Over in NZ for a family holiday and a quick chance to grab some morning caches. Solved this before leaving home and walked down on a quiet new years day to locateFound the chair but no luck with the cache - last log with details said it wasn't sticking so hunted low as well. Claiming for now but happy to revisit if CO confirms still I position and I just didn't look hard enough. TFTC SaltyCacheNutZ
I got to the source of this puzzle several months back not knowing when Id be in the area at a suitable time to make a find. Turns out that 8:15 pm on a wet Tuesday is a good time. Thanks SaltyCacheNutZ#4799Logged using Cachly.
After a long day driving up I wanted to make a couple of finds in Kamo before heading to the accommodation, and mrs c indulged. A couple of solved puzzles and a start on an Ad Lab series was just the things to get the numbers underway.Easy find here, though the cache isn't 'sticking' too weel and was found on the floor behind. Tried it back on the host but no can do, so replaced as found.Into June already and Winter is here with temperatures dropping later in the day, and curtains drawn earlier and earlier. Time to head to the 'Winterless North' - Yeah Right. A few days away up from Rangitikei and another 4 night stay at Chateau Ngunguru, the works bach. A good time to catch up with the family and grandchildren in Maungatapere, and a few trips to spend time with each other in Whangarei. Highlights of the visit; A few more Riser caches, some more 0B80B8 ones, meeting both of those COs within a few hours of each other on the Monday, and another rare Wherigo. As ever, thanks to all COs for their hides and maintenance.
Day 2 of our three day Geocaching trip to Whangarei. This stage included a large loop to the East of Whangarei picking up solved puzzles and some Old School Caches. We signed the log as BBIC for Bruzie, BFG, Infoferret and CrystalFairy.

Bruzie 's log says it all really, TFTC SaltyCacheNutZ, cache number 11954 for me.
I'm on a road trip to the far north, attempting to complete the PWGT Tahi Geotour.
This is day four, touring around Whangarei. In the company of barefootguru, InfoFerret, and CrystalFairy. Signed logs as "BBIC" for brevity.
Will expand on my logs, post photos, qualifying caches for challenges, etc. When I get home. TFTC
A quick find while we were passing through with adventure lab waypoints.

First of the day.
We were rolling out of town and it seemed a shame that I had not found, or even attempted to find, any of the 10 or so mystery caches I had solved before this trip.
As we were heading north, I asked RG to detour us slightly off the chosen route to get this one.
A nice quick find, even though we are in the morning rush hour.
Cache is a bit ragged with tape on the verge of letting it go, but it was put back in place with no real issues.
TFTC saltycachenutz, good one.
Day 5 of our Northland road trip, and today is Whangārei to Paihia, the more scenic way via what is called the ‘secret coast route’.
A few caches on our travels today, but to be honest, we just drove past most of them. Handpicked a few to keep the numbers rolling.
Made pretty good time through there, then took a mainly metalled road as the more direct route to Kawakawa. Checked out the sights there - including a train rolling down the Main Street! (Ok, that probably isn’t a big deal), then off to our digs in Paihia. We will be here for quite a while and have a few trips planned.
Thanks all COs for maintaining the caches. All logs signed RG + ric or something similar.

The tape holding this together needs replacing, unfortunately I didn't have any with me to fix the mag.
Solved this one thanks to my recently acquired copy of "How To Puzzle Cache" by Cully Long. I'm on an exciting new learning curve.
This puzzle has been on my solved list for a long time so it was nice to finally collect the smiley on it while having a couple of nights in Whangarei
Thankyou for this puzzle Salty!

A nice straight forward but fun puzzle, made a point to visit today while out on the bicycle exploring the area, TFTC
A nice quick find thanks. I was overlooked by some guys fixing the next door roof! They were too intent on their job to worry about me.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee break to find some of the Northern PW GeoTour caches. Today we cruised from back to Auckland. We had some showers, but the day was mostly fine. Still a lovely day for driving and caching. We knew that we were getting close to Auckland as the traffic was heavy.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

While I was sitting in the campervan waiting for GK (I have a broken leg) , who was participating in the new Adventure Lab Cache, I noticed that there was a solved puzzle icon quite close to where we were parked. I can not remember when I solved this one, it might have been quite some time ago when I was learning about such ways to extract the desired coordinates.
When GK returned we bid farewell to the local geocachers and we came along the road to find this one. With the hint so clear we were a bit disheartened not to make an instant find.
My sister rang to wish us a happy new year so I sat and chatted while feeling all around, still no luck.
Following the phone call GK had a rummage around in the pile of rubbish and leaf litter that was on the ground and sure enough he found the cache.
The log is now full and in need of renewal, sorry we did not have one the right size with us.
GK attached it as per the hint, but noted that the magnet was not the strongest so hopefully it will survive attached ready for the next person to find.
Thanks for the nice wee puzzle and thank you for the smiley

This was a clever puzzle; one of many that I had solved before my northern trip and was keen to find the cache for. I wasn't too smart when it came to timing my search as there were lots of school children about. However, I played the patience game well and, after a few minutes, I was able to complete my mission.
TFT(puzzle)C... as previous note said had solved this one easily... but had a fair idea what it may have been... and with the green tick on first go was feeling our point of view was aligned with the right source.
Was lucky muggle hubby and I were down today and made a quick stop for an easy find, sign and replace... also needed for part of the mystery at the museum... just one more for the next souvenir... and hence that's where we're heading to now

Solved on the 1st attempt. Great to see this puzzle technique being used, been waiting to see one of this kind, thank you... now just need to get down there to log it!
Solved along time ago...I can not remember how I solved it ..its either old age or short term memory loss lol...the find was easy

Another quick trip to visit Dad. Left all my notes behind, but find was easy enough even though it is raining. Thanks for the puzzle and cache SaltyCacheNutz
After visiting with family out Dargaville way I decided to head over to Whangarei way to collect a few solved puzzle caches. I solved this one several months ago. I didn't have any real issues with the puzzle; a style of puzzle that I have seen before, elsewhere. Anyway, it's a splendid day, weather wise, to be caching before I head for home. I parked up and made my way to GZ. It was a nice quick find. Cheers for the puzzle cache placement!
Northland Day 4: Travelled down from Kerikeri, through the beautiful coastline of the Bay of Islands, before ending off in Whangarei. Today’s journey was marked with a bounty of seasides and waterfalls, and with the weather being particularly fine today, there was no excuse to stay in today. Another wholly productive day, with nice haul of caches of all shapes and sizes: a wholly great birthday treat with the family today.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Made a special detour just to get this one as it was a solved mystery. Easy mystery for those who are used to this sort of thing and easily found once I sat in the right spot. TFTC!

Cute puzzle. I grabbed this while waiting for mum to have eye laser surgery. Can't believe it's been ignored all this year. Appropriate hide thanks
On another HOAC mission, this time with Cats&Dragons, Kiwis69, 11HPG11, and Alpenmilch80. The mission a 24 hour blitz on Whangarei puzzles, plus a certain multi to complete C&D's 5th loop around the D/T grid. Leaving Hamilton at 6pm, with a quick stop in Auckland to pick up A80, we were in Whangarei caching just after 10pm.
During the moonlight hours the plan was to focus on the puzzles around Onerahi, and the Pokemon series, while during thhe daylight the plan was to focus on thegreatauk puzzles plus a few others we had solved. The mission turned out to be fairly successful considering the level on difficultly of most of the hides we were targeting. The logs were signed as HOAC to save room on the logs, a big thanks must go out to all the CO's for their hides.
Figured out the source of the coords for this puzzle. No problem finding the cache this morning.

A Friday night a bit different. I got picked up in AKL by a car loaded with Cats&Dragons, 11hpg11, kiwis69, HKCB & a trunk full of food, which could have lasted us for a week surviving in Whangarei. Started into the night with telling a lot of funny stories, enjoying laughter’s and geocaching, geocaching, geocaching.... Another easy puzzle find during the early morning hours.
I enjoyed the time out with the HOAC crew and must say when I arrived back home I felt broken, but very happy and accomplished. TFTC and TFTTrip

A trip to Whangarei for the night to collect a few caches is totally normal right? 2 hours sleep is also normal? Our group tonight consisted of Cats&Dragons, HKCB, Kiwis69, Alpenmilch80 and myself. We left Hamilton at 6pm on Friday and we were home by 6.30pm on Saturday. Some great caches were found and some laughs were had and a lot of sugar and caffeine consumed. A lot of planning and puzzle solving had gone into the prep work so we had a good plan of what caches to attack. Logs were signed as HOAC to save room
A nicely themed puzzle and cache location. No muggles around which meant we could search freely. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

Found during our 24-hr Whangarei caching mission. After a few weeks' planning and a lot of nights scratching our heads over tricky puzzles, we (HKCB, 11HPG11, Alpenmilch83, C&D & myself) set off north on Friday evening with our caching wish-list. Our main targets were puzzles, night caches and less common DT ratings with a spot of tree climbing thrown in for good measure. Great trip: really enjoyed exploring new areas, lots of laughs as always and good to find a few caches before we headed back home on Saturday afternoon (although a bit more sleep while we were here would've been nice too!) All caches were signed "HOAC" so as to save space in the logbooks.
I really enjoyed this puzzle, and I enjoyed having a place to sit down and change my wet footwear this morning before I then finally did the honours & found the cache, much to the amusement of the rest of the team who initially thought I was just dashing out for a super-quick grab. TFTC

Sources of knowledge, local chippie and newly painted seats - got this. Quickly located cache and signed log. Not too many muggles round being Easter Monday.
I am up in Whangarei/Onerahi for Easter weekend visiting the parents and of course, I am going to collect some caches whilst in the area. After a bit of caching in Onerahi this morning and a trip down to Ruakaka for the Marsden City series, I'm back in Whangarei for a couple more hours of caching before heading back to Onerahi. This afternoon turned out to be a tour of my childhood, as it passed by many of the places I spent time in in my formative years.
There was a couple of muggle ladies sitting in the search zone on my first driveby, so I headed to the nearby Kamo Scouts in the hope that they would soon move on.
On my return they had indeed gone, so I could make my search. Cache was an easy find. TFTC

After getting a FTF on the C.O's cache at Sandy Bay, then doing maintenance on my 'Gorby's 4000th' cache and then a well deserved feed at Burger King, I came here.
I had no problems with the solve of this puzzle but sometime later I came here with FMZ and we never did find the final. We looked on one seat only at the time the southern seat, in the dark we never did see the other seat but later we see it had still gone missing! I only realised today in the bright daylight there were 2 seats! So a good look at the southern seat, never found the goodies, was sitting there looking thru the logs to see what I might be missing then some lady sat next to me while waiting for her take-aways to come thru, got pestered by her over friendly young doggie so had to go and sit in my car. Then and only then I saw the other seat ahhh hahh! Then quick smart got out of my car and made an instant find!
Thanks very much Salty again. I see it's been 5 months between visits and all is good here. Now I need to go and visit Riser5's virtual!

Out for a days geocaching. This took some real thinking to solve. It took me a long time to realise it has to be solved using a computer and not the phone app. I was so bamboozled until I had an epiphany and sure enough there was the answer. As for the GZ, I did not know this source of knowledge was here. TFTC and for working my brain.
Saw this pop back up last night, so thought I would have a go at solving it. Picked up the clue quickly enough, but still took a few minutes to track down the info I needed. Called in this evening, once most of the muggles were gone and made a quick find at GZ. Happy to be first to sign the new log. A word of advice to future cachers - please be sure when replacing the cache that you place it where the invisible force can work strongest - i.e. NOT on the newly painted surfaces. TFT(Knowledge)C
Gosh I had seen the cache just a day or 2 before FMZ's DNF, but now see the item which contained the cache has now been fully removed & upgraded!! LOL, last time the cache went missing when item was removed for maintenance, but the painter kindly replaced the cache ( with a note!) upon reinstallation. Will replace when able ( or perhaps the original will reappear?! )
Came by this way with FMZ and with both of us looking, it still didn't reveal itself.
I'm inclined to think that this was slightly more difficult than a difficulty one, certainly when I just started geocaching it would not have been the easiest puzzle to solve. Still after looking in the right place I found what I was looking for no problem. At GZ today on our way through to Kerikeri and dropped in to collect this.
Quiet time with most things being closed around here but a local takeaway was still doing a steady trade in the middle of the day which made the hardest bit timing the parking. Once at GZ the hide was easy to find...not seen this technique done exactly like this before so that was interesting. Signed the log in the comfort of the car before strolling back to GZ and replacing. No chance of being muggled today. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

3 years ago, 3 people could not find this one. Today I walked right to it. I have no idea why we didn't manage to find it the last time. I even see old logs in the log scroll, so it's not even because it could have been missing. Sheez..

Up here for a couple of days for technical training with a new territory manager (and tonight its back to Whangarei) so a chance to grab a couple of caches in the area.
Got up here early evening so only had a chance for a couple of caches before I was all done in.
Fortunate enough that I only had to contend with a couple of families leaving the nearby chippie, and the cache was soon in hand and returned.
Thanks for the cache, thanks for the placement

Yah I solved this one. I've been learning how to solve different types of puzzles and I was hoping to come across a puzzle like this. Thanks for the fun
#296 I finally got to stop and grab this one. Previous attempts were thwarted by muggles but I got it by making it a night cache. TFT(covert)C.
Popped by & checked on cache again today. It is still exactly where it belongs; I often see a glimpse of it when walking past
Even with muggles it is easy to sit & grab it discreetly without anyone noticing.

Got the green tick - sadly, no cache to be found anywhere. Looked on all the metal bits I could see, it was raining so noone was around so I could have a good old hunt... No luck.

A tricky find in such a high muggle zone, we had to wait for someone who was parked in his car to move on. Surprised that the diff rating is only 1 given that there is a puzzle to solve (albeit an easy one) as well as muggles to contend with. Signed as SWaT. TFTC.

This would have to be the HARDEST D 1 I have done. Having seen it before it was solved quickly but for a newbie it would be hard. Thanks
Mr Mob has been puzzling about this for ages, finally solved it today!!! Will go to GZ soon to claim the reward for being an attentive pupil!
Woo Hoo! Solved! I remember learning this a few years ago, for a project, but had lost the knack until this prompted me and refreshed my memory! Will grab it when next in town.

We're so excited...we cracked the code ... hard work for us beginners but our combined brain power and persistence paid off! We'll go and look for it when there are not likely to be so many muggles around.
Visited and found after dinner - an easy find after working out the co-ordinates (that was the hard bit!). Funny thing was the couple who were sitting & chatting close by - forever it seemed. Waited about 15 mins until they walked off in separate directions then we casually wandered along and made our find. Thanks for the brain challenge:)

Man this one stumped me in the beginning. Must remember not to go straight for where the google maps area is if it is a ? one. Found it after remembering that the bench was freshly painted. LOL. When I figured out how to get the coordinates, so much easier. I get the clues from the title and the words now. TFTC, A good test.
Puzzled over this one for a short while, then thought of a possible solution. Instantly knew it would prove to be correct, as indeed it was. Not at all surprised to see the location of the hide. Thanks for the fun, and the cryptic cache page.

But all came clear when at GZ.
Quickly found. No problem for me with the logbook.
Just found a few caches in the Nanozone (Redbeach).
