry inside. I tucked it under and out of sight. Great weather and views today.
Wow what a great view, thanks for showing. Spotted the box too but did not open or sign given the circumstances.
Nice dry cache! Some confusion over my boulders, but easy find when I concentrated on the coordinates . Tftc. Lovely spot.
A lovely evening stroll or rather clamber up to this cache. We approached along the Skyline track from Pigeon flat road - twas rather muddy but the track was clear. Started to question whether we'd find the cache given the number of hint items we passed but the co-ordinates were spot on. After unloading the geobubs and the ten point fastening systems we only needed a brief explore to locate the cache. Funnily enough I have a photo of the geohound sat on top of this very spot - never knowing about the cache. TFTC # 246
Immediately a favourite. Well with the climb and muddy boots. What a view! Cache an obvious find.
From the title and the logs it sounded like that there was a good view to be had here. I was in the mood for a bit of a walk so I thought I might go check it out. And yes the view is great from up there, I wasn't disappointed. Thanks
A lovely afternoon stroll around Sullivans Dam and then R decided she wanted to go up this track. K wasn't complaining being there was a cache at the lookout and apparently a pretty good view. Made our way up and track was ok other than a few muddy patches and a big tree across one part but was easily climbed over. Got to the top and thought GPS was playing up as there was no way I was going down there! Walked around for a bit and then spotted the track entrance going down which is becoming a bit overgrown. Phone battery was getting low by this stage so glad it was a quick find when finally in the right place. Amazing views which we took in for a good 10 minutes before making our way back down the way we had come up. Really enjoyed the hike up here and of course the views. TFTC
The dog decided to take us for a walk around the dam so we thought we would have a bit of a wander up the track and see what we could find. Had a bit of a rain issue but we pushed on anyway. Lovely views at the top, may have to go back one day when the weather is better. Was a quick find once we hit the right spot. Carried on around the loop and found out quite quickly the bottom half of the track is a little treacherous in the wet. All in all a great afternoon out. Tftc
Stopped at the wrong group of rocks before I searched on my phone and had to head downhill then come back up as I was going over towards the road.
I'm not sure why we have never looked for this cache before . . . . we were on a track maintenance work party and slowly worked our way up the hill, clearing overhanging trees off the track. As we got closer to the boulders I remembered there was a cache here that we hadn't found yet. No GPS or phone on us so we looked for this one 'blind'. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
The view is well worth the effort in getting here. We used our caching sense to find this one, and had a hand on it in about 1/2 a minute. Cache is nice and dry. Found with debsnz
Almost found twice when we inadvertently did the loop track by mistake, found with JRB5050 and the dog. Great views TFTC
We were lucky that the weather hadn't really clagged in yet when we found this cache, the first on our walk through the Cloud Forest of the Leith. We enjoyed this spot with the view so much that it seemed like a great idea to mis-interpret where the loop track joins as the junction and go around to see this lovely spot again! Found with PC Sniff and Poppy the dog. Thanks for placing this cache on a great walk.
What an awesome view, and a great walk up (we came the same way as Fluffyduck had). Rainbow added to the view, too- see photo. Cache is nice and dry. Earns a favourite from us.

Parked up at the start of Pigeon Flat Road, crossed and entered the bush via a set of steps set in the clay bank. The bush walk provide shelter from a cool southerly and after a bit of rock hopping my GPS bought me to this grand viewing point. A visual inspection failed to locate the cache site, but after resorting to feeling my way, I got lucky and bagged the cache.
Convinced Lady Muggle-ade to let me attempt this one with a wee detour on the way back to the car as we had taken a wrong turn earlier and ended up kms away. Great view but took a while to locate the cache, as always making hard work of something that isn't that hard. After 4 hours of fun in a new part of Dunedin for me, we headed back to the car muddy but ready for a beer to toast the successes of the day.
The lookout is called the Leith Saddle Lookout, or something similar and is the left turn at the Y in the path 10 minutes up from Sullivans Dam.

Whew. Glad my arms were long enough. Cache seems more in than under:). TNLN. HOTA
First ever geocach, thanks to the Garmin 62SC. Came in from the top. Sat and enjoyed the view, then got on with the job. Went down to far but found the cache on the way up. All is well with the cache nice and dry. On to the next More of a gap than most.
Slogged up in the early evening, lots of mud but stout boots are the key.
Fun at the boulders, went too far down and thought I'd spotted a likely hidey hole but squirmed in vain. Found it while regaining the top boulder.
Left a Teddy bear stamp. TNSL

A good wander up to the view point. Great look out at the top. Looks like a lot of work has gone into the "board walks" on the track. Unfortunately Mrs D came to grief on way down when she lost her footing on the boards. Thus our plan to proceed further along Cloud Forest altered as we slowly and carefully returned to car. TFTC
A good view indeed. After getting fascinated with the wrong area i went further up and quickly found the cache.
Cheers indeedily.

Foolishly thought this track might be runable but soon discovered otherwise. Wasn't able to run it but glad it wasn't too muddy. Parked at the top of the motorway and came in via the extension track. Great views from the Boulders on a beautiful clear sunny Dunedin day. Cache was a quick find and I took off to find the next one in a hurry...only to find myself back here 10 minutes later after taking a wrong turn and ending up on a loop track! An enjoyable run around anyway! TFTC.
The first of 3 caches on the Cloud Forest walkway today. There has been a lot of work done with sections of boardwalk. Superb view from this cache. TFTC

Grabbed this on the way to the summit via the Cloud Forest track. Finally some decent weather, and someone to do the tramp with. Great.

Dropped off Postal Bear after a stay in town visiting some of our old Post Offices
We (the whole family) were last up here in 2005, the boardwalk sections of the track had not been completed and I have vivid memories of the thick mud, and especially swinging from tree to tree trying to stay upright while attempting to keep out of the mud. No problem with the track to day. It was great to be back here, the views are wonderful. This was the fourth cache today for the “boys” and I in the hills above the dam.
Thanks

Easy find (with clue) at a great, and lesser known, spot. Visiting these spots is what geocaching is all about.

Logging my two finds the wrong way round unfortunately. This was the second for the afternoon and my 1100th cache. Fabulous view.
This was a bit of a grunt, the track it being well maintained , just the last 70m needs some work.
Great view from the top. Grabbed the TB
Many Thanks Bitsprayer

Following in nofs footsteps again, albeit 9 days later this time. Nice to get along a track I've not been on before (approached from the motorway / Leith Saddle entry). Glad I didn't 100% trust the GPSr near GZ, it had me with another 160m to go to the West - then I noticed the accuracy - 149m! TFTC.
Awesome walk! Dark and wet and snowy up the top. FTF at about 7am, time to get home for a shower before work. Fantastic walkway too - thanks heaps.
