Visited this spot a few months ago and couldn't search , too many muggles so revisited today when we were back in the area, no one there so able to search. Unfortunately we found a ??magnet and what looked like half a case. I will email a photo to the CO to see if what we found was the cache. Great spot and interesting history so still worth the visit.

Found in company with some muggles being introduced to geocaching. They're hooked! (Pun unintended)

A lovely spot and great history, well done to the rescue of this building and providing an area for people to enjoy. unfortunately we could visit but not hunt...a family was fishing and kept watching us so will be back........
Quick easy find thanks to the hint. Thanks for bringing us here. Neat little spot. TFTC Found with GrandpaRusty
Unfortunatley there were a couple of cars of teenagers having a smoke when we pulled up, so had to give this one a miss today.
A few fishing muggles here today but managed to get in and out without being noticed. TFTC
Next day heading South... some caches grabbed sadly some missed!
Grabbing a few caches in the area while passing through on our 'how ever long it takes' NZ tour.
Thanks for setting this up.

After a couple of trips in which there were too many fishing muggles to make a quick find, we finally had the spot to ourselves and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC, awesome spot, have driven past many times but never stopped.
First cache of the day... pretty easy find, picturesque place =) Found with ProPax. TFTC!
Saw the sun shining on the lovely buildings at GZ as we drove along the main road. The scenery got even better as we took the small side road to get to GZ. What a great place for a cache! Loved it here. This is avoyagers idea of a perfect "holiday home" albeit a few modifications would be needed to make it wind and water tight. No muggles at all and after a brief search soon had the cache in hand. TFTC, gets a favourite.
We are in NZ from Australia on Chippyroo's Middle Earth Caching Quest. We stayed the night at the holiday park just down the road. We had the place to ourselves for a quick find. Beautiful little fishing spot with shelter from the weather! TFTC
grabbed this one with rhodzrunner and familes on our way back from Leigh, lovely spot to sit and fish. TFTC.
3rd Cache of the day out with BarkingmadNZ... had a good talk to the local fishers who had always wondered why cars would arrive, people would get out looking suspicious then quickly drive away again.. they know now as we got muggled as we retrieved the cache. One of the fishers was a Auckland City Coucil man who was aware of the game we play and has promised his lips are sealed

What a great fishing spot. I am keen to come back and give it a try.
Thanks to karwave for the cache placement.

Thanks, karwave, for getting this one back up and running in time for my visit.
Had to wait for a couple of muggles to leave in their truck.
Cheers for the cache.

We were able to have a good look as there wasn't a soul in sight (neither on land nor out at sea). Unfortunately, no cache found. We sat down in an appropriate looking spot and found a magnet in the shape of a washer, but that's all. Did we find the wrong thing, or does it sound like it's gone AWOL?
Nevertheless, enjoyed reading the information panel and learning a bit of local history. Thanks for bringing us here.

Fishermuggles just packing up as we left allowing Mr and Mrs Pastamaker to romantically watch the evening sun glimmer on the water and oh! Here's a cache!

4020 Managed to find this quickly as we were rushing to ensure we could make the crossing to horseshoe island on the low tide. TFTC
6331 Many thanks for highlighting this historical fishing spot... missed out last time when it was muggled. TFTC.
Arrived at GZ but a man was sitting on THE point fishing. I waited till he was distracted talking to his family and stole the bounty from beneath the bottom... A member of Team Welsh then went around the other way to engage him in conversation so I could put the cache back again... Team Welsh swears she would never be as obsessive about getting a cache... but do we believe her? t4tc
Found without any probs, but didn't sign log as couple fishing at other side, so didn't want to raise any suspicion!
Nice spot + interesting reading history of wharf + area. The Jane Gifford mentioned on one othe boards (on way in) is now restored and moored at the wharf in Warkworth

Muggles having an elaborate picnic in the hut .... could not get close. Another time.
Found in no time. 2nd go but with 24under belt got better knowledge of these hides. Tftc
Quick easy find. There was a large fishing boat docked at the pier but no fisherman in sight. TFTC
There was a fishing boat tied up, but the tide had gone out and it was sitting on the bottom going nowhere! Nice little side trip. TFTC
Easy find we used to ski here years ago good to see the wharf all done up. Saw some muggles show up when we were there however they started looking a bit dodgy, sending only the kids out hanging around, when we drove off only then does all the adults get out of the car, we reckoned they to could have been Cachers! Only the log will tell.
Found after a quick stealth move by one of our younger cachers due to a few fisherman around, what a great spot thanks.....
This Focal Point has an interesting history. How quickly things change. Hard to imagine this quiet little spot was such a busy area, and not so very long ago. Thanks for bringing us here.

Found it on our 4th attempt.
First time it was missing
Second time there were some people from Brazil fishing, nice to chat but no chance to retrieve cache.
Third time there were even more people fishing, did not want to compromise hiding place as we were pretty sure where it was.
Fourth time lucky. Decided low tide was the time to visit with the hope that no-one would be there Success and cache was in hand very quickly right where we thought. TFTC

Easy find whilst on way back with friends from a day at Goat Island beach. Not sure what the chap thought I was doing whille he was having a quiet smoke though! Tried to explain geocaching, and to advise him to leave the cache there, but I think he thought I was a mad Englishwomen! Many tbanks
We agree, sp8sm8. It's also much more fun to find something when it is actually there. No problems today. No muggles nearby. Low tide allowed for a look under the building. And for the first time, we saw how to haul a boat onto a trailer.

It's much easier to find them when there is something to find, much happier return visit.

2.35pm. Called in while showing a friend around the area. Had lunch just before across the water at Pt Wells. Ignored the temptation to walk across at low tide. Thought I may have to leave it because of a fisherman muggle but managed to make the pick up and replace while he was distracted.
Thank you. David and Noeline

Looked and looked, fishing no good for us today... used a PAF to confirm location of hide, believe the focal point is no longer there... It may pay to check. Nice spot, many thanks for bringing us here.

oh dear, the local muggles may of tumbled this one again will disable and check today
Hmm. On our first visit, we had to restrict our search area to only half the possibilities because of fishermen. We came back later that day to find the place deserted, but to also find: no cache. Must be well hidden.
We nearly missed this one today as we thought it was missing however a last minute check revealed that it had recently been replaced. Quickly reversed the car and we were back on the trail. Took a little while to locate as its a great hide T4TC.
After 1/2 an hour of searching we were at a total loss as to where it could be, so called a recent finder. He was able to describe the hide in great detail, but there was no cache there or any remnants of.
Enjoyed the spot anyway and look forward to comming back.

Also looked for cache on 4 and 6th of September. No sign after extensive searching. Glad to see we didn't fail this one...now failure rate for our geocaching holiday in the area is reduced to 1:30. Good spot for a cache though.
Very quiet at this location today. Looks like a magic spot for fishing. TFTC
No one about and a quick find. Would of been annoyed to miss that find, well done.

There was no muggles in the area which made for a quick find but I can see muggles would make this hard
16:14 - Ran out after lunch (yes late lunch, caching got in the way) for some local caches. Nice spot with views of Omaha and Point Wells. Great hide as well, very sneaky...
Thanks for the cache!

Out doing some maintenance on one of ours and we thought we'd stop by. With the tide coming in it was a magical spot. It is great that there are people who are bothered/interested enough to preserve places like this. Collected a bag of pinecones near by after we made the find.
GRAET FIND
nice spot it was the 2nd place we looked

Nice hide.
Nice hide.
First time I've seen one of these specialised containers - nifty. My son found it - family members getting good at this.
First to log but not to find. A really nicely hidden cache in a great spot. It was actually in the first place we looked. TFTC!!!
